Hi just a quick question for the eds and I appreciate it's probably been addressed before but what is your opinion on Liverpool's goalkeeping coach.

Iloveliverpoolnomatterwhat

{Ed002's Note - I don't know him, don't recall ever meeting him and have never attended one of his coaching sessions. As such, I don't have any opibiob about him at all.}

1.) 21 Jan 2018 21:06:30
Yes Ed, but it's good to have an opibiob about something. Love opibiobs. Other than covfefes, opibiobs must be my favourite thing! :)

Hi eds

In your opinion, would Gomez be able to offer more as a centre half currently than lovren or klav, or would it be considered to early to throw him in as a regular starter. Looked composed and comfortable when he's played.
Also would love to see ward feature at some point ahead of the other two, is it just he's not seen as good enough yet?

Appreciate the hard work and thanks in advance.

Iloveliverpoolnomatterwhat

{Ed001's Note - in my opinion, as I said before the season started, Gomez would no doubt make some mistakes, as do they, but at least he has recovery pace to make up for some of them. I would pick him over any of our current centre halfs personally.

I really do not know what Klopp is thinking with regard keepers. I know Mignolet was dropped as a punishment, but now he has punished Karius and Ward by bringing Mignolet back. There is certainly no one who thinks he is not good enough compared to the other two.}

1.) 10 Sep 2017 05:16:18
Ed, apologies if this has been covered, but what are you referring to when you say 'punishment'? Poor performances or perhaps something else?

{Ed001's Note - something else.}

2.) 10 Sep 2017 05:39:13
I heard he had been out drinking (or something to that effect) and was dropped as a result. He should've been dropped on form alone he has been woeful so far.

Just a quick question eds, i understand emre can is probable to leave but is it possible still that keita will displace Henderson rather the can, if cans performances continue to be steller. Just think in my opinion can could be a far better player than Henderson, but what would I know.

Cheers lads.

Iloveliverpoolnomatterwhat

{Ed001's Note - I am sorry but this does not make any sense. You want to replace Henderson because Can will be better, and not replace Can, who you expect to leave anyway. Did you really think this through before posting?}

1.) 05 Sep 2017 13:36:22
He's asking in your opinion could Can not dislodge Henderson if he in fact signed a new contract and played with Keita next season. Yes he could in my opinion, we'll really miss a beat if we let Can go I feel. Always liked him, could be world class.
He's perfect for CM/ DM role, he can even cover CB if we had a lot of injuries.

{Ed001's Note - but why ask when he is saying that Can is going anyway, so he knows the answer is that it is not going to happen?}

2.) 05 Sep 2017 13:38:04
Just to add sorry, I think all 3 could play in a 3 man midfield quite easily once Coutinho moves next season. If we make the CL, there'll be plenty of matches for everyone - Klopp will rotate.

3.) 05 Sep 2017 13:39:05
Yeah but Ed001, Can is German and Henderson is English. You know English players can't play kickball.

{Ed001's Note - ah yes of course.}

4.) 05 Sep 2017 13:39:52
Ed I think the crux of his post makes sense. What he's saying is, as of now, it looks probable that Can will leave, but is there any possibility that circumstances change whereby Can stays and Keita replaces Hendo instead.

{Ed001's Note - again that makes no sense when Hendo and Keita play different roles and positions.}

5.) 05 Sep 2017 13:44:48
Any truth in the MU and Chelsea interest in Emre Can Ed001? Or just mischiev making?

{Ed001's Note - the only interest I know of, other than the long standing Bayern Munich one, is Juventus and I expect him to go there to be honest.}

6.) 05 Sep 2017 13:48:15
I think he wants to keep Can at the club and play him regularly over Hendo alongside Kieta. A midfield of Can and Kieta would be pretty impressive.

7.) 05 Sep 2017 14:23:37
Hi Ed001,

Realistically do you think there is a chance Can might stay, or has that ship sailed so to speak?

I will be gutted if he goes, as I think he is developing into a real quality midfielder.

Thanks for all your insights as ever!

KF.

{Ed001's Note - there is always a chance but it is unlikely. He was keen to leave for Juve in the summer but we rejected their bid. I believe he has made his mind up to leave. There are still a few months left to persuade him though.}

8.) 05 Sep 2017 14:34:21
Let it go, Harry. We get it. You dislike Hendo.

9.) 05 Sep 2017 14:46:45
Cmon MK. Not every English players are terrible. Only 95% mate 😄😄.

10.) 05 Sep 2017 14:50:09
All last season supporters were calling can rubish and now he's all of a sudden sliced bread God you lot are so fickle he's served his contract and obviously wants to leave let it go support our skipper who is coming into form.

11.) 05 Sep 2017 15:18:56
Henderson is going nowhere. He has recovered from his injuries and is already back to a very impressive level of performance.

It's easy to forget that last season was his first ever in the lone holding role. His development there was blighted by injury as well. By the end of this season he will have it nailed and be one of the best holding midfielders in Europe.

I'll eat my shirt if i'm wrong and post it in the sightings page.

12.) 05 Sep 2017 15:22:13
Harry we all know you only like Can because he is your baby faced German playmaker 😉.

13.) 05 Sep 2017 15:52:56
Well not really. I wasn't sold on Can as he was all tank than anything else. But he is proving me wrong as he now think before making a pass. Juve has been tracking him from some time and after loosing Pogba they did not replace him yet. Can will be that player. My inner thoughts pointing to that ugly truth that he will boss in coming years.

Can still has issues especially discipline to play the holding role but what makes him a different is his ability to burst past players like they just stood still. Can has a good touch like most Germans. Good on the ball and it's not easy to knock of tr ball from him. I am liking him purely on his quality mate. I have no preferences over nationalities. One of my best Crush is playing for Napoli 😄.

