Shall I just assume all the noise about Reus is just a surplus of nonsense spewing out from Twitter and being regurgitated by 'journolists'?

Hi eds,
What's the craic with Shaqiri, have we any genuine interest or is it just the usual transfer gossip? Can't find anything using the search, I'm assuming its nonsense but just thought I'd ask you guys out of curiosity.
Cheers.

NbRed

{Ed001's Note - it seems he is on the fringes and considering his future, so he is being linked with everyone, on the premise that when he does move somewhere they can say they got it right and conveniently forget the 30 other clubs they linked him with. Right now, I don't know of any interest from us, though it depends on so much. I wouldn't rule him out entirely, but I have no idea if he would be interested in a move to us, which seems unlikely.}

Hi eds,
Is there any truth to the rumours that Chelsea are planning on hijacking the Salah transfer(assuming of course that the £10mil Liverpool negotiations are true)? Think it would break my heart to lose another target rivals lol.
Cheers for any info you may have to share on the matter.

NbRed

{Ed001's Note - I don't have a clue, so used to Ed002's input on Chelsea, I have stopped even trying to find anything out on them as it always ends up just being the same.}

Hi eds,

Is there any chance of us making a move to bring back Ince? He's a player I rate very highly and would be a nice option on the wing over Moses and a cheaper option if we're being priced out of a move for Salah.

Cheers guys.

NbRed

{Ed002's Note - The chance was there in the summer, now, I think not.}

Hi guys, maybe ed02 could answer as a Chelsea fan if you have any info. Is there anything to the rumours of Chelsea planning to bid £65m for Suarez in January? I know the media goes wild at this time of year stirring up stories but he was apparently photographed in London today with his wife and the nerves are now kicking in that he could leave. Its a terrifying thought to lose him halfway through our best start to a season in about 4/5 years and with Sturridge and Gerrard out over the important xmas period losing Suarez to a rival would be disastrous. Would appreciate any thoughts you have on this and keep up the good work, cheers.

NbRed

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea is one of the cubs that Suarez's folks have approached. As far as I know they have no interest.}

Hi guys,
This is probably one for Ed01. With the protest at Saturday's game, is that the start of sustained pressure on the owners in the sense that even if they were to back down on the ticket prices and offer a more reasonable price that this doesn't end here? Is this just the tipping point for fan's frustration and even if ticket prices are resolved it is now a case of using the ticket protest as a platform to force the owners to address all the issues such as the general running of the club and transfer policies etc? In your opinion, is there a way to settle this with the owners if necessary changes were to be put in place to develop and sustain growth and success for the club or is it a case of burnt bridges and the owners just needing to go at this point?
Cheers for any info you have, it just seems like this is a very critical time for the club and I'm just trying to understand the scale of the situation a bit better.

NbRed

{Ed001's Note - no this is about broken promises regarding the ticket prices, the matchday fan just wants reasonable prices, for both home and away fans, as people seem to have forgotten how the away fans are fleeced too.}

Short of FSG paying fans to attend games at Anfield nothing will placate Spirit of Shankly. They're run by hard left trade unionists and as ed002 says their goal is forcing out the owners. I'm sure they will have their wish soon and we can enjoy Massimo Cellino as lfc owner.

2.) 08 Feb 2016 14:58:56
They are also the same group that welcomed FSG with open arms after the Hicks and Gillette debacle.

3.) 08 Feb 2016 15:03:43
Nothing like distracting from the issue.

Hi Eds,
What is the deal with Balotelli? I know he has had a terrible season but surely this isn't a huge surprise to Liverpool, Rodgers even admitted it was a gamble when we signed him. The point I am getting at is that we've had worse players than Balotelli who were treated better than this when the club finally lost patience with them, so why is there so much venom behind Liverpool's approach to offloading him, has he done something horrible behind the scenes that we don't know about? Obviously I want him to move on but I would rather it was done with a bit more dignity than cropping him out of 'world class' photos and dropping him from pre season squads against the likes of swindon. I just feel like Liverpool need to grow up a bit and realise that the world is watching stuff like this and we can't continue to preach the 'Liverpool way' and sing 'You'll Never Walk Alone' while publicly getting on like children. What is going on with the people making these decisions?

Sorry if that was more rant than question, but would appreciate any insight into what is going on.

