Sorry mate but after 9 mins we had at least 6 chances to score. Slow start didn't expect Dortmund out the blocks so quick but hey we did it. Spanish teams hate fast teams well do them to. Honestly great night tonight best I've seen in years probably better than olympiakos.

If benteke has two legs and can walk and run then by that definition he is very mobile. The problem is he is not a natural striker and is either unwilling or not bright enough to make the necesarry runs in klopps system.
In a team solely focussed on him yes he will score goals but sadly his time is up in a liverpool shirt i think.
He is certainly not talentless, just a bad fit for this team. If origi can find a little of that selfish streak he will potentially become head and shoulders a better player than benteke in a few years because he has shown he is willing to learn.
Cant wait for ings to get back fit again, i feel he will florish under klopps guidance. Benteke can go for me but no need to bring in anyone else unless one of our other strikers also leave.

Skrtel has been playing with us for a long time. A very senior player for Liverpool. While I do believe he should be moved on, I do feel that we shouldn't be looking to get the most out of him, it will only limit the clubs who would and could purchase him.
As we did for Agger, Kuyt etc, I feel we should allow him to pick where he wants to play if we choose to move him on. At his age and form I don't think we are going to lose that much anyway.

The one thing that a lot of people seem to be forgetting re. Lucas. He IS NOT a natural CB. Now putting aside the should he / shouldn't he have made the tackle. I for one think he was EXCELLENT at cb. He was asked to a job there and did it bloody well. Just my two cents as it were.

Best player on the pitch last night for me, considering he was playing with a centre half and two centre mids who haven't played much football for Liverpool I thought he was brilliant. Positioning was excellent as well. I wouldn't blame him at all and I'd have no concerns if he was to start at centre half on Sunday.

The problem is, football is about the little details.
If you make a mistake and it leads to a goal, it's an issue, regardless of how well you've played.
I like Lucas, but he has a history of giving away needless free kicks in dangerous areas.
The head scratcher for me is at some point during a game he will clash heads with one of our own players challenging for the ball. I don't really blame him for this as he is the best headerer of the ball in our team and someone has to take responsibility, it just makes me laugh.

every time a corner is taken there all sorts of body contact but very rarely is afoul given. last night Lucas barely touched that player and he went down like he had been shot . In my opinion the ref was conned into giving a free kick. i know this sought of thing happens a lot so I don't blame Lucas at all.

I also thought Lucas was sensational. yesterday, our best player by far and usualy I do not admire him as some other people here. He still shouldn't have done this silly foul. I think in general we give a lot of fouls and free kicks because our defenders are not quick enough. All of them. but it is True Lucas is not a defender.

Well said evered. I've watched 3 games now against West Ham this year and the diving has been shocking. That was laughable last night the ref was falling for it.
Something needs doing about that. And the tackle on Stewart went un-noticed.
Thought Lucas was great last night by the way. Him and Ilori.

He played well last night no question but he makes that kind of tackle wherever he plays and it often costs us.
I like and respect him but do believe we could get better either as a DM or CB. If we don't sign anyone else then for me he plays but personally I would want an upgrade.

That wasn't a free kick. That was Lucas holding his position and his opponent diving in spectacular fashion. If the ref gets conned, then it's a shame, but almost every defender does the same thing all the time. I suppose the best thing I can say is that the diver in question was a much better actor this time.
Until such time as I see different, I'm of the opinion that Lucas is the best CB at the club.

Had we buried even half of the TEN clear chances we created in the game, Lucas' foul or not wouldn't have mattered. You can not control what the refs do but you can control the game if you finish most of the chances you create and we created quite a lot.
