Grino, I've been thinking exactly the same thing for a few weeks.

The only thing missing is the momentum we had built up and the form and full fitness of some players. It's going to be tough to win the league but in terms of squad on a player by player basis, it's better now than it was when we won week in week out until the rest of the league had given up.

Interesting really, if Celtic and Rangers weren't in the league it would give other teams the chance to win leagues and cups.

Massive drop in money from attendances when the Old Firm come to town 3 or 4 times a season and TV interest would drop.
Less money, lower wages, lower standard? Balance that with winning competitions.

If the six clubs had left would Everton fans be pleased with the greater chance to win or annoyed that the standard would drop?

One thing in Wilsons favour is he is scoring goals at each level he's playing at. If he he can carry on scoring he'll get game time even if other areas of his game need work.
I think a loan next season would be best for him.

Maybe Wd but I think we'd have changed gear at some stage anyway. We may not even have needed to!

I've just watched the first 30 minutes again. I don't think Arsenal were in it at all. They had a clearly offside goal disallowed but other than that nothing. Whist we only created a couple of half chances we looked by far the better side and it was just a matter time.

Think Carragher driving the fact that the managers arguing changed the game is incorrect but does make him look like he knows what he's talking about because he called it before it happened.

{Ed014's Note - I think it’s safe to say we weren’t in it at any stage but up until that flash point you were just idling, after that you just changed gear and that was that.

Don't forget Dan Agger. Might change my name.

Also think Stensgaard was Danish. There probably more.

Haha you had me totally agreeing until the kit comment.

From the title winning squad we've replaced Gini with Thiago, Lovren with Konate, Lallana with Minamino and Brewster with Jota. Williams, Elliot and Jones are a couple of years older and more experienced.

In terms of depth it's difficult to argue were not in a much better position.

For me it's form, injuries and momentum that's more important than getting extra players in now.

The problem with offside decisions are that if they are close, they are close. Change the rules to just the feet and you'll still get ridiculously close decisions. Change the rules to include a margin of error and there will still be decisions based around mms.

VAR stops fans and players from feeling the rush of adrenaline that scoring a goal gave us. If a goal goes in we get that initial buzz but it's replaced instantly with the anxiety that the goal will be disallowed and if it's allowed we are relieved. It's ruined the game.
