So there we have it the blueprint of how we should play as shown by the under18s this morning v man Utd.press high for 90 minutes as aTEAM and cause mistakes everywhere.Brendan should make the team for tomorrow watch this video and replicate.By the way two of our best players this morning were 15 years of age Woodburn and coyle and the result 4-0 to the Reds well done to all.

watched it as well best liverpool performance i have seen this season from any liverpool team ??? just like the old days.
"defend at the front and attack from the back" it applied many years ago and still applies today as above result proved.

Watching youth cup tonight and we really can't defend at any level.the manager is way out of his depth and tactically naive.we have so much attacking talent that may leave due to the club falling short.oh how we miss rudolfo.

Are you insinuating that these lads will leave because we haven't won the fa youth cup? Because although I'm sure they all love to win, it's pretty naive to have that train of thought.
It's about player development as much as it is winning.
Infact, just look to our latest u21 game against United. Yes we lost, but look to the players on the team sheets. experienced pros such as valdes and Anderson being played, were as we send out 17/18/19 year old lads. If that isn't a test of their abilities and a step in the right direction in terms of their own personal accomplishments and player development, then fair enough, maybe they should leave and sit on the under 21 bench there, ya know, because they won.
Unless you know what to qualify what you said, in terms of pushing them through? Then, that's an age old debate for this site in my opinion! Also remember this was the under 18s. If these lads are expecting to be first teamers already then maybe their ambition is overcedeing their current ability.
I have no doubt this will wrack up a few disagrees, but despite that, try to remember what the primary point of clubs acadamies are. Whether you think we're achieving that is a whole other (and old) debate.
