Are Watford still looking to sign markovic and any suitors for sakho or moreno.

Hull and Watford interested, £8m being quoted. Just rumours.

Keita and Vvd seems unattainable. Are we looking at.

Other CM options and CB options.

2.) 24 Jul 2017 17:47:38
LFC constantly scouts players for all positions.
The eds give us information via posts and Sharkopod.

Worth reading/ listening to them 🤝.

3.) 24 Jul 2017 17:50:17
Grujic and Gomez.

4.) 24 Jul 2017 17:57:20
As per sharkpod, very few that we were looking at are still available.
Is OX still an option.

5.) 24 Jul 2017 18:57:04
Where is sharkopod available bro?

{Ed002's Note - You can search for it.}

I am not sure what has keita shown in one season that he commands 80 million transfer fee.
Is he as good as coutinio in terms of ability abit a different position. Is he as good as iniesta was?

REDS_TILL_DEATH

1.) 22 Jul 2017 09:11:20
Forget about the money . Look around you at all the transfer fees.

Keita is a very very good player.

2.) 22 Jul 2017 09:30:44
Reds till death im really sorry im sure your a great bloke. But this is a terrible post!

3.) 22 Jul 2017 09:42:46
When you are talking £50m for Kyle walker and Swansea are demanding £50m for Sigurdson. you get where I'm going!

{Ed002's Note - It is nothing to do with the price of other players.}

4.) 22 Jul 2017 10:11:48
He's definitely not as good as Iniesta.

5.) 22 Jul 2017 10:29:11
not many can be anywhere near as good as iniesta to be fair.

6.) 22 Jul 2017 10:31:39
Iniesta is one off the all time greats.

Impossible to replace,

Players are often described as "great" but in Iniestas case it is a true discription.

Little Phil will never be as good.

and little Phil is a top player.

7.) 22 Jul 2017 12:27:47
The OP is absolutely correct. Keita is not worth 70m and even RBL know that cos his release clause is 48m euros reportedly altho, it is not applicable to non bundesliga teams. Ed is also correct that it has nothing to do with other players' prices. Clubs are free to put a price on their players based on what they think he is worth. The same for RBL. They only put in a 70m on him cos they don't want to sell. Other clubs were interested in him but walked away from the deal due to the price but alas, only LFC can't take a hint.

8.) 22 Jul 2017 12:41:34
He is seen as an investement for the next 5-6 years. Just like we signed Solanke. I would rather spend on one Keita than £30 mill every year on a new player!

9.) 22 Jul 2017 12:49:44
Reds til death it's not simply one season, he's been a good player for the last three years or so with continued improvement at each level he's played at.

10.) 22 Jul 2017 14:08:49
BScouse,

We are not spending the money for one season! You are souring rubbish! He is a 5-6 year solid investment. An asset whose value will rise every year and not decline! You know nothing why club buys player!

Why did we buy Grujic! There was hardly any need to buy someone from Brazil who wouldn't displace the first team yet we paid over the odds to land the player!

Is rodgers applying Trail and Error with Strikers and CBs?

Since he has come in

we have bought

Borini
Yesil
Strud.
Aspas
Alberto.L
Lambert
Balotelli
Origi

Now he wants Inngs.
None of above he fancies and keeps on buying more.

Same with CB.

Toure
Sakho
Illori
Lovren.

tbh looks like instead of careful scouting and identifying the right players in the right positions - we just buy loads and hope some work.

Like instead of carefully aiming and taking your team to hit a bullseye in darts you just grab a handful of darts and lob them at the board - which has proven more successful for me but tends to annoy everyone near the board.

2.) I can see Liverpool going in for him, because of his age, potential and future resale value. The thing is, by doing this we are constantly stockpiling players that we don't really need. Instead of buying players that will help the team challenge now we are buying players that could end up being worth a few bob in the future. This will a) limit the chances that our youth players will get b) give Rodgers more players to work with that he doesn't want, and c) create an unhappy atmosphere with so many players not getting a chance.

