Question for ed002 if that's OK? Is their any chance liverpool could sign Andre in this window or has that ship sailed? And any idea why we haven't withdrawn or offer for MC, surely were not still interested are we? Thanks in advance appreciate all you do.

Jimjim

{Ed002's Note - it is really too difficult for Andre now. Liverpool want to sign him still so it makes no sense to withdraw their bid.}

1.) 11 Aug 2023 17:47:35
Thanks for the reply really appreciate it! Wow I'm shocked were still trying to sign someone who doesn't want anything to do with us! Jurgen used to talk bout signing the right kind character for the club! Do you think Chelsea have to match the Liverpool offer or will 100 million be enough. Thanks again.

2.) 11 Aug 2023 20:11:40
@Jimjim, who has said Caicedo doesn't want anything to do with us? I've read that he has said he would like to join Chelsea this summer (Madrid longer term too) but I haven't read anything on his wanting nothing to do with us or any other club either.

3.) 11 Aug 2023 20:41:49
Sean the player has publicly embarrassed us to try force a move to another club after we bid to make him the most expensive player in British football history! Why would you offer him the chance to embarrass us again cus that's what he'll do wake up n move on pal.

{Ed025's Note - im with you JimJim, i would put in a revised take it or leave it offer of £5m, and offer him 10 bob a week wages...the cheeky so and so..

4.) 11 Aug 2023 21:55:50
@JimJim, I didn't say anything about offering Caicedo a chance to embarrass us again, they are your words. You said Caicedo doesn't want anything to do with us - I'm just asking has he actually said this because I haven't read that other than fans playing Chinese whispers.

08 Jun 2023 18:01:27
Question for ed02 but no problem if you don't wish to comment! I've seen you said on the utd page you think thuram will be heading somewhere else not utd! My question is would that club be liverpool. Thanks in advance I'm your biggest fan sir.

Jimjim

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation with Thurman.}

1.) 08 Jun 2023 18:34:20
OK appreciate the reply!
Thanks for all your hard work ?.

2.) 08 Jun 2023 18:48:48
For me he is my number 1 target out of those linked. Think he he will be special.

3.) 08 Jun 2023 18:43:57
He is near the top of our list JimJim as I understood Ed002 s note but other teams are interested. We probably have to watch out for psg in particular. There's a chance we get this guy but with the other interest out there we just got to wait a little bit and see how it unfolds.

4.) 08 Jun 2023 19:42:30
I think there is a few in for him OP and I’m not sure we have spoken to his club even tbh.

5.) 08 Jun 2023 20:06:56
Thuram is next on the agenda .

Thiago will surely leave next year if not this 1 and Henderson will be 33 start of this season and fabinho is as mobile as my Nan

On top of ox Milner and naby leaving

3 midfielders are needed whether that’s 3 this window or 2 and 1 next year but 3 are needed.

6.) 08 Jun 2023 20:07:14
I believe we need to see who is going to be sold before any imminent incoming. The HG ratio could be a problem again.

7.) 08 Jun 2023 20:31:55
Thurmans Dad was a brilliant player who else can remember him? I.

8.) 08 Jun 2023 20:38:27
I don’t understand how Fabinho is suddenly not good enough. He was the best DM in the league for more than 2 years now suddenly you want to give up on him?

All players have poor seasons but he has shown he is good enough in a CL and PL winning team. I have no doubt he will get back there again. Didn’t he have a child near the start of last season too? Personal circumstances do have an affect on performances you know.

9.) 08 Jun 2023 21:15:32
The great Lilian thuram
What a player he was ace was only young when he was in his prime but I remember watching him play and he was a standout I only remember him for juve but the guy was world class.

10.) 08 Jun 2023 21:18:08
Fair point becker about personal circumstances but he has been poor for 18 months although I will say he showed signs of his former self in our late rally this season so it’s possible but he is still definitely 1 player that can be upgraded in the team so a replacement/ understudy is needed.

