Hi eds. Used searched function regarding luan but no real answers. Is there any truth in the fact we have placed a bid? Thanks and apologies if u have answered it. Cheers.

Lfcdiamond

{Ed002's Note - Gremio's Luan has been subject to enquiries from Leicester, Rennes and Milan but no offers have been made by any of these sides. Barcelona were keen to take him as a fourth choice striker but were put off by a very significant asking price and a request for him to stay at Gremio through to January - hence their moving for Valencia's Alcacer (who ironically will likely be replaced by a player from Barcelona). Others who watched the player in the Olympics including Manchester United, Benfica, Liverpool and Juventus do not see value in the asking price. An offer from China at the end of 2015 failed due to significant wage demands from the player's representative.}

1.) 30 Aug 2016 10:04:52
Thanks eds. appreciated and ill take that as a firm no. Thanks for the detailed answer. Have a good day.

2.) 30 Aug 2016 14:54:03
I live here in Brasil and have to say I never thought particularly highly of Luan curious if others rate him. Am gutted City got Gabriel Jesus he is quality in my opinion.

20 Jul 2016 12:43:07
Apparently gw has pulled out the squad to face Doncaster and a deal could be completed by the end of the week.

Lfcdiamond

1.) 20 Jul 2016 13:26:52
Seriously hope we don't waste valuable funds on him. We're not flush and can't afford to make expensive mistakes and this boy is a very expensive mistake.

2.) 20 Jul 2016 13:34:39
I'm actually up for it. Klopp got a tune out of a average squad GW was on board a sinking ship . Get behind the lad instead of hanging him before he has kicked a ball . Support first and give criticism when due . Young and talented and klopp won't suffer fools in sure he has briefed the lad on what is required. No passengers.

3.) 20 Jul 2016 13:37:04
frankly please stop replying to every GW post you are embarrassing yourself and klopp knows better than you peroid.

4.) 20 Jul 2016 13:51:53
Over paying again, but Newcastle always fleece us, hopefully he feels he needs to improve and klopp can get him working hard, if he gives 100 % that's all we can ask for.

5.) 20 Jul 2016 13:53:12
He was playing out of position slot last season as well, he's certainly not a left mid.

{Ed001's Note - every time I have seen him play, as a youngster, he played on the left.}

6.) 20 Jul 2016 13:55:41
Had we signed him directly from PSV last year I would have been excited by this signing but I am cautious after his performances for Newcastle. I am hopeful though that playing in a team with more quality around him will inspire him to work a lot harder than he seemed to at Newcastle. We need more goals from midfield and providing he has been signed to play in central midfield its a signing I believe can work out even if it appears a bit risky and expensive. Saying that we did get 15 million for Ibe and actual money for Skrtel so it's not all bad.

7.) 20 Jul 2016 14:47:49
soton also fleece us lol, I can't see klopp or the rest of the lads putting up with him if he doesn't put the effort in. If the lad comes in scores a few goals all the haters will be loving it so i say give him a chance to prove his worth!

8.) 21 Jul 2016 15:47:15
Can some explain to me why we are wasting time and funds on a bang average player like GW while we have a young Grujic showing some flash and dash in preseason?

07 Jul 2016 07:13:47
Reports on bbc website that bournemouth have offered 15 million for Ibe.

Lfcdiamond

1.) 07 Jul 2016 09:52:06
Seems like a lot of money for a young lad but then again a lot of the fees seem high this summer.

If Ibe wants to go then we shouldn't stand in his way. I would never force him out the club though.

2.) 07 Jul 2016 10:11:25
15 million! I'll drive him there myself.

3.) 07 Jul 2016 10:14:14
The bbc gossip section that they get from other newsapers. which they happened to get from that newspaper we shan't name. Rubbish.

4.) 07 Jul 2016 11:06:11
He'll be worth double it not more should we keep him. their offer is tempting but I think it's too early to cash in on him.

5.) 07 Jul 2016 10:39:30
Why on earth Bournemouth play £15 mill for Ibe.

6.) 07 Jul 2016 11:12:22
Hope not
I like Ibe, I just hope he can push and grow more as a player.

