Edd is it true that Grujic got Injured? And it got to do with red star medical team misdiagnosed his injury and aggravated it?

RageReds

{Ed001's Note - I dont know sorry. I will be a bit out of touch over the next month as I have all my inlaws staying so will be a bit busy. Apologies if I struggle to keep on top of news but there are 12 of us in the apartment so it is very hectic.}

1.) 10 Apr 2016 08:04:51
Enjoy the family 😉.

{Ed001's Note - thanks mate, first time I have met most of them. I was just glad the stepfathrr in law didnt have his gun to hand for the first meeting.....}

2.) 10 Apr 2016 08:35:44
Or his Utd jersey on.

{Ed001's Note - that would never happen!}

3.) 10 Apr 2016 13:46:00
Fair play Ed enjoy the family bonding😋.

4.) 11 Apr 2016 16:13:37
A United fan father in law? That's reason to consider a break 😂.

29 Mar 2016 04:35:17
Sorry Edd but there's a twitter (I know you don't like Twitter rumour) meltdown over Paul joyce and Ben smith's report over Goetze wanting to reunite with Klopp. Just passing on the rumour.

RageReds

1.) 28 Mar 2016 17:01:36
Hopefully he'll follow that well trodden path to Man City and not come here. If there is a choice between Gotze and Oxlade-Chamberlain then I'd go for Gotze all day long.

2.) 29 Mar 2016 10:52:05
Wide players?

02 Dec 2015 03:12:55
Just read about the article that Moreno's agent said that Real Madrid is interested. Edds any input on this? I rmb something along the line of RM is always his prefer choice and is holding on to that before moving to us. Would we lose him? RM and Barcelona is a dream club for almost every Spaniards.

RageReds

{Ed002's Note - There has been no secret to Moreno's desire to move to Real Madrid - and that was enough to put off other clubs being interested in him when he was at Sevilla. Right now I am not aware of Real Madrid showing any interest in him but I am aware that Liverpool have indeed looked at a couple of left backs recently.}

1.) 02 Dec 2015 13:13:31
He's replaceable.

2.) 02 Dec 2015 13:58:03
He isn't that good yet! The mind boggles with some if these agents!

3.) 02 Dec 2015 14:13:56
That's the team spirit!

Everyone's replaceable in time, but that approach hasn't served us too well in the last few Seasons. I think we need to follow Klopp principles of keeping our talent and investing in developing a close knit squad and improving our players up through hard work, not trying to sell and buy our way to the title.

We also don't have the funds to Keep doing that . agent/transaction costs and integrating new players means the risks are very high in replacing.

4.) 02 Dec 2015 15:07:46
I really rate him and think he's starting to show his best. I hope he stays a long time but can't see it from what I understand if his personal ambitions. I expect him to move on at some point over the next 2/3 seasons and would put money on Madrid being the destination. We do have another great young left back at the club however!

5.) 02 Dec 2015 15:54:13
Markovic! Wait.

6.) 02 Dec 2015 16:32:18
Seems mad that a player who moaned at the start of the season about not playing would get his agent to start mentioning RM again, there's literally no chance he'd play ahead of Marcelo. I don't understand players and agents sometimes, he'd had 8 or 9 good games recently and suddenly he's going to walk into one of the best defences in the world?

7.) 02 Dec 2015 20:45:11
How many people on here thought after 41 seconds of the match. Yea he can go Real Madrid to then maybe think hhmm maybe not at 47 mins. Ha.

8.) 02 Dec 2015 23:37:54
Lets be honest RM come in for one of our players and offer enough - they will go.

9.) 03 Dec 2015 14:11:52
Depressingly accurate Hoola although given our success (or lack of it) in recent years that is hardly a surprise. If we can be successful and win things then we can both attract and keep top players. The onus is on us to make ourselves an attractive option.

Players will always have preferences and, as has been mentioned before, many South Americans long harbour a desire to play for either Barcelona or Madrid (and do so since their childhood) - but when the decision is between Champions League and no Champions League it makes the choice much easier. Hopefully we can amend that this season.

