Got an old fashioned rumour for you all! Am currently in Amsterdam and went on the Ajax stadium tour today. The tour guide mentioned that the current captain De ligt could be leaving to the likes of juventus, man city and Liverpool being interested. Make of it what you will.

1.) 15 Jun 2018 23:57:51
I'm sure half of Europe are 'interested'

2.) 16 Jun 2018 09:37:18
If you are in the Dam go to the Globe Sports Bar on Oudezidjvoorburgwal in the Red Light district, great place to watch the games.

3.) 16 Jun 2018 13:09:01
I always liked the Bluebird coffeeshop, very interesting menus!

4.) 16 Jun 2018 22:16:25
I love the bluebird!

So fellow reds,

With 12 games left, how are we feeling about the title run in?

Win 12 games or win 11 and draw 1 and we will be champions. The question is are we capable of doing that?

Watching City yesterday, unfortunately they looked back to their very best from last season. Will they drop many more points from now til May?

Hard questions to answer. Both of our run ins are very similar with the utd games probably playing a big part in where the title goes.

All I can say is let's enjoy the ride, the team has done great so far. Yes it'd be very disappointing if we didn't win it this year, considering the position we were in/ could be in. Whatever happens I think we should be proud of the team and get behind them as much as we can. Let's hope we can get over the line.

Jord2005

1.) 11 Feb 2019 13:25:35
J am thinking we'll lose 1, draw 1 and win the rest. We're going to win this league mate.

2.) 11 Feb 2019 13:39:13
Thing is I can see City loosing any games from here including Utd. Think they will finish on 98points. It’s going to be a struggle unless we win every game. Utd and Eve away will be huge tests for us as will Spurs and Chelsea at Anfield.

3.) 11 Feb 2019 13:43:47
*cant.

4.) 11 Feb 2019 13:58:12
I see us winning 10, likely losing at United and drawing vs Chelsea.
Where that'll put us I don't know.
Thing is I can also see City failing to win another 2 games.

I think it likely that United, Chelsea and Spurs games will probably decide it, with few if any shock results.
And it's in these big games where City edges it for me.

Of course there may possibly be another Newcastle lurking around. Another West Ham.
There's no nailing it down 100%.

Both City and us could win all our remaining matches (good for us) . Equally we could botch it again in 3 or more games.

I've decided that it's probably pointless predicting or forecasting outcomes, really. It will be what it will be. No one knows. Only certainty is that it's literally in our hands. But even that is no guarantee that we won't flunk it.

Gonna be an interesting few months. Or it won't.

5.) 11 Feb 2019 15:28:09
I think we'll be favourites again as soon as we're done with beating United.

Then the attitude of the fans will change from nervous to confident and the players will feel it.

6.) 11 Feb 2019 15:29:36
City thought they were going to steamroll the league and that is what went against them. Whoever thought they would lose 4 games aginst midtable and bottom teams? City certainly didn't.
Regardless of how we do I think City will drop points in some of their last five games. Let City score 10 goals a game, it's still only three points, and will encourage teams to park the bus even more and hope for a breakaway goal.
We have lost one game this season and are still in this race, and people need to stop listening to SSN, BBC sports, etc. you would think it was Liverpool that had lost four games.
It's still in our own hands.

7.) 11 Feb 2019 15:30:03
Pointless to compare, so many variables. What if City advance far in the champs league? Are they going to continue to field there strongest team in the premier league with the possibility of winning a trophy that has eluded them for this long?

What if we lose to Bayern? What if we advance? What if Aguero gets injured? What if Salah gets injured?

I'm enjoying the ride, but I have a good feeling about this year.

8.) 11 Feb 2019 15:33:53
City do have a lot more games to play. I just hope that has a negative affect on them at some point because they are a machine when they get going like they are at the moment.
We've been able to stay with them this far so I do expect it going down to the wire. If we can keep everyone fit then I think we will take it by a point or 2.

