I understand that we have had Tom James at Yeovil watched and wondered if one of the Eds can confirm this and if you know whether he's any good?

Seems a strange one to me.

Raoul

{Ed001's Note - I don't know off the top of my head, it is certainly possible, he is very highly rated and Cardiff never wanted to let him leave in the first place. He came close to joining West Brom at one point - if I remember correctly it was in the summer - and has had a number of Prem clubs watch him this season.}

1.) 04 Nov 2018 12:40:23
I've never seen him play but he does a hell of a lot for charity, it just goes to show what kind of lad he is when you consider he won't be on crazy wages.

2.) 04 Nov 2018 14:30:07
Congrats on winning the bake off mate.

I've heard that Swansea are interested in signing Danny Ward.

Raoul

1.) 20 Jun 2018 07:52:07
I hope he does go so he can kick start his career again, he deserves it. Good luck to the lad.

2.) 20 Jun 2018 08:17:27
So what's the deal? Have read comments on here for a couple of years about him being a good keeper. Is he not showing it in training, or does Klopp just not rate him for whatever reason? Surely if he's good enough he would show it on the training ground?
I wonder how often we bring in players who are no better than those in the ranks.

3.) 20 Jun 2018 09:50:34
I think Swansea would be a great move, with Fabianski leaving they need someone to step in. With potter now the manager I can see them bouncing back straight away!

I don’t think it would be a loan we have pissed him off too much.

4.) 20 Jun 2018 10:59:03
I like Ward, he’s a very competent keeper and has a calm head on him, he should have been given a chance last year.

Ed, I appreciate it might be a bit early, but do you know who might replace Borrell and McParland? Or are Critchley and Inglethorpe effectively the replacements? If not, then the timing is rather odd don't you think? {Ed001's Note - I am not sure, I would expect those two to be promoted, so sort of replace them, but then others will have to be brought in as well. I have no idea who they will be though, as of yet.}

Steve macmananman I've heard, will take on a bigger role, also heard somebody from ajax! Just have to wait and see! Maybe carra could be offered a job!

Good to see Crouch celebrate his goal yesterday. I hate seeing former players not celebrate scoring against their former clubs.

Raoul

1.) 25 May 2015 09:36:06
Is that you carra

2.) 25 May 2015 10:30:54
Yeah I agree, why would you not celebrate scoring against a club that sold you. Lol

18 May 2015 22:39:38
Just watched the Matt Le Tissier documentary on Sky. I'd forgotten how many amazing goals he'd scored and sadly a couple against us! Definitely one of my favourite non-Liverpool players. How he didn't have more international caps I don't know !

Raoul

1.) 18 May 2015 23:00:40
Great player, but also a pundit that detests Liverpool.

Still a great player though and as loyal as they come.

2.) 18 May 2015 23:10:27
Had he made the effort to try and shed half stone of fat. He'd of been one of the best of his generation.
As a fat man he was amazing, a little effort would of made him world class

I can't help but think that the interest in Sterling's contract by the media would have been far less had it not been the international break. The sooner Saturday comes the better, so the discussion can be elsewhere.

Raoul

1.) 02 Apr 2015 22:44:36
It would have been far less had BR and SG just minded their own business instead of talking abot in this same media you speak of.

2.) 03 Apr 2015 06:13:25
Think I'm more likely to believe the Eds over anything written in papers or on websites such as Sky or Goal. I'm not even sure what to make of what players say in interviews any more, as most of them(if not all) are usually told what to say in interviews so meh.

Ed001 and Ed002 seem fairly confident Sterling will stay.

3.) 03 Apr 2015 10:45:04
If we would of beaten Utd and be in the top 4 now, does Sterling do that interview, with the emphasis on ambitions? I don't think so. His agent has manipulated the situation at the wrong time, maybe he should have waited till the end of the season.

04 Feb 2015 21:41:32
I enjoyed that. Great goal to win it too.

Raoul

1.) Well done for enjoying it - I suffered big time for 86 minutes. Didn't I ask the lads in the morning to kill the game quickly and said I am in no mood for late thrillers. Did I or didn't I?. It shoudl be still here down the page written black on white in html. Why do we have to keep it to the end every game without exception this year. When can we watch a second half with our feet up and not looking in the Tv through our fingers? Well done for the guys but please please on Saturday give us these quality goals in the first 10 minutes and not in the last.

2.) It was a poor game that we barely won. Must do better.

03 Feb 2015 22:27:58
Lots of discussion on our recent improvement and more optimism about our chances of a top 4 finish which is good to see. But.

My anxiety lies on the ability of BR to rotate the squad, particularly when the Europa League games re-start. I'm yet to see anything that fills me with hope that suggests the manager can successfully rotate players at the right time to keep them sharp. I hope he keeps rotation to a minimum and that my concerns are unfounded (and that we don't get knocked out in the next round).

Raoul

1.) He should just play gerrard in cup games from here on in. Rotate lallana with pipco. Rotate sterling with balo. Play Sturridge every game- he's had 5 months off!

{Ed001's Note - why on earth would you want to rotate Sterling with Balotelli? What insanity would cause anyone to do that???}

2.) 04 Feb 2015 12:20:50
Surely the natural rotation for giving Sterling rest would be Lallana

3.) Haha. Well it was tongue-in-cheek (which I think you got). But tbf, Balo's best position is behind, and servicing, a main striker (rather than being a lone striker). i.e. replacing Sterling in this central role now that Sturridge is back.

Sterling could be played out wide in this formation, drawing players out and creating space for Balo and his back heels

Could it be worth a chance? (How many more chances will he get i wonder?)

Ironic selling Ilori just a few days after our lack of pace in defence was so badly exposed.

If Joe wants to move back to Swansea then it will happen. My understanding is he's really torn. He's settled where he is, but has strong connections with Swansea and lots of family living locally. He's also tempted by a move abroad should an offer come in.

I was talking with someone very senior at Swansea recently and they are still keen, it's more a case of whether Joe wants that move.

I agree with most of what you say, but think we still look very dodgy at defending set pieces. I think we can all see progress and the potential and that's exciting!

If the manager wants to play 3 at the back, it's not overly ridiculous, especially if that frees Can to play in midfield again.

As soon as Shelvey gets the ball the centrebacks should have reacted. If you watch the goal again they're square on and not on the half turn, they're static and they're too far apart. The same was true for one of the city goals. Yes coaching can address this, but they're experienced players and not youngsters so they should know this already. It was a decent run and good pass, but the defending was dreadful.

Smplfc, I was at The Vale after the cup final too. I remember Henchoz, Smicer and Barmby being really chatty. God and Heskey were pretty good and Houllier was happy to talk for ages. Got loads of great pics! Couldn't get near Owen or Gerrard though.

Ed, do you know John Acterberg? Have you trained with him? --------balance of an entirely ignorant post removed ----------

Raoul

{Ed002's Note - (a) Yes, I have met him. (b) No, I am not a goalkeeper.}

Where have I said I'm happy not to be winning? And that's regardless of what's spent. I've simply pointed out that perhaps Klopp isn't as hopeless as your above post was insinuating.

Raoul

{Ed002's Note - You are happy and Liverpool are not winning. Klopp might well do better in the future, but for years he has failed. And failed with collateral damage.}