10.) 03 Dec 2015 10:55:48
Real Madrid will have to pay astronomical fees to get any of our players now klopp is here. This is no weak yes man, IT's JURGEN KLOPP. You think he came to Liverpool when he could have managed any club he wants just to see his players sold? NOT HAPPENING.

11.) 03 Dec 2015 17:37:46
In the last 2 seasons we've sold 2 players to big clubs, they both wanted to leave, there was a serious danger of a toxic situation and in both cases we made good money. Hardly a situation that says we're a selling club being preyed upon.

12.) 03 Dec 2015 18:49:20
Can't defend if life depended on it. The Spanish Johnson can go.

13.) 03 Dec 2015 18:59:09
Both had poor attitudes, one internally one externally, one had huge talent but the other pretty damn average. And Man City you are referring to as a big club? What denotes big? A rich benefactor? If so was that Russian outfit a big club not so long back? Nah MC not a big club in my judgement!

14.) 04 Dec 2015 07:56:28
Could you see Johnson smashing the ball into the net like that (even if Origi got the credit) or making that run and assist against Ibe? Or tracking back and making that flying tackle in the box in the last Southampton game? Didn't think so.

Yes he makes mistakes as he's young, but he's learning and at least he makes up for it in heart, guts, pace and attacking intent. He's almost perfect for Klopp's gameplan.

{Ed001's Note - the problem with Johnson is that he was capable of doing any of those things and more, but he simply could not be bothered. His work rate was appallingly low and his attention span was lower than a 5 year old on a sugar rush.}

15.) 04 Dec 2015 09:02:13
Purlisssss. there are many better leftback who are more defensively aware than moreno. Yes he 'scored' but he was caught ball watching for Mane's goal.

16.) 04 Dec 2015 11:18:27
Ed, is this rumour of a RM transfer ban, like Barcelona suffered, true or not?

{Ed002's Note - Yes. It is a little convoluted and rather old news dating back to the Spring. However, FIFA has found two more clubs culpable of abusing the regulations regarding the transfer of minors - both clubs have had two window bans identified as punishment but neither have had the band imposed just yet. One of those clubs offered to voluntarily take a one window ban but that was not accepted. Additionally, a larger number of clubs (double figures) have been identified as potentially falling foul of the same regulations but investigations are now on hold. This larger number does include Arsenal and Chelsea but neither has been asked to defend their position at this time. The only clubs initially investigated were those in the Champions League three years ago - FIFA will have to decide whether to extend the investigation or look to an alternate solution. For now, it should not be a concern for the English sides.}

17.) 04 Dec 2015 15:49:11
Thanks Ed.

22 Jul 2014 17:03:06
Hello edd
I rmb quite some time back you said about moreno being track by spurs or something. And that they will try to get moreno.
Something about the deal is still not dead yet if spurs can't provide the money and that we still have chance for moreno
Mind shining any lights on this?

RageReds

{Ed002's Note - Spurs turned their attention elsewhere.}

22 Jun 2014 14:55:23
Sorry edd just curious that if Liverpool are interested in any striker since they are happy to let borini and aspas go. Can't be happy with lambert as our only backup right?

RageReds

{Ed002's Note - Borini was on loan last season so doesn't effectively count. Aspas was a mistake by Rodgers who is being replaced by Lambert. Unless someone else leaves, then I would think no.}

Hopefully Jordan Handsomeson could stay injury free throughout. I don't think anyone is as integral to the team as him. almost every other position we have a like to like replacement but for henderson role, no 1 could do what he did. Emre can, Gini, lallana, Grujic, Stewart. none is close to what he is.

RageReds

1.) 16 Dec 2016 06:32:09
We don't have have a like to like player for Mane. He will be a bigger miss than anyone. The turn he made for that second goal showed what pace brings to a team.

2.) 16 Dec 2016 09:52:49
Your latest obsession Harry? Mane!

3.) 16 Dec 2016 14:59:03
It used to be Carzola.

