I have been told that we are currently looking at conducting some business in Serbia. I don't know who the player is, or whether the agent is just in Serbia, but apparently talks are happening today. Will try and update if I hear a name.

1.) 17 Dec 2015 11:46:09
Marko Grujić?

2.) 17 Dec 2015 11:46:09
Marko Grujić?

3.) 17 Dec 2015 12:56:22
been told or read all over the internet?

4.) 17 Dec 2015 12:37:52
Grujic is a done deal, info from within Red Star.

5.) 17 Dec 2015 13:19:42
There is no done deal for Grujic at this time as Ed002 has repeatedly said.

LFC_Londoner - I remember you coming up with information before but can't remember if any were true.

6.) 17 Dec 2015 20:43:35
The real ag: the deal is done.

7.) 17 Dec 2015 21:24:47
He supposedly said it on Facebook and the comment was then removed. That was what I read anyway.

Contrary to what I had been initially told, Sanchez is now dead in the water. His wife does not want to live in Liverpool. This is already being reported by the papers I believe, so actually nothing new.

Bertrand will be coming in, as will Origi. Funnily enough, not once had Markovic mentioned to me.

LFC_Londoner

1.) 08 Jul 2014 15:41:10
Thanks man.

2.) Sanchez is dead in the water? Did he forget his armbands when he went for a swim

3.) There should be time to resuscitate him! Get the man to a hospital!

4.) I can believe that quite easily, the 2 cheap players we get the others, we don't bother with

5.) Cheap doesn't necessarily mean bad, have a bit of faith, there's plenty of time for signings. Brendan knows what he's doing.

6.) Jog on Norton you nay sayer. You think Lallana was cheap? Lovren & Markovic look like happening + Can, Lambert, Origi = £90 million odd pounds spent with 7 weeks of transfer window remaining. What the hell do you want!? I'm not even going to dignify your "we don't bother with" words, complain to Mrs. Sanchez if you're unhappy.

09 Jun 2014 11:06:45
Moreno is not of interest now, club unwilling to meet the price. Attention has now been placed back on Ryan Bertrand to compete with Flanagan at LB. Representatives will also be in Barcelona this week to discuss Sanchez. As Eds has mentioned before, Sanchez would only be an option if Suarez leaves, so I think there is a good chance that he will leave this Summer.

LFC_Londoner

1.) Well, if we don't up our bid to take Moreno & instead choose Bertrand and if we end up paying £30million for Lallana then I would say that Rodgers has proven again that he is s--t at summer transfer dealings.

2.) I hope we don't buy Lallana, I do like him but I wouldn't want to pay above £18 million for him.

3.) Agree with Sumon. Bertrand was rubbish for Villa and Chelsea.
Lambert and Bertrand. Jeez what a squad

{Ed030's Note - Lambert's a very good squad player imo, Never been a big fan of Betrand mind. }

23 Jan 2014 12:10:27
I have been reliably informed that Salah will indeed be going to Chelsea. Not sure of the full reason, but I assume it is down to the fee that they are offering being higher than ours. Expect an announcement in the next 48 hours. Real shame as I think we could have tied him down two weeks ago.

LFC_Londoner

1.) Total package for Basel and Salah was close to £10 million more than what we offered.

2.) Just shows we don't have the funds available to buy players .

3.) Why let a proven prem player like Mata go and then go for salah who is unproven? doesn't make sense to me, Chelski may be sniffing around Salah but I think Barkley from Everton is a more realistic target for them.

4.) Echo can confirm that Chelsea is close to signing Salah. It's down to us not able to agree on a fee. We paid the price for not paying the price. Earlier price was probably cheaper than the now 16m. Just show how weak our negotiator. So frustrated.

5.) 23 Jan 2014 14:35:34
If a £40m mata can't get game time, why does salah think he will get game time? Money orientated people can stay away from anfield all day every day! We all moan when we overspend! We must learn from mistakes, and not pay over odds! Salah 4 me is a young player who lacks the end product 60% of time, he can improve, but u only improve by playing, which he would do at Liverpool! Anyway we can't lose something we never had! There's 1000's of players across the world! Scouts need to earn there bread! Onwards and upwards, WE ARE LIVERPOOL F.C! *Y*N*W*A jft96!