7.) 07 Jul 2016 11:25:59
Sorry folks but if there is any truth in that then I think we should snatch their hands off. We talk about potential a lot, and yes Ibe does have some, but how long do we want to wait before it comes to the fore? 2 seasons? 3 seasons? £15m is a lot of money for potential and at the minute we need proven players who can grab a first team place and change games - I haven't seen that from Ibe yet. If it's true then I wish him all the best, if not then I'll support him as a player for LFC as always!

8.) 07 Jul 2016 11:49:21
Ed2 already said that klopp is looking to move ibe on. If we get an offer anywhere near 15 mil I'd expect him to go.

9.) 07 Jul 2016 13:22:11
Take the money and let the boy go and make a career elsewhere. We can`t offer him the game time he needs so why keep him. He won`t get any better by not playing. Take the money and move on.

10.) 07 Jul 2016 16:17:17
they would pay £15 million for him because he has loads of natural talent and is 21!

Should he progress how i think he could, he could be lethal.

We WILL go top on Monday lads😉😎.

2.) 15 Oct 2016 17:12:05
Yep we just got to win by 4 clear goals.

3.) 15 Oct 2016 17:16:09
3 goals stoneage. I think we're more than capable of that.

4.) 15 Oct 2016 17:53:10
Shh don't jinx it lads.

5.) 15 Oct 2016 18:35:11
I don't want to be joint top. I want to be top! But yes, Liddelland. I'll shut up now.

6.) 15 Oct 2016 18:46:01
Three points will definitely do for me nicely, thank you.

7.) 15 Oct 2016 19:15:33
Pep has been dismistifyed. It now up to Klop to ginger my boys and the Kop to do the needful. You Never Walk Alone. I say this without any doubt or reservation.

8.) 15 Oct 2016 20:13:56
And lasses.

9.) 15 Oct 2016 20:22:50
I would take one nil now.

10.) 15 Oct 2016 20:39:31
Dont care what score it is just stick up the mancs!

11.) 15 Oct 2016 20:43:23
As long as we don't get embarrassed by the mancs i am happy.

12.) 15 Oct 2016 20:22:50
I would take one nil now.

13.) 15 Oct 2016 23:37:29
Me too. A 93rd minute dubious penalty.

14.) 16 Oct 2016 00:08:04
funny how guardiola is been figured out isn't it, top manager my backside, i find it amusing.

27 Sep 2016 14:25:57
I am pleased lallana is finally getting the credit he deserves. I have always rated him and he is now producing. Well done lad.

Lfcdiamond

1.) 27 Sep 2016 15:31:51
He was mostly frustrating in my opinion - he has always had all the tools in his locker, but couldn't quite use them all at the appropriate times. He appears to have gotten to grips with Klopp's ideas.

I too am delighted, partially because I have always said that he could be a great player if he knew what he should be doing. Most people seemed to want rid of him and take a big hit on his purchase price, so I am delighted that his high price tag is beginning to look like a fair price. Hopefully this time next year it will look cheap!

Long may his Cruyf turns lead to even more goals.

2.) 27 Sep 2016 15:34:05
I've criticised the lad in the past for his endless turns but fair play to him, he's played very well this season. Deserves a pat on the back🙂.

3.) 27 Sep 2016 16:28:22
Agreed Ron. Not so easy to pick holes in a player when the team is playing well and winning. Long may it continue.

4.) 27 Sep 2016 17:33:10
Early days but so far so good eh!

5.) 27 Sep 2016 17:54:30
In full agreement, lallana is stepping up to the plate and the same can be said for most of the boys.

I've lost the latest post eds? Waro?

Lfcdiamond

{Ed041's Note - it got deleted. Usual bollocks.

1.) 31 Aug 2016 21:36:16
Fair enough. just debate so not sure why but makes it a good time to call it a day. Night waro lol.

{Ed041's Note - have a good evening mate.

2.) 31 Aug 2016 21:39:10
U2 bud . Cheers.