4.) 16 Dec 2016 16:11:43
I'm pretty sure Harry said Mane would be a waste of money when we were rumoured to be singing him in the summer.

5.) 16 Dec 2016 17:29:52
No Puzzled. But I wasn't really happy with the price tag and none were actually happy.
Always wanted winger to play ok the flanks and Mane was just one of it.

6.) 16 Dec 2016 17:30:24
My latest obsession is Hamilton Weslh.

29 Nov 2016 23:11:55
may I ask if there's some issue with Grujic? seem to be even failing to make it for bench at times. wouldn't this risk the work permit issue?

RageReds

{Ed002's Note - There is no issues, just he is not quite ready yet.}

31 Oct 2016 08:21:19
Edd mind sharing your view on rafa as a manager? especially during his time at liverpool.

RageReds

{Ed001's Note - mixed, he did some great things, but he wouldn't just concentrate on managing the team and kept playing petty politics behind the scenes trying to get more power. If he had just stuck to managing, he could have done far more. Sadly he couldn't help himself. It didn't help that he was hamstrung by Prick Parry being involved. The big mistake he made though, was falling out with Pako Ayesteran, he needed Pako's friendliness and warm hearted approach to balance his cold, technical approach.}

1.) 31 Oct 2016 09:39:51
To be fair i think Rafa's hand was forced into the petty politics with Hicks and Gilette in charge. In a way i think he highlighted what a balls up those 2 were making of the club.

{Ed001's Note - so what excuse will you make for his time at Valencia, which saw him leave because of the politics he had got involved in at the club? Or before G&H? Rafa just loves the powerplay, it is nothing to do with being forced.}

2.) 31 Oct 2016 09:51:37
didnt knew much happening behind the scenes but on the pitch he assembeled the most complete team in past 20 years. One by one, He managed to make the team the most balanced across and destroyed it himself. Tactically he was head and shoulders above many notable names. Rafa knew how to win 1-0 games more than 4-0. He was often called as the cup manager focusing too much on the league cups.
Rafa game us some of the night we will never forget and some of the days we will always cherish. His team was hard to beat much to do with the style of play, Never gerts intimdated with anything on the pitch.

Best Gk
Best CB pairing
Best full backs
Second best CM in our history
A hard tackling Defensive midfielder
The best days of Gerrard
Argubly the best CF.

I always wondered how on eath we failed to win the title after being 7 points clear at the top by december.

3.) 31 Oct 2016 11:26:20
I'll never forget rafas January speech when we were top of the league. His random race to the press on man united and ferguson. I was embarrassed. It effected us on the pitch and united won the title. We had a great chance that year too.

4.) 31 Oct 2016 12:09:56
Must admit, I thought the same as Irish and I didn't know about Valencia.

I'll be intrigued to see how the soap opera plays out at Newcastle then!

5.) 31 Oct 2016 12:28:41
I think we were just a little light in attack, Gerrard and Torres were sensational but we needed another threat to share the load.

6.) 31 Oct 2016 13:53:03
Sweet chin music - second best cm in our history?

Alonso, Souness are two that were better than him.

7.) 31 Oct 2016 14:04:42
Jay 19

You got me wrong. I was referring to Alonso the second best CM in our history after Souness.

8.) 31 Oct 2016 14:02:07
You mean like Keane who was forced out after half a season despite being a consistent goal threat for a 15+ year career muscatred?

{Ed001's Note - Keane destroyed his own career by being utterly unprofessional. He threw away his chance with the club.}

9.) 31 Oct 2016 14:23:07
sorry sweet chin thought you meant gerrard.

10.) 31 Oct 2016 14:47:39
Whilst I have no doubt that is true Ed001, we still got rid of our only striker support midway through a season when we were challenging for the title with no replacement brought in.

{Ed001's Note - it had to be done though, he was a problem dragging down the club and needed to go.}

11.) 31 Oct 2016 17:39:45
Seem to remember we threw it away losing at Boro when Rafa played Skrtel at right back.

