Hi eds, do you know if liverpool are looking to bring in another winger to replace sterling? Know it's been reported that we might look at Pedro but just seems unlikely to me given how stocked we are in forward positions, especially if we sign Benteke.

Firmino

{Ed002's Note - Right now the focus is on Benteke. A move for Pedro is certainly not to the fore at this time.}

1.) 11 Jul 2015 18:06:30
Ed002 if we fail in getting benteke have we got any other targets we would likely go for or would we stick with what we have got ?

{Ed002's Note - For now the interest is in Benteke - in the event that a deal can't be done I am sure the club will consider their options but hopefully won't be stupid enough to buy for the sake of it or to buy to impress the fans (Balotelli for example).}

2.) 11 Jul 2015 21:29:59
Hey ed, a slight rewrite of the previous question, if you don't mind - if we DO sign Benteke, and the outs go as planned, do you expect the club to bring in another player?
Have a great evening!

{Ed002's Note - It can only be a perhaps.}

3.) 11 Jul 2015 22:31:29
We have enuff players than we know what to do with so why do we need more?

4.) 12 Jul 2015 11:24:24

Hi eds any word on any potential winger targets? That's the one position everyone seems silent on and the position we're probably most lacking in. I saw that Yarmolenkos agent was recently at Melwood could there be anything in that?

Firmino

{Ed002's Note - Read the posts and use the search engine.}

1.) 23 May 2016 18:53:37
Yarmalenko would be a colossal waste of money. I don't see any point going after a player who isn't good enough and a club that will be difficult to negotiate with.

Hi eds do you know what the latest situation with Markovic is?

Seem to be a lot of mixed reports about him lately, some saying Fener want to keep him, others saying his loan might be cut short. Apparently a report today is saying his agent is trying to get him a move to Fiorentina.

I think he's a talent with great pace and we're not exactly blessed with wingers atm so seems weird to cut ties so soon without Klopp having a good look at him.

Thanks.

Firmino

{Ed002's Note - I have answered this plenty of times. Try searching please.}

Fenerebache will look to make the move permanent in the summer. Markovic wants out after we wasted a year of his career.

2.) 13 Jan 2016 16:01:07
Does klopp want him to stay?

3.) 13 Jan 2016 16:18:44
I don't know I'm just reciting what Ed002 has said but even if he did Ed002 has made it pretty clear Markovic will be looking to move on. Can you blame him? He needs to resurrect his career thanks to Brendan.

Any update on potential destinations for Enrique eds? Also wondering what the situation with Markovic is, seems pretty low down the pecking order right now, is there any chance of him going out on loan?

Cheers

Firmino

{Ed002's Note - Nothing for enrique. Markovic will stay - the club has already screwed up the chance for him to get his career back on track by over-pricing a move. Bit player this season - exit next summer.}

Ed I'm not having a pop

1/ because I prefer a discussion with you and 2/ because I've just seen your response to tony 'the not happy because you aren't physic' soprano.

But you keep mentioning about Liverpool refusing to pay the proper rate for players and messing clubs around but then subtly have a pop when they put a big price on a player

Markovic cost us nearly 25 million and you mentioned last season about some very high extra costs. Why should we sell oj the cheap and what would you price him at? And what would you say if the club let him go on the cheap?

I get people say we should of let him develop etx but these players don't have to make the move do thru? They no the risks of joining such big clubs.

I for one would always makr the move because for example say stones doesn't move now but then blows his knee out after the window closes then that could be it and he might never get the move. I do believe you should always make the move but it is at your own risk.

Sorry ed only wanted to ask one question but went on abit.

To clarify I AM NOT HAVING A GO AT YOU. Do not Blow my head off.

What we did with the Suarez money was outrageous. Lallana, Lazar, Balotelli, Lambert ! Utter Disgrace, spending for the sake of it.
Thankfully we've had a brilliant window this time around but your completely correct, we should try to recoup some money for the players, Chelsea seem to do well when it comes to this

3.) 27 Aug 2015 09:39:50
@DBol, you mentioned Chelsea in a fair way in your post. These threads Chelsea are supposed to be used like a stick to hit Ed002 so I'll say it (tongue in cheek) before anyone gets on actually being serious

It's so unfair Ed002 if this was Chelsea you would say they are giving him more time to grow as a human being. Somebody will be hired to cut his hair and take him out for walks around the City so that he feels loved. You will see a different player, a more mature player, in 12 months time and even if he doesn't work out at Chelsea then it'll stand to the boy in the long term.

How do you know Liverpool are not doing this? ? Well, Ed002, how is my 'waah Chelsea' impression?

{Ed002's Note - I explained last summer that Chelsea did not take Markovicnbecause he wasn't ready - a year later no playing time, priced out of a sale and he is still not ready. Chelsea are I am sure very pleased wih the profit they made from him.}

4.) 28 Aug 2015 10:07:24
@Ed002, yep I remember you made that perfectly clear at the time. I had never seen him play but obviously from seeing him last season it would have been clear from even watching him a half dozen times before signing him.

I don't know what Chelsea paid for their 50% share, don't really care, but ya they will be very pleased with getting a little over £10m for it.

My post was intended just to take the mick out of us Liverpool supporters where some few seem obsessed with having a go at Chelsea - maybe I should have used "Chelsea got it wrong with Kevin De Bruyne" or something but I am only messing and I know Chelsea still got good money for a young player they didn't need and they let him go to further his career.

Reckon Benteke will be the last of our summer business eds? Overall not a bad summer if you ask me, but you can never tell until the season starts.

Allen set to be offered new contract and Skrtel will sign a new three year deal. (Echo)

Allen to be made captain and make £300grand a week and get the number 8 shirt with Xavi on the back

Nice one, Dbol. After all, he is the Welsh Xavi.

Nah, it wouldn't have dragged on so long if we were willing to pay £30m, what difference is £2m for our supposed top target?

If we were to accept that, even Liverpool surely couldn't struggle to get some deals over the line with the cash they'd have to play with.

If he's Coutinhos's replacement then we're stuffed. Not as bad as replacing Suarez with Balotelli but we'll be going backwards not forwards.

Buzzing!! Either one would have been great for me but Klopp is my personal preference, tailor made for this club IMO and will bring some much needed energy and enthusiasm back into the club. Helps that he's also a very likeable, charismatic man. Really excited for what the future holds.

Thanks for all the info macca, the true 'ITK' haha.

Ho Ho Ho has Christmas come early?!? Ruthless by FSG if they've pulled the trigger this early (after backing him) but most of us can see his time is up.

If this is the case then fingers crossed for Klopp or Ancelotti to take over. But tbh any manager worth his salt should be able to make our squad competitive.

I think he's going to be a great player, brilliant pace and athleticism and good technique, although it would help if he could at least kick the ball with his right foot. He just needs to learn when to attack and when to stay back, and also needs to improve his positioning, but these are things he should learn and have drilled into him by the coaching staff, who are hopefully better equipped now.
