The rot started at Liverpool as most will see was when Alonso and Mascherano left the club. both still playing at top level and top clubs. Alonso would have been a good experienced signing last summer for his experience alone.
A suggestion. For the next premier league game drop Sterling and play Borini in the same role Sterling occupied against Man U. At least he would probably put those chances away that Sterling didnt. Sterling needs a rest anyway and better a rest now than burn out later in season.

In response to RedDawn comments concerning appointing Steve Mc Claren. I posted the suggestion a couple of weeks about him being an ideal replacement should the manager /head coach position comes available. There will be many who disagree but his cv is second to none. Many years at Man U as assistant to Ferguson and if he had stayed would probably be their manager now, experience coaching in Europe etc. His qualities far exceed the present occupant of the position. Also could look to a good 10 years continuity in the position.
1. He would stand no nonsense, expecting 100% at all times.
2. He would sort out the defence issues which is the current
priority.
3. He would give the local young players a chance.

1, 2amd 3 don't seem to be being addressed at the moment and I am not a coach but can see what every one else can.

To be fair, at least Henderson and Ballotelli cannot be blamed for this weeks performance.

There's no chance of beating Chelsea. Costa/ Drogba versus Balotteli is complete mismatch. Rogers by stating he would like to manage abroad, confirms his long term commitment is not with LFC in the way Wenger and Ferguson have. I see him as talking a good job, going through the motions till the big pay off comes.

While not supporting Johnsons performances, does anyone feel that if he has to be played he would be more suited to the position presently occupied by Gerrard.