12.) 31 Oct 2016 17:42:45
Ed01 You remember Riera falling out with Rafa. It's a surprise He couldn't by a world class winger in his 5 years at the club. Did we miss out on any notable wingers mate?

{Ed001's Note - we did miss out on a few players, but that was mainly down to Parry, rather than Rafa. At that time Rafa was still the guy who won two titles with Valencia and then went to Liverpool and lifted the Champions League. Players wanted to play for him.}

13.) 31 Oct 2016 17:53:47
I agree soo much about Pako, I was heartbroken when he was forced out of the club for something soo petty as thinking Pako was betraying him, which he wasn't. Pako was adored by the players. I agree about the Power play from Rafa, he wanted total control of the club and didn't stop until he got it at the expense maybe of the football we played. People can argue that had he been in charge under different owners and not needed to sell to buy we would have been better, but he did buy some awful players. And maybe had Pako been there in the 08/ 09 season we maybe could have gone on to win the league that year, perhaps Rafa wouldn't have gotten involved in the infamous "Facts", but hindsight is a great thing really. I loved Rafa for what he did for the club, but as every one he made mistakes in his time sadly. I hope for his sake that him and Pako can make up eventually and settle the differences because they were close friends and worked together for 11 years.

14.) 31 Oct 2016 18:07:04
we also drew to many games, if we could combine rafa's defence with klopp's attack we would have the perfect combination, to only lose 2 games all season and still not win the title was criminal, also he should have won the title 1st and then gave fergie what for.

15.) 31 Oct 2016 22:00:43
Ed, was Keane a massive nuisance off the pitch, kind of like Balotelli?

16.) 01 Nov 2016 01:09:46
Rafa's arrogance just like BR's, cost us the league. He let Fergie get to him and that rant proved it. Also, we were seven points clear at Christmas but Rafa just kept getting caught up in off field nonsense and distractions. Also, we lost only two games that season but had ELEVEN draws hence, 22 points dropped. That is equivalent to 7 extra losses that season. We convert even five of thos to victories, we win the PL that season. Then he sold Alonso for Gareth Barry? . Nuff said!

10 Sep 2016 20:19:54
I know it's only 4 games but still didn't quite know what Gini brings to the team. Hopefully he will come good in the end. I have faith in Klopp's judgment. overall a GREAT GREAT win. could and should score more than 4 goals. top it off with Man utd losing. best combo.

RageReds

1.) 10 Sep 2016 20:31:50
No. he played well. intelligent player, the managers man.

2.) 10 Sep 2016 20:33:09
He has already created 2 goals in 4 games, from a completely unfamiliar role at this level.

He needs to improve his defensive work, but for me he is taking far too much criticism. As is Lallana who has now got 2 goals from 4 games, also from a new role.

Whatever way you look at our start to this season we have no played last seasons top 3 and dropped just 2 points against them. Barring one complete off-day vs Burnley we have started exceptionally well!

3.) 10 Sep 2016 20:34:53
I would rather we played Stewart in centre midfield as he gives us more steel. Thought Milner had a good game and looked competent, Matip was immense, Lucas played well (not going to mention the goal as it was a hospital pass from the keeper), Sturridge led the line well and Mane and Firmino were unplayable. And the new stand looks amazing. Lots of positives but still the same niggle in midfield. Plus Man United got beaten too so good day all round.

4.) 10 Sep 2016 20:37:16
Gini has 2 assists in 4 matches. That being said, I do agree that he doesn't exactly stamp his authority over games.

I'll tell you who he reminds me of: Maxi Rodriguez, especially in his last 18 months here. Barely see him in general play, but then he pops up around the box with a goal or an assist. His goals for Newcastle (nearly all from arriving late in the box) + anything I've heard from Newcastle fans about him seem to back that impression up. Of course Maxi had a good goals/ games ratio for a midfielder in that period, whilst Gini is yet to register for the club.

Personally, it's not a style of player I'd have in my team, but if he can start producing the final product as he settles in, then I'll be quite happy. And I definitely think the tactical set-up Klopp has come up with to utilise him and Lallana in central midfield is working.

