I don't watch much Bundesliga. but what is the difference between Dahoud game as opposed to Brannigans?

Penguin

1.) 30 Jun 2016 14:50:09
He's probably slightly ahead in terms of development. He's also a bit quicker across the ground and slightly more aggressive. I hate to say this because I love Brannagan but has got everything to his game that Cameron has and more. But not £25mil more.

2.) 30 Jun 2016 15:05:37
His passing range is nowhere near as good as Brannagans. Neither is his defensive awareness or tackling. Brannagan is far more aggressive in the tackle.

Dahoud has a better shot, better dribbling skills, and a better final ball.

Dahoud is quicker, but Brannagan is far stronger.

I don't see the point in spending £25m on Dahoud when we have Brannagan who is already attracting interest from Barcelona such is his quality. If Dahoud was £10m it might be worth it, but you don't pay £25m for a 20 year old off the back of 1 good season.

3.) 30 Jun 2016 18:26:04
Comparing the two is an insult to dahoud.

4.) 30 Jun 2016 19:30:34
If you genuinely believe that Jezza, I would bet my house you have neve extensively watched either of them. Barcelona aren't interested in Dahoud. They do fancy Brannagan though. Because they have coaches and scouts who look for technical ability and tactical awareness rather than just players who are fast and can shoot well.

Dahoud is potentially a great player, but so is Brannagan. The only difference between them is that Dahoud is a year older and further down his path of development. Brannagan has equal if not better potential.

5.) 30 Jun 2016 21:38:34
MK scouser

Beg to disagree, the main difference is that Dahoud has a fancy sounding overseas name, therefore he has to be the Mutts Nuts.

Eds, Does Allan inclusion in Brazil U20 team help in getting a work visa?

Penguin

{Ed002's Note - Certainly.}

1.) 04 Mar 2016 02:01:05
Can anyone explain the problems regarding visa and work permits that happened to a number of players?

{Ed002's Note - There are certain criteria that need to be met in order for a non-EU citizen to qualify for a work permit to play in England. Right now Allen and Awoniyi do not qualify.}

2.) 04 Mar 2016 10:44:41
suggest you search for "the situation with work permits is" - then you will find an Ed002 description of the English work permit criteria. (Although how these are different from country to country within the EU I do not know. )

{Ed002's Note - It has recently changed to a points based system in England so I should update it. It varies considerably across other EU nations and some individual countries already impose local limits, e.g. Italy by a quota system for purchases outside of the Italian league. Spain has the Cotonou Agreement where African and Caribbean players are not counted against non-EU quotas (due to the Kolpak ruling), Ukraine limits non homegrown players on the pitch to seven etc..}

First, I want to applaud those fans that left Anfield, early yesterday. There is no better way to get the owners attention than showing them there actions might cause them to lose revenue. Yet there is something you must understand about FSG. They are business men FIRST and they will attempt make a profit one way or the other. I live in the States and have seen how they operate. Before John Henry took over the Boston Red Sox he owned the Florida Marlins. This would be similar in size to a club like Swansea. While in Miami he tried to build a new stadium yet local politicians refused to fund the stadium themselves. The result was John Henry did not spend a dime on players. This resulted in the Florida Marlins being one of the worst teams in all of Baseball. Yet throughout this time he still managed a profit through Revenue Sharing. When he took over the Red Sox he did the opposite and invested in player personnel. The difference was they understood they could make a larger profit by making the team competitive for titles. My point is this FSG will make a profit one way or other. They will either obtain revenue by increasing sales of Memorabilia and making larger profits on tickets or they will simply reduce spending on players thus reducing cost. This is not a criticism of FSG I think they are good owners but they want a profit like any owner. I understand that a balance must be met with generating revenue and reducing cost but that it is one that must be met. You also have to keep in mind the deft the club is saddle with that must be paid off. In the end realize FSG are not fans but Business men and as Ian Arye stated it could be worse we could have hicks and gillette back. Ed's, If you believe I am wrong I would love to hear your opinion. YNWA.

1.) 07 Feb 2016 13:32:20
IA saying things could be worse and we could have and G as owners, is a pathetic excuse for FSG and a race to the bottom in terms of accountability for their inherent blunders.

2.) 07 Feb 2016 13:36:00
Football clubs are without a doubt a business. FSG have delivered their word on the stadium so it is not like they have done nothing for the club. Look at Moores who only cared about his own pockets too. H and G who leveraged money from the banks onto LFC which almost spelled the end for this club.

Obviously LFC owe FSG a whole lot of money and they will get it back some way or another. You spend money in order to make money. That is the norm.

The ticket price hike is a massive slap in the face to the paying fan. At the end of the day I am not sure there is much that can be done about the situation. You either pay or stay away. I think it is fair to say that those seats will be filled by those who are willing to cough up the money.

Gone are the days where football was a sport. Money has ruined the game and there is no way the situation can be repaired.

3.) 07 Feb 2016 16:23:40
Unless I come into possession about £2bn and I buy and fund the club, I don't see us getting an owner who won't ultimately look for a profit. With that in mind, FSG have been very good in terms of providing money for the club in my books. They made bad appointments and that's resulted in the money not being invested particularly wisely, but it was put up and I don't think that can be disputed.

That being said, I have no problem with yesterday's protest, either. It might only be a small increase on some tickets, but ticket prices in England have been getting silly for quite some time and enough is enough somewhere along the line.

4.) 07 Feb 2016 17:10:30
Well I am Liverpool forever, but sad to say that I will be watching matches from the bar stool or from home, I am not paying big money to go in the pockets of footballers who at the moment are not good enough .

{Ed002's Note - I am sure the club will find someone else to take up you space.}

03 Feb 2016 19:41:57
Ed002, Can you explain to me the difference between Pochettino and Klopp philosophy. The reason why I ask is because you have been critical of Klopp style of play. Yet Tottenham have been successful implementing a pressing game. I was curious what makes one style better than the other.

