Is Milner called Millie because for corner kicks he places the ball within a millimetre of the quadrant? Moreno does it as well. Both are wonderful at concentrating and focussing on getting the ball within a millimetre outside the corner kick quadrant. The opposition fans go wild, several times the officials have even gone to check the positioning of the ball whether it be by Millner or Moreno. And for all that uproar, focus, millimetres, all that trying to be smart, when it actually comes to KICKING THE BALL. time after time it is wasted. Along comes young Brannagan. Places ball in centre of quadrant. boom. target hit. every time. Bring on next match. The concentration levels of both Milner and Moreno when placing ball for corner kick will be out of this world, just a shame their kicks go out of this world too.

I agree that Milner and moreno's corners are poor, but Brannagans, while better, were still very hit or miss.

2.) 10 Feb 2016 15:16:37
Least brannagan is not payed 150k a week like milner to deliver those hit and miss crosses.

A team put together for circa 20 million pounds beat us last night, who some fans demanded we spend 38 million pounds on 1 player. I'd swap the whole Leicester team for 25 mil Lallana, or 20 mil Lovern, or 18 mil or Sakho, or 20 mil Hendo, or 29 mil Firmino or 32.5 mil Benteke. Leicester are top of the league, having spent a tiny proportion compared to us. I hope they win it. Am glad Klopp kept his powder dry in January. If he does his normal stuff, he will buy quality at low prices and clear out many current players in one go. The hardest part is trying to convince clubs to take them off our hands. In the meantime if Klopp gives more time to the youngsters in league or cups or both that is fine with me. They have entertained, while well paid 1st teamers have bored. Time for youth.

They're just playing brilliantly as a team and working very hard. Individually they are not great, bar vardy mahrez and Kante in my eyes. Would you want Robert huth? Danny Simpson?

2.) 03 Feb 2016 13:21:42
Fencey
I would take their whole midfield ahead of ours with out any hesitation. Okazaki showed yestey how a midfidler should contribute the attack. he was inside the box when Vardy whipped one in.

3.) 03 Feb 2016 13:22:37
Kante is a superb footballer and shows that good scouting works.

I can only conclude that we have a pretty poor scouting network.

{Ed002's Note - So because Liverpool did not sign Kante the club has a "pretty poor scouting network". Maybe the club should look to do what MU did this past January and put a block on all transfers? Let the team settle and let Klopp have even more time to prove he is a good enough coach with the players he has. The expectations of the fans for a new team every season is not the basis for success. Buying players for the heck of it is also not the basis for success.}

4.) 03 Feb 2016 13:36:47
Vardy isn't that great. He's a good finisher and very quick but massively benefits from everyone playing to him - I doubt he's be anywhere near as successful in another team.

5.) 03 Feb 2016 13:39:18
Well said Ed002. Thanks to all the Ed's, guys you have to put up with some crap on here. You should all be knighted!

6.) 03 Feb 2016 14:10:03
Spot on, Ed. No one even knew who Kante or majority of these Leicester players were 18 months ago and now because they`re surprising everyone including themselves as top of the PL, people are now becoming scouting experts after the fact. Nonsensical thinking, really. Kante came from the depths of the French Ligue 1 (Caen, I think) but he took his chance to the point that Inler, an experienced international can`t even get a game. Did the specialists/ geniuses on this forum see that coming? Didn`t think so. Leicester are flying high and taking advantage of the crazy and to be honest, sunb standard level of the PL so credit to them. Would any one have signed these players they have now in the off season? NO! So Stop whinging and support the team and the player because regardless of all your whinging, they are who we`ve got and we have to ride with them.

7.) 03 Feb 2016 14:24:28
I think the point more was rather that mr dennis was simply saying that if our scouts actually put some effort in, we could find players like kante, instead of blowing all our money on players who clearly aren't much better at all, all hype.

8.) 03 Feb 2016 18:07:25
Hold on though a minute ed we've spent a fortune over the last decade or so. Even with the amount we've spent since Kenny is it out of order to ask why we failed to assemble a squad which can compete in the league.