11.) 08 Jun 2023 21:49:03
Unless those personal circumstances were that he was kidnapped and had bricks tied to his legs before every game it’s time for him to go. Amazes me he used to play RB. Has the turning circle of a lorry and when someone breaks past him he just cannot keep up. Good servant and player but time to be ruthless if we are serious about challenging again.

12.) 08 Jun 2023 22:56:53
Can't keep letting people leave on the free or when there's little sell value left because of terrible form.

We can't keep buying and losing players for free. The 4 players that just left, all went out for free as their contracts expired. Things need to be balanced between incomings and outgoings.

Fabinho would still have good sell value.

13.) 08 Jun 2023 23:06:34
Fabinho was poor thee 2nd half of 21/ 22 then 90% of last season. Its not about "giving up" its about refreshing and getting someone new. Its like saying we shouldt have given up on Lucas and not got Fab to begin with. can't keep lads forever especially when they're not performing. We're miles off City need to make big big changes and he's one of them.

14.) 09 Jun 2023 16:17:41
Prior to his Juve move Lilian Thuram played in an amazing Parma team along with Cannavaro, Chiesa, Buffon and Crespo i think it was plus a couple of other big names i forget now.

I think it was all under the Sven Goran Erikson also if my memory serves correct.

Thuram was an incredible player and check out what he's done after football if you don't know - he's quite the human being.

What an inspiration the fella is.

03 Jun 2022 23:54:51
Take this as you will but I heard klopp is talking to Isco not sure I believe it but I believe the sourse.

Jimjim

1.) 04 Jun 2022 02:01:23
Nice rumour - did your source say what they were talking about?

2.) 04 Jun 2022 02:58:21
Keyser Sourse?

3.) 04 Jun 2022 09:09:55
Is this for the opening in the IT department?

4.) 04 Jun 2022 09:32:04
"DERBY Day Today boys, put ye scarves away the horse racing not the football!

5.) 04 Jun 2022 10:30:56
Does his wife know? 😱.

6.) 04 Jun 2022 20:44:27
Jurgen actually said to the players after the open top bus parade had finished and they had all moved on to a night club that,

"He was going after the "d-ISCO" was finished!

We're really gona miss Hendo, he's the conductor to our orchestra n he's set the standard the manager demands. Don't forget when we went close under brendan everyone remembers the Gerrard slip but Jordan was missing for those last 3 games. Maybe wouldn't have made a difference but.
I can't think of a footballer who turned his club career around more than him, from getting booed off to the club trying to sell n end up a hero! Can anyone think of a bigger turn around?

Jimjim

{Ed025's Note - yeah jim, when hendo said he cared about human rights mate.. :)

1.) 19 Jul 2023 20:31:22
He’s 33 let him go he’s been top class for us he deserves him pay and leaves a legend!
No stop the sentimental carry it’s that very reason we are in this state and needing a rebuild!

2.) 19 Jul 2023 20:34:34
I can’t believe Hendo got himself in great shape for a move to Saudi.

3.) 19 Jul 2023 20:45:23
The Saudis were hugely involved in 9/ 11 yet that hasn't stopped America from taking their cash, including Donald trumps son in law who was giving a 2 billion investment sum! N yet you expect a footballer to be the standard barer of decency ahead of the president of America not to mention every other government their flooding with cash! Wake up n open your eyes.

4.) 19 Jul 2023 20:48:39
Got to agree with Ed025 here.

5.) 19 Jul 2023 20:49:38
The Liverpool captain disappearing off to Saudi, can't believe it.

6.) 19 Jul 2023 20:53:47
I’m pretty sure quite a lot of us have, for example, worn sports apparel made by poor souls working in slave labour conditions. To a greater or lesser degree, we all knowingly or otherwise turn a blind eye most of the time. As I keep saying I think I have a conscience but I’d take £700k a week. Collectively people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones, imho.

{Ed025's Note - even if you already had £23M in the bank WDW?, then shame on you mate..

