Posted this earlier but guess it got lost in transit! Anyway, with both QPR and Reading now relegated, have we any possible targets in either of their teams?

Hey Eds, am I right in saying that we're set to lose both Matip and Mane in January for the African Nations?
Where will that leave us with cover at the back? Klavan and Lovren, with Lucas cover doesn't really instill many of us with confidence at the moment.
Not sure how match fit Gomez could be around that time. And what about Ilori? Any possibility of him staking a claim?

If we do look to move Gomez to a more central position then Clyne will provide adequate cover for TAA, simple as that!

He'd pad out the squad giving us another option off the bench but he's no starter.

Well I've just watched it, again, and personally feel it was all Lucas. He 'appeared' ready for the ball, and controlled it just fine, had ample time to simply play it back to Migs if needed however took his eye off the ball, went to drag it back and maybe use Milner or Wijnaldum who was coming short but just ended up touching it forward, which then resulted in his panic toe poke across the goal.
True Migs rushed into passing it to Lucas when it wasn't neccessary at all, but that's where his blame ends as far as I'm concerned. I can only assume he wanted to keep possession short and simple as opposed to a long goal kick and losing the ball. Just my 2cents.

Will this lead to Gomez adopting the hybrid role from left back?
Will Gomez switch to RB and play that Trent role and Beck gets a run at LB?
Or do we just revert back to the normal 4-3-3 instead?

They should be consistent and there should be no excuses, especially if all ref's remain with a mic for Mic'd Up which they're doing on Sky Sports.
Absolutely no reason they can't review what's said and by who and take action, but naturally they won't.

Juanma is out of contract in the summer. Haven't heard anything about a new one being offered, so has he not progressed as well as hoped lately?