But then for all those who constantly rumble on " future looking bright over here " forgets Can is the future that you are happily allowing him to leave!

Mark my words Can will boss against City. It's shame we spend some much time and effort on him and the patience we showed to make him the player he is slowly turning out to be and guess what Juventus will have his best years!

Can - Pjanic will probably will boss Seria A!

14.) 05 Sep 2017 17:08:35
I have to admit i am gutted Can is most likely leaving. I just hope Keita is worth it!

15.) 05 Sep 2017 20:40:43
MK, Keita is definitely worth waiting for. The lad is a genuine talent and it's a proper coup signing him.

Hi eds what gave you made of salahs start to. his liverpool career, thought he gave the ball away cheaply at times but his pace is devastating.

Cheerw.

Iloveliverpoolnomatterwhat

{Ed001's Note - that is exactly how I see it. He needs to get his confidence up a bit by knocking a few more goals in and then he will be flying I hope.}

1.) 24 Aug 2017 12:11:28
His right foot is non existent and that worries me a little. He waits precious moments shifting the ball onto his left. Also he does seem to be lacking a bit in match sharpness which will no doubt improve as the season progresses.
But there is no doubt we are getting good value for money in Salah. 40 million pounds in today's market is cheap change for a goal scoring wide player.

2.) 24 Aug 2017 12:24:02
He is a decent winger who relies on pace and space! He is nothing like Mane who tricks players with his movement as well! Don't shoot me down! I have seen him play a lot at Roma and I know what are his attributes. He also has a very poor first touch!

3.) 24 Aug 2017 12:24:02

4.) 24 Aug 2017 13:04:57
He doesn't have a poor first touch at all. Yes, he is a bit one footed, bur that's all I will give you there. Quality player, quick footed and quick minded.

5.) 24 Aug 2017 13:13:48
Salah is exactly what we needed, IMO and he is showing it. His ability to pass and move, while in stride is amazing coupled with the fact that he is a poacher in the box which is rare for a wide forward. he is still new to the PL right now so I expect him to improve (esp. his first touch) cos he has a fantastic attitude and eagerness to be great.

6.) 24 Aug 2017 13:30:18
I think his first touch has been excellent so far, watching him last night and the ball seemed to stick to him like glue.

7.) 24 Aug 2017 13:32:21
Poor first touch? Pretty sure I saw him take a goal kick down with a sublime touch in the first half, world class level skill.

8.) 24 Aug 2017 13:58:04
Great pace, effective taking on players when there's space to run into (less effective in the tight spaces), perhaps a bit one footed, but has a decent finish.

The most impressive thing I've noticed about him is he follows in every shot. A lot of wingers won't but he puts himself in a lot of positions to score off rebounds, 50/ 50 crosses or GK saves that might spill. I think he'll pick up a lot of his goals like that this year (like when he bundled in Manes chip that was going just wide) . He's a bit of a poacher and that's a pleasant surprise for me.

9.) 24 Aug 2017 15:31:52
He makes good runs I think if Phil stays he will pick him out a lot. I also like how he seems to pop up in the around the 6 yard box looking for scraps it's something we've been missing.

10.) 24 Aug 2017 15:33:51
It's less about pace. It's his positional sense.

He will bang 15 in this season no worries.

Manes mane as you said

Firmino when teams play open is the best in the world for me at doing what he did last night. Unfortunately as has been shown over a number of seasons, teams just defend against us for fear of what we did to hoff last night. That's why firmino is useless as all his super qualities go when there s no space. For that reason I'm predicting 12 for him and 15 assists, as the big sides will feel firmino rath. Still a good return for a n7nber ten playing up top but not for Liverpool football clubs striker.

11.) 24 Aug 2017 15:44:57
Maradona was very one footed!

12.) 24 Aug 2017 22:26:03
JW, one of the most one footed players I have ever seen.

Hi eds

I was wondering the other day about the last manager to win things at liverpool was kenny daglish. How did you rate his tenure, and could he have possibly created a very competetive team for domestic and european honours.

Cheers in advance.

Iloveliverpoolnomatterwhat

{Ed001's Note - very difficult to say, it was a bit of a mess in his time. He did well to win a trophy, but he made a mistake in supporting Suarez. One thing is for sure, he deserved better than the way he was treated by the club and fans. The man is a legend and should have been given as long as he needed.}

1.) 17 Aug 2017 14:05:51
Spot on Ed001.I agree KD should have been given more time. It's one of my regrets as a lifelong supporter with a great respect for King Kenny.

{Ed001's Note - I never agreed with him getting the role in the first place mate. Modern fans do not deserve him. They turned on him. On Dalglish! I mean how can they turn on a man who has done so much for Liverpool fans??}

2.) 17 Aug 2017 14:35:59
I'll never forget or forgive that look of disdain from JW Hendry towards the King on the Wembley steps. This is the King he helped brighten up all of our lives and took on the grief in our darkest hour. Legend is a word that gets bandied about so easily in these fickle times . King Kenny will always be a hero and legend to me.

3.) 17 Aug 2017 14:46:17
Personally was of the opinion he never should have got the job as bar winning the league his reputation was going to be tarnished but he stepped in to help us out as far as I'm aware? Either way legend and king!

4.) 17 Aug 2017 16:09:01
nah, i didn't want him either, but he did pretty well i thought, if i remember his full season back in charge, we hit the woodwork like 30 times? if they went in, different story! anyway, he is a Legend and used to be a hero of mine. Back when i still believed in them!

Not sure how badly Suarez game has been affected but would it not be possible for him to excel in a deeper creative role possibly filling the coutinho void?

According to edoo1 mate, it's the players inability to reproduce what they achieve in training on match days. They apparently loose there heads in competetive games.

Hope that helps x.
