Hi Ed001

Based on the amount of right wingers we have (lack of natural left wingers) coupled with the eventual need to add English players to the squad. do we hold any interest in Sancho and in your opinion would he be a good signing?

{Ed001's Note - we have Wilson and Kent who are left wingers who will be back for next season. Look Sancho has done really well against tired legs in a league where players get more time and space than in England. Until those kind of performances are produced when he starts, then he is not ready.

As for interest, I am sure the club will take a look at him, but we have shown no genuine interest, nor should we when you consider the amount of money he would cost.}

1.) 02 Feb 2019 20:04:14
Agree with the need to get a right footed left inside forward in the summer (could well be a player who is flexible across this role and CF), but don’t know if Jadon is a prudent purchase given his likely price after Dortmund sold pulisic.

2.) 03 Feb 2019 08:41:26
Thanks for the reply Ed001

When I have seen Wilson he has been on the right wing but I haven't watched him regularly so you might be right about him playing on the left.

Regarding Kent I feel his future lies elsewhere.

{Ed001's Note - they both can play either flank, though you may be right about Kent.}

If Liverpool were to win the League and the Champions League and Netherlands win the UEFA nations league we could be singing 'He's our number 4 and he's won Balon d'or'

1.) 18 Mar 2019 23:30:57
Ha, dream on mate .

17 Feb 2019 16:55:56
Have we looked at any versatile defenders more specifically one that can play both left and right back? I feel it would block the youngsters paths if we were to replace both Clyne and Moreno. 1 player to cover for both positions should be fine and leaves room forthe youngsters. Who would be your pick?

1.) 17 Feb 2019 20:28:23
Probably not. But maybe Henrichs. It looks as though Monaco will probably get themselves out of trouble and he’ll stay there seeing as he only signed last year. Can’t think of many who can do both, at least to a good standard.

2.) 17 Feb 2019 20:36:56
MattiaDe Sciglio?

3.) 17 Feb 2019 22:28:59
It’s tough to find a player who can play both sides attacking and defending to an adequate level. It’s not just a case of being 2-footed, it’s about runs, it’s about covering and positioning.

4.) 18 Feb 2019 03:17:02
Kieran Tierney can play both flanks and centre back.

This dip was always going to arrive but I don't see how leading by 4pts with 15 games to go had fans super confident but leading by 3pts with 13 to go has them in a panic.

1.) 05 Feb 2019 05:43:59
Because of the opportunity cost of dropping 4 points against two mid-table teams, that’s why. Factor in the drab performances in both of the aforementioned games, as well as the fact we didn’t take advantage of a slip from our main title rivals, and you should be able to see why this feels different than before to many fans.

2.) 05 Feb 2019 06:29:44
City had a legit dip and lost two on the bounce. We are having ours and managed to come away with 2 vital points. I will take that any day in the hope that we get back to winning ways against Bournemouth. O City are not guaranteed wins till May and would still likely drop points but most importantly, we need to start winning then their efforts will be futile. For those going for the Bournemouth game, help the lads relax by singing louder sending chills down the opposition spine. They need us now and not the slaging claims of bottling or being uninterested. One loss in the Prem after how many games should help us believe in their genuine efforts to win and I'm sure none of them is happy that things are this way. I still believe we have all the cards though and will do it this time. After all, it can't be Liverpool if it's easy. Lol.

3.) 05 Feb 2019 06:57:04
It's a healthy position that we are in, no doubt. It's the form which is worrying people. Palace, Leicester and West Ham have all been very average performances where we could easily have lost. Luckily City dropped points to Newcastle so we are still ahead of them but their superior goal difference will give them confidence. Klopp needs to get the lads refocused ASAP because they've capitulated under the pressure. City did in December though (and they actually lost to Palace and Leicester) so there is proof you can recover from a wobble if you don't let it last too long. It was always going to be tight like this. You don't stride away from this City team. They're too good to just go away.

Big win needed against Bournemouth now. Keep the pressure on City going into the Chelsea game!

4.) 05 Feb 2019 07:17:23
Change to last year mane Bobby Sarah

Miller/ wiji fab hendo behind them.

5.) 05 Feb 2019 07:52:31
To be fair at least Sarah would look interested.

6.) 05 Feb 2019 08:15:00
You're clearly not met the same Sarah I have.

She looked far from interested!

7.) 05 Feb 2019 08:20:36
She didn’t with me 😟.

Hi ed001

I remember us being constantly linked with Antoinne Griezmann during 2010-2012, did we have genuine interest?

Also what are your thoughts of him as a player?