5.) 10 Sep 2016 21:03:05
He made some good runs today and the ball wasn't delivered to him. He was better today. Still learning his role in the team, let's be patient!

6.) 10 Sep 2016 22:28:14
What he gives is a composure with the ball, an attacking threat from midfield, something we missed last year. Yes he hasn't been perfect, but playing midfield in the Premier League is difficult. On more than one occasion he kept his head in the box to provide an assist, unlike other midfielders we have had like Allen, Lucas and even Henderson who lack composure further up the field.

He can take the ball from midfield and drive forward, and I would prefer him making run into the box than Henderson or Can. He has pace, and he is comfortable receiving the ball, he has a good range of passing and plays with his head up. From last year we know he can score goals, and the position he keeps getting into, it won't be long before he scores his first goal.

He has also done his work defensively, especially today where I noticed a few key interceptions and good defensive headers. With his play I see an intelligence and understanding of the game which is important.

It is still too early to judge him, but given the good list of attributes he possesses I think he can be a good player for us.

7.) 11 Sep 2016 00:15:31
Gini was excellent today.

8.) 10 Sep 2016 23:39:00
You must be watching a different game to me. I thought he was really effective today, generally tidy on the ball always looking to break the lines and pull their defenders about. We haven't had a midfielder for ages who wants to go beyond the strikers.

9.) 11 Sep 2016 02:28:39
Gini can be a great player for us. Links play, one touch passes etc and those runs into the box can be deadly. He'll bag a few goals his year then suddenly people will see what he brings.

10.) 11 Sep 2016 03:16:42
Gini took the candies from frankly georginio wijnaldum has his best game for liverpool and he is improving every game and frankly still won't leave him alone.

24 Aug 2016 06:27:25
does anyone thinks that we miss Emre Can as much as we miss Mane? the way he power through and bring the ball out of trouble plus the way he close down opponent. most of our midfielders are a pass and move type whereas Emre can will dribble his way out of trouble.

RageReds

1.) 24 Aug 2016 06:46:20
There lies the issue with him. He will dribble and charge forward without having a check the gap behind him. Hence Henderson bay sit alongside Can.
Once you are deployed to hold he midfield, you just stay there and break any opposition play. Indisciplined midfielder. He still has to learn to put in precise tackle without accumulation cards.

{Ed001's Note - no, that is what you work on in training, that when one goes forward the other drops in. There is no issue with Can taking opportunities to make a forward run, the issue is that he doesn't always get back as quickly as he should.}

2.) 24 Aug 2016 07:44:31
Coz that's not his natural style of play. You will have coach him to do that job and in between you will have many Sevilla games. I would rather more of a conventional player there who doesn't charge high up and does the simple things well allowing his midfield partner to run the show. Stewart, Matic etc. when Can stays in the middle Henderson will look great but when can charges high Hendo looks weak.

{Ed001's Note - you really are not getting this are you? It is the rest of the team's job to fill in when one player goes forward. Just like when Hansen used to make those runs from the backline, someone else dropped in to cover the gap. It is teamwork we need to develop.}

3.) 24 Aug 2016 09:20:32
Your point is well made Ed. no-one should be shackled, but when one bursts forward others have to cover. A couple of times Matip and Lovren came forward, there is no issue with this (Hansen and Aggee Spring to mind) others just have to respond to this and drop in and cover. I personally think Can and Hendo should be our CM pairing with Stewart and Grujic as cover. Would personally like to see Lucas stay and be in contention but that looks unlikely.

4.) 24 Aug 2016 09:49:05
Henderson really needs to work on his passing.
Add goals to his game and some assists. Big season for him he has to do more.

{Ed001's Note - when he has players moving to pass to, his passing is excellent and he racks up plenty of assists. Have you actually ever watched the lad play with your eyes open? Or is it difficult to do when you are only seeing him as a target to be abused?}

5.) 24 Aug 2016 10:18:08
I really do like Hendo, i admire his technique as well as his head for positioning and tactics. One of my favorite players in Liverpool at the moment, but its hard because its like having a favorite child when you want to love all of them, but some of them keep on getting into trouble.

