Being linked with Hakim Zyech. Any substance to that Eds?

Litmanenfav

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware, but these are the notes from a few months ago: "Any Everton interest sounds like old news about a Martinez target from a couple of years back. Hoffenheim and Sampdoria were disappointed with January 2016 rejections for Hakim Ziyech who chose to move to Ajax in the summer of 2016 over interest from Fenerbahce, Dortmund, CSKA Moscow, Sunderland, Swansea and Southampton. Other sides including Inter, Roma, Crystal Palace Leicester all looked to the player when he was at Twente. His agent has said that "Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs have come from England to watch my player" - who comes with a great deal of baggage - but there is nothing to substantiate that at all. Chelsea has a player on loan at Ajax, Spurs took a look at Dolberg and Liverpool, unless Coutinho is leaving, may have done the same."}

Again, this would be a good signing.

Ed, any chance of adding one of my favourite players of all time to your ever growing list - Paolo Maldini?

Litmanenfav

{Ed001's Note - defo mate, I can't believe I hadn't put him in the list already now you have mentioned him! Also your namesake and Franco Baresi I have added while I thought of them.}

1.) 13 Oct 2017 08:32:24
Brilliant choice. I know it's a sin but I forgot the fella existed for a while.

2.) 13 Oct 2017 08:41:43
What's the chances of a piece on Paul Konchesky?

{Ed001's Note - he is not yet retired, so it would have to be a player profile mate. Sorry to disappoint you.}

3.) 13 Oct 2017 08:44:02
Would love to see your views on the '05 UCL winning squad ED001, pretty please?

Doesn't have to be ginormous obviously, but would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - have added that to my to do list mate.}

4.) 13 Oct 2017 09:11:52
What, Konchesky Is still playing? I thought he'd retired on his few months worth of Liverpool wages? Struth!

5.) 13 Oct 2017 09:13:46
Another one I thought of Ed001 mate, Roberto Baggio, I'm not sure if he's been recommended yet.

{Ed001's Note - I can't believe I never had him on the list already! One of the most fascinating characters in football.}

6.) 13 Oct 2017 09:23:49
He was just unreal wasn't he mate. I look forward to that one as I do the many others, he had quiet a career. Cheers mate.

{Ed001's Note - his off field life is pretty interesting too.}

7.) 13 Oct 2017 10:56:51
hi ed, what about Andrea Pirlo? i have never understood why he is so admired, when to me he is one of the most frustrating footballers i have ever watched! not sure if he still playing in the states, but with the amount of requests you are getting by the time you get round to it he his kids will be retired.

{Ed001's Note - I will add him to the lost when I get back. Have to admit I am not a fan of his at all.}

8.) 13 Oct 2017 11:56:49
Cheers Ed.

You'll have a whole encyclopedia after all these requests!

{Ed001's Note - maybe I should turn it into a book then.}

9.) 13 Oct 2017 12:43:28
Maybe an article on Italian football would cover most of those Ed001, could include some of the great players they have had and the differences in style compared to other leagues. I remember as a young kid it was the top league to play in and how it has fallen from that position. Just a thought/ suggestion.

{Ed001's Note - good idea mate.}

10.) 13 Oct 2017 15:56:36
Now that would be something special if you did a book Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - special isn't the word most people would use!}

11.) 13 Oct 2017 18:16:45
Socrates on the list?

12.) 13 Oct 2017 20:06:27
Van Basten is one of my all time favourites despite his shortened career.

{Ed025's Note - great player andy..

13.) 14 Oct 2017 00:40:10
Hey, how about Zico? What a smashing player he was!

23 Aug 2017 19:50:11
RedOne, that's a really offensive post. Moreno is an LFC player wearing the LFC shirt. That's enough to demand that we support him, regardless of what we think of his ability. Call yourself a fan - jeez!

Reflecting on the Watford game after enough time to get my blood pressure down, my biggest concern is not PC going or the defensive performance (which was v bad) but the repetition of last season's pattern - poor first half, better second half. Why does it take until ht for the team to start playing? We looked slow, lethargic and disinterested. First game of the season after a great pre-season, you'd think they would be well up for it!

1.) 14 Aug 2017 09:25:38
ATTITUDE!