7.) 19 Jul 2023 21:12:46
Yup. In three years that 23 turns to 123. Bit hard to say no to.

8.) 19 Jul 2023 21:16:31
I think the truth is if this was Naby, Matip and Jota taking big wages in Saudi over Hendo, Bobby and Fab then the narrative would be 100% different.

The same as how Ronaldo was perceived when he was the first to jump ship.

People can still love Hendo for what he’s done for the club and still criticise this particular decision.

For me he’s chosen what is best for him financially and has probably put his England career and last few seasons of his career at risk of going into the wilderness.

If someone had claimed they had inside knowledge of Hendo going to Saudi 5 months ago they would have been ridiculed off here and called a troll.

I don’t think badly of him and wish him all the best but I also won’t kid myself and try and argue that he’s not going there purely for money and goes again y everything he has said out loudly for years.

Would I go to Saudi for massive money. Of course I would but at the same time I don’t wear rainbow coloured arm bands and laces or speak to media about human rights in these countries.

Hendo has created this pushback with his prior actions but as per everything it’ll soon be forgetter about and people will move on to something else.

9.) 19 Jul 2023 21:18:32
Disgusted. Sod him.

New profile pic in order once I'm back from holiday.

10.) 19 Jul 2023 21:09:35
Usually ed25 i agree with you, but he can secure financially the future generations .
of his immediate family and some. He may even give sone to charity also. Yes the country has poor human rights records, but so do so many that we conveniently take a blind eye to.

{Ed025's Note - if he was an average earner john i could see why you would say that mate, but the guy was earning £7M a year at liverpool and has a net wealth of £23M, that is enough to secure the future for the next 10 generations, now if he was not a guy who had spoken out about the horrific human rights issues in the region and the LFC figurehead for the LGTB+ community then maybe you could have a case, listen this is my last words on it as im not his judge, time to move on..

11.) 19 Jul 2023 21:10:59
Ed 25 disappointed you didn't rely to my reply seein has your the standard every human being should aspire to be n you get to look down your nose at good people.

{Ed025's Note - it was posted by another ED jim, i dont pretend to be a saint mate..far from it, but i do have a conscience if thats what you mean?, anyway its done now so no use crying over spilt milk..

12.) 19 Jul 2023 21:11:04
Forgetting about replacing Hendo, or if in fact he should’ve moved in the first place
I just want to say, what a f*****g Captain! He might’ve slowed down a lot because we didn’t sign anyone to share the load.
But that man was an absolute machine in our midfield. Thank you Jordan. Wish he could’ve had a send off like Bobby. The Hendo shuffle will live forever YNWA.

{Ed025's Note - excellent captain i must say LFC8..

13.) 19 Jul 2023 21:21:48
Ed most of Evertons players, the stadium and the liver building where bought with russian money, didn't hear you complaining about that, the lbqt thing is a load of nonsense anyway and just more divide and conquer tactics if you read between the lines. Did Henderson or any other professional really give a toss about lbqt rights in Saudi? I doubt it there's a lot worse going on.

{Ed025's Note - as i say time to put this to bed mate..

14.) 19 Jul 2023 21:48:00
I think you misunderstand the disappointment of maybe old skool Reds, JK23.
From a time when our manager was a self-proclaimed socialist, Kevin Keegan was given grief for chasing the money in Germany and politics was an everyday reality in the 80s.
That spirit is still present as you will know.
It started to go pear shaped in the 90s with a bunch of yuppies in red shirts and white suits.
I thought Klopp had got that spirit back, and Hendo seemed to embody that old skool Liverpool mentality.
Agree with Ed025, how rich do you need to get?
Does Robbie Fowler still have his property portfolio?
I don't know, feel let down to be honest.

15.) 19 Jul 2023 21:45:28
I really hope the energy, fuel and supermarket companies etc put their prices up again to secure their families future generations.

16.) 19 Jul 2023 21:44:56
Great captain very disappointed in his decision. Have to agree with 025.