I would prefer to give Sinclair a try (obviously BR would never take the risk)

4.) Nothing wrong with Ings, first top flight season in a tipped for relegation lower side and has 7 league goals.

We got anyone with that record, within a side that creates twice as many attacking chances? Anyone?

5.) I don't think I've ever seen strud play before ;)

6.) Omega_Man, Andy Carroll was similarly talked about before we signed him too. Rickie Lambert too did quite well for Southampton, who like Burnley, came up from the lower leagues. Not exact comparisons, but there are enough similarities. How did those guys do?

7.) 30 Jan 2015 16:49:48
I think he is more versatile than Carroll & Lambert; I can see him as a good upgrade to Borini (his playstyle is similar borini's when he was at Roma). But I still think BR must work with what he has; we can't continue spendind and spending wrong because of the inablity of the manager & the scouts. The best for us is to wait until summer to rethink our transfers & management decisions. If we still want Ings after some offloads, It'll be ok. If in the way Sinclair, Dunn, or any other young striker gets a chance it will be even better.

8.) Ings would work in our formation.
That's what annoys me about some of our signings.
Mignolet- a keeper who can't kick.
Lovren- a CB who plays on the same side as Sahko who was already here.
Lambert- not mobile enough for our system.
Balotelli- Does not fit our system.
There is a pattern developing here.
We keep buying players who were never going to fit our style of play.
Madness.

9.) 30 Jan 2015 19:28:57
To answer you AG. Carroll has a poor lifestyle for an athlete covered here many times and I can only imagine Ings a polar opposite of drinking and smoking. Homework wasn't done on Carroll looking at how it turned out.

Lambert? Lambert is 10 yrs older and cost £4m. Ings for free every day of the week

Southampton were hardly the struggling side Burnley are last season when Lambert did well.

Again, who has 7 league goals for us this season, consider our team creates much more then Burnley. If there is one, is he valued at free or tribunal minimum?

10.) To repy to you Omega Man, Carroll was used as an example of buying a player who has only played half a seasona t PL, but looked great initially. Ings is similar in that aspect.

Ings won't be a free, even int he summer. There will be a compensation which will take it very close to Lambert's fee.

Southamton were every bit the struggling side in their first season back in the PL (2 years back) like Burnley are this season and Lambert was their main man in scoring terms.

The last point cannot be argued quantitatively. While it may seem Ings will do better in a team that creates more chances, the same could have been said of Lambert or Carroll at LFC rather than Southampton or Newcastle. Again, how did that go?

With all due respect to the lad, he is decent player, but not what we need. We also have Origi coming in next season who will need time to bed in. We have too many players of this sort (good or decent but not outstanding or match winners) - Lambert, Aspas, Borini, balotelli, Origi and now Ings. Anyone stand out?

11.) Football does not work like that. Just because you score some goals for a lesser team doesn't mean you will bang them in because you have a better team behind you creating the chances. A lot of players simply can't make the step up to a bigger team. If it was the case Borini would be scoring goals for fum which isn't the case!

How is BR ruining the club

1) Wasting lots and lots of money :
And i am not talking this year.

A) Borini, Aspas, Alberto, Assaidi, Sahin, sakho, are all his signed players and he does not fancy them.
Thats 50M+ There.

B) Rest of signings bar Stru and Cout to an extent are Average at best.
Allen, Migs, etc Another 50M+ down.

2) Horrific Transfers.
A) Signing not so needed players.
Lallana, Balo, Lovren, Manquillo were they actually more needed then say a Gk, CM, Brilliant Striker?

B) Moving players on, those that can contribute
Sakho, Can, Wisdom, Agger, kelly, Suso all out of team.
Are current crop better then these

3) Media image of himself and now the players and club.
He should appoint a PR for himself to do the talking.

4) On Pitch selections.
if you sign the players atleast play them, and give them a chance.

5) Tactics or lack of it.

6) No Promotion of youth or using the squad correctly.
