Just thought it would be interesting to get everyone's opinions (eds too) on Lovren at the moment? Thought he was much improved towards the end of the season, and has looked good so far at the World Cup, would people like to see us a bring in another cb to partner Van Dijk? Or would we be happy to go into next season as Virgil and Dejan our first choice prtenrship?

{Ed002's Note - I think he has been doing OK.}

Consistency has always been his problem. I’d personally like to see him as first choice as he really does have the ability on his good days.

You can’t judge players for premier league based on their performances in International football. It is almost like 2 different sports.

Examples: Mo Salah, Dejan Lovren.

I agree he’s looked decent in 2 games for Croatia against Nigeria and Argentina. That’s all you can interpret from the World Cup in my opinion.

Love the Lov. Good guy, had bad times, came out stronger. Keep.

4.) 23 Jun 2018 12:23:29
I think he's definitely better alongside Virg who communicates well. Matip seems so quiet when he plays and I don't think Lovren himself is a great leader. Definite improvement in the second half of the season, I can see a strong partnership forming.

All for keeping him, I don't think he'll ever be brilliant but he'll do fine whilst we wait to see how good Gomez can be.

6.) 23 Jun 2018 13:34:35
Agree, lovren I'd the man on his day and has looked better than Vvd in some games. Vvd awesome and partnership with lovren looks good also.

7.) 23 Jun 2018 13:43:12
Like see gomez not get injured and have a run of games.

8.) 23 Jun 2018 13:54:59
Yeo I too am a big Dejan fan, admittedly only since the past season. Seems a great character in the dressing room and playing alongside VVD is bringing the best out of him. He's been playing like a beast for months now.

9.) 23 Jun 2018 14:17:20
He’s no more than a third choice defender for me.

10.) 24 Jun 2018 00:02:32
A new partner would hinder any chances of Joe getting game not mention could take time to develop a partnership with VVD oh and won't come cheap nor make any financial sense considering that we already have a bunch of CBs at the moment majority brought in by Klopp himself id say Keeping Lov whose been good makes sense. Could be wrong but I'd think we got more pressing needs like sorting out loan policies to attend to.

He has stepped up massively since vvd arrived, but he is still error prone and showed it again v Argentina. Trying to block the player expecting the keeper to rush out and get the ball, but he misjudged everything, fell on his backside and the keeper didn't make it. Lucky for him they missed a virtually open goal lol.

Morning everyone first time poster here, don't know if it's been discussed before, but it's obvious we are looking for someone to Replace Coutinho i. e the interest in fekir! Obviously not straight away, but does anyone feel given time it would/ could be a role Ben Woodburn could excel in?

1.) 17 Jun 2018 11:40:25
I think he would flop in that role but I am negative.

2.) 17 Jun 2018 11:47:48
It depends on whether he likes spreadsheets.

3.) 17 Jun 2018 12:16:48
He needs amble senior team exposure or a full pre-season.

4.) 17 Jun 2018 13:01:23
Good enough to take Lallana's place in the squad.

5.) 17 Jun 2018 13:20:00
I think he’s quite similar to Coutinho in a number of ways, although obviously a few years behind in terms of development given his age.

I think he will be fantastic for us in 2-3 years time but needs game time but for next year I hope he gets a full year on loan and lots of game time in a solid championship team like Harry Wilson did as that would probably be best for him.

6.) 17 Jun 2018 15:13:18
Coutihno is Brazilian for starters also he played in Brazilian league, then went too Italy played for inter then went too espanyol in Spanish league so he played in 3 leagues around Europe an Brazil, this is before he got too Liverpool, woodburn simply doesn't have the experience that coutihno has had, an hasn't really been given the chance to shine let's not forget he is only 18yrs of age, I think Wilson more likely too break through.

7.) 17 Jun 2018 17:55:09
I agree with what you are saying but in my original post I did say if given time?