Cheers.

NbRed

{Ed001's Note - he causes trouble behind the scenes. The guy deserves everything he gets, because he brings it all on himself while whining about how it is not his fault.}

1.) 31 Jul 2015 12:18:00
I think he's been fined at least 4 times. I can't remember what they're all for.I think one was for not turning up to training,another was for bringing his dogs to training and letting them empty their bowels at melwood and another for the instagram photo(unsure). Among many other things. He's not a good presence and should have never been bought.
I said at the time I couldn't get behind such a lazy player who's selfish,irresponsible and quite frankly a T*sspot. Balotelli is nothing but bad news,and a below average player. You can't ''back'' some one like that in my book,to do so is irresponsible,and shows why we are where we are as a club.

2.) 31 Jul 2015 12:52:41
Cheers for the reply Ed. I just want to put it out there that I wasn't backing Balotelli's future in the squad, far from it. I never wanted him as did the majority of Liverpool fans but for whatever mad reason we bought him, knowing what he was like. I just wish we could keep a lot of that nonsense behind the scenes as he becomes a less attractive option for teams when we're acting like he doesn't exist while slapping a 10+Mil price tag on him. I suppose if isolating him is a means to an end then fair enough but it would be prudent to just cut out loses, take the financial hit and move on if it'll remove a destructive force from the players who are actually committed.

3.) 31 Jul 2015 13:20:39
You cannot force anyone to leave when he still has time on his contract, so I think the club is doing this to make sure he doesn't decide to stay and make the most of his chance to play for us still.

4.) 31 Jul 2015 14:46:05
This is modern football
For me it's the same as when fans moan about players wanting to leave - they are vilified and called mercenaries and money grabbers
However clubs act the same way when they want to move on players often they have less respect

At least when a player wants out they still put in 100% on the pitch

Hi Eds, I know every transfer differs in complexity but I was wondering if any you guys could shed any light on why it generally takes so long for us to Complete a signing. City seemed to breeze through them with Sterling and Delph for example, from when a price is agreed I mean. Compared to Benteke at the moment for us with it still on going since we agreed a price with villa. Do we bumble about during this process or are we generally more thorough with everything? Just thought you guys might be the ones to help me understand what goes during this period a bit better. Cheers.

NbRed

{Ed001's Note - our medicals are more thorough, which holds up the process by a day or two.}

1.) 17 Jul 2015 20:43:09
Sterling saga ran on for ages man,

2.) 17 Jul 2015 23:36:31
From price being agreed to Sterling posing with a City shirt was pretty quick was my point @Welshboydave.
Cheers ed.

3.) 18 Jul 2015 01:36:35
Is benteke even in the UK at the movement?

16 Apr 2015 15:57:55
Hi Eds,
I know a lot of our summer transfer activity will depend on Rodgers still being in charge (personally I would like him to still be there, as disappointing as this season has been), but surely there are plans, if not only just an intention, to offload the likes of Borini, Lambert, Mario, Aspas, perhaps even Markovic etc? With these players apparently being attack minded, will this not allow us to go for maybe one proven goalscoring midfielder and a proven striker then let youth make up the numbers? Also with Gerrard leaving, could his wages, along with the well paid dead weight mentioned above be a positive factor in targeting players, or our we still tightening our belt? How far are we from being healthy enough financially to lure the players we need without FFP concerns?
I know that was a bit long winded but cheers for reading and I'd really appreciate your thoughts.

NbRed

{Ed002's Note - I have explained what I know about players in and out and Liverpool's on going FFP problem.}

1.) 16 Apr 2015 20:03:27
Ed002, not qualifying for the CL, does that hurt LFC financially in our current state?

{Ed002's Note - Give me a break - loss of CL income, loss of additional TV revenue, loss of sponsorship, not being able to attract the 17 "marquee" signings Liverpool are planning this summer, yadda, yadda, yadda. What do you think?}

2.) 16 Apr 2015 20:35:01
How can you say you want Rodgers to be here next season then go on to list a group of players to offload all of whom rodgers signed,some of them for far too much.signing the wrong players or signing and not using them correctly is precisely why he should go

3.) 16 Apr 2015 20:42:03
Thank you for confirming what I am thinking Ed002.

