Eds I heard Corchia has been made available at his request. I remember we were linked with him in the past and apparently he's available for around 2m. I take it this is a non-story?

Exotiva

{Ed002's Note - There has been a bid made for Corchia by l'OM and that has been accepted. There is a delay due to the availability of the money for the transfer to complete. I would expect it to go through.}

Ed001 I heard we had representatives at the Portuguese Classico looking at Nico Gaitan. I remember a couple of years ago he was being linked with a £30m+ move to united.

How come all has gone quiet with him? Have we, to your knowledge, expressed any interest other than the probable 'minor' scouting that we do on many players per season?

Exotiva

{Ed001's Note - I don't know, I will ask about him, not a player I had even thought of asking about and he has never been mentioned to me as a possible before.}

Hi Eds, Eds 001 or 002, I read a report from a spanish journo saying that Suarez to Madrid is almost done. Do you think a deal has been discussed under the radar between the two clubs or is it just speculative writing? Sorry to bash on about Suarez. {Ed001's Note - I am not aware of it being almost done, but I would not be surprised if they made a fresh bid for him.}

Morning Eds and Fellow Reds! Not posted in a while- Been to the US and got Engaged!- didn't get any news whilst I was over there, so I come back and see we've signed a new keeper. I'm a big fan of Mignolet, and whilst I think that having competition is important I just can't see Reina being happy to stay if he isn't a guaranteed starter.

Apart from Barcelona's alleged interest, which clubs may be interested in a goalkeeper of his stature? Are atletico still looking at him or have they managed to bag Courtois for another year?

Great job on the site Eds, loving the changes to the search function! {Ed002's Note - Napoli and Barcelona remain the most likely destinations for Pepe right now. Courtois will be staying at AM this coming season.}

I have a little request. Could we try to get through this silly season without insulting our players?

Let's see if we can go the whole of the transfer window without calling LFC players 'deadwood', or grumbling about FSG and their 'lack' of financial support.

And 10 bonus points to all who can avoid asking a question that has already been answered 3 times that hour.

Exotiva

1.) 18 Jul 2017 06:34:58
We are not linked with any other players than those three! I am afraid you ll have to pass the whole window mum!

2.) 18 Jul 2017 09:42:25
Oh it's a laugh a minute. Come on the silly silly remarks that people make keeps us entertained. We all really know that pretty much everyone on this site, if they were better qualified, informed, able than the guys making decisions at the helm in team affairs then they'd be earning their pennies doing so. I love my club and will support to the end and enjoy this site but take with a pinch of salt all that is said on it.

Hi Ed001, just curious; out of our current crop of 'most promising youth' such as Ejaria, Ojo, Woodburn, Wilson, grujic, TAA etc, which if any do you think are the most promising?

Personally I still feel as if Sheyi Ojo is the one to watch. But I'd love to hear your opinion.

Thanks.

Exotiva

{Ed001's Note - TAA, I remain unconvinced by Ojo, clearly has skill but seems to be struggling to grow into his body and it is affecting his touch and timing badly. He might never lose that awkwardness or he could become a star, but Ojo has a lot to prove to me. TAA, on the other hand, looks comfortable and mature.}

1.) 09 May 2017 06:46:11
I was going to ask last night about Ejaria actually.
Only seen his cameo and league cup appearances.
Do you know the clubs thoughts on him?
Am I right in thinking that before Klopp came in, he wasn't thought of as a potential first team player?

{Ed001's Note - he impressed in preseason but he picked up an injury that has ruled him out recently or he would have got more games. He is very much liked by the coaching staff.}

2.) 09 May 2017 07:11:34
Thanks ed.
Give me a choice between a £50 million signing or a youngster coming through the academy and I would pick the latter every day of the week.

{Ed001's Note - same here. Both have a place but it is so satisfying to produce a talent rather than buy it. Though I am never sure which camp players like Ejaria fit in. He was brought in from another academy after all.}

3.) 09 May 2017 07:58:28
I think the satisfaction with Ejaria lies in the fact he was released by Arsenal, and we made/ will hopefully make him a first team player.
A bita of a middle finger to them, if you like 😊.

