Buvac likely to return soon, he is back in the city and has had several discussions with Klopp.

John Lennon

1.) 09 May 2018 13:47:00
Sorry if it's been covered and I missed it, but; Klopp clearly wants him back from what Ed's saying, so did he resign to pursue his own ambitions, or because of a fall out Klopp hopes to resolve?

{Ed001's Note - it is not that simple.}

06 Apr 2018 01:17:04
The Mirror is reporting that Emre Can is out for the season and possibly will miss the World Cup as well. Any truth to this?

I've been reading a lot about the effect of Robert Lewandowski's potential transfer to Madrid. Apparently, they are very keen on Firmino as a replacement. I can't see it happening myself but maybe one to look out for during the Summer.

John Lennon

1.) 22 Mar 2018 06:49:04
More likely they will sign Werner in my opinion.

2.) 22 Mar 2018 07:23:21
If there is no buy out clause in his contract they simply can't afford him.

3.) 22 Mar 2018 07:37:50
I agree with mk. Bayer have done it for years. Not just taking the best talent from within Germany but taking from teams and making them weaker as such.

4.) 22 Mar 2018 07:46:37
I think they’d go for Werner as well. Bobby is staying out, he loves it here.

5.) 22 Mar 2018 08:02:06
Bayern isn't a selling Club. They haven't let anybody go that the didn't want to as they don't need the Money. If you look at the outs of the recent years youll see that bayern haven't sold any of their starting 11 players (Kroos was in and out the starting 11) so i don't think they will start doing it now.

6.) 22 Mar 2018 09:39:36
We need that piano teeth smile in our team!

7.) 22 Mar 2018 16:25:32
I won't be surprised if Lewandoski leaves. He's 29. Last chance for a massive contract and he may think he has a better chance of winning the Champions League with Ronaldo in his team.
However, I think Bayern will go for Werner and not Firmino. Werner is more of a traditional striker than Firmino and that fits more with Bayern's style.

8.) 22 Mar 2018 20:09:39
So far Salah hasn't stayed at a club for more than 2 seasons. Now hopefully he has found his spiritual home. However I think we need to win the league next year or forget it until we rebuild after he leaves.

15 Mar 2018 13:33:12
OUT at end of season:
Milner
Lallana
Clyne
Ward
Can
Matip
Bogdan
Ings?

Thoughts?

John Lennon

1.) 15 Mar 2018 13:49:27
wijnaldum?

2.) 15 Mar 2018 13:58:05
I think Klopp wil give Matip another year before making a final decision. He only joined last year. Even though no transfer fee was paid for him, the club will probably expect in excess of 30Mil, and given this year's performances, I doubt there are many takers.

3.) 15 Mar 2018 13:58:18
Would rather keep Lallana. I don't see why he is getting so much stick at the moment. he's been a long term injury but was one of our best players before that. He is our only midfielder (not including salah and mane) who has a bit of magic in his boots, an ability to spot pass's other don't and make something of nothing. A bad move to move him on I think.

4.) 15 Mar 2018 14:07:57
I'd expect Mignolet, Bogdan, Clyne, Flanagan, Randall, Williams, Can, Milner, Lallana, Matkovic, Sturridge and Origi.

Maybe one of Matip or Lovren. Possibly the likes of Ward, Moreno, Grujic, Ings, Kent, Ojo, Awoniyi and Allan.

5.) 15 Mar 2018 14:50:37
I agree Lallana is a quality player but honestly he’s not going to win the league for us with his quality in the final third.

6.) 15 Mar 2018 16:54:01
I agree on all but Milner and Ings. If Milner agrees to be a backup and cut his salary then okey but otherwise the best decision will be to let him go. I hope Ings stays, he deserves a full year at the club to prove him self, hopefully injury free.

7.) 15 Mar 2018 18:39:00
Milner wants first team football so will likely leave, and good luck to him he’s an excellent pro. I’d say likely departures are between

Mignolet.
Ward (but hope he stays) .
Flannaghan.
Randall.
Clyne.
One of Matip or Klavan.
Markovic.
Milner.
Lallana.
Can.
Sturridge.
Origi.
Ings.

