Waro,

Read your post further down the page - do you seriously believe Steven Gerrard is a 'world class' player (as you stated) now in 2013?

You are often the guy who rubbishes all the shoddy posts on here so I was surprised to read that garbage from you TBH.

HoneyBadger

1.) Let's leave captain fantastic alone. Yes he is still world class, still dictates the play for club and country and still vitally important to both. No player is undroppable but he don't deserve to be dropped. Didn't read waros post so can't comment on that but Stevie for me still first name on the team sheet. Absolute class act

2.) Rubbish. Gerrard was the poorest player in a red shirt yesterday. People are picking on Aspas, Sakho, Enrique etc as they are the easy targets. While these players might well not be playing well, it's amazing how many times the fan favorites are omitted from criticism. Agger and Gerrard were particularly poor yesterday.

The Manager needs to be able to let these senior players know when their standards are slipping and should have the guts to drop them if required.

3.) Agree with AG there

4.) Let me first say that know body is above criticism regardless of status, Stevie was poor yesterday but to put all of the teams issues on him is wrong, I always thought he would be great in that holding role and obviously so does Rodgers, but I feel it stifles him and takes something away from his game, so I may have got that one wrong.

Gerrard is the best midfielder we have and age and playing in the wrong position is maybe effecting his influence on the game, the manager got it totally wrong yesterday, I couldn't believe the team sheet when I saw it, what he was trying to do is beyond me, having said that we still should have had enough to win that game, but let's be honest here, that result has been coming.

There were a few on here telling me I should be eating humble pie during the international break because we had won 3 games, think my reply was come and speak to me at Christmas and we'll see whose eating what then, I've seen these false dawns countless times and I hope yesterday was a wake up call to the boasters. KEEP YOUR MOUTHS SHUT UNTIL there's SOMETHING WORTH SHOUTING ABOUT!

p.s. Someone down the page said drop Stevie for Allen, Jesus some people are clueless

p.p.s. Still think we don't need Suarez everyone? Give yourselves a pat on the back if you do

5.) So as he had a poor game let's drop him, not one player turned up yesterday so why jump on Gerrard. By your rationale we would have 11 different players next time out. I never said he was undroppable, read what I said but he certainly doesn't deserve to be out the team yet, and I maintain, world class, first name on the team sheet.

6.) Gerrard is a match-winner. But for a superb save he would have scored a great free-kick yesterday which was virtually the only real threat on goal we had.
Enrique and Aspas are not match winners. They do not have the track record Gerrard has. He has earned his right for leniency, the others haven't.

7.) You're dead on with the Suarez thing Waro.
Wether he comes in behind Sturridge, or replaces him to give him a break, or even out wide, he's a must on the team sheet. Particularly with Coutinho out.

8.) FowlerisGod and Ken Aguero:

Gerrard has been poor in the last 2 games, after the international break.

My point was aimed at dropping players based on form, regardless of their once attained stature with fans. You are the one who needs to read the post.

The Juiver and Waro:

I am unsure about the mentality of Suarez. Will he harass and press and want to win with this team anymore?

9.) Hi AG,

So presumably you're going to drop the whole of yesterday's team except the keeper?
Or can you name one of our players who was in form yesterday?

You can't drop all the players and none of them played well yesterday.

Are you going to pick Allen and bring Borini and Suso back?

10.) Hi Ken,

Toure and Skrtel were good yesterday and I thought it was hugely unfair on Skrtel when BR took him off.

No, just drop the guy who has been knackered and playing quite poorly. If you can't spot the man, it is Gerrard.

Actually, I think Suso and Borini need the loans while Allen is presumably, not fit enough. I am of the opinion these younger guys will be excellent players for us, in the near future, while Gerrard would be retired.

11.) Why jump on stevies head. Bar yesterday he has done well, no one played well yesterday yet for some reason you have ago at him. I'm not saying he undroppable but really after one or two games. He prob does need a rest and wed is perfect for that. He remains behind everything good that side does. I think some people just like the controversy. Not forgetting his inspiration on the pitch. Legend

12.) I don't know why everybody is pinpointing such and player, for me the whole team bar Mignolet was off yesterday and the manager was worst with his tactics.

Waro becoming Lfc number 1 fan boy after all the crap he's given other posters. But that's OK because he rates Klopp better than Rodgers - that's how support works people! How long til he turns on the club and owners again?

And Ron being outraged at silly opinions being stated as fact when he states that lfc WILL win every game and end up as champions! You crossed your own line, it seems.

Priceless thread 😆.

"I can only think of around 3 top level CB's in the whole league right now" this is a very subjective turn of phrase so it will depend on your definition of top level, clearly.

Terry, Kos, possibly Cahill, possibly Kompany (he's been poor for a while now mind) were the fellas I had I mind.

Why would you lump Lovren and Sakho in with that lot? That amuses me and illustrates your bias, no end.

Sakho struggles to even make the lfc team, he's got talent but he's very raw still and likes to let the ball slip off his head, which is quite a unique skill, but not ideal. Lovren - I don't think any further explanation is needed - he is Lovren. You may recall he was a figure of ridicule last year for being such a poor defender.

Vertonghen and Mertesacker are both limited defensively, in my book they are not top level Epl CB's - far from it. Why do none of the big clubs go after Vertonghen I wonder? And why do most gooners want Mert replaced?

Fonte looks good on Motd but then so did Lovren (less said the better), so I'm not going to label him a top CB until he's proven himself elsewhere.

Other than that I agree with your assessment of top level CB's 😲
