Just a random question to any of the Ed's. Do you know if it was the plan to play Gomez and TAA at Rb this season and interchange them so often, or if Clyne was fit would he be starting and his injury rather forced Klopps hand? Thanks!

JoeyTheRed

{Ed001's Note - Klopp has been looking to replace Clyne for a few seasons, the plan was to buy a right back and sell Clyne.}

1.) 07 Mar 2018 07:58:46
I'd sell matip, move Gomez centrally and then see how lovren performs for the rest of the seasons. Depending on whether he plays well or not, then buy a CB to replace him, or buy a right back and have Gomez rotating CB.

2.) 07 Mar 2018 08:30:00
Good plan Ed1 mate. I don't want to sound too harsh but I don't want to see Clyne play for us again lol he's no good and never was. Somebody a few weeks ago tried to tell me Clyne was a good player, I have no idea what games they've been watching of him.

3.) 07 Mar 2018 11:47:05
He’s no improvement on Glen Johnson. Said so at the time and nothing has changed my opinion.

4.) 07 Mar 2018 12:14:44
Exactly my thoughts too Gmac.

5.) 10 Mar 2018 01:50:12
Does having Trent and Joe doing so well remove the need for an addition once Clyne is moved on?

Hi Ed's, asked recently about Lovren's injury and you said ask in a few days. Any updates?

JoeyTheRed

{Ed002's Note - The club has not said anything yet.}

1.) 17 Apr 2018 10:26:39
Looking at who we have in the next couple of games, Klavan should be able to step up as he does well against physical centre forwards.

Everything pleasing today, again! We are in an exciting era as a Liverpool fan. We have to appreaciate the beauty we are seeing week in week out. One negative from today, and a question to the ed's, any updates on Lovren's injury that forced him off? Hope it isn't serious he's been brilliant recently.

JoeyTheRed

{Ed002's Note - Ask in a few days about the injury.}

1.) 14 Apr 2018 23:19:05
Ed is Gomez close too a comeback at all, and is doucore a defensive midfielder i agree with u we need a sitter who is defensively minded.

{Ed002's Note - (a) At best a couple of weeks according to the club. (b) No.}

Game day! No better feeling. Come on redmen.

What about a win on game day!

2.) 31 Mar 2018 10:02:22
I sometimes envy supporters of mid table teams. They get to 40 points and relax, with the only real tension coming in cup games and derbies or the odd 6 pointer. Every match day I am so stressed out, especially toward the end of the season when we are playing for something. I can't begin to enjoy a game until we have a 2 goal cushion. Then I remember the years where we have had little to play for and no chance of success and change my mind. I love Liverpool and I love watching us, no matter what type of football we play. These days it is a joy. And if we lose I can always revert to "oh well, its only a game" I reckon we'll win today, Roy is quite smart but Palace like to get the ball down and play, especially at home and I think that plays into our hands.

{Ed025's Note - you envy mid table teams?...what a crock!...my heart bleeds for you mate..

3.) 31 Mar 2018 10:30:24
I know where your coming from SS. In 13/ 14 I was so stressed at the business end of the season, I remember the Norwich game being a particular wreck whilst watching that! but that’s part and parcel of being a fan and it adds to the exitment when more is on the line.
I have the last 4/ 5 years got into watching NFL and it is nice to watch it having no emotional ties to a team and can watch it without the stress but I’ll never have the highs I get with watching Liverpool.

4.) 31 Mar 2018 15:20:50
I did say that in fact I don't envy them. I say "then I change my mind"

It is horrible dealing with the stress though. Gerrard slip effed me up, never gotten over it.

Just a quick question to the Ed's (Ed001 might be best suited) . what is the general consenses on Dominic Solanke, in training, with the manager and coaches etc? Cheers ij advance!

JoeyTheRed

{Ed001's Note - the general consensus is that he needs to learn from Ings example and just put a bit more effort in. He lacks the drive Ings has displayed, but other than that he is doing well. Just that Ings has come back and done better has meant he is missing out on chances he would have otherwise got.}

1.) 27 Mar 2018 14:52:49
Cheers Ed001! Big gan of him myself, think he has a big future, hopefully he has the right mentality and puts the head down now like you've said. Thanks again.

{Ed001's Note - the example players like Ings set is invaluable for a youngster. He is a real worker, desperate to make up for his time out the game and prove himself. Good player to have around youth players looking to break through.}

2.) 27 Mar 2018 15:09:26
Ya I wish Klopp would give him more gametime off the bench, instead of 10mimutes. Desperate for Ingsy to succeed.

3.) 27 Mar 2018 15:49:31
Unlucky for Ings that Firmino is so good. He deserved a goal in the 10 minutes he was on against Watford. I also hope he gets some more game time at some point, he works so hard and looks like he has some quality about him.

4.) 27 Mar 2018 17:32:56
What I have seen of Ings in the limited game time he has been given is enough for me to want him to stay. I think Bobby, Ings Solanke and Brewster are good enough options up top.

{Ed025's Note - your kidding yourself mate..

5.) 27 Mar 2018 17:43:48
I have to say Ed, that there isn't a player in world football right now who I'd like to see score a goal than Danny Ings. Nobody deserves it more for his work rate and desire.

6.) 28 Mar 2018 08:15:13
Hey Ed025, why is that? Not being argumentative but who could we bring in that is good better than what we have but happy to sit on the bench 90% of the time? Unless we replace Bobby or move him back into midfield, neither of which I can see who better than what we already have?

{Ed025's Note - who im not sure westwood, but the likes of ings and solanke will win you nothing mate and brewster although talented wont be ready for at least a couple of seasons, bobby is your best bet as he is quality and you need to add a proven goalscorer to fill in for injuries, it has to be someone proven at a high level who may be looking for a pay day and you will probably have to pay top dollar but it could make the difference..

Interesting comments from Jamie Carragher, regarding Van Djik needing to get fitter and maybe lose a bit of weight until we see the best of him. I think we'll have to wait to see the best from him, just recently coming back from a long injury and still trying to regain fitness. Eds do you have any idea what the overall consenses is on Van Djik, with his training etc. Appreaciate it eds.

JoeyTheRed

{Ed001's Note - Carragher knows full well that the reason van Dijk picked up the hamstring issues is due to the lack of fitness, which includes excess bodyfat as part of the problem. He is basically going through a pre-season programme to get up to fitness.}

1.) 02 Feb 2018 17:09:54
Thank you for the insight as always Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

2.) 02 Feb 2018 19:18:03
I stopped paying attention to what this poor excuse for a pundit has to say since the day he went after Karius cos he had the guts to challenge Carra's assessment. It seems he is just interested in stoking the flames of controversy and rancor within the fan base and the fact that as an ex player as Ed said, he knows better, makes it even worse.

James Ward Prowse. Think under right managment he could flourish into the player Saints fans are hoping to see. As you said, poor squad there at the moment, shame, I like them!

Hendo limped off the pitch after Potto, had a dead leg. I presume he wasn't fit enough to start yesterday because of it.
