I've been led to believe that 3 players will potentially be joining in next 2 days. Lemar is due to sign, fee agreed but nothing released to press yet, Origi going on loan for season. AOC set to sign as Klopp likes his desire to join us and think he has a role to play for us. VVD will join, negotiations on going in back ground.
If these 3 sign expect Coutinho to leave. I'm all for letting Coutinho go after being able to train for Brazil and being passed fit.
The team will be a hell of a lot stronger if those 3 sign and Couts goes.

1.) 30 Aug 2017 16:53:23
Can't see that happening mate Lemar is off so it says on several sites. Looks like AOC, not sure we will get VVD either.

2.) 30 Aug 2017 17:13:30
Lemar is far from off.

I’d like to get peoples thoughts on this team I feel if we have this team next season we can’t really challenge!
Karius/ Ward
Gomez/ New rb De Vrij Van Dijk Moreno
Grujic/ Hendo
Keita Lallana/ Lemar
Salah Firmino Mane
Subs: Ward/ Karius Gomez/ new rb Lovren Hendo/ Grujic Lallana/ Lemar ox Solanke
I think that is a strong side and bench! The right back id sign would be pereira from Porto if he’s back from his loan.

1.) 15 Nov 2017 20:56:33
I can't see us signing VVD mste if we bring in a CB like De vrij in January tbh. Will be just one in.

2.) 15 Nov 2017 22:34:53
The midfield of Grujic and Henderson is too weak mate.
Never mind just one of them.

3.) 16 Nov 2017 06:57:20
where is wijnaldum?

4.) 16 Nov 2017 07:02:07
Kloppsreds, he meant after next summer. There will certainly be 2 new CBs at the club. De Vrij and VVD look the most likely and no doubt it would make the new Holland manager happy to have his first choice CBs at the same club.

11 Nov 2017 23:10:01
Congratulations to Dom Solanke who has been called up to England’s senior team. Great achievements for the youngster. Hopefully he’ll get more game time with us and develop into the player we all know he can be!

1.) 12 Nov 2017 08:04:00
No experience is worthless for any young player. Bravo, Dom.

23 Oct 2017 17:49:50
Question for Ed001 if you’re about mate. If the results continue to be poor and Klopp were to be sacked. Who would you like to see in charge at Liverpool?
For me I’d take a go on Marco Silva, for me this guy would take us places, I know he’s inexperienced in the PL so far but his record is good for a guy at a ‘lesser’ team in Watford and also Hull. The guy is good tactically and makes his team organised. This is just my opinion. What are your thoughts?

{Ed001's Note - if I could choose anyone it would be Sarri. However that is probably unrealistic, so, if it is a take a punt on someone choice, I would have to put Marcelino in for consideration.}

1.) 23 Oct 2017 19:25:15
If Sarri could be poached I would be all over that. But I think Klopp can provide a good winnable team given time and tge right scouts and back room staff.

2.) 23 Oct 2017 19:55:11
If Marcelino was manager he'd get rid of half the squad as he won't allow any player with a Body Fat Index over 9.5 to play. I think he is right at the very top of the best managers in Europe.

3.) 23 Oct 2017 19:57:38
Would bielsa be an option?

4.) 23 Oct 2017 19:53:53
Who does sarri manage ed?

{Ed025's Note - napoli mate..

5.) 23 Oct 2017 21:28:28
Who wanted moreno in the summer.

{Ed025's Note - accrington?..

6.) 23 Oct 2017 22:47:39
Lol ed025. I'm the self appointed chairman of the Alberto moreno appreciation society these days. I go on about him coz he has surprised me. I can't tell you how down I was about him last year/ year and a half.
If his haters were an army I would have been a f*****g general. No a field Marshall.

Some players don't deserve the stick they get but moreno did deserve it. He handed seville the final and ucl qualification, after cuddling them all in the tunnel. I was fuming! But he has won me round. I thought his comment recently in the echo telling his detractors "they can shut up now" was a bit lary but actually fair play to him, he is a decent little footballer. A little iffy at the back but really good going forward. I hope he keeps improving.

{Ed025's Note - to be fair superred he has improved this season, how long that will last is any ones guess though mate..

24 Sep 2017 12:54:40
I didn’t finish my post oops but we’d still have: Ings, Woodburn, Kent/ gray, Moreno, klavan and probably a few others left. That said would seriously challenge in all comps. Currently we don’t have enough depth and our defensive problems are likely to cost us this season. Hopefully Klopp can address this and sign better defensive players.

1.) 24 Sep 2017 14:10:04
Klavan lol? Ings who hasn't kicked a ball for 2 years! Oh my word! And boy we are left with only 3 competitions.

14 Sep 2017 20:11:12
We need to bring in another 3 quality players imo to stand any chance of competing regularly. Top class GK is definitely needed, top class CB and a top class CDM then for me I'd get another winger in on top of that. And it'll be the strongest side we've had for a long time. Question for eds, I know we haven't been looking at keepers. But if you could pick a realistic keeper for LFC who would it be and why?