9.) 11 Feb 2019 15:39:59
Surely all the twists and turns we’ve had so far show we should stop predicting what will happen? City we’re battering everyone before that slump as well.

Let’s just enjoy the ride and cheer the boys on, then see where we end up.

10.) 11 Feb 2019 16:17:26
That Chelsea team yesterday were woeful. I would rather be in our position than in cities so they should be the ones worrying.

11.) 11 Feb 2019 16:33:12
Why do people all of a sudden think a team that has lost four in 26 will suddenly win 12 from 12?Anyone would think yesterday was the first hiding they've handed out all season.

12.) 11 Feb 2019 16:39:06
We hace to play 4 hard games Everton United Tottenham and Chelsea and City only 2 Tottenham and United. This games will impact in our title hopes of course if any lose against a top 6 outsider is Game over.

13.) 11 Feb 2019 16:41:41
Spot on, Little Naby. Beggars belief really. The whole "I can't see City dropping any points" stuff need to put that to bed cos Palace, Chelsea, Leicester and esp. Newcastle has debunked that talking point, royally. Also, Pep after the Everton game said he expects City to drop points so there's that.

Having said that, this is TOO close to call, IMO. Too many twists and turns have happened already that anyone calling this a City or LFC title cannot be believed. City and their sheep in the media are the ones hyping them up after they beat Chelsea 6-0, a result that has NO bearing on us except we allow it to. We have to just focus on our own football.

The fact that we are STILL standing tall after all our issues of late, is a testament to this manager and these fantastic players who put their bodies and health on the line every week to realize something that few think is still possible. One game at a time and we will see what happens.

14.) 11 Feb 2019 17:13:01
VakPa, so one of our ‘hard’ games is Chelsea at Anfield,
the same Chelsea who lost 4-0 at Bournemouth and 6-0 at City. How does that work then?

15.) 11 Feb 2019 17:48:27
It’s a long old season fellas and whoever ends up top of the pile in May fully deserve it. We’ve enjoyed a hell of a run but also picked up points we arguably didn’t deserve (Man City draw, Origi at Everton and more recently Leicester and West Ham) so there’ll be no sour grapes from me if City go on an amazing run now. We haven’t got the squad they have and the recent injuries have disrupted our performances. Just staying the distance with them deserves credit and is a huge improvement on last year. Personally I still think there’s a few tweaks required. Another classy option up top, a fully firing Keita and Ox plus a quality CB option would make us a very realistic possibility for next year IF we run out of legs and luck again.

16.) 11 Feb 2019 17:50:57
Oh come on Wirral Wonder, they’ve also already beat us this season in the cup and have top class players. 2 very poor results does not stop them potentially taking points off us.

17.) 11 Feb 2019 18:30:53
KK92, you are right and I phrased my post badly. I just do not regard Chelsea as any more a ‘hard’ game than say, Wolves at home. The truth is we have 12 hard games left. Chelsea appear to have thrown their hand in, certainly in away games. I watched their game against City yesterday and they were woeful.

18.) 11 Feb 2019 18:53:47
KK92 make not mistake about it, Chelsea can still hurt us esp. with Hazard as we seem to never have an answer for him.

19.) 11 Feb 2019 20:54:35
The simple answer to the op is simply no. By George I want it to happen though.

20.) 12 Feb 2019 07:49:44
Well Walter, if you look at the results against the same 12 teams earlier this season you will see we won 11 and drew 1.
So the simple answer is not ‘no’ the simple answer is ‘yes’ we can win 11 and draw 1 against those teams because that’s exactly what we have done already this season.

🏆🏆.

A few news outlets claiming that Allison will be Liverpool's last signing of the summer. I must say what a great transfer window we've had! I know I shouldn't be but I am slightly disappointed we haven't replaced coutinho as that seemed the main aim of the window. But I guess klopp decided that other areas needed strengthening more. Our squad looks it's strongest in years and I for one can't wait for the new season!

Jord2005

1.) 19 Jul 2018 05:56:10
Don't believe the news outlets 100% mate personally still think we will get fekir and Alisson.