{Ed001's Note - good point.}

4.) 09 May 2017 08:54:23
Woodburn if handled properly looks a class act.

But then I thought Jack Dunn was a class acta few years ago, just shows you what injuries can derail a lads development.

5.) 09 May 2017 09:39:15
Pedro Chirivella looks like he can be a good one i think, dutch league isn't the best, but he is looking good the matches i've seen him play there. Very smart player for his age.

Morning Eds and Reds,

Its been a while since I've been on here. Mom got diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and I started a new job and moved to Seattle which is much more like the UK than Cali had been.

I was just wondering what has been happening here? I lurk in on match days and I've noticed a significant portion of the posters now seem a lot more negative.

Back when I joined (a couple of years ago I think) the place was great. There were outlandish rumours about someone's uncle's mate seeing Ronaldinho outside the Shankly Gates, and just a lot of fun. But it seems like it's all gone.

Where did it go? I used to love coming here, getting involved in discussions and having a laugh. Now I peek in and can't be bothered.

Eds I appreciate all the stuff you do for the sites, even the Everton and Manc Eds :p

But lads, can we lighten the mood and just enjoy the footy again?

Thanks.

Exotiva

{Ed001's Note - so sorry to hear about your Mam, I hope at least the new job is good?}

1.) 09 Apr 2017 19:46:55
I love the new job, working for a big insurance company. A lot of perks, great time off and fantastic work culture.

Yeah It sucks about mum, she's been fighting it for over a year now, and the Alzheimer-like symptoms are really kicking into gear.

The hardest thing is her being still in the UK and me being in the US so I can only call her, but half the time she's so far out of it the conversations are really strange.

How have you been Ed?

Must say I have to agree with you on Klavan BTW.

{Ed001's Note - sounds like chatting with my ma, but in her case it is just because alcohol is cheap in Spain! It is difficult for you being away from there, but I am sure she appreciates the call, even if it doesn't always show. I hope you can get back to see her before she gets too ill, it helps to get a chance to say goodbye when you lose someone.

I have been good mate, just insanely busy lately.

The one thing I will say about Klavan, he seems to be always available, which is something. Still, it was not a good signing, no matter how many good games he has, I would be sure that Gomez would have as many good games and also wouldn't be exposed by any player faster than a sloth with asthma.}

2.) 10 Apr 2017 04:53:42
Hi Ed001 -
In your opinion Kolo Toure would have been better than Klavan as a back up? I feel he brought PL experience positive attitude to the team.

{Ed001's Note - I love Kolo but he was picking up injuries too regularly to be relied on. We did need someone we could rely on, and Kolo wasn't that. However, to have around the squad he was brilliant.}

Alright Eds and Reds,

Most of you are probably unfamiliar with me, I post fairly infrequently but visit every day.

I just wanted to ask a question; what is happening to us?

It used to be that we would really appreciate everything that the great players did for us; we would be grateful for their contributions and when they eventually left, we would greet them lovingly at every return.

Now the attitude is somewhat different. People rip into players before they have even left; ridicule players if they haven't adjusted to the league fast enough and actively call for their heads if they turn out to be not as good as we had hoped.

It's actually really sad. I'm 25 and when I was growing up, my dad told me all these stories about how great LFC fans were and I lapped them up! i wanted to be like them and do my part for the team. It seems like those days are gone.

I understand that sometimes it's frustrating; I understand that it's hard to keep our expectations in check. But we must. For the good of the fans, if not the team.

The mood on here recently has been pretty. tense.

So let's all try and lift the spirits a little? Of Couts goes, then let's give him thanks rather than kick him out the door. And if we sign new players, let's welcome them in rather than set them up for failure.

I think that will help us all.

Also, big thanks to the Eds who have made it impossible for me to abandon this site no matter how doom and gloom it got. Your information and interactions are very much appreciated.

Thanks.