It will be more departures than arrivals for me this summer. I hope Grujic, Woodburn, Gallagher, Brewster and Wilson kick on next season and get more games or prem loans at least. Five youngsters who could really be future stars for us.

8.) 15 Mar 2018 20:14:47
If Ward and Mignolet go what are the GK plans? More so if a new number one comes in will Karius stay or is there a complete change of keepers?

9.) 15 Mar 2018 20:15:56
Jonesred what about ojo?

10.) 15 Mar 2018 20:48:20
I think lallana should be given at least another season quite a useful player when fully fit.
Sturridge ings mignolet possibly moreno would be my guess as to the favourites to go. I think milner keeps a squad place due to the number of positions he can play.

11.) 16 Mar 2018 00:42:08
I would keep lallana without doubt. Milner too, and of course Can but that's likely a no go.
Migs will go, matip/ lovren if we buy another cb. Clyne cause we've been looking at rbs. Can cause he wants to. Sturridge cause he's unfortunately a write off. If he was a car he'd have been made into tin cans by now. Origi will likely not come back. But other than that I'd say we'll keep the team together.

12.) 16 Mar 2018 04:03:27
Ed's what is the English quota clubs need to carry?

{Ed001's Note - need to carry? No such thing, they don't have any quota of English players they have to reach.}

13.) 16 Mar 2018 04:10:42
oh ok my mistake, always thought there was. Thanks Ed.

{Ed001's Note - no, never has been. There is a quota of home-grown players, but they can be from Timbucktoo and still qualify as home-grown.}

14.) 16 Mar 2018 05:05:29
Has Milner himself said he wants to play first team and needs more gametime? or is this and assumption here?
If he wants to stay, I'd like to keep Milner for whatever money. For me he is the English guy you want in the dressing room -all fun and high spirits and of course genuine professional. Kind of a silent leader who can lift morale in the room and lift the team on the pitch with and absurd tackle or two. Him and Hendo make a good english duo for us.
PS- i think Milner should grow a Moustache like the one he had a leeds.

{Ed001's Note - Milner has always maintained that he wants more gametime and first team football. It is why he left Man City to join us in the first place.}

15.) 16 Mar 2018 05:13:26
Oh! that is a pity ed, I'd love to keep milner. i do appreciate him as a player. couldn't we convince him?

{Ed001's Note - why would we want to? It is much better for him to go and play elsewhere and we can have someone who isn't costing us £150k a week on the bench. If he had not been at the club, Robertson, for instance, would have got his chance from the bench much sooner.}

16.) 16 Mar 2018 05:18:29
I was thinking in relation to us saving money on a midfielder and investing our resources on a CB and GK, who i think should be a massive priority.
If Milner was leave that leaves us a bit thin in the midfield and then club will look to replace. which might effect other targets? or would that be completely unrelated.

{Ed001's Note - unrelated. The club know about his desires and it is being prepared for. Look at it this way, Trent Alexander-Arnold is being prepared for a midfield role, if Milner stays that will not happen next season as Milner will get the minutes Trent would otherwise get.}

17.) 16 Mar 2018 05:28:17
Oh that's great news about TAA, with his delivery and passing TAA could really be asset in the midfield. Yea definitely should proceed with youth.
I was thinking of milner in a mentor role, but well its gametime that he wants and his game time will cut into the minutes of TAA, grujic, ejaria etc. so its almost a no brainer now.
I just wish club has right plans for these players and don't rush into panic buying because they feel they have less mids.

{Ed001's Note - hopefully they do have good plans in place.}

18.) 16 Mar 2018 10:49:35
Lallana has no magic in his boots and why he is on the bench. I don’t know how people rate him! Bang aveage player who is only good enough to press! Takes far too many touches and no turns juts to shocase his skills! He has absolutely no vision to pick players hence he was never given any responsibilities to dictate the game when he was in form! He could press so could AOC!
The team has upped a level or two meanwhile Lallana is still where he was! If he wasn’t English the club would have sold him ahead ago!

Are we interested in Mario Lemina from Southampton? Seen lots of reports linking us with him today.