17.) 19 Jul 2023 22:02:42
Juicer great reply mate. I feel just as disappointed as them mate.

18.) 19 Jul 2023 22:06:26
No one ever says we’ll miss what Henderson offered in the pitch.

19.) 19 Jul 2023 21:58:12
Hey Ed25 I your biggest fan n I'm sorry if I didn't sound like it I really appreciate all your Inmput n hard work but we're all part of the same bull we look down our noses at people n then we do exactly what Rupert murdock tells us I just hate people looking down their nose at good people n Jordan Henderson is good people.

{Ed025's Note - thats why its best put to bed now jim mate..

20.) 19 Jul 2023 22:28:13
Hendo served the club with distinction, never let the club down, always gave back to the fans, won the lot as captain and leaves a legend in my eyes.

Once he leaves Liverpool he might as well be playing on Mars, I don’t care what he does within the letter of the law.

21.) 19 Jul 2023 22:39:02
We all want to do better, earn more, look after our kids / the future etc. I don't really care whether you're on minimum wage or a pro footballer, the principle by and large remains the same to do better and look after your family.

Good on him I say.

22.) 19 Jul 2023 22:59:35
It's better to be at the coalface to change people's minds about LGBTQ+ issues no?

23.) 19 Jul 2023 23:05:28
We live in a country with a billionaire prime minister an a former prime minister who openly flouted the rules during a C.V. and has gone on to earn millions from 'speaking' seminars whilst having his rent paid by a billionaire CEO.
Maybe everyone should cast their eyes closer to home.

24.) 20 Jul 2023 06:52:46
Britain isn't exactly famous for its human rights either.

25.) 20 Jul 2023 07:27:42
Just a point to add, How do we know that Hendo wasn’t obligated to wear rainbow laces. The England Manager was more interested in politics than trying to win a WC, as Hendo was involved with the England set up, maybe he had to place that stuff on his social media?

Good luck to Hendo, thanks for being a great Captain, we now have a really exciting season ahead with a rebuild that everyone wanted.

01 Dec 2022 21:15:32
With liverpool for sale would klopp take the Germany job if offered? I really hope not.

Jimjim

1.) 01 Dec 2022 21:41:02
Don't think Klopp is looking to leave LFC anytime soon neither international football is that appealing especially for a manager who want to be involved in a dug out week in week out.

04 Jun 2022 18:54:52
Watching the England game I don't see the hype bout Bellingham he's no Steven Gerrard that's for sure which I was led to believe he was reading on here.

Jimjim

1.) 04 Jun 2022 21:05:09
He's 19 and after 20 minutes he was spent. Maybe the humidity played a part plus its end of season.

2.) 04 Jun 2022 21:47:20
He was playing for England who are the equivalent of Man Utd on the international scene it is hard for anyone to look good playing for them. Anyway he is still young and will need coaching Klopp and Liverpool would be a perfect fit.

3.) 04 Jun 2022 23:12:19
it's international footy which is not compatible in the least.

4.) 05 Jun 2022 00:11:36
The manager is clueless, the football is insipid and a fair percentage of the squad shouldn’t be anywhere near an international squad worth the name. Add to that they are all at the end of a very long season and you can’t really expect anybody to play well really.

5.) 05 Jun 2022 00:34:07
He really isn’t all that. His reading of the game and positional sense are non existent. He’s ok going forward but doesn’t do enough defensively. Will be a very big waste of money for whoever is fool enough to waste £100m+ on him. Thankfully that price rules us out of it.

Tchouameni and Camavinga are miles ahead of him and always will be, sadly for England.

6.) 05 Jun 2022 01:44:23
What I don’t understand is why Southgate has England playing a back 5 (despite its relative success in the euros) against a 40th ranked team. Esp when none of the back 5 ever play in that system except maybe coady? Ed001? Any insight as to why an international manager would play a system that the players generally never play during the normal season?