2.) 14 Aug 2017 09:25:53
I think it is jut a simple case of getting your feet under you in the first game of the season regardless of preseason preparation, Litmanen. Let us give it more games and see if it is a pattern. But the defensive shambles was terrible. it undid all the good work we did in the second half as we had them on the rack the whole half and should have scored 5 goals easily. I don't know how we fix it and frankly, I don't think Klopp does either. We shall see.

3.) 14 Aug 2017 10:03:54
We're a defensive joke it is as simple as that. Nothing has been worked on over the summer and we've got another season of conceding ridiculously easy goals. We'll not get top four this year.

4.) 14 Aug 2017 11:09:53
My Two, and you know we won't make top 4 after a draw at Watford in the first game of the season? Nonsense! By that logic, Chelsea should just pack it in for the season cos they lost at home to Burnley, right? Give over with the knee jerk reactions, mate. It's boring.

Can't wait for the season to start! Great pre-season, exciting new players, Coutinho and Can will either stay or they won't, he who shall not be mentioned and VVD will either join or they won't - I don't care cos I get to watch mighty LFC once or twice a week! Bring it on. YNWA 🏆🏆⚽️⚽️.

Litmanenfav

{Ed025's Note - i like your style mate..

1.) 06 Aug 2017 00:01:41
could not agree more. i think we will have a GREAT season, finish top 4, get to the knock out stage of the champions league and win one of the domestic cups. YNWA!

Here's a statement to get everyone going - I think if Emre Can stays, regains full fitness and continues his development in the way he showed at the end of last season, I see him as a future LFC captain. I sincerely hope he stays!

1.) 25 Jul 2017 21:14:17
Agreed, I'm going to get shot down here but in terms of moving forward I would rather he started than Hendo and I really rate Hendo but Can has an excellent balance of power, skill and technique rare for someone of his build.

2.) 25 Jul 2017 21:23:14
I think he will be a good solid player but he is not special. He definitely believes he is better than he is. Just my observation there. Anyway I would like to keep him, but would take a handsome fee for him because he is replaceable.

3.) 25 Jul 2017 21:23:40
When I read the first sentence (Here's a statement to get everyone going) I got super excited expecting some factual news only for it to be followed by "I think if" and that's where I stopped reading.

4.) 25 Jul 2017 21:34:19
Agreed.

5.) 25 Jul 2017 21:41:50
I don't think he's got the footballing brain to be a top top player.

6.) 25 Jul 2017 21:49:11
I said this on another LFC site when he first started playing with us, I don't know what it is but he has that spark, I think he is a natural born leader. He will turn out to be a fantastic footballer and people are just far too quick to jump to conclusions forgetting he is such a young man and he will take time to catch up with his growth, if ya know what I mean. He is one player we will look back at and really regret selling.
I had a bet two years ago that by 28 he will be captain of Germany. £50 @ 40-1 easy peasy :)

7.) 25 Jul 2017 22:10:35
He doesn't start above Hendo let's get that straight but he can line up alongside him no problem. The amount of games we could potentially have (I mean when we reach every final) then we are going to need a strong squad.

8.) 25 Jul 2017 22:52:00
It's been said many times here, in the past, that Can shows clear leadership skills and I've always agreed with it. He plays the holding midfielder role well, and the box to box also. Fierce in the tackle, and always wiling to do the dirty work.

I just think that there's a double standard on here, as with many other things. People excuse Henderson for a poor season due to his injuries, but refuse to grant Can the same consideration and judge him far more harshly. Yes, Henderson is the better player, but then shouldn't he be with his longer experience with the team and in football? Give Can the benefit of the doubt. (And Grujic is nowhere near Can's level, so thinking he can walk into Can's position is wishful thinking) .

9.) 25 Jul 2017 22:54:45
Not a chance. His lack of game intelligence is astounding.

10.) 25 Jul 2017 23:44:08
He's 23. Give the fella a break. He's got something there, maybe he doesn't show it consistently but he's got quality and will get better. How many people wanted Hendo gone when Fulham bid for him? And now he's the first name on the team sheet when fit. how many other players on here get bashed prematurely? I remember people on here saying Suarez couldn't finish, that Mane and Gino weren't what we needed, or Coutinho isn't consistent but then whinge when other teams show interest. Get a grip.

11.) 25 Jul 2017 23:56:46
Yup. Cans lack of game intelligence? .

Them fellas at Juventus don't know their arse from their elbow when it comes to judging players.

FFS.
