Apparently Sturridge injured yet again? . recurrence of the same injury or something new?

Anyone confirm and or add more details.

GURU

1.) 26 Nov 2015 20:24:53
It has been confirmed by the club that he is out due a foot injury and would have a scan tomorrow.

2.) 26 Nov 2015 21:03:50
Not serious though eds is it?

{Ed001's Note - no one knows until he has a scan.}

3.) 27 Nov 2015 01:54:29
Last time someone had a foot injury was Hendo and he had to be out for 3 months. Sturridge will be out for the season then. Might as well start giving Sinclair game time.

4.) 27 Nov 2015 07:01:56
Its a new pair of socks and he hasn't worked the weave structure out yet, so it's causing a bit of pressure towards the ankle area apparently.

I've done a search but couldn't find the answer so I wonder if one of the Ed's (or anyone else) could assist with the answer?

I was wondering if the current Anfield expansion plans allow for any further expansion in the future? i.e. presently the capacity is circa 45, 500 and is being increased by 8, 500 to - 54,000, which for mine isn't a massive increase given the purported outlay, my opinion aside, could an increase on 54,000 be made if the decision to "increase/expand" arose or would it then mean a definite move away from Anfield to further increase capacity?

GURU

{Ed001's Note - the plan is to expand further in the future, as the area's infrastructure is improved to enable a larger capacity crowd to be handled by the transport links.}

1.) 03 Jun 2015 19:39:48
Thanks for the rapid reply Ed001 . I thought it would be very short-sighted not to implement/allow for such.

{Ed001's Note - the next step is just under 60k, if I remember correctly.}

2.) 03 Jun 2015 19:45:40
Ed2 said it could never go above 60k , the rail track near by wasn't viable?? What you think ed1 ??

{Ed001's Note - at the moment it can't, but the council and the club are working on a regeneration plan for the area which would change that.}

3.) 03 Jun 2015 19:55:34
Hi Ed, are FSG committed to the further extension? Planning permission guarantees made to the council etc? I mean will it follow straight on from the current one? I'm not sure If there is a time scale as to when the next phase has to happen.
The reason I ask, is come 2017 FSG might feel like selling up. So would the possible new owners be obliged to carry out the second phase?
Just asking like. 😊

{Ed001's Note - it is a long way off, nothing has been committed to in that respect.}

4.) 03 Jun 2015 19:58:06
Really that is great news , any ideas how long that would take ? 2 years 10 years??

{Ed001's Note - to improve the infrastructure we are talking 10 or more years even.}

5.) 03 Jun 2015 20:11:40
Ed1 can I ask you how dose it take that long ?? Why not in 1-2 years say??

Thanks

{Ed001's Note - you have to redo the whole area, it involves compulsory buying hundreds of properties etc.}

6.) 03 Jun 2015 20:21:48
Is there a railway track that can be used?? Or will 1 have to be built??

{Ed001's Note - one of the issues is a lack of rail links.}

7.) 03 Jun 2015 20:50:20
And the KOP definitely needs re-doing/increasing when they can sort out the infrastructure.

8.) 03 Jun 2015 20:53:33
There's an old line which cam always be reopened with the backings the rail network.

9.) 03 Jun 2015 21:54:21
They are planning a sale at the right time.

{Ed002's Note - Not planning.}

10.) 03 Jun 2015 23:59:09
Didnt Merseyrail look into reopening the old bootle line to passengers a couple of years ago?

Its still used for freight now isn't it?

That could be complete crap like and I'm going off memory.

{Ed001's Note - they always talked about it, but nothing ever seems to happen.}

Three points - but what an absolute joke of a game!

Given the media speculation surrounding Real Madrid and their purported interest in Raheem Sterling (spurious or not), if, and I emphasise "if", the club were to sell him (putting aside the - he would want to go, etc, etc scenarios), just wondering how would fans view/interpret this?

Would a sale of this nature bring into question whether we as a club have started to slip onto the side of a "selling" club or would we as fans purely look at it as the owners know what they are doing and it must make business sense?

Not banter per se, but does anybody know why the the "live" sections of LFC TV are not being broadcast i.e. pre Match discussion, post Match phone-ins, daily News, etc, etc?

Thanks in advance

{Ed002's Note - Someone mentioned it being revamped.}

In my opinion it would be very naive to think that Gini's mobility, energy, consistency and workrate doesn't need replacing.

Henderson, Thiago and Fabinho look the starting midfield trio, however, over a full and demanding season will they be able to stand up to the rigours? . if history is anything to go by, probably not.

A club like ours needs, (and should have) players who can really push for first team place (s), if they are not in the first eleven then they need to be pushing those that are, not simply "happy" to be a squad player or content to be on the bench . and if they are selected to be on the bench then when they do get a game they need to be of a level that poses Kloop a true conundrum - "I deserve to start", why? because I am just as good if not better than so and so.

Unfortunately for too long, our first eleven has been excellent and ultra competitive, but after that the level drops.

If Naby could "step up" and produce his Leipzig form, then perhaps we could manage, however that is a big "if", and let's face it, he hasn't been devoid of injury for long enough to even suggest he might - will that change this season/

Curtis Jones has talent, no argument, but for mine simply isn't consistent enough nor is his work rate high enough to command a regular first team place.

£49 MILLION agreed . probably £44 or £45 with add ons! (don't forget the fee we have to pay QPR)

If we are really interested in Pedro than I think Chelsea's "sniffing" may have contributed slightly in the change of stance and the agreed sale.

I'm sure the powers that be finally realised that the "magical" £50 Million offer they wanted (or hoped for) was never going to materialise, thus the inevitable sale had to take place now or run the risk of "losing" an "asset" further down the line for far less.