One bit of good news - Egyptian FA seem confident Salah will be able to play in World Cup. He will be out for around 2 weeks and will still make the final Egyptian squad.

Hopefully, it is Mo's final decision and not due to immense pressure because a whole nation there is on his shoulders. Worst case scenario would be he still plays even though he isn't fully fit and does further damage long term.

Weve probably all seen the photo of Mo at the end of the game, with his sling and just looking mentally and physically exhausted. I think last night is going to drive him even more, thank you Mo for a great season of football.

John Lennon

1.) 27 May 2018 17:04:05
Hope Salah’s Egypt humiliate Ramos’s Spain at some point. I’ve not followed the draw.

2.) 27 May 2018 17:43:02
Chuffed for salah, going to have me in tears again.

27 May 2018 10:20:41
Feels like 13/ 14 again, everything that could have gone wrong did - Salahs injury, karius' awful mistakes, Bales unbelievable goal.

It's difficult to be optimistic after that but we will be a stronger team next season 100% with Keita, possibly fekir and I'm sure some other players. But I feel Gerrard made a great point a few days ago when he basically said along the lines of "Sometimes as a team you get stronger but it doesn't automatically mean you will get to where you have done before. " I hope this isn't the case.

I can't imagine what Karius must be feeling now. I've always felt he has had an issue with being lax (compared to Mignolets obvious nerves), and he started the game very well with some decisive punches and off his line. It is very rare that a single player loses you a game - but his mistakes could not have come at worse times. I have been a staunch defender of him in the past but I think this needs to be addressed in the summer.

We've been very unlucky with our injuries, particularly in midfield, but our midfield looked weak tonight technically when we needed to hold the ball we lost it and our creative outlet was just not there.

Even still, this defeat feels bitter in the manner it was taken, I don't think we were ever "outclassed". Klopp and the younger lads need to take this defeat and use it. Lovren, TAA, Mane and Bobby all worked their absolute socks off last night and played well deserve credit for that.

In one last parting note of bitterness haha, I don't think I have seen a more lucky team or manager than madrid and Zidane!
We go again next season!

Great post, JL.

10 May 2018 22:38:07
I saw some people worried that Mane wasn't in training today. There's no need to panic, he's been given a day off and he even stopped his car whilst out and about to have a kick around with some kids!

John Lennon

1.) 11 May 2018 09:36:32
Imagine if he got injured them children’s would be disowned haha.

Regarding Buvac - Firstly, this has happened before. They have a notoriously volatile relationship, not over necessarily personal reasons, but over football (tactics, training etc. ) . Secondly, it remains to be seen whether this time the argument runs much deeper and he will leave, or he will return from the break and stay with klopp.

In my opinion, I believe he will return, this is a 25 year old professional and personal relationship and I can't see this being the end of Buvac's association with Klopp. However, if it is indeed permanent, it will be a huge blow to the club. Buvac is the "brain" of the management and Klopp has never worked without his help, so it could have a negative impact. Let's hope it is just temporary!

John Lennon

1.) 30 Apr 2018 14:40:21
for this to come out as the team are leaving for the 2nd semi final leg in Roma is not good,
it really does look like a dispute between Buvac and Klopp and they have fallen out,
if we do get to the final, and Buvac is not there too, then he shouldn't be allowed back,
of course if its for family reasons, we should look after him .

2.) 30 Apr 2018 14:57:38
Ed confirmed on the others page. Buvac and Klopp have had a dispute because Klopp is taking more advice on team selection from Andreas Kornmayer nowadays, and Buvac no longer feels important.

Shame he feels that way but I'm sure Klopp will be able to handle the situation. He must really value Kornmayers views for "the Brain" to feel as though they are being taken more seriously than his own.

3.) 30 Apr 2018 15:18:15
It’s Rafa and Pako all over again 🙄
Drama queens. 👸👜.

4.) 30 Apr 2018 15:27:52
What a pathetic situation given the timing if it is over people feeling important.

5.) 30 Apr 2018 15:44:24
I know Ron. Luckily, Klopp has a few people in his back up brigade. With Rafa it was pretty much just him, Valero and Pako.