2.) 19 Jul 2018 05:58:17
Ah I wouldn’t believe a word of it, there is still (exactly) 3 weeks to go until the window closes and we will probably still sign Fekir. Unless Klopp has said himself and it is quoted then I won’t believe anything the rags report haha.

3.) 19 Jul 2018 05:58:23
For me the main aim of this window was a new keeper.

4.) 19 Jul 2018 06:18:49
“I don’t think so, I don’t hope so, ” said Klopp when asked about whether he will still be making signings come deadline day.

“Maybe something happens but it should not be the last day. I really thought the idea of moving the transfer window [closing date to August 9] was good but only if we do it all together.

“In terms of squad planning, I am fine. In terms of football, we are in a good way but not where we want to be. A lot will come once the other boys are back [after playing in the World Cup].

“We will be fine at the end. At the moment, I am happy with the squad. Could something still happen? We will see. "

I found this lol
He hasn’t said nobody else is coming, just a "we will see". The tease xD.

5.) 19 Jul 2018 06:54:25
I belive the money for Fekir has been used to bring in Alisson and this will be the end of our purchases.

6.) 19 Jul 2018 07:59:07
Booboy, perhaps you may be right but have you accounted for the fees to be received for Sturridge, Origi, Wijnaldum, Mignolet, Ings, Markovic and Moreno?

7.) 19 Jul 2018 08:01:25
Rover is correct (again) 👍.

8.) 19 Jul 2018 08:21:18
It's alright counting the fees for Sturridge, Origi, Wijnaldum, Mignolet, Ings, Markovic and Moreno - the only problem is that none of them have been sold.
So what fees?

Football fans make me laugh! We are so fickle it's unbelievable! After the man city result, we were all praising klopp, saying we can beat anyone on our day and champions league glory is beckoning! After 2 very disappointing and admittedly embarrassing results it's all negative! Klopp out, we need a new team, sell everyone! I'm not just talking about posts just on these pages, I'm talking about different pages I've read over the past weeks. We should be getting behind the manager and team at times like this not abusing them!

Sadly the frailties that have let us down during the past 2 games are nothing new. Defensively very poor! Lack of protection from the midfield, lack of creative quality and ideas from the midfield. Against opposition that sit deep we've always struggled and I admit it's so frustrating to sit and watch because you know exactly what's going to happen. From what macca and the eds have said, klopp is aware of these issues and wants to strengthen the weak areas. It'd be very frustrating if we don't get anyone in this window and it's looking increasingly unlikely but I'd rather not panic buy as that's got us no where in the past. We have a good team, we just need to get our form back, finish in the top 4 and build again for next year.

We have come forward under klopp (I know that can be up for debate with certain people) but I do think we have moved forward. Not massive steps but still better than where we were. If we buy right in the summer, new goalkeeper and creative midfielder are the musts for me. But another centre back, a defensively minded midfielder, right back and back up striker wouldn't go a miss either. Keep our best players, sell the likes of Milner, Ings, Sturridge, Can, Lovern, Mignolet. I think we'll be challenging on all fronts. Let just hope the team can turn things around for the rest of the season. Let's not get too high when we win but not get too low when we lose either.

Jord2005

1.) 28 Jan 2018 14:28:50
This team will bounce back and will fly in the latter half of the season.

2.) 28 Jan 2018 15:12:28
yes they will fly in the later part of season, till that time we will be out of Fa cup and Cl, so no trophy this year and may be out of the top 4 race.

3.) 28 Jan 2018 15:36:47
We don’t actually have a really good team.

We have some good attacking players.

We have a good left back in Robertson.

We have bought ourselves a good centre back in van Dijk.

We have no good midfielders, we don’t have a good right back and we don’t have a good partner for van Dijk in defence.

Ward is the only decent keeper we appear to have and he’s a million miles away from the first team.

In this context a mid season collapse was always likely.

