Hi Eds, Just seen a Daily Mirror article that we are close to agreeing terms with Luan from Gremio.
I assume this should be taken with a pinch of salt? Cheers.
{Ed002's Note - Last summer Gremio's Luan has been subject to enquiries from Leicester, Rennes and Milan but no offers have been made by any of these sides. Barcelona were keen to take him as a fourth choice striker but were put off by a very significant asking price and a request for him to stay at Gremio through to January - hence their moving for Valencia's Alcacer (who ironically will likely be replaced by a player from Barcelona). Others who watched the player in the Olympics including Manchester United, Arsenal, Benfica, Liverpool and Juventus do not see value in the asking price but will likely keep an eye on his progress. An offer from China at the end of 2015 failed due to significant wage demands from the player's representatives - who I would advise clubs to be very wary of. }

Ed001, I read a post on hear yesterday when you were answering a question about players who could improve our squad for next season. You said Bertrand was likely anyway so is it likely he will join or have misinterpreted something?

{Ed001's Note - I meant it was likely we will try and sign him, not sure if he would want to join us or not though. I mean he is moving because he doesn't get a game, he might see joining us as putting him at risk of still not getting a game.}

Ed, any truth that Liverpool could be about to Kostas Mitroglou? Are we even interested? Thanks. {Ed002's Note - Mitroglou has attracted a lot of interest with Mainz, Inter and Dortmund declaring an interest in the player. Certainly Arsenal has had the player scouted and I suspect others like Liverpool have done the same.}

Hi Ed002, felt like you would be the best to answer this. There seems to be a bit of confusion online as to whether or not there will be a 2019 FIFA Club World Cup? I know there new format for the tournament starts in 2021 but will there be one this year?

On the Liverpool Echo site is says that it looks like Fifa have confirmed plans for a 2019 Club World Cup.

I've seen on Sky Sports that they've listed is as one of the clubs to break their transfer record this summer with the Mane deal.
Sorry if this is a stupid/ obvious question ed but was the Mane deal really worth more than the Carroll one? Cheers.

Ed001, although I'm not suggesting him as a possible replacement, what are your opinions on Eddie Howe as a coach? He's done excellent work with Bournmouth (did well with Burnley too I think) and is clearly highly thought of.
{Ed001's Note - he seems an excellent coach, he works on improving players, rather than just buying finished products. Problem is that he has yet to be tested at a higher level, so right now it would be a huge risk, but then we took a risk appointing Shanks and Paisley.}

What do you think will happen with Gerrard at the end of the season mate? I was reading his interview published by the a Telegraph tonight and he spoke about it being in the clubs hand if he'll be here next year (last year of his contract). I remember him saying something in another interview not too long ago that he would be open to the idea of a new challenge, and I'm not sure if that's to do with him not being sure on his future, or whether he actually wants to.
Do you think he'll get a new deal or set off for pastures new? (Apologies for long post)
{Ed001's Note - I expect him to get a new contract, though it is not certain in what kind of role that would be, there were suggestions of a player coach role.}

What did he do in Dubai Ed that damaged the clubs reputation? (if you don't mind/ are allowed to say)