Now try to explain that to those who believe "Rodgers deserves one more season"

{Ed002's Note - I think that is a different matter Max. The owners will continue to do what they perceive (under advice) to be the best for the club. They won't flip-flop in the same way as many of the fans do, it is a real big deal investing > investing > investing > no return.}

4.) 16 Apr 2015 21:01:16
If we change Manager now then we will be going through the "transitional period" again for the next 2 seasons though?

{Ed002's Note - Why, other clubs make seamless changes. It is a worry, but you don't keep a failing manager for that reason.}

5.) 16 Apr 2015 22:11:13
So why ed002 have Liverpool been relatively unsuccesful for years on end? Where have we, the club been going wrong?

{Ed002's Note - Because the fans start out wanting it to be someone else's problem. There is never an acceptance and time given - the fans suffer from the constant knee jerk and the owners have reacted. They need to be bullish going forward.}

6.) 16 Apr 2015 23:10:53
What good is a manager when all he manages is to make an embarrassment of us in the champions league? We had a group with Ludogorets and Basel. Has everyone already forgotten his ridiculous team selections for almost half a season? It's time for a change.

7.) 16 Apr 2015 23:50:42
Clubs constantly go through 'transitional' periods, its down to the strength of the club management to create the stability and consistency which brings success. Currently LFC doesn't have that strength.

Football is, like everything, in a constant state of change.

8.) 17 Apr 2015 01:10:32
Transition can no longer be applied when you have spent over 300m in the transfer window since 2011 with next to NOTHING to show for it. That is NOT change. That is epic failure and that is what needs to change.

Hi guys,

Just a quick question out of curiosity. When Cissokho came on yesterday he seemed to go into the attacking wide left position, is this where Rogers sees the player or was it just to let him test the water a bit without being thrown straight into frantic defending for the closing moments of the game, or was it a tactic for Rogers to show the owners how thin that position is by playing a full back there? I'm probably over analysing it but just thought I'd ask. Thought he was decent enough though, got stuck right in which is good to see.

Cheers.

When you look at our track record of bringing through youth recently I can understand him wanting to leave. I've lost count of the young prospects we've let rot on loan or in reserves so fair play to him for trying his luck somewhere else, just hope he's leaving with dignity though and not his agent stirring things for more money.

I would hate to see Gerrard come back so soon, he needs to spend a bit of time away from the club and come back when he's humble about his contribution over the years. Every time he's spoken to the press since he left I've lost a bit more respect for him.

I very much doubt Sterling is helpless in this situation. If he wants to stay he'll stay, if he wants to go he'll go, he's a big boy and he's entitled to choose either option. I hope he stays but I'm not overly worried about the whole thing, we'd get a decent fee for him and he's a very replaceable player. It's not like losing a one of a kind player like Suarez who can't be replaced with one like for like player, plenty of players do what Sterling does, and to be fair, do it better. I'm more nervous about Hendo's contact to be honest.

I can understand the protest to leave on the 77th minute on principle, although I'm sure there's a better way to get the point across but if people are willing to leave a game early to protest then fair play to them I suppose. I just can't for the life of me understand why people would buy a ticket then not go to a final, I'd kill for a ticket to that game. I just hope that if there's vacant seats at the final, the people who did't go aren't on here slating the team afterwards if we lose because it's not every season we're in a final and it's definitely something worthy of our support in my opinion.

The whole debate is nonsense, whether Migs was at fault or not doesn't matter to me. He's consistently made enough errors for me to have no faith in him ever being good enough, the Vardy goal is hardly the straw that broke the camel's back.

As soon as Moreno gets into a decent position to put a cross in, you just know he's going to fire in a low cross, straight into a defender and then struggle to get back down the pitch in time to deal with the counter attack. every time!

How come the entire world can see Liverpool are failing to deliver on the pitch and behind the scenes yet nothing seems to change for the better. Are the board really that stupid or arrogant and refusing to admit the whole thing is a mess? Why can't they just copy the business model of a successful club out there now and try to replicate that, at least until they achieve some kind of stability or a genuine plan for the direction they're looking to take the club? Sorry if that's a bit ranty, the whole thing is just eternal confusion.

The reality at the moment with Mignolet in the team is that we pretty much have to score at least one goal to come away with a draw in most matches, and when we're struggling for goals it's an uphill battle.