{Ed001's Note - Ward, because he looked well suited to the way we play.}

1.) 14 Sep 2017 20:25:14
I think Karius suits the way we play to a T as well and yesterday's game showed that tho, he did not have anything to do. So for me, it would be Karius tho, he has to do more. Haven't seen enough of Ward BUT he is very talented. What we DO know is that Migs is crap and has been crap through out his career so he needs to be binned so we don't have to deal with him anymore and focus on working wiht both young lads.

{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen Karius having to make a save or anything, whereas I have seen a few matches of Ward under pressure at Huddersfield. That was why I picked Ward, rather than Karius.}

2.) 14 Sep 2017 20:27:12
Bloody hell, dropping Mignolet for good would be a good start to starting of fresh and repairing the rot.

There can be no sentiment here, Mignolet has shown season after season that he just is not good enough. It is there for every living organism involved at Liverpool to see. Klopp seriously needs to drop this BS of 'rotating' GK's.

Mignolet gets dropped for a reason and then you see him sulking on the bench. Do GK's need a rest? Ha ha.

Swallow that bitter pill Klopp.

3.) 14 Sep 2017 20:38:07
I say definitely give ward a go the other too have had chances ward deserves it.

4.) 14 Sep 2017 20:52:09
Gotta give Karius and Ward their chance/ chances as Mignolet has had 4 plus seasons and has never looked secure. Sure you could argue his defence has been poor in front of him, but he hasn't done much either. A couple of penalty saves which is great and one great save at Stoke in 4 full seasons doesn't justify keeping him in the team.
Karius and Ward could be our keepers for the next 6 to 10 years if we start to get them in now.

5.) 14 Sep 2017 21:13:21
Ward is the best we've got IMO 🤝.

6.) 14 Sep 2017 22:19:09
Agree with you Ron I watched Ward closely when he was on loan at Aberdeen. His distribution was excellent, shot stopping was spot on, he commanded his box well and handled the physical and ariel threats from opposition teams. Aberdeen fans loved him and they are a hard lot to please. He is also 2 years older since then.

7.) 15 Sep 2017 00:28:50
2 centre halves.

Naiby Keita and someone to rotate with Firminio,

The spine of the team.

8.) 14 Sep 2017 21:51:58
Cheers ed and fellow reds. Definitely would like to see Ward given a chance or Karius given a run of games. Ward was very good for Huddersfield last year. Hopefully one of these will prove their worth and be a quality keeper for us! YNWA.

9.) 15 Sep 2017 01:27:28
I'd still stick with Karius for now Ed001. He is yet to be seriously tested in the shot stopping department but the looks promising in other areas. Coming off his line on time, collecting crosses, even kicking looks way more confident that calamity Migs. Ward will have to wait till Karius has a couple of stinkers (which I hope not) and Klopp should do the right thing and ship off Migs to a willing buyer in January.

10.) 15 Sep 2017 01:28:49
Lfcder, we have Solanke and Sturridge to rotate with Firmino. Solanke will throw a fit if Klopp signs another striker. The lad came here for first team football, not to play with the under 23s.

11.) 15 Sep 2017 09:42:53
In the long run personally I'd be looking at butland.

12.) 15 Sep 2017 10:01:51
No prob, Ed. Karius or Ward should be the ones we go with right now cos as long as Migs is here, he will be a distraction and an accident waiting to happen. A$ seasons of failure is enough for me. Bin the guy and move on.

Ed 001 who can your realistically see us singing in the next two windows? I know it’s guess work but who would you sign?

{Ed001's Note - I am sure there will be a few choruses of You'll Never Walk Alone. ;-)

Seriously, not a clue, VVD is still wanted but looks out of reach. I wouldn't be surprised if there is a right back brought in though as well as a centre back.

I really do not know who I would sign, it is still a long way off January and that is not really the time to do any major squad work. The summer will be dictated in large part by the World Cup.}

Lallana and Firmino are ineffective out wide. Coutinho likely to play centrally if he stays, I guess we should be okay. Would have liked to see Kent stay if I'm honest and play cup games and get a handful on PL games.

Disappointed about that. With Origi going. We are very short on the wings now! Unless Klopp plans on signing one soon?

The difference is Mr Dennis is Ox is a good player. Kanye and Logba are very good players, yes Pogba was woeful last season but for France he's quality and while he was at Juve he was also quality. Ox isn't as good as either of them but unfortunately because we mess about with transfers tapping up etc we will always fall short with signing these very good players if we continue to tap up. Ox would be a good option imo he'd give us options and actually give us some pace on the bench from an attacking perspective it's all well and good people saying Origi can play out wide but honestly he's wasted there so Ox is a good option!

Lovren is not the best CB at the club! Matip is marginally better and Gomez will be better if him and Matip are partnered together.

{Ed025's Note - matip is lazy and not better than lovren for me leon..

My 3 keepers:
1 - De Gea quality keeper
2 - Donnarumma as back up has potential to be the best
3 - Buffon to give guidance to the two above and act as a player coach.

I would agree with that! I just hope we can buy a quality CB that can be a leader.

I don't want Coutinho at the club no matter how good he is. He's messed up his relationship with everyone involved at the club after being able to train for Brazil. It's pathetic.
