If Jurgen Klopps facebook page is any indicator it looks likely that Jonas Hector is on his way to LFC for GBP12m!

What did it say then JCollver?

7.) 05 Jun 2016 09:23:06
Klopp doesn't do Facebook, so don't get excited lads.

It is silly season, one so called news outlet linked us with Gibbs from Arsenal, which would be a serious downgrade from Moreno. At the end of the day as long as we avoid the likes of Gibbs, any Southampton players, Vardy, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Yarmelenko then it's a half decent summer.

Maybe that was Jayden Kloops twitter account? He is in the know about all to do with Accrington Stanley! Who are they?

Hi Eds

Would love your feedback on this. I've seen a lot of banter about big name transfers, however judging by Klopps previous record at BVB he didn't really make big name signings, rather went for relatively unknown players and turned them into superstars i. e. Lewandowski, Hummels, Reus, Gotze, Gundogan, Aubemayang etc.

What do you think of these potential signings this summer?
GK: Timo Horn
LB: Jonas Hector
CB: Nevan Subotic (I think Klopp will want to bring in someone who he knows can sure up our back line and play the Geggenpress)
Forward: Kevin Volland

The only other signings I can see are for outgoing players i. e. if we offloaded Joe Allen or Hendo I could see a move for a young central midfield option: Ruben Neves, Sergi Samper, or Youri Tielemans, each of whom I believe would be ideal partnering with Emre Can's physical ability in the middle of the park.

In terms of Mario Gotze I only think this will happen if Tottenham stump up for Lallana with Gotze being viewed as an upgrade.

{Ed001's Note - I really am not sure we need that many unless we offload a lot. The squad is bloated as it is. I would not have any issue with those players, but I expect Klopp to look at some areas outside of Germany to buy from, somewhere that provides better value.

You do realise some of those players are pretty popular and quite far from 'unknown' players.

We've already signed Joel Matip and Grujic, so centre back and centre midfielder. I can't see us seeing many more players, maybe two more maximum .
Signing too many players is disruptive, unless you are Barry Fry!

What do you think?

Karius, costa (villa), alonso (if still leaving Bayern)

Stick with the rest for a year, still off loading a few.

Migs, skr, ibe, hallo, Alberto, ilori.

If football manager is anything to go by those two would be world class in about 2-3 seasons. imagine a midfield of Can, Goretzka, Couthino, Firmino and Mayer. Would seriously compete with when we had Xabi Alonso, Momo Sissoko, Gerrard and Mascherano.

I would rather we sign Gotze. I think everyone is easily getting on the back of Henderson, he has the potential to be a real player as he has already shown. Henderson, Can, Couthino, Firmino and Gotze with Sturridge up front is a pretty fearsome strike force with lots of goals. Clyne-Sakho-Matip-LB? with Karius as GK = We have a pretty good 1st XI.

Remember when we signed Xabi Alonso for GBP10m. look at what he turned out to be. Don't let the size of the transfer fee be the only thing to dictate your opinion of the player.

C'mon lads. why all the doom and gloom? Look at what Klopp has achieved in 6 months with Rodgers team which were struggling. under Klopp 2 cup finals! Imagine what Klopp can achieve with HIS players who suit HIS style of play.

As far as new signings are concerned. lads we signed MATIP on a FREE! He was named in the bundesliga team of the year i. e. he was either the 1st or 2nd best centre back in the Bundesliga last season! Arguably one of the best young CBs in the world.

Grujic looks absolutely class as well. and for a pittance we signed him!

Klarius was also named the 2nd best GK in the bundesliga last season, second only to the BEST GK IN THE WORLD (Nuer) . and we got him again for a pittance.

Everyone knows what we needed i. e. New GK -Done, New CB - Done, New CM - Done. New LB on the cards. All other positions are pretty well sorted and I can only see us really pushing for players if we sell players i. e. upgrading.

Don't forget last season Klopp was without Sturridge, Gomez, Ings, Origi, Can, and Henderson for long periods. As well he had Benteke who he obviously did not rate at all. If you can't tell by our new signings Klopp is obviously buying younger players who he can mould into his footballing system i. e. remember when he signed he said 'I think we can win the EPL in 4 seasons'. As previously stated Klopp has never really bought big names, rather players who he knew he could get the best out of and would perform well in his system. Just wait and see what these guys can do.

We don't need Gotze. I would rather us buy Ante Coric who is younger with more to prove.

In regards to Kevin Volland.

I think Volland is exactly the type of player Klopp is looking for i. e. If a young Dirk Kuyt was still in our team he would be a key player for Klopp and Volland is in a similar vein, however with a bit more in his locker than Kuyt had in terms of technical ability and speed.

As evidenced by Klopp playing Firmino as a false 9 away against Villarreal and at several other times, it would appear that depending on opposition Klopp likes to use a defensive forward or false 9 option, Volland would suit this position very well. As previously stated Volland can also play on either wing making him very adaptable just like Kuyt. I think Volland would be primarily used as a false 9 striker in away fixtures against low-mid table opponents where we have struggled this season, with Sturridge primarily being saved for the bigger games, Europe (if we make UCL) and at home, or coming off the bench as an impact player against weaker teams if needed. If Sturridge is not satisfied with this role then I think Klopp will look to move him on and don't be surprised if a bid for Gonzalo Higuain was put forward if we make the UCL. Otherwise Klopp might plump for Alexandre Lacazette to fill the void.

In terms of our forward options Volland would complement what we currently have and no doubt we will offload Benteke for about GBP25m which is close to what Hoffenheim will probably ask for. Volland also was very well suited playing with Firmino at Hoffenheim and it would be great to see that partnership flourish again at Anfield.

If we went into next season with Sturridge, Origi, Volland, and Ings as our strikers we would not struggle for goals.