The player had again shown his hand this week, even if we kept him, and Rodgers naively played him, I doubt he would have tried one iota unlike Suarez.

Deep down I like Sterling, but for the greater good of the Club he had to go and I;m glad he is taking that parasitic, poor excuse for an agent with him . I might be totally wrong, but in years to come I think he will regret the whole sage.

. {Ed001's Note - do you really think he would be interested in coming to us while Rodgers remains in charge?}

And I would imagine this comment wouldn't and doesn't apply solely to Remy!

Once a satisfactory deemed amount is offered . from whomever, (United the only possible exception), the owners will definitely sell!

Whilst their footballing acumen and sense may be questionable their business acumen isn't, irrespective of what Rodgers may or may not think or say, they (the owners) will not risk holding onto a asset that is viable and can presently command a relatively high fee, rather than keep him and watch it "depreciate".

As the Eds have mentioned time and time again the Webster rule is indeed a possibility (if it ever came to it) and with Mr Money Hungry Ward pulling the strings don't be fooled into thinking that he wouldn't advise Sterling into "employing" it if the occasion arose . if the player is as genuinely as unhappy as it has been purported and portrayed in the media then the owners will sell!

Redhead100

Trent has been "drifting" for the past couple of weeks, of late he seems to play where ever he wants . difficult to be solid at the back when you are in a lot of situations playing "two" at the back.

Trent (and some degree Robbo), frustrates the bejesus out of me - in the oppositions half he is world class, in our half he is mediocre; just my opinion, but personally I don't think he reads or anticipates the game with any defensive know how . pretty hard too when you're rarely in a defensive position, (preparing myself for the backlash) .

Cannot say everyone was "Awful", but what I would say is that once again we struggled to break down a team that dropped deep and defended with ten (or in this case nine) men behind the ball.

As much as it pains me to say it, because I abhor Chelsea with a passion, but Kudos to them because they defended well and did what they had to do in the second half. Conversely, I thought we passed too slowly and basically looked like a team that thought it was a matter of "time" . eventually we will score.

Too be honest, I think the way we played in the second half we could be still playing and still would not have scored . very average up front (Mane looked sharp in pre-season, but in the League pretty average) .

A draw, one point, move on!

or what it is worth Ben elf I agree, I think the new strip is pretty appalling.

The cuffs and neck line are being described as "crimson" (or whatever colour variant Nike wish to call it), which has no real correlation to the club for mine, perhaps the design is a discarded A. S. Roma aberration? supposedly the colour is meant to reresent - power, energy and danger . danger alright, danger of making my eyes bleed - not liking it!

Keeping with the A. S. Roma/ Italian theme, I noticed on the training jacket that Nike have placed another garish looking piece of "fashion" fabric (aka we have run outof ideas) in the middle which have symbols that for mine resemble A. C. Milan and ACF Fiorentina's logos - what and why?

Perhaps one of the Ed's might be able to enlighten me/ us on how the decision (s) re the Kit are reached? surely someone at the club signs off on the final design decisions, or under the contract are Nike given carte blanche?

I've never been impressed by Ian Ayre, and after watching the initial part of todays press conference he has only reinforced my impressions - gee I would hate to have him next to me in the trenches, and if he was I certainly wouldn't turn my back to him - creepy, slippery, so and so . Rodgers' supposedly had his full backing, now, if you listen to him he would have you believe that he was the sole driving force behind deciding upon, selecting, and getting Klopp to sign!

Klopp was, and is KLOPP! . down to earth, a thinker, intriguing, beguiling and a purveyor of common sense! in one interview he has displayed more than Rodgers did in his self opinionated pandering three years!

I don't expect miracles, although they may or may not happen under Klopp, but one thing for certain, I'm more upbeat simply by Kloop's display of passion and effervescence . what you see is what you get, he isn't trying to be something he isn't, something Rodgers could learn from!

I've said it once if I have said it a hundred times, the bloke hasn't a clue! he is fixated with himself and truly believes he is indeed a person who can manage, the man couldn't manage to wash the kit correctly.

How many fullbacks has the bloke bought in his tenure? and still we are reduced to playing a player out of position at left back (and no, I'm not having a pop at young Gomez who I think has done an extremely good job).

The centre back position is problematical, Lovren is not up to it, yet it is apparent Rodgers doesn't feel Sakho is either, so a club of Liverpool's stature has arguably one first choice centre back - Skrtel, who, like so many looks so uncomfortable trying to play to Rodger's system . whatever that may be.

Midfield looks very weak with the absence of Henderson. Lucas is probably the best defensive midfielder we have at the club but in truth he really isn't up to the level that a club wanting to prove itself, and in turn gain (and sustain) a position at the top needs.

Can seems to run around like a headless chicken, seemingly oblivious to the position or manner he is expected and has told to play . Ings finally gets a game, but he may as well have been told to play in goal as to play in the position he played today. Again, in the main it isn't Lucas', Can nor Ings' fault, I'm sure they are trying, the fault lies with Rodgers and his inability to recruit players who can play in his fixated and inflexible system, and arguably, more important, devise a new system that suits those players once it's been established that they can't play in his system.

I felt so sorry for Benteke today, the man has class and ability but he may as well be sitting on the bench at least that way he will have a few players alongside him - so isolated!

The owners must surely have seen today what was apparent . he sent a team out at Old Trafford today for a draw (or as I would more precisely describe it, make sure you don't loose in order to "protect" my job), and when the team went behind he clearly had no idea how to alter things (and this was against a very, very average Utd team).

Forget the two front teeth all I want for Christmas is a P-45 with Rodgers' name emblazoned all over it!
