Real Madrid have shifted their interest from Cavani to Suarez because they feel the Napoli man is too expensive and doesn't represent as much value for money as his compatriot {Ed002's Note -Real Madrid has another player in mind right now - there is some distance to go with their shopping.}

Random Red

1.) Another striker? {Ed002's Note - Yes. I have explained repeatedly that RM are not the only club interested in Suarez and Suarez is not the only player that interests them.}

2.) Bearing in mind what your reply was ed, can you elaborate on what you believe their strategy represents so far, in regards to suraez {Ed002's Note - They won't have a specific "strategy" in respect of Suarez. He is a player that has been offered to them, amongst other sides, and they may well be making a bid. an offer was expected last week and never materialised. They are also looking to other players. This is the same approach taken by most clubs - like Liverpool has done with the centre backs. If they make an offer I expect in the first instance it will be low with a youngster they no longer required offered up as well. There is nothing "special" about Suarez - at least not in respect of transfers.}

3.) Cheers Ed, any chance in letting us know who the other striker is they were interested in Aguero were they not some time back? As for Suarez still wouldn't mind him staying as he is a quality footballer, either way the club will move onwards. {Ed002's Note - Jovetic.}

4.) Ed are Liverpool themseleves offering suarez to clubs or his agent trying tohget him a move?

bigW {Ed002's Note - His agent and representatives.}

5.) 28 Jun 2013 23:59:30
So Ed002, Real have dropped their interest in Luis? Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - No.}

6.) Ed's, why is it that LFC simply get rid of Suarez by offering him to Real Madrid for one of the strikers + miss. I mean surely a Suarez for Higuain + Di Maria and 10M looks tasty and realistic. Di Maria has been linked to Spurs and yet they are ONLY in Europa league. I'm sure we could negotiate his deal, as same as with Higuain. All in all, I bust think LFC must act fast. Also, just a thought, IF El Sharaawy wants out, we could bid for him using the Suarez money, could we not. Whether he considers CL into account is another thing, but you never know till you try, we got Suarez without CL didn't we and he was probably in the Top 50 Soccer Players at that time due to his phenominal scoring record at Ajax. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not offered Suarez to Real Madrid at all. You appear to have drifted off in to some strange fantasy land.}

I'm curious about what The Saints saw in Redmond that made them think he'd be an adequate replacement for Mane.

Decent performance by the Lads last night.

Must admit that i am rather underwhelmed by Firmino.
He looks clumsy and didn't offer much going forward. Hopefully just early season jitters. Ibe has also been, for lack of a better word, woeful. Joe Gomez is a good defender but is limited going forward, unlike Clyne who is equally capable in defence and attack.
Milner has been fantastic so far. And Coutinho is just amazing.

1.) 25 Aug 2015 07:57:45
In his 63 minutes, Firmino created more chances than any other Liverpool player did in the entire game. He was slightly wasteful with the ball at times, but demonstrated his physicality by winning more tackles than any Liverpool player bar Lucas and Joe Gomez. This was not a spectacular opening bow, but Rodgers will have seen plenty to impress him ahead of a long season in four competitions.

Roberto Firmino for you.

2.) 25 Aug 2015 08:37:42
Firmino is clearly adjusting. He looked not up to speed but he has good movement and has good feet and is robust enough. I think playing hims further froward will help. Ibe needs to get involved, he looks scared to do anything and probably could do with some time on the bench. Gomez is a CB who is more suited to RB but playing LB and I can have no complaints on his performance. He has 3 yellow cards in 3 games and will be banned soon at this rate though.

3.) 25 Aug 2015 08:38:27
His first time pass across the box the Big Ben was brilliant

4.) 25 Aug 2015 09:10:34
Ibe doesn't need to be involved AG he needs to be dropped Asap so he can go back to his real self, because he looks like a confrence player going by last night!

Clyne > Shaw

That said, why are we buying so many English players? It's not like England is known for producing exceptional footballers

Random Red

1.) 25 Jun 2015 20:34:20
I've pondered that very question myself. We can't even say that they are easier to adapt either since we've seen Carroll, downing, johnson, and to a lesser extent llallana and lambert struggle to adapt even when moving within the same league

2.) 25 Jun 2015 21:29:56
In all honesty I can't say I've really seen him play. So can't really say anything. If we do sign him though I hope he will be more of a success than Johnson was.

3.) 25 Jun 2015 21:45:43
I thought Johnson gave us a few good years. Yeah turned into porridge later but wouldn't say he was a waste. Each to there own and all that.

4.) 25 Jun 2015 22:32:11
At least if they're a success they'll have resell value

5.) 26 Jun 2015 02:11:48
When Arsenal were dominant did they not have an entire back five largely consisting of Englishmen?

When Chelsea became champions of England and Europe did they not rely on Terry, Cole and Lampard?

When SAF's United were dominant did they not have an English spine in the team?

6.) 26 Jun 2015 04:45:09
Random Red, Wisdom > Clyne > Shaw. Wisdom is the better defender, that should be the key for any defender.

7.) 26 Jun 2015 09:08:17
Would guess buying more English players because need them in squad for potential regs. Also Terry has been praised as key to Chelsea this year (with a little Belgian help) and we're not exactly doing great with non lots of non English either.

21 Jun 2015 06:43:21
So we've signed another young CB.
What are we doing though?

Random Red

1.) 21 Jun 2015 09:05:47
Its ok don't worry Brenda is still at the wheel. I'm sure it won't take her long to wreck another young players career.

2.) 21 Jun 2015 09:52:37
This kid is tipped to be top top quality. English as well, which means he's worth more if he does well, also the quota thing. Skrtel even if he signs will not be around in two seasons, Gomez will be 20. Hopefully we'd have a new exciting manager and with this Linders guy around who has worked well with youth prospects then this kid could be an awesome signing.
I'd have Ilori, Gomez, Jones and Sakho as my squad CBs in the near future. if appointed :)

3.) 21 Jun 2015 09:58:22
Ironic therefore that the very reason he's signed is (according to him ) the way BR gives youth a chance!

Given the record on centre halves, I can only assume he's been given some kind of road map and assurances as to his future. Good luck with that though.

4.) 21 Jun 2015 12:25:59
Marshy do you think it's a similiar roadmap that BR showed the owners on how we would challenge for the title this season and have a good run in the Champions League.
Paper doesn't refuse ink.

5.) 21 Jun 2015 14:06:17
Max, you must think players will stand around and wait for us to get our acts together, don't you? Ilori would have been an LFC player for his third season YET he's not even played a friendly for us over that span. If that doesn't bother you then I can't help you there. The boy's career is getting destroyed with every chance we refuse to give him and he's not the only one in that boat. Suso checked out as soon as he saw what was happening and so will many others including Gomez, if we have no plan to ever give them a chance.

6.) 21 Jun 2015 16:31:52
He would of been better off with sat nav Marshy.
Could of directed him in the right direction!

Ed002 will not tolerate any Origi bashing, they are very close.

300 Million is a bit of a stretch, however, he is arguably the second best player in the Brazil national team, whatever bid is placed should reflect that.

What do you guys think of Chelsea selling Matic for 40 million and then signing Drinkwater for 40 million?

I have never watched Naby Keita play, only youtube videos. Is this guy really that good? For the kind of fee he would command, you expect him to be a superstar.
i would love to see more of Grujic though.
