Not posted in a while and have had to change username. Anyway, a few comments:
1. Cannot understand why people are slating the Eds. They are the reason we visit the site as their info is the best. Nobody knows exactly what is going on in any club, we all rely on snippets of info and generally the Eds get it right. Without them this site is nothing but a whinge
2. Some really desperate posts re the transfers. The last 2 years has seen a massive up turn in everything. We must trust the manager and his team. what he has achieved since coming in is nothing short of a miracle. Remember we had Balotelli and Benteke!
3. Currently watching a re-run on BT sport of the semi against Man City. Our style completely out-played them. We don't need that much to equal their consistency. A 20 point margin is a lot to close in on this season but I can see us running them close. VVD has massively improved the defence.
4. we need to leave Karius alone and trust in the GK situation. We all make mistakes. He has not even done a full season so give him a break
5. Made up for KK. should have been knighted 20 years ago but I guess better late than never. For anyone who has followed footy since the 70's, he is simply the best.

rant over.

Well said.

Good post mate.

3.) 15 Jun 2018 06:23:56
Great post, agree with all points! I'm calling something special to happen for us this season :-)

4.) 15 Jun 2018 06:48:11
Agree with everything there mate.

5.) 15 Jun 2018 07:04:31
My issues with keeping Karius as number 1 are as follows:
•Every football fan knows he had a howler in the champions league final and every time he throws a ball out he will be reminded
• Klopp has to win something this year or I fear for his job
• If he risks not replacing Karius and doesn’t win anything everyone will say “well the whole world knew Karius needed replacing and he didn’t do it”.

Now it’s up to Klopp to make the choice, but it is his job on the line this season in my opinion.

6.) 15 Jun 2018 07:34:37
And replace him with who?

Personally I think the owners think they are lucky to have him and he is steering the club in the right direction amongst fierce competition.

From a business model point of view he is doing everything right in the owners eyes

I don’t see his job being on the line at all if he keeps finishing in the top 4 and amongst the champions league revenues.

7.) 15 Jun 2018 07:56:35
GKID4, great post mate.

8.) 15 Jun 2018 08:08:31
If we continue to play great attacking football and mount a serious challenge in the league and get through group stage of Champions League and have a go in the domestic cups then if we fall short in all competitions it should not necessarily mean we have failed and Opp should be under pressure for his job

It’s all about whether we can continue to see progress. One likely yardstick to look at will be whether player recruitment and retention is positive. If we we see top players moving on and not ring replac d with quality then the writing may be on the wall.

Spurs and Arsenal have the same issues.

Think Mourinho has one more season at United and Chelsea are in a bit of a state of flux at the moment.

If Citeh mess up I the Champions League they will not be happy bunnies.

Klopp's job is at risk? The guy who just got us to our first CL final in 11 years and has turned the team into one of Europe's most feared wrecking machines?
Are you living in an alternate reality Ron?
Give your head an almighty wobble lad.

10.) 15 Jun 2018 08:13:09
Ron, I agree with nearly everything you said, except that I don't believe Klopp's job will be on the line if he doesn't win a trophy. He's the only one who will decide when it's the right time to go.

I do hope we win a trophy this coming season though, for Klopp's sake as well as for the club.

11.) 15 Jun 2018 08:47:04
Spot on Ron! Atm klopp is doing fine but how many times we've seen things quickly change?

When was the last time our manager didn't win anything in 3 yrs and still kept he's job?

Klopp very soon will need to start winning trophies or else a lot of uncertainty will start btw fans and we all know what happens after that.

As for karius it's a tough tough decision for klopp to make. If he does any mistake just imagine the reaction from our fans media pundits etc.

12.) 15 Jun 2018 09:04:19
Klopps job isn't on the line Ron mate. A really good keeper would make a huge difference but.
That post deserves a big COME ON MAN! Without klopp we would have more than likely finished below arsenal and still been struggling.

13.) 15 Jun 2018 09:12:53
Great post gkid. Going to disagree there Ron, on Karius he’ll face abuse everywhere but that’s to be expected. It was mentioned that he has a very arrogant streak to his character so I believe he’ll improve greatly from this. And if he does improve we will have an outstanding keeper. As for klopp, 2 European finals in his tenure so far is sure to keep the owners happy. If we nosedive then there might be questions asked but so far we seem to be improving year on year. Moreover improving more than any other team.

{Ed002's Note - The owners want to win things - unlike the Liverpool supporters they have no interest at all in celebrating coming second.}

14.) 15 Jun 2018 09:48:03
I don't think it is unreasonable to suggest klopp has to start winning things or his position as manager will most definitely come under review soon. He won't be allowed to keep spending money if the trophies aren't forthcoming soon. Questions will be asked at the end of the coming season if there are no trophies again. That would be three and a half years without a trophy and a crap load of money spent.

15.) 15 Jun 2018 09:50:14
Ed2 as far as I know you're not a Liverpool fan but I must say you're more a Liverpool fan then some so called Liverpool fans.

Good post aoe. I'm happy with the direction we're going in. We've progressed dramatically the past couple of years and this is down to the club as a whole. I'm so grateful for us getting to that CL final, it showed how capable we are. Getting to that final is a huge achievement in itself above the likes of City, Barcelona, Psg etc. We should be proud of the club.

We're adding quality additions, additions what was drastically needed, next season we're the team to be watched. We have brought that fear factor back, any team playing us will be weary.

Trophies or not, the club is moving in the right direction. I can understand what you're saying Ron mate but personally I feel the club will stick with Klopp as long as he is moving us in the right direction, which so far he is doing.

16.) 15 Jun 2018 10:29:17
I imagine they do ed, and it’s good to know they won’t settle for second, but I also imagine they are content with the progression the club have made this season (at least on the pitch) . I know they’ve (miss) spent an absolute fortune in their tenure so here’s hoping we do win something very soon. Genuinely enough, I am celebrating coming second this season because I think we gloriously overperformed in Europe but more than that, it was amazing to be back in there fighting for such a trophy. I’d almost forgotten what it was like to be nervous before a final. Don’t get me wrong, I want it all, I want the league and European cup but after the last decade or so, we have shown time and time again just how far off the elite of Europe we have been in almost everything we do, on and off the pitch- but for the first time in quite a while, I feel like we can take the next step and push on.

{Ed002's Note - They are not content at all - hence their trying to buy success.}

17.) 15 Jun 2018 10:40:21
Klopp will go if we don't get top4 or a trophy. I think he will be saved with a 3rd place finish behind City and Arsenal.
As edd 2 mentioned the owners want to win things and if klopp don't deliver this year or next its bye bye Mr klopp.
