Hi Eds, with the ongoing injury problems of Henderson with his plantar fasciitis, which is a condition that is hard to treat. Has the club started to contemplate alternatives to him? The guy is a great player, but these ongoing injuries have to be a concern. Thanks.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - The club has no intention of selling Henderson.}

1.) 28 Feb 2017 15:06:11
On the plantar faciitis note, I recently stumbled upon shoe inserts which are relatively new in the market. Basically pressure sensors take identify the side of the foot/ heel you favor and make sure there is added material in the region to support the affected area and relieve the pain. I am sure the club is aware of the latest and greatest but ED01 if you can ask around if that has been used for Hendo?

{Ed001's Note - they have the stride pattern etc all measured up whenever they get new boots.}

2.) 28 Feb 2017 16:54:04
Henderson has played all year or am i missing somethint? One injiry in 12 months and what that's it. Good god.

Long live the captain ay.

3.) 28 Feb 2017 17:41:48
Supermane96, FYI he has a problem with his foot, as referred to above, which is only treatable not curable. Hence, as important as he is to the team (massively, probably our most important player, imo) he could be on the sidelines at anytime. Quite a risk if we have no others in the team who can pick up his mantle.

My ideal would be to have other Hendo type players, but keep Hendo as he could just as easily have a season like this one with very little injury absence.

4.) 28 Feb 2017 20:10:34
I had pf when I played. There is no cure just rest so glad no WC or euros this year believe me this is the only thing that can help. got to feel for Hendo.

Hi Eds, we scout numerous players throughout the year and was wondering if the interest in Malcolm from Bordeaux is legitimate. I have not seen him a whole lot this year, especially since the most happening young players in Ligue 1 is Mbappe. Thanks Eds.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - Malcom was of interest to Barcelona, Olympique Marseille, Dynamo Kyiv, Chelsea and Juventus before he left Corinthians for a loan at Girodins Bordeaux to gain some experience. At the time he was expected to join Chelsea but the issues surrounding his ownership was a mess, to say the least. Bordeaux worked hard to untangle matters and persuaded the player to sign a permanent deal which ended a very ugly third party ownership deal with multiple parties involved in January 2016. The head of scouting in France for Chelsea has continued to watch Malcom with scouts from Braga, Juventus, Porto, Liverpool, Southampton, Manchester United and I imagine others taking an interest and watching him play.}

Ruthless on footy man that lad.

Where screwed if the eds started giving us them for answers haha.

19 Feb 2017 15:36:23
Hi Eds, I know there has been talk about Goetze and Brandt, so I thought I might make a trifecta and ask about Max Meyer. There was rumours of interest last January and there was rumours of interest in the summer. How do you rate him and do you think he may be a option. Cheers.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - Meyer does however fit the bill of a young attacking midfield player which prompted previous bids from Chelsea (who would have sent him on loan for at least one season before integrating him in to the squad) and Fiorentina in 2014. Schalke 04 do not want to sell the player and made it clear to Spurs and Milan who were showing an interest this past summer that any move was unlikely. The player has shared his desire to play in Spain with Real Madrid or Barcelona or to play in England. Other sides such as Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Arsenal watched him last season but had no real interest. If Liverpool were to lose Coutinho and/or Firmino he could be a player they may look to. Spurs remain interested but Shalke want to keep him so they might return in the summer but right now there is nothing going on that I am aware of.}

1.) 19 Feb 2017 20:38:37
Cheers Ed002, do Liverpool have any risk of losing key players this summer. Obviously qualifying for CL will be a big factor, but let's go with if we don't could some teams be flying above like vultures waiting to swoop in.

{Ed002's Note - If players are to arrive then players need to leave Harry.}

13 Feb 2017 05:49:14
Hey Eds, I know it is early in the season and there are several variables pending which players will leaves. Is there anyone that you think we will be going after our positions that we will address? Thanks Ed.

Harry the Red

{Ed001's Note - bit early really, but right now the most in danger of moving on are Bogdan, Mignolet, Randall, Moreno, Lucas and Sturridge. Mostly depends on incomings though and what offers we receive, plus where and how we finish the season will affect things.}

1.) 13 Feb 2017 06:15:45
Cheers Eds, I know it is a bit of a loaded question, but thanks for the info. Does Champions League truly play a huge impact on whether a players decides to come to the club. I would be under the assumption a player would come for the manager and the project at hand. To be apart of the build up to success. Great site Eds, been following for years.

{Ed001's Note - yes it makes a difference.}

2.) 13 Feb 2017 07:18:05
Thanks for the quick response, you guys are great.

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

3.) 13 Feb 2017 08:41:22
Does being in the champions league have an impact on how much we negotiate wgaes for potential signings?

{Ed001's Note - only in terms of having to pay bonuses each match.}

4.) 13 Feb 2017 09:14:47
Hello Ed,
Would it be fair to consider stewart, Flanagan, Wisdom, Markovic and Sakho as summer outs in addition to those you mentioned above?
Also do we hold any interest in Tiemone Bakayoko?
He is the only addition that could take our midfield up a few notches and reduce our team conceding stupid counter attack goals.