Klopp has Buvac, Krawietz, Achterberg and Kornmayer. So losing 1 of 5 main coaches should be a softer blow than when we lost Pako who was one of 3 main coaches.

All teams have loads of first team coaches, but Klopp seems to take advice from more people than most normal managers do. Between the 4 that are left, I'm sure they still have enough ideas between them. I'd like to think that after 17 years, Klopp might be able to second guess what Buvac would do anyway!

6.) 30 Apr 2018 17:53:42
It's just a distraction, at this point BUT this has been an issue between them for weeks now as described in this thread and yet, the players have been dropping dimes on teams like City, Roma, Bournmouth etc so everyone should just stay focused on the task at hand and block out the noise and not give it any more attention than it deserves which is IMO, not much.

7.) 30 Apr 2018 17:54:09
Which page is that MK? I’ve tried the search for Kornmayer but nothing has come up.

8.) 30 Apr 2018 18:36:48
Other post coco 👍🏻.

9.) 30 Apr 2018 18:40:04
Easier to just copy it for you mate.

{Ed001's Note - no I won't do that.

I can update on Buvac, the falling out is definitely not about certain players as such, this is a case of him getting less say into team selection because Klopp is taking more advice from the fitness coaches etc. It is a personal thing, he feels like he is no longer a valued member of staff. }

Kornmayer is head of fitness and is the guy who sits behind Klopp on match days. The One who looks like he could be his brother or something 😂 Ed001 didn't specifically name drop Kornmayer. I just know he is head of fitness and came in 2016. Which might explain why after 17 years, they've fallen out now.

I'm sure Klopp has worked with plenty of Fitness coaches, but Kornmayer is a bit like Pako was Though, in that he is also a good football coach. I interpreted that as why Buvac might be a bit put out recently.

ED001, I'm seeing a lot about how Keita's overall price is dependant on Leipzigs league position. Is this true? Apparently the price will go down to 48 million if they finish outside the top 7? Thanks in advance.

John Lennon

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure of the amounts but it does depend on positioning.}

1.) 30 Apr 2018 06:12:24
If RBL fail to qualify for Europe altogether for next season, then any premium that we promised to pay them for getting the Keita deal one year in advance will be removed. He had a release clause of 55 million euros, and I guess that's what we pay them if they finish outside the European places. Price goes upto 60 if they get Europa and 66 in case they make the UCL.
If the Eds can verify this, then cool.

Fekir/ Dembele would be brilliant signings.

I haven't seen Ceballos play in a while but I know he hasn't been given much of a shot at Real Madrid and he was very very highly rated when he was at Betis. I'd be happy if we moved for him as the Ed's suspect us to do.

I hope we stay away from Tarkowski (who I have never before this post Macca seen us linked with) - He has huge help in defence from Mee and Dyche's set up.

Butland - Karius is better, however, if this is due to Mignolet and Wards departures it does make sense. Will also keep Karius on his toes. Maybe if we do sign him he can recapture some of the promise that we all saw from him a couple of years ago, when he was shaping up to be a good keeper,

Yeah I wouldn't disagree with you Adam, I do like Gini at the 6 too. I'm just fed up of the previous posters "I told you so attitude" about Henderson. Henderson will never be appreciated by the fan base because he's not Steven Gerrard, and I find that frustrating. Hendo was immense in the city game, mopping up and calming things down time and time again. Roma game he bullied Nainggolan, something that can't be underestimated.

I think you're giving Madrid a bit too much respect there mate. Defensively they are very suspect, I saw Marcelo up at CF numerous times in the game tonight. I think Madrid will suit us well personally, both their full backs will push up high and leave gaps for Salah and Mane to run into. As good as Ronaldo is, he won't press or track back as much as say Bobby for example. Of course they have very good players - Ronaldo, Modric, Isco even Ramos can be a rock at the back for them but Bayern were unlucky not to reach the final IMO. Also, some of the refereeing decisions that Madrid have got given during this run in have been scandalous, again, Bayern should have had a penalty tonight for handball. I would fancy our chances against Madrid for sure after tonight.

John Lennon

{Ed0333's Note - from what I saw John Ronaldo was tracking back and didn’t at all go awol defensively.