{Ed002's Note - Read the post.}

Many of the Lallana critics have complained mostly about the amount of touches he takes and failing to get his head up to spot a team mate, more so than his lack of goals and assists. Yesterday he had an assist, one touch (the pass), and a goal, one touch (the shot) . Maybe they were right after all.

Micheal

1.) 24 Jan 2016 23:11:56
Exactly, Michael. When he plays one touch like he did in the game, he is lethal. The guy is too talented to be this poor which is why I have slated him here. He could do and contra so much if he just did the simple things right first time and yesterday has proven that.

2.) 24 Jan 2016 23:17:50
I agree he did help the the team win yesterday, but if he didn't hit those two first time he has real problems. It's more in the build up that he takes too long.

3.) 24 Jan 2016 23:18:30
So many times this season Lallana has had chances to release players on goal, but opted to take more touches! I think everyone had been screaming at him in the training earlier lol.

4.) 24 Jan 2016 23:49:49
Just hope he keeps it up.

Loved Klopp's honest remarks yesterday post match. He clearly felt the pain of real Liverpool fans. This is a man driven to succeed. As animated as Klopp was during the press interviews, the highlight for me was his facial expression when being told by a reporter that the player who fouled Moreno was the guy who ran 100 yards to score 20 seconds later. There was admiration there, you could see it in his eyes. Some great posts on here today, many calling for patience and realism. I echo those views. We have an excellent manager.

Question for Ed001 if possible. You mentioned before about Martin Å krtel 'dropping off' or 'running back to his own goal' and it was something that i had never noted. Was yesterday an example of that? Am not blaming Skrtel for the loss at all, we were shocking in most places yesterday. When i see Sakho in such circumstances he tends to go towards the opponent fast and hard. Yesterday Skrtel seemed to back off until there was no more pitch left.

Micheal

{Ed001's Note - there were a couple of instances were he ran away instead of holding the attacker up. It was quite worrying that he reverted back to type so quickly.}

1.) 07 Dec 2015 11:58:08
It was moments of self doubt, IMO because we were not playing well hence, no confidence in doing the right thing so, go back to doing the same thing you know even if it's the wrong thing.

2.) 07 Dec 2015 12:57:53
For Newcastle's first Skrtel dropped 5 yards deeper than the rest of the defence. This gave Wijnaldium space to run into which shouldn't have been there. Skrtel's big mistake was made right before he turned it into his own net!

3.) 07 Dec 2015 13:41:58
The clyne challenge at the edge if the area was most significant. Skrtel drops 5 yards past the defnesive line playing cisse on. He then dropped 20 attempting to hold cisse up and then fell and flung out a leg in the box and was lucky clyne got there.

Ed001 credit to you. Like many of us I have read almost everything there is to read about the Arsenal Liverpool match. You are the only one to mention Lallana hindering Clyne for their goal. Great shout from you.

Micheal

{Ed001's Note - has it not been mentioned before? I thought it was one of the most noticeable features. I am not a fan of Clyne's defending, but it is difficult for him to defend when his own team mate blocks him off!}

A while ago Fergie and Wenger had a man each on yellow. Fergie subbed, Wenger didn't and lost the player and the match. Klopp replaced a cd on yellow who had escaped ceding a penalty with a cd who has over 300 games experience and faster legs than Toure. But go ahead and blame Klopp that a player on 60,000 to 100,000 per week and 8 seasons as our cd can't achieve one tackle, one block, one interception in 45 minutes. And we concede 3 in that 45 minutes. Blame Klopp for the 32 million Benteke who failed to convert an easy chance. Blame Klopp for Rodgers buying a keeper who can't kick to a high standard, what's worse is he never could kick well. Blame Klopp for Joe Allen missing another simple goal.

Flanno is not in our Europa League squad. How come you didn't know that? Interesting.

If Mings got injured there would be howls on here and elsewhere of why didn't klopp bring back Ward, that Bogdan is a disaster, Klopp should have seen this coming etc etc. When Klopp played Bogdan it was obvious to all that Bogdan was not good enough for Liverpool. The right decision was made, get Ward back for cover, as well as an opportunity to assess Ward first hand over 6 months in preparation for next season.