3.) 31 Aug 2016 21:42:32
Nothing to do with me, some people just can't handle it, would love to see them face to face but there you go. They just can't converse and play nice, oh well!

4.) 31 Aug 2016 21:51:19
Such a shame the way this site has gone sometimes.

Although not massively surprising.

The bile and vitriol from some quarters of our support is unfortunately quite common.

People should remember we are all on the same boat, even if we don't agree on which direction it should take.

5.) 31 Aug 2016 21:55:58
It wasn't to do with me either waro. Think eds just got bored of it! I was enjoying our debate.

6.) 31 Aug 2016 22:16:34
it is upsetting that sometimes the site becomes tedious and even hostile I fear it drives some interesting people away for example I haven't seen sad Jordan henderson post in a few days and I normally enjoyed him poking fun at people's pessimistic views of our captain and saviour but it seems even the negativity has become too Much for him.

7.) 31 Aug 2016 22:18:48
You're right Wassa this has been coming for the last 5 - 10 years mate. No ones good enough la di da in fighting. The press write a piece on one of our players can't do this or that everyone believes it. Even Kennys been slated which is unbelievable! The fans abuse our own players constantly. And we all stand there and sing you'll never walk alone.

Sky bring up zonal marking. Spurs subs bench being better than ours. BS. And yet another onslaught of bollocks we have to put up with.

We have been divided and conquered. The saving grace though is we've got a manager now who can and I believe will bring us all back together and the sooner the better. We are all in this together.

20 Aug 2016 22:20:51
We will be lucky 2 finish in top 4. Just don't think we will b consistent enough 2 manage it. Sad to say but can't see us making top 4. I think klopp is rather predictable and as maybe eds is right. . he lacks the tactical skills to change plans etc. This is based on last season and what I have seen so far. this will get slated but I just don't see much difference between now and the past. Why has he not sorted the left back position? Wasted 25 million on gw? I sincerely hope I'm proved wrong, I really do but are we just being blinded by nice guy klopp?

Lfcdiamond

1.) 20 Aug 2016 22:43:38
Well another manager comes in that can't sort out the mentality in the dressing room.

2.) 20 Aug 2016 22:48:00
Maybe blinded. We won't know after week 2 of the season.

3.) 20 Aug 2016 23:14:34
We have to change something in the style we play. We are not Barcelona. Having all our attacks based on attempted passes through three defenders, g oing only from the centre with ne headers, no presence in the box, no power just small passes, everyone running forward so exposing our defence, we will never overcome teams that close thier game and we will concede.

4.) 20 Aug 2016 23:39:46
I thought Kloppo knew better than trying to get our defenders to pass their way out at the back.

I'm disappointed. Unless he's going to sign a brand new set of defenders we need to give this tactic up.

5.) 21 Aug 2016 00:00:49
I think in games like this out movement in the final third is just all wrong. Sturridge comes to revive the ball just to dribble back out to where he received it, the only real movement is done on the wings which ends up with hopeful cross towards no one really. Against Arsenal we saw much more movement everyone wanting the ball and actually taking risks, the movement on Lallanas goal was class, it's just a shame we can't do it when there a few more defenders behind the ball. Imo the area which needs work is attacking movement and link up play.

6.) 21 Aug 2016 00:22:28
Most teams will struggle to create good chances against a well organised defensive side, and of course its all too easy in the process to over commit and be caught on the break- exactly as happened according to Dyche's script today.
But City usually manage to find a way through packed defences, whilst not getting caught out at the back- as do Chelsea, Barca, Bayern, and the top European sides who face a similar challenge in their domestic games most weeks.
Mane is a partial solution to creating a breakthrough against packed defences, and we already missed his qualities today.
But I think Klopp is a very smart man, and he will learn that he needs a plan B for these games, and he needs certain qualities from the players to make it work.
But its not just about defence. The second goal really started with a crappy 3 yard forward pass from coutinho to sturridge on the edge of their box- sturridge had two defenders on him already, and his slow reactions allowed them to rob the ball, and the break was on.
That kind of sloppy forward play from coutinho and studge is what allows opportunities to be created- so that has to stop.
But after that, the defending on an individual basis was not good enough.
Gray is a decent player, but our defenders made him look like Pele in that break. He should never have been allowed to get that shot off.
We have to learn the lessons and move on.