Penguin

{Ed002's Note - Yes, of course. One has learned that at the upper end of the game you need to adapt and change your stype depending on the circumstances. The other has yet to learn that valuable lesson.}

1.) 03 Feb 2016 20:49:40
I would say Poch is a better manager because of learning with Southampton and rectifying any mistakes he made during training, tactics etc that is why tottenham are doing so well and he has had a extra year in the premier league hopefully Klopp can learn like ed said.

2.) 03 Feb 2016 21:04:17
Kloop is not a super hero he's talking over a average team with some good players. He will need to sign a couple of players .

3.) 03 Feb 2016 20:57:10
Sorry ed just to expand on this a little. I have watched the majority of our games and since end of nov time there has been a definite switch away from pressing tactics. We are now dropping off a lot more when other teams have possession. I would love if someone were able to give a detailed tactical analysis of us at the moment.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp let Gerrard in to the training sessions causing the players to get hyperactive waiting to get him to sign autographs and of course, as we all knew, results plummeted. That of course was not Klipperty's stupidity but the fault of Rodgers. Again as we all know. Now we are riding the "didn't have a pre-seaon to get them fit" excuse for the unacceptable performances - and "the players get too tired playing more than a game a week so they have to stay in bed and recover rather than train". In general terms the Liverpool fans find the results acceptable and justifiable because they cannot see that everyone is falling short. There is a certain futility in trying to explain what a chameleon looks like to a blind person.}

4.) 03 Feb 2016 20:59:30
Players make a difference also . And a reliable goalkeeper helps . Let's get coutinhio and a couple of strikers back playin, specially Sturridge, and see if we can finish the season with a bit of run . Win a cup, or 3! And get a bit of confidence to go into next season with . With a few new faces hopefully .

{Ed002's Note - You have an incredibly naive view, but heck, you are a Liverpool fan.}

5.) 03 Feb 2016 21:12:21
Better manager 😂
No disrespect to Poch but he's probably got 1 Manager of the month award whereas Klopp has major honours mate.
He's not the better manager, Klopps only been at the club half a season, give him time and he'll add more major trophies to his list, no doubt about it.

{Ed002's Note - Of course, I forgot. A few years ago Klipperty did win a few things. And don't forget his side are nailing Spurs right now. Sadly, I have to say that what Liverpool did 40 years ago may get the fans damp but it is not a guide to what is happening now. Klipperty pre-bugger, fand heraus, did well for two or three years.}

6.) 03 Feb 2016 21:22:49
ed, you almost sound like a liverpool fan. converting from the darkside?

{Ed002's Note - I am not a particular supporter of any one club - I have a preference for Chelsea but am not worried if Liverpool or Stoke are doing well.}

7.) 03 Feb 2016 21:48:06
Naive in what way?

{Ed002's Note - You are deflecting and looking for excuses - try looking at it objectively - maybe pretend you are critiquing it but not as a supporter.}

8.) 03 Feb 2016 22:06:41
What has he won? 😎.

9.) 03 Feb 2016 22:07:37
Okay Ed002, but you cannot seriously tell me Poch is a better manager than Klopp.

Trophies are everything in football for a manager. They're the be-all and end-all so tell me what major (or any) trophies Poch has won.

Klopp, even if you quite rightly pointed out a few years back, has won multiple major trophies.

{Ed002's Note - I disn't say he was - I answered the question. You need to get over this comparison syndome.}

10.) 03 Feb 2016 22:18:30
A preference for Chelsea. Jesus Christ quite possibly the most disliked horrible club of all time.

{Ed002's Note - Sure, whateer you want.}

11.) 03 Feb 2016 22:19:24
Ed002, just out of curiousity, what would you like us to say?

Yes I suppose we are making excuses for Klopp, but what would you rather have us do? Call for his head already?!

We're trying to look on the bright side of things and yes, make excuses to make us feel better. We're football fans for god sake.

Try not to get too upset with us venting, I'm afraid it'll never stop (ask Ed001) and I'm positive we're not the only ones like it.

Whilst I agree letting Gerrard train wasn't the best idea. However it's not earth shattering as you're making it out to be. It's not unheard of players of US clubs training with Prem teams over the Xmas period.

I realise that a few members represent the labotomised shitlark community, however, there's no need for the rude manner sometimes. It'll only wind everyone up.

On a lighter note, thank you to you and all other Ed's for keeping us updated through yet another transfer window, you guys do a fantastic job.

{Ed002's Note - I would like a rationale arument against what I say rather than deflection or blaming someone else. We appreciate you thanking the Eds but the reality is the others do nothing at all. It is me uou need to thank.}

12.) 03 Feb 2016 22:38:56
Poch is a very good manager but when Klopp was dominating Germany and was terrorizing the whole of Europe including the most expensive side in Europe biting the dust under with a BVB side under his tutelage, Poch was learning his trade, getting the sack at Espanyol and still doesn't have a sausage to his name. The day he's won things like Klopp has, then we can discuss. Until then, compare what is comparable instead of using false equivalences to support snide digs at your own manager.

Ed, I just want to thank you for all the work you gentlemen do to keep us inform. My question to you is, with Skrtel and Toure both leaving the club. Do you see us making a bid for a center back or are they waiting to find out Sakho suspension length before making a final decision?

Ed, is our goalies reaction to crosses down to coaching? It seems that it doesn't matter who we have in goal. They can't deal with crosses.

Ed002 can you clarify what you mean? Is this a Klopp trademark?

Penguin

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you mean by "trademark" nor what you expect clarification over. There is no secret that Klipperty gets frustrated with players and the media and occasionally lets loose.}