The only thing I would like him to improve on is his presence on the pitch, i might be very mistaken but i don't see him yelling at people when they stuff up, or making them try harder not tell them need to try harder, make them, ala Caragher in defence. then again i don't have the honour of watching live games at the ground.

6.) 24 Aug 2016 10:26:09
He is not a target Ed01. He is a victim of having too many similar players in the team all capable of scoring or assisting more than Henderson. It is not his fault that club accumulated one Henderson every 6 months. Someone upstairs takes the blame.
Marko Grujic looks a better version for me atm. Always an eye for pass and ever present in and around the opposition 6 yard box. He is going to score goals of given proper chances.

{Ed001's Note - like who? The only player similar is Wijnaldum, to a degree, and he is not fit to lace Hendo's boots.}

7.) 24 Aug 2016 11:01:01
I think if we are to be successful, however that is, Henderson will be an integral part to that. I think Klopp is being a little naive (though perhaps Can and Grujic aren't quite ready to be selected just yet) in going for players that offer nothing in midfield based on them offering 'energy'. I think the team should be more balanced, Origi should start most games, and at least two effective mids should play (Stewart? ) . This begs the question why was Wijnaldum signed? That really makes no sense at all.

8.) 24 Aug 2016 11:12:43
Ed01, James Milner last summer and Wijnaldum this summer. We buy one each every summer.

9.) 24 Aug 2016 19:43:02
Spot on, Peace. Hendo already convinced me when he refused to take the easy route and go to Fulham. He stayed, fought for his place, convinced his manager (the one who would have loved to see the back of him initially), worked hard, was integral in our title run (many argue that his suspension contributed to costing us the PL), and became LFC captain.

He is a model of work ethic, determination and a true pro. He continues to improve and work on his game as he`s not cocky and is very humble. because he doesn`t do Hollywood passes like SG nor shoot from 30 yards or doesn`t show "presence" (whatever that means) on the pitch, many (who never wanted him here to start with) are always on his back especially when we lose yet he gets no credit when we win.

Yesterday, he sent a perfect SG-esque ball into the box to Lallana who later bottled the header. Don`t hear anyone acknowledging that pass, do we? Frankly, I`m over it. If you don`t like Hendo, that`s your opinion but stop the unfounded criticisms as they have no basis in reality.

10.) 24 Aug 2016 22:46:17
Henderson is the guy that create the quick attacks. Everyone else in the midfield likes to run and hold on to the ball. Hendo picks it up deep and tries quick cutting balls. Yeah atm some of his passes are going astray but some are coming off and these can be truly dangerous and lead to goals. Our attacks and build up can be too slow and lead knowhere (Burnley) and hendo is most of the time the only one trying to start risky yet potentially rewarding play.

11.) 26 Aug 2016 10:04:13
Love Henri and believe he is key to our season. However he need to step up as our captain.

A key area for improvement imho is his partnership with Can. At the moment Hendo seems to be playing too tentatively and is behind the learning curve in terms of position off the ball with respect to the his teammates.

There are also times with the ball where he defaulted to passing back, instead of turning and linking up with more advanced players. You can see some examples in this piece: goo.gl/DQ1y4Z

But Hendo proved he has the right attitude and work ethics to make himself even better, and I look forward to seeing a finished version of him dominating the midfield and play for us in years to come.

clyne is decent in defense but pretty hopeless attacking wise. always didn't take advantage of the good position he got into

RageReds

{Ed001's Note - how is he decent in defence? He was badly at fault for the goal, his positioning is terrible and he is extremely weak in the air. He needs to learn to look before crossing as well, he has shown he can put the ball in good areas, but he needs to check there is anyone that can get to that area before crossing it. He is quick and strong and works hard, but he really needs to use his brain.}

his lack of pace is quite a concern though cause his positioning isn't that great.
