Moreno deal agreed apparently, plus Moreno not at the game. Make of it what you will. £12 million is the quoted sum by the way.

Views from Ed001?

{Ed001's Note - I am just doing the match report now mate.}

Ex Liverpool players have done alright so far tonight (sort of)

Torres sent off. Suarez maliciously kicking a player.

2.) 06 Apr 2016 09:53:30
Or if you want to put it another way Torres scored a great goal and Suarez scored two goals and won the game for Barca.

3.) 06 Apr 2016 11:15:00
Or if you want to put it a more balanced way, Torres scored a great goal then disabled his team's chance of getting a result. Suarez won the game for Barcelona whilst showing the world what an immature thug he is. Both are near the bottom of my list of favourite ex-LFC players.

{Ed001's Note - to be fair to Torres, while his actions were idiotic, against any team other than Barca they would not have resulted in a second yellow then. In fact there were numerous worse challenges, and one almost identical, made by Barca players throughout the game which resulted in no action being taken by the ref. That is not to excuse his actions, but it does show how much the refs favour the catalan cheats. Busquets in particular, whose main skill, other than being able to kid the world that he is a wonderful defensive midfielder despite being destroyed every time he actually has to do any defending, is diving, gets away with countless fouls and dives a match. I really detest watching Barca play.}

4.) 06 Apr 2016 13:41:26
So would you rather watch Barca, Real Madrid or lawn bowls, Ed?

{Ed001's Note - depends on if either Barca and Real Madrid are losing or not?}

5.) 07 Apr 2016 00:18:26
Ed, Remember how he got Thiago Motta sent off, feigning injury during the Barcelona vs Inter CL semi final in 2009/ 2010? Shameful and pathetic. These refs and media have been fooled into thinking that these Barcelona players are like happy little lambs who wouldn't hurt a fly. They are just as aweful and I'll be rooting for AM sand I was happy RM gave them the business on their own turf.

{Ed001's Note - Busquets is the worst proponent of the art of diving in football these days. He will end up badly hurt one day and no one will believe him and it will be difficult to have sympathy for the *censored*.}

Ed001, what do you make of the draw?

Piledriver

{Ed001's Note - I think we all knew it was going to happen before it did. I am glad though, it is exciting as hell and puts us back in the forefront of the media coverage of footie round the world. Out here they have barely mentioned the Champions League in the football coverage, when normally it is all about it. They even interrupted the Tues/Weds coverage with reports about us and United in the build up. Since the moment Klopp came in we have been front and centre of all the sports reporting, this game will keep us there whatever the results.}

1.) 18 Mar 2016 15:53:07
The one tie i did not want is the one we got, i guess it was meant to be, but now its locked in i'm excited. Regardless of the result it really shows how far we have come in such a short few months. Not bashing rodgers but as a comparison i would never have expected us to get out the group stages much less knock out man u and be in a quarter final against dortmund.

Will the cup final defeat against city spur them on to win this competition? Well on recent evidence we are more than capable. I am with ron on this now, bring em on and let's topple them and get to the semi's.

2.) 18 Mar 2016 16:52:04
And hopefully, Ed, in a position to capitalize on some more commercial opportunities. If nothing else, the so-called Klopp Effect has brought with it a spotlight which the club will hopefully take full advantage in their money-seeking (Mia) adventures! Facing Dortmund should only enhance that position, I would think.

Ahem.

Not to sound so cynically business-like! Haha!

As for playing his former team, it's a real test and opportunity for him and the club to show what they've got.

{Ed001's Note - they should take advantage of it, but the commercial office has shown no signs of doing so at all out here in the Middle East. It is still almost impossible to get any Liverpool merchandise in the area. The commercial dept is hopeless. I tried to get in touch with them, but they don't return calls. Hopeless really.}

3.) 18 Mar 2016 17:08:07
The merchandise department is a mess. I still haven't understood why in country of a billion where we have a significant following can't the ckub be concerned opening about a frigging shop. I share ed001s problems here. Getting any merchandise here is a pain . And then you see Manchester United fully capitalizing on it in several asian countries.

{Ed001's Note - the thing is I know a whole raft of sports shops here are desperate to get their hands on anything Liverpool-related. There are sports shops here that are selling kits from prior to us signing for Warrior still!}

The more alarming thing is that Coutinho is the same age as Salah, only a few days between them! Keeping a hold of Coutinho will add to the potential success of this transfer window.

I see where both sides are coming from, but I watch Firmino a lot during matches and he gets more involved in games with Coutinho than when he is isolated up front. Yesterday, most of his play was with Milner or making runs to make space for others. Either way, he is a vital component that needs more help in these kind of matches so that we can play to his strengths.

I would love the two Manchester clubs to fail to get top 4 after their hype at the start of the season. Saying that, City will probably come back into their game and Liverpool still have a lot to do.