4.) 28 Jan 2018 16:03:45
Let’s be realistic, another 5 minutes in the City game and we’d be looking at 3 defeats on a row.

I like Klopp and am not advocating that he is replaced, but he hasn’t addressed some obvious weaknesses and can be too stubborn. I don’t need to mention the goalkeeping situation, other than it highlights one aspect of his stubbornness.

Teams don’t win trophies if they are completely unbalanced. Klopp must surely know that but seems reluctant to address that. It can be argued that Man City have as much, if not more, attacking talent than us. However they are not embarrassed to have a player like Fernandinho protecting the back 4. Any defender in the country can be made to look poor if they are left within cover.

5.) 28 Jan 2018 16:16:31
"We have a good left back in Robertson. " lol.

6.) 28 Jan 2018 17:08:49
I never said we have a really good team, I simply said we have a good team. Which we do. These are talented players that got us a top four finish last season for the first time in years. For whatever reason, in the last 2 games they haven't been good enough. They haven't been good enough in other games this season either. That's just football sometimes.

Don't forget after the man city game this midfield was over the top praised! Can was apparently a beast, ox was a future captain and gini was immense. Now they are all not good enough and need to be sold. It's ridiculous!

I'm not the biggest fan of some of our players but if they pull on the red shirt I'll support them until the day they leave. My point was, some fans need to gain some perspective and get behind the team. I agree klopp is stubborn but it sounds like he wants to address the weak areas but with the players he wants only.

7.) 28 Jan 2018 17:18:48
Doom and gloom merchants.

31 Aug 2017 16:13:43
According to sky sports arsenal have bid £92 million for Lemar and Liverpool haven't got any intention of going back in for him. VVD looking unlikely too as Southampton not still not willing to sell. Doesn't look like anything major is going to happen today fellas.

Jord2005

1.) 31 Aug 2017 16:22:32
Great we get Chamberlain and they get Lemar. Just waiting for the news to say Coutinho is off to really ruin my day.

23 Aug 2017 20:42:21
You'll probably all slate me for this but where is this famous anfield atmosphere?! A part from the first 10 minutes it's like watching them play in a museum! We're playing some brilliant attacking football and the atmosphere just seems flat! It might be different being there live but watching on TV it seems dead! Anfield should be bouncing!

Fantastic attacking performance so far! 3rd goal was pure class! Questionable defensively again though, for me Lovern and Moreno are the weak links in the team, although Moreno has been great going forward. More goals to come hopefully!

Jord2005

{Ed001's Note - if it is the same live feed that Bein have got, the crowd volume was turned down partway through so that the commentary could be heard more clearly. It has made it sound terrible, no idea if it is anything like as bad at the ground, but it is impossible to judge from the TV pics tonight.}

1.) 23 Aug 2017 20:45:55
Same with the Celtic match on BT yesterday. Could hardly hear the fans after about 5 minutes of the game.

2.) 23 Aug 2017 22:10:24
Was watching on German TV too (pls, don't ask why) and the volume seemed to be turned down too as it seemed that there was no atmosphere at the ground either.

3.) 23 Aug 2017 22:13:30
That's what I hate about UCL coverage, the crowd volume is always turned down - at least in australia when UCL has always been either ESPN or BeIn. It's some shitty american thing.

I can understand a lot of us being underwhelmed if we signed Butland, especially after being linked with the likes of Allison and Olbak. But is he an upgrade on what we have? Probably yes, I think we've been priced out of a move for a truly world class goalkeeper. So let's hope if this rumour is true, Klopp can get the best out of him and let's support the lad! He could be a great signing for us.

No he didn't, the sky sports presenter interrupted Jamie to bring some which was Wilshire to Birmingham. When they went back to Jamie, he said don't interrupt me for that, that's isn't . Van Dijk to Liverpool would be .

Just more depth up front, especially the wide areas and possibly another centre back if Klavan leaves. Other than that, we're looking well equipped! If we sign Fekir and a goalkeeper that is!
