Any truth in the Yerry Mina rumours?
{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any Yerry Mina rumours that involve Liverpool at all. There have been discussions between the player and another side and he will be leaving Barcelona on loan.}

He's going to be the best cb in the world for about 10 years. Barcelona would be silly stupid to sell. He's so good! Absolute monster in defence. Imagine him and vvd. We wouldn't need a gk in net.

I agree with you ed1,he is one of the most unashetically pleasing players I have seen in my life, makes Sakho look like Rio Ferdinand!
He is certainly commanding in the air both in his box and the oppositions but isolate him one on one with the ball at your feet and he is a clumsy liability.

Don't care what use say. He played a part in completely locking us out today. Played through a groin strain. Kept up with a fresh vardy when injured and in extra time. Heart, passion, strength, power.
The same description was used for vvd. Athletically brilliant but an awful defender, lazy, show pony, waste of money. Yep go search all the comments from all those in the no.
Couldn't care less he scored apart from the fact that imagine that aerial threat for us defending and attacking. Like exactly what we need in the box when defending corners
I am praying we could pull this off. Would be insane!

Listen mina is a monster. We have vvd, Robertson, taa and fabinho to lock him into. That will protect a good amount of his flaws as he shouldn't be isolated to much.
Defending corners he will be magnificent.
Bullying players like lukaku will be to easy.
Showing heart, spirit, character for us will be a huge huge thing. More the merrier.
He also is at least 5 years away from what his prime could be.
Klopp is a terrific coach and vvd is an absolute beast of a partner for him.

Hey kloppboss go watch an actual game were Mina was forced to defend. One of the worst defensive performances I have ever seen in Barca's last game of the season. Cost them an unbeaten streak in the league. How can you say you don't care that he struggles with the basics of defending, you can't just buy a player just because he excels at one part of the defending.

Barcelona is not the greatest place to judge defenders bud. There so open it's mental. Busquets as cover for them that is it. Anyone who actually bothers attacking them can win, just no-one can get the ball.
Our defenders from Jan onwards very rarely apart from the United game, got really singled out but any defender can be made to look a tit.
Just remember city just won the league with otamendi. Otamendi though!
We're quality attacking, we have fabinho, vvd, Robbie and taa. We're solid nowadays and he's very young, got to a lot of learning and offers or something drastic we need with a big presence in our box from corners and attacking wise. He wouldn't even have to or probably won't anyway be a starter but he'd be great cover and might really excel under klopp and watch vvd.
I personally think he's an absolute monster and could really add a nasty side to our defence. Plus I would love to watch Jesus, hazard and such to just bounce off him.

Would be happy taking Maguire, watched him at Hull and thought we should have got him before Leicester took him, Robertson and Ox worked out very well and Maguire would be excellent alongside Van Dijk.

Mina is nothing special. He'd bring good depth, but I prefer to see them develop Gomez in a CB role.

Noticed that SOS have had a real go at UEFA in there statement, the main problem is UEFA don’t give finalist enough tickets but corporate get to many,
There must be something we as fans can do to alter the course of this, perhaps in the early rounds next year we could have a mass walk out like the Sunderland game or better still only go into the game for second half, something to give us maximum exposure and I’m sure othe top European clubs would join. surely this business has to come to a head soon, it’s been going on for far to long.

Organise mass fan boycotts of UEFA sponsors products unless they put pressure on UEFA to play fair. That’s the only way to do it.
They get massive exposure through Champions League televised games but their expenditure would be worthless if nobody was buying their products.
Believe me, it will take something drastic to stop UEFA from taking fans for fools.

It would be good but I would be very concerned that such a midfield (hypothetically Henderson/ Gini/ Ox (? ) Keita Lemar) is a little light weight, it's why Can is constantly selected despite almost certainly leaving - he has that physicality and strength which none of our other midfielders really have and, in the PL, it makes a difference. Never the less will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

Personally I think Joe Gomez playing on the left side of the back three rather than Klavan would provide better cover for Milner when he gets forward as Gomez is capable of covering across and getting 1v1 with wingers due to his pace.
Also it would allow us to change system to a back 4 at any point with Gomez going to left back. Also he's much more comfortable on the ball than Klavan.

I don't agree that we are short of suitable wing backs, Max. It's having three solid centre backs who have the positional sense to play together in a back three is where the system falls down.

Yes we do, we have Moreno who basically plays wingback even in a back 4 and Milner can go on the right so that we have better end product. With the height of WBA and the injuries we have, a back three might be the best.
I agree with the argument of Gomez at LCB (in a back 3). Middle: Can, Wijnaldum, Coutinho, ST; Firmino, Sturridge in a 3412 or 532 which ever way you look at it.

I'm not a big fan of a back 3 because I think Klavan and Lovren are relatively poor out wide, but if we do play it we need to play 3-4-3 like in the second half of Stoke rather than 3-5-1-1 which left Woodburn and Origi isolated. At least with a 3-4-3 we also have 3 players upfront that can add width if necessary and control possession going forward.
Assuming a 3-4-3 I'd go for
Lovren - Matip - Gomez
TAA - Wiji - Can - Milner
Firmino - Origi - Coutinho
Use Sturridge off the bench once opposition tires.

Honestly hadn't thought about it but good points lads, if we are to play a back 3 I think it would be the perfect time to try and integrate joe as he has that bit of pace and could switch to full back!
Also I'd love to see haych's team given a shot but honestly would prefer if we played our regular formation, give woodburn ojo or Wilson a shot at wing and grujic in midfield we would then have two of origi studge and firmino to bring on to change it up.

Wilmots is a terrible manager, but picking Witsel over the players he has at his disposal is borderline stupidity. They've only played one good team so far, and they got found out by Italy for the lack of balance in their defence, and the lack of control in their midfield.

Wilmots is tactically inept and woeful coach. If Belguim had a manager as quality as their squad they could and would dominate international football. They almost don't have a weak area and at least two sides available which are capable of winning everything. They just do not have a coach who can get them playing as a team, or able to pick an 11 which can have a plan B.

Lee Cattermole is hopeless, and just as much of a thug as Fellaini is. He was read the riot act after his club got sick of him being sent off 5 times a season, not that it mattered as he would just run around 10 minutes behind the ball, lunging at players he was too slow to keep up with.