Da Herbinator!

6.) Yes it is annoying, was a bit pissed off when I was told. 48 hours ago Chelsea came in for him, but it only really fed into the press 24 hours ago. Still, they get a transfer sorted in 3-4 days, we take 3-4 weeks.

7.) If salah wants to go and warm the chelsea bench on the way to the chelsea toilet rather than be a starter at Liverpool, we're better off without him.

8.) Starting to get frustrated by our inability to close a deal. In the last 2 or 3 windows we seem great at identifying good players with other clubs actually getting the deals done - Sigurdson, Willian, guy who went to Dortmund, etc and now Salah. We're either too ambitious or can't close a deal, but either way it's frustrating.

9.) 23 Jan 2014 15:27:43
Agree. M8! Think ian ayre needs to concentrate on tyhe business and get some one who specializes in negotiating, I know ex southampton fella corteze is talked about, but it needs sorted, time after time, player after player, its not like january is a suprised, we've had months to prepare, yet! We will leave it till last minute or even worst, won't get any 1n and we end up finishing behind spuds, blue rubbish and the mancs in 7th, j w henry and tom werner be warned, it will cost u a lot more spandoolies if u don't invest this month, you're call, us fans are helpless, looking at other clubs, wishing we was decisive in transfer market, u r are owners and we believe and trust you! *Y*N*W*A*

DHH 1980

10.) This is all the more galling when you see that we are supposedly 12th in the European rich list. I know this isn't about money, its about philosophy, but we have a great chance to qualify for CL football this season. Our squad lacks quality, we seemingly have money and yet we again fail to land our player. Who is this committee anyway? We need to nail these players to a contract that we are chasing rather than let other clubs sneak in because we haven't been quick enough to close

11.) Don't forget that we spent £50 million in the Summer. Granted we received about £25 million from sales, but given our spending in the past, it is understandable to be a bit cautious. I would love to have had Salah at the club, as would I like two or three others, but there you go. If you also consider that Sakho, Ilori, Aspas, Mignolet, and Alberto haven't really set the World alight, then I can certainly understand why they aren't splashing out a extra £16 million on one player.

20 Aug 2013 11:46:29
Hi eds. Cissokho appears to be training with the club, pictures have come out of him signing, but no announcement. Do you think we are waiting on news about Willian so we can make it a double announcement, or is this just coincidental? {Ed001's Note - just waiting on medical results to confirm the deal.}

LFC_Londoner

1.) Any chance of a profile on him Eds?

Thanks! {Ed001's Note - he is on the list.}

Haven't posted for a long time, but felt the need to now. Some of you have got to show a lot more patience, some of the things I read on here are getting silly. It is the 7th July and people are already criticising our signings for the window. There is plenty of time remaining. I get that things haven't gone great with VVD, but those asking the club to pay £60-£70million on Keita are having a laugh. He looks like a very promising player, but in a position that doesn't need the focus of our investment. I am all for squad depth, but you would be throwing a lot of the transfer pot in for a player who will improve us of course, but will not be able to prevent us from suffering in areas we have done so for the past 7 or 8 seasons.

Stop sulking and screaming, put the toys back in the pram, and let's see what happens.

LFC_Londoner

1.) 07 Jul 2017 12:30:44
Totally agree Londoner. We should move on from VVD and Keita and look at other quality additions to the defence and potentially another winger as cover for Mane and Salah.
I would be happy with a fullback in the mold of Dalbert or Bertrand and move Milner to RB. A solid CB other than VVD, and a young winger like Martins or Gray (Or promote Ojo or Wilson) Potentially a centre mid if Can leaves.
More importantly though is getting players off the books first - Sakho, Markovic, Stewart, Lucas, Moreno, maybe even Ward ( I know other may disagree but he won't play and he's worth more now than he likely will be next year after not playing) and one of Ings, Origi or Studge must surley leave. Personally I hope we keep Origi, has shown some real promise.

