Has the konoplyanka interest ended for good? Or is he still a option? I think he would be a good alternative if sanchez and shaquiri are no go's! And are we intersted in alderweld of belgium?

Hi eds, is there a young left back coming through u18s or u20s? Just seems odd that klopp isn't looking for a lb, or is he really happy with moreno and millner? Thanks.

I don't know which poster the Ed is referring to but I have been watching the U21s and U18s as often as possible over the past few years so I will give it a go.
This season, Juanma the new LB signed from Barcelona B will likely be playing LB regularly for the U23s while Sam Hart has been promoted to be involved more with the U23s whenever Juanma is not available. Joe Maguire has been converted into a CB from LB last season and I expect him to continue there this season alongside Brewitt.
Honesty its difficult to see Hart or Maguire being ready enough and good enough to play senior football at this moment and Juanma we will have to wait and see.
On a side note, Randall was with the U23 squad while Alexander-Arnold made the bench for Arsenal even though he is expected to play central midfield predominantly for the U23s and that tells a lot about Randall who IMO hae never stood out and is at crossroads along with the likes of Jordan Williams, Lloyd Jones, Maguire and Dunn.

To be honest Ed001, I would be surprised if any of the ones I mentioned above make it at LFC. I don't mean to be rude but I think their chance has come and gone, and in case of Jones, Williams and Dunn, injuries have been a major problem while Randall and Maguire simply doesn't have it in them IMO. They could of course prove me wrong and have the sort of progress Stewart has had over the last year.
Couple of other things to keep an eye out for; Adekanye has had injury problems and has not really kicked on as the club has hoped and is likely to continue with the U18s this season. Danda similarly has not progressed at the rate expected and will again be playing for the U18s while for the U23s, Chirivella has hit a stagnant patch. I hope he recovers from his injury and kicks on.

AG, if you are keeping an eye on the underage set-up this year could you provide the odd update or two?
I used to follow it regularly when LFC TV was free on the Sky package but havn't seen much in last couple of years.
In particular I'd be keen to hear how a couple of players in particular are progressing. Woodburn, the young lad who impressed with the first team in pre-season, and Harry Wilson (if he is not gone on loan again) .

If talisca comes, reckon lallana and or Henderson will be off, just too many players, or were selling coutinho for big bucks and don't want teams knowing were flush and desperate to please fans. Maybe Benteke, Mario and Lucas r outs, and a surprise . but who knows apart from klopp I suppose.

I'd agree with Fencey, there is enough in the squad now for both Lallana and Milner to leave. I don't believe Talisca is coming though, it makes less and zero sense.

I am starting to think Lallana is off as well. A little surprised as Klopp has previously stated he likes Lallana's work rate, however watching LFC Press Box (I know, I know), one pundit's views were that Lallana is too slow for Klopp's desired team and is adding GW and Mane to remove Lallana as he cannot make him quicker.
Still though, would have to think Milner and Lucas are also out as the team bloat is huge.
If Coutinho was going, I just think he would have by now. It all seems quiet on that front, on his day he is lethal, teams that are competing for the title and champs league may see him as inconsistent at this stage of his career?

If ANY of the midfield rumours are true (I'm hoping they're not by the way), I hope it's the Moussa Sissoko rumour. Allen gone and Lucas seemingly close still despite injury I think Sissoko and Stewart could Form competition for when a stronger type of midfielder is needed. I know we already have several players that CAN play that role but I do prefer players playing their best roles not being used as stop gaps. I still don't think he's needed mind but I could understand Sissoko more than Talisca or Meyer. Sorry scratch that whole 5 minutes of typing as I've just remembered the Medel rumour, now that would be a great buy. Imagine playing a Pulis team, you need to be up for a fight as well as a game of football, Medel and Grujic in the centre of the park would take some knocking of the ball plus both are technically good and can play lol.

Ed I don't wanna stir the pot but is it now looking like Milner and/ or lallana are going to leave as I just can't see where they will play, Milner prime example he left city to come and play with us not to be a squad player, thanks in advance.
{Ed001's Note - as I have said all along, we are open to selling them both, if we can find a taker. Spurs are still showing interest in Lallana, so that could be a possible, but I doubt they will pay enough.}

Probably get shot down, but if klopp is looking for a striker who can press and run channels and score? Ie. Shane long, might be worth considering that Celtic striker Leigh griffin I think is name is, but he did fail at wolves. But he seems different player these days. As has impress on the few times I've seen this season. And its only a short term solution i suppose, just a thought (keep thoughts to ya self, 10000's r saying) . But ignore this and just hope we pay the price for klopps 1st choice textierria Innit Ayre and fsg.

Hi there Ed's, watching the juve game last night, I was thinking that the left wing back asamoah was quite impressive, and wonder if we have any interest as his atletic pace and power would suit the premier league, also thought the benfica left back was good calm and composed! Any thoughts and what other left backs we have interest in? Thanks

Don't know why we should care if Benteke is sold or stays, the money the club receive is irrelevant to the fans, if he stays, there's 1 more striker incase there's injuries, unless klopp can't buy a left back until we sell Benteke, then that's a whole new ball game, should be £30m plus £2.5 in add ons, he will be sold, strikers are a premium and he's a top striker if played to his strengths.

Thing about our midfielder is? Pace well the lack of it. Lucas and emre aren't fast enough for prem, were has hendo and millner will run all day, but still lack that extra bit of pace that would make them world class, still 2 top midfielders though. Think Allen has that little pace injection more then any of them, surprised klopp hasn't used him more in a 3 with hendo and milner either side, anyhow my point being that we should always thrive to be better and midfielder players with that extra pace would surely improve us. Is Allen getting sold in summer u think?

Ray clemence was only 6ft, not that much different to 5'11, barthez and casillas were similar, we shouldn't judge until we have seen them play in a lfc shirt, isn't there a famous quote about judging something by size? Lol

He's 5ft 11, but he can jump and raised his arms above his head, being slightly smaller will make him more agile and quicker of the mark, the type we need for a sweeper keeper who is good with feet! Seems a good choice imo, but like any signing, (if he signs, that is) only time will tell.