{Ed001's Note - because he is clueless.}

7.) 05 Jun 2022 03:27:11
Gareth Southgate is a buffoon. England are a joke and always will be.

8.) 05 Jun 2022 03:53:15
Will only Be one stevie g! End of!

9.) 05 Jun 2022 08:47:56
What were the combined value of the English team compared to Hungary. Quite a few of those English players are either valued or have been sold for 80 -100 mill.

Maguire, Rice, Grealish, Kane, Bellingham, Trent, Mount and James etc.

Southgate is beyond useless but without him these players should still be able to be beat a part time team.

10.) 05 Jun 2022 09:05:32
Players regardless of their price tags when coached properly can beat teams valued at a much higher price. Well said JK23.

11.) 05 Jun 2022 09:55:40
Southgate somehow makes foden look poor that takes some doing.

{Ed001's Note - why so? What is so special about him? The way people talk about him is like he is Maradona improved when so far he has shown nothing special to deserve the hype.}

12.) 05 Jun 2022 10:02:59
In fairness Victor the same things were being said about Tchounaemi on here when a few had a look at his club game. Said his passes were poor etc. He has 3 years on Bellingham and still isn't the finished article. Me personally i think if we got Bellingham for £100m next summer it would be a very good signing for the club. I reckon Jurgen would be willing to wait for that season.

13.) 05 Jun 2022 10:36:06
I don't think England are the equivalent of Man Utd on the international stage at all. Like it or not, this England team under Southgate has got to the WC semi final and the Euros Final. Considerably better than a plethora of England managers before him. I appreciate he is massively disliked on these pages but the facts remain that he has done what no other manager could do since 1968 and got England to a final.

{Ed001's Note - in the weakest ever international tournaments. He is disliked because he is crap and should never be near a top job.}

14.) 05 Jun 2022 10:40:04
The club won't be splashing out £100 million on Bellingham.
Just a fan's wet dream that one.

15.) 05 Jun 2022 11:17:55
Why not? £75m on VVD cos Jurgen knew he'd be the best around for years. £67 on Allison cos jurgen knew he'd be the best around for years. If Jurgen thinks the same about Bellingham and wants him he will be backed. And if he was right again as he usually is it would be a bargain.

16.) 05 Jun 2022 12:17:59
Increasingly Southgate sounds like he is auditioning for a political career. I’m willing to bet that he will be head of the FA in about 20 years time.

He was an average player and he is a below average manager. he has never won anything as a manager - despite, as has been said, competing in poor quality international tournaments.

As an aside, the idea that United paid all that money for Maguire and City the money for Grealish still makes me laugh.

17.) 05 Jun 2022 14:17:20
Ed001 you said a while ago foden was along the lines of a very good player and he's only 21 I think. I don't think he's special myself but he could turn into a great player. I gave my doubts though with his off field behaviour.

{Ed001's Note - a very good player is not great or special though.}

18.) 05 Jun 2022 14:35:56
Ed I'm going to disagree with you slightly on Southgate. I think he'd be the perfect manager for Everton or Man U 😊.

19.) 05 Jun 2022 14:47:16
WDW I have to disagree mate.

I can’t believe you think Southgate was an average player.

No way was he that good 🤣.

20.) 05 Jun 2022 16:44:30
I stopped caring about Southgate the moment he pulled that disgraceful stunt on Trent in that press conference last season after he was dropped for an England game. The guy is as incompetent as they come BUT cos he is part of the establishment, he is protected.

21 Feb 2021 15:54:59
Question for Ed 2 please I'm just wondering in your opinion how bad it would be for Liverpool to miss out on champions league next season and how it affects recruitment in the summer? Thanks in advance.

Jimjim

{Ed002's Note - There is a financial impact but I doubt it would impact recruitment particularly.}

20 Sep 2020 18:33:27
Lads what a team we have milk it in big time! I know they were down to 10 men but we are a proper team n how silky is theiago! No wonder we wanted to join us but man of the match has to be firmino even above mane! No better team in Europe in my opinion 👍.