{Ed001's Note - not Stewart, but the others yes. Not that I am aware of.}

5.) 13 Feb 2017 09:39:46
Ed, are you surprised about Stewart? For someone who's rated he doesn't seem to get much pitch time.

{Ed001's Note - he will get his chance, he is still learning, we are far too keen to give up on players in this country. He just needs to be patient, his role is one that takes a lot of thought and experience is a massive plus.}

6.) 13 Feb 2017 10:42:49
What is a Project, Other than winning trophies in the end? Every club has a project mate. Players have a short career span and they would want to use it fully.

7.) 13 Feb 2017 17:59:53
Ed I see youve put Sturridge on this list. Is there a real chance he will leave in the summer then? I guess I thought he would stay here forever lol.

{Ed001's Note - there is a chance, far too early to be sure.}

8.) 13 Feb 2017 23:04:25
Bogdan is still on the books ah jaysus!

9.) 14 Feb 2017 07:54:04
Ah go easy, natural. I'm sorry for the guy getting a serious long-term injury. Would've been nice if he'd had a full loan season and earned a move somewhere to be number 1. Not good enough for Liverpool, obviously, but it's not his fault Brodger signed him, I woulda said yes too! He really must've thought someone was havin a laugh when he got that phone call.

10.) 15 Feb 2017 03:24:18
Spot on about Stewart there Ed.

05 Jan 2017 14:41:59
Hi Eds, do we have any interest in Lucas Alario from River Plate. Last year papers had claimed interest, but we had other priorities in the summer. Now with Ings out (which maybe a ongoing theme), Mane gone temporarily, and Sturridge's injury problems continuing even though minor, will the club add him or any other attacker. Cheers.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - Ings was not in the first team squad - even Liverpool are not going to look to replace him in the January window - it would be terribly silly.}

1.) 06 Jan 2017 01:53:40
Hi Eds, the logic is strange. Bcos Ings is not first team squad, that to you means his replacement won't challenge to be in 1st team to make the squad more competitive?

2.) 06 Jan 2017 10:37:12
We have 3 strikers not including Ings and no room for another. Klopp isn` t in the habit of spending money on a player just to take up space in the squad. Personally, i hope Toni Gomes at least makes the bench for Plymouth.

Hey Eds, a few weeks ago Klopp said that moves were being made and discussions were beginning for the summer transfer business. The thing he did not clarify if that meant discussion amongst LFC or with target clubs. Also do you know who the club maybe targeting or who do you all thing the club is realistic targets. Cheers Eds.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts, listen to the Sharkpods - this is what the site is about.}

01 Mar 2017 08:20:57
Hey Eds, any word on how much money will be made available in the summer for transfers for Klopp. Usually how does sales funds from players allocated. I am sure the full amount is not given into expenditures, because it is used to balance the books. Cheers.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't really work like that. The club will have an idea of what they want to do in terms of buying players and they will deal with transfers on a case-by-case basis. The club will not have a fixed amount in mind but will have broad figures that they would feel comfortable with.}

1.) 01 Mar 2017 19:41:53
No club really has set amounts really. maybe a ball park of an amount, but nothing specific.

30 Jan 2017 21:45:14
Hey Eds, how do you see the Sakho saga playing out by tomorrow. Will we agree to a loan, with an obligation to buy move. Also are there any negotiation going on at this point with any club for ins or outs. Have been a long time follower of the site, seems like club is holding their cards close to the chest, information is harder to come by.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - I have explained the situation H.}

28 Dec 2016 17:45:43
Hi Eds, with everyone asking about what is going to happen in January and throwing out random names. Before we start hearing us linked with Griezman, Messi, Bale and so forth. Can you put a summary of what you guys know and what transfer are more probable coming in and going out. Cheers Eds have a Happy New Year to you all and yeh supporters on this page.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - I have already done that in the Sharkopod.}

At the risk of sounding daft Eds, but what is the difference between a "Director of Football" and "Sporting Director". Michael Edwards was appointed as Sporting Director, I believe. How would those two positions coexist and who would have the final say on transfers. Sounds like FSG is rebuilding a transfer committee again, without the title.

Harry the Red

{Ed002's Note - Put aside the job titles - it is the roles the are responsible for.}

I understand what you are saying mate, but his actual primary position is left midfield, currently a position being occupied by Wijnaldum or Lallana. However, since he can play on the left and players are versatile in playing left wing. He can play the central midfield as well, but is not his primary position mate. Him and Couts will not be playing for the same role.

Plus of we qualify for Champions League, have players who can play multiple positions will not be the worst thing.

Brandt is also a good left winger, which is another position we have been improvising in. He would be a great buy for the club, Brandt is probably more feasible than Costa would be.

It will be hard to find a LB, from an academy director it is the issue that all clubs are having. All the academies are scouring each other to look for a LB that has a good left foot, but can also get forward. We are not the only one having LB issue.