7.) 21 Aug 2016 02:31:19
I totally agree with you Ron. We should stop trying starting from the back. It doesn't work.

8.) 21 Aug 2016 01:55:03
Lots of words here in some of the comments but to sum up - we were rubbish - simple as. The piss poor, football manager style purchasing of the last 3 seasons has continued into this one. We were lucky to win last week and we got what we deserved this week. Rubbish, simply rubbish, no excuses for losing this game. And before anyone starts I've been a weekly matchgoer for 30+ years, crappest Liverpool team i've seen, unfortunately.

{Ed001's Note - we weren't lucky to win last week, we just have to learn not to sit back and try and hold a lead. As for the crappest team, this is much better than Rodgers final days, far better than the Hodgson era, so you clearly are not a match goer or match watcher if you think this is the crappest.}

9.) 21 Aug 2016 07:10:49
In 30 years this is the crappest team u have seen? u obviously never watched when hodgson was in charge then? every team this season will lose games that is a fact. so we lost one early. get behind the manager and the team not slating them after 2 games. fans are so fickle.

10.) 21 Aug 2016 08:05:24
Well that divided opinion but don't get me wrong I desperately want us to succeed but I just don't see how we are going to do that when we can't get the basics right and buy Un needed players like gw. I'm not bashing any players just voicing my opinion. I hope klopp gets it right but we must find consistency at some point. Have a good Sunday reds. YNWA.

11.) 21 Aug 2016 08:27:13
I'm sorry Ed001 but I am a regular attendee at games and whilst I may have over-egged the comment a little (beer will do that to you), at the moment I see very little difference between this team and those from the periods you highlight. There may be better/ fsater/ fitter players on paper but we still haven't worked out how to make them play together or instill them with a winning mentality. I pray that this is a blip at the start of a 36 match unbeaten run but I sense that's not the case and that we're going into another mediocre season.

I'm not some idiot who thinks we'll be competing with those clubs who have 10 times our spending power but it would be nice to think that we might be in with a slight chance. As it stands I don't think this team, unless something changes quickly, is much better than it was last season.

{Ed001's Note - one game and you are saying this. One game against the team with the best home defensive record in England last season. Yes, I know it was at a lower level, but it still highlights that they are very defensively sound at home, even their relegation season saw them concede very few. If I remember correctly they only conceded 7 at home all season. People are panicking over nothing. Burnley are excellent at what they do, with a coach who has a plan and works hard to implement it.}

12.) 21 Aug 2016 09:32:51
It's not just one game though is it Ed001 - I know you disagree with my use of the word 'Lucky' in relation to the Arsenal game but we had that game all but sewn up and then conceded 2 goals to let them right back into it and could quite easily have gone on to lose. We could well have been looking at 0 points from our first two games.

I'm not going to start slagging off individuals - Henderson for example wasn't to blame for what happened yesterday as a lot of posters seem to think - but I do wonder if we've spent a lot of money again and not really upped the overall quality level.

Anyway, onwards and upwards, we need to win that game against Spurs next week now just to prove that the result yesterday was just a blip.

{Ed001's Note - we sat back and let them get at us, let Arsenal off the hook, that is a different issue. The issues are different in both games. You can't compare them.}

13.) 21 Aug 2016 15:18:41
Anonymush

And for such teams who sit back and defend you have players like Zlatan who is unbeatable in the air when you put in crosses. Liverpool don't use width and never cross a football into the 6 yard box.

06 Aug 2016 17:34:53
I personally think lallana is quality. Don't know why he gets so many knocks on here.

Lfcdiamond

1.) 07 Aug 2016 01:25:06
Has the ability but lacks end product from that ability, not just goals and assists but also slowing down attacks and counter attacks with needless cruyff turns, so for his position in the front three he doesn't do enough. However a central midfield role seems to suit him better so it will be interesting to see if this position change is permanent or not.