I think there were a lot of messages to come out of the game last night, but my top 3 are as follows. 1) What we all knew anyway, Lovren will cost us points this year. I know we have had two clean sheets, and Mignolet hasn't had to be tested much, but time after time he is out of position. 2nd half he was better, but still not good enough for us. 2) Lallana is an impact sub at best. I missed the first 30 seconds of the game yesterday, and didn't see the team sheet. 20 minutes in I heard his name for the first time. He was completely anonymous. 3) This isn't and excuse for our poor performance, but Bournemouth should stay up this season. They look very organised, the forwards combined well, and I love that Eddie Howe didn't back off and play 5 in midfield.

We need to make significant improvements at Arsenal, Can must start the game.

LFC_Londoner

1.) 18 Aug 2015 10:21:06
Think Skrtel will cost us more points than Lovren if I'm honest, he's going to get caught dragging players down eventually.

17 Aug 2015 12:38:32
I have a feeling that it may take us a little longer than hoped to break down Bournemouth tonight. I just hope the crowd remains supportive throughout. I reckon 2-0, both goals in the second half, Benteke to grab his first goal at Anfield.

LFC_Londoner

1.) 17 Aug 2015 14:50:57
Looks like we will have to be patient and wait until the second half when Rodgers makes the following changes :
Extra man In midfield (Can)
The 2nd striker (Firmino or Ings)

22 Feb 2015 20:43:25
I don't think tonight was amazing offensively, but you have to applaud the defence. I thought Lovren looked a bit shake in the first half, but looked solid in the second half. Moving Can to CB was an inspired move, and gives us someone who is comfortable on the ball and strong at distributing, two of the traits I loved in Agger. Markovic struggled a bit, Moreno made us look a lot more comfortable in the second half. Keep it going lads.

If the rumours are true, then Markovic will be banner for 4 European games. Absolutely outrageous. I watched Ivanovic assault someone and get nothing, but Markovic's finger flick warrants 4 games? Lack of consistency, albeit from different associations.

LFC_Londoner

1.) 17 Feb 2015 02:31:44
So you get 3 games for stamping and 4 for brushing someone with your hand? Unbelievable.

2.) Different committes I think

I tell you what, some of you lads must have the craziest lives. You all seem to read something on Twitter or on some of the dirt sheets and take it as gospel. If you want to come on the site and find out some of the rumours, then it is a perfect forum. However, if you want to come on here and slag off the club without a real understanding of what is going on, please don't bother. Transfers can come to fruition or collapse very quickly.

I don't think people should worry too much, Bertrand will not be a starter. Flanagan did enough last year to cement that spot for this season, and Ryan can be used for some rotation in the cup games. as well as competition for places. He is a good young player with a lot of talent, and Rodgers is the perfect man to unlock it.

As others have said before, our luck will run out. If we had won 1-0 through a legitimate goal, and threatened on a number of other occasions, and looked strong in defence, then 1-0 is fine. The reality is that they had a goal chalked off which was dubious, we scored a goal that should have been ruled out, and we weren't creative enough against a side who will be in the bottom half of the table, and are very inexperienced at this top level.

Very important unfortunately. Not only for the financials, but for future Champions League rankings as well. It isn't ideal having to go in the 3rd pot, Citeh being a good example of that.

I can't imagine that we are going to be spending much money in the Summer regardless of Champions League or not, but it will have an effect on who we target. The Europa League really is not ideal. They have put a small amount more in participation money, but not enough. Additionally, the fact that you need to win it to get to the Champions League makes it very tough.

On the flip side, Ibe wouldn't have been the same player he is now unless he got half a season of regular football. He is full of confidence after an excellent spell with Derby, and that reflects in his current performances. He wouldn't have had anywhere near the same sort of game time had he not gone out on loan.

Players are commonly shocked by the physicality of the Premier League. Although Sterling is small, he is actually pretty strong. Hopefully Markovic can put a few kilos on over the next 6 months and be stronger for the 2015/16 season.