{Ed001's Note - we have had interest in him yes. He is a great player but an ego that puts Zlatan to shame and never shuts up in the media.}

1.) 21 Jan 2019 16:46:49
His staying at Madrid promo was the most awful thing any footballer has ever done. IMO.

2.) 21 Jan 2019 17:19:54
Benny, choosing to remain a big fish in a small pond is better than becoming a smaller fish in a bigger pond, and many of these guys are smart enough to know it.

3.) 21 Jan 2019 17:45:39
I don’t mean it like that aray mate. I just mean in pure self absorption.

4.) 21 Jan 2019 18:04:13
There is no doubting Griezmann's quality. He would be a big fish in any pond in my opinion.

5.) 21 Jan 2019 18:08:04
Thanks for the response Ed001. I was actually desperate for us to move for him in 2014 after we sold Suarez Athletico picked him up for a bargain.

Benny I will never get over that promo. A whole 30 minute documentary announcing your decision to stay and naming it 'La Decision'

6.) 21 Jan 2019 18:09:46
Mosalah steak Gatsby. Only Kaapies will know u mean lol.

7.) 21 Jan 2019 18:18:11
Ah okay Benny 👍.

8.) 21 Jan 2019 18:33:05
Wouldn’t call athletico that small a pond anyway!

9.) 21 Jan 2019 19:39:44
Hahaha Fsadullah let's explain to them. My user name is a play on Mo Salah and a famous Cape Town dish a 'masalah steak Gatsby ' my previous user name 'Oubaas van Zyl' was a character in a famous South African soapie names 7de laan (7th avenue)

10.) 21 Jan 2019 20:01:23
He constantly just kept building up tension over the course of a few months, it was as though he was the orchestrator of a proverbial ‘drum roll’ and was lapping it up. I remember being so shocked when he announced that, i thought there was no possible way anybody would draw out an announcement like that unless it was something they were going to find very difficult to do. How wrong i was.

11.) 21 Jan 2019 20:03:08
YIKES, Ed! An ego that puts Zlatan's to shame? I never thought I would see the day when I would ever see that.

12.) 21 Jan 2019 20:24:56
He’s a talented footballer but a Poundland version of David Beckham wanting the fame, wouldn’t surprise me if he starting dating ginger spice.

13.) 21 Jan 2019 23:52:55
That'd be quite a step down for her Mikey.

14.) 22 Jan 2019 00:51:15
What’s with that stupid telephone celebration anyway?

Wouldn’t want him anywhere near this squad thanks, we don’t need egos like that.

{Ed0333's Note - would love him celebrating in any fashion in front of the Kop mate.

15.) 22 Jan 2019 04:28:13
Haha SGRed it is taken from the music video of Drake's song 'Hotline Bling. ' It is a song he likes so he made a celebration out of it.

16.) 22 Jan 2019 15:49:10
Showing my age now. can you imagine King Kenny or Rushie putting on a celebration like that?!

21 Jan 2019 11:56:01
Something I have noticed is that this is Klopp's 3rd European seaosn with us and we haven't been 'knocked out ' under him.

Reached the final in both of his previous European seasons and still in this one.

1.) 21 Jan 2019 12:33:28
We still got knocked out though haha.

2.) 21 Jan 2019 12:51:46
Losing in the final is still being knocked out but yeah we have performed very well under him in Europe. But Bayern are going to be our toughest test in terms of European competition other than Madrid.

3.) 21 Jan 2019 14:45:17
KMan I’d say City last season was our toughest test they were arguably the best team in Europe at the time.
Bayern are nowhere near that. One thing they do have is experience so we have to be very wary of them but there are tougher tests to come if we get through.

4.) 21 Jan 2019 14:57:06
Being in the final is NOT being knocked out. That is patently false. It's like saying Croatia got "knocked out" at the last WC by France in the final. You get knocked out during the knock out stages and NOT before nor after. Why? The final marks the end of the knockout stage of any European or int'l competition so you CANNOT get knocked out if you made the final.

That said, Klopp has done wonders with us in Europe. Two European finals of both European competitions is NOTHING to sneeze at. There are clubs and managers and players who would kill for the chance to just make a semi final. Even City with all their money, can't boast of that. Just speaking facts, my friends.

5.) 21 Jan 2019 15:54:08
So you don't get knocked out in the quarter or semi finals either then redwolf🤔.

6.) 21 Jan 2019 17:38:59
P1, yes you do. The quarters and semis are the knock out stages. Once you get past those and into the final then you can't be knocked out cos you already went thru that stage. There is a reason you never hear that "a team got knocked out in the final". Many thanks for making my point.

He underwent surgery so it is doubtful we will see him this season.

I remember Glen Johnson wanting to study for a law degree at 1 stage.