Exotiva

{Ed001's Note - times have changed, everyone expects everything now, whereas in the past they had to work for stuff.}

1.) 09 Jun 2016 17:50:27
I think it's frustration and impatience at having to wait so long for a league title, and seeing man United overtake us.
We all heard the stories of how great we where, winning leagues, European cups etc.
thing is most of us have not seen any of this (apart from Istanbul) we only have the stories and the memories of the generation before us while watching medicocracy most of the time.
When Klopp gives us a hat trick of league titles and a couple more champions leagues and a few FA cups as well in the next few years we can go back to being less moronic and impatient ;)

2.) 09 Jun 2016 17:51:00
Ed001's generation crippled the housing market, and now we're all bitter and depressed because we are sleeping in our parents conservatories on a Sofa bed at 22 years old.

Oh, just me? Never mind.

{Ed001's Note - not my generation mate, my generation is doing the same thing. Well that could just be me from September....}

3.) 09 Jun 2016 18:27:29
Haha, I'll let you off then Ed.

I applied for council housing and they said until my Mrs gives birth I don't qualify as I earn too much. So I applied for a mortgage and got told I don't earn enough. So I looked to rent, and the cheapest 2 bed place close to my work is £800 a month. Basically the powers that be indirectly made me homeless. So me and my Mrs were just drifting for 6 months in between our parents places.

Until I found out you can buy a holiday home for £300 a month and own it inside 4 years. So I'll be partying on a holiday park for the next 4 years until I can sell the static home for £15k and put that down as a deposit on a house haha. Only issue is, you can't technically live there, you can just 'holiday' there for 49 weeks of the year. So for 3 weeks in need to go on an actual holiday and party some more haha!

Where there is a will, there is a way! And I refuse to pay rent and line the pockets of a greedy landlord! Purely out of principle. Rent prices are absolutely outrageous, but the UK government won't do a thing because the MP's all own a house in 15 different countries across 4 different continents!

The only place in the UK I could afford to get a house is Liverpool, but I put feelers out and there just wasn't any Industrial Engineering jobs up there! The witch is dead, but her legacy still lives on in the North.

Hope your housing issue is resolved when you return, and if you ever need a place to stay I have a free sofa, a 50 inch TV and a beer full fridge. Brrrp!

{Ed001's Note - rent is obscene here, that is why everyone shares.}

4.) 09 Jun 2016 18:40:11
@ exotiva : that's the truth brother. I have never seen a really successful Liverpool side but yes there have been some really good moments.

As the Ed's have said some of the off pitch decisions have brought our club to this stage.

I have no real dislike for Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham etc but once you wouldn't mention them in the same breath as Liverpool.

The times changed, they adapted and we did not.

If things go on like this we may be the last generation of a once huge Liverpool fanbase : (

But Klopp can really change that. which is why I have a huge respect for him.

Lets back him and our players to take us back to the top!

5.) 09 Jun 2016 19:47:01
Not to mention they had free higher education Adam.
Please spare a thought about this eds next time we say something stupid ;)

{Ed001's Note - I never had free higher education, I had to get a job the moment I left school.}

6.) 09 Jun 2016 23:10:53
+1 Exotiva. It is in adversity that true charcter is displayed.

7.) 09 Jun 2016 23:57:59
I blame the Internet. It gives a loud voice to the frail of mind.

8.) 10 Jun 2016 00:33:40
Successive generations have failed to tackle housing due to a mix of self interest and greed (I'm 49). Rents are determined by market conditions, not by landlords. I live in a well to do Cheshire village. New developments are proposed which local residents generally resist due to NIMBYism and the depressive effect on existing prices. Developers don't take into account local needs (amenities, shops, school places etc) and needless to say the plots don't include affordable housing. Fear drives my generation to hold on to property we inherit to pass on to our kids
Good luck MK and others. Even more so if Brexit happens and interest rates rise.

9.) 10 Jun 2016 09:12:33
I have been a Red for over 40 years so have lived through the unparalleled successful years plus the recent lows. One of the reasons I started following LFC was the knowledge, warmth and love of the crowd not only for our team but of football in general. I remember Jurgen Klinsman being totally blown away by the Anfield crowd after grabbing a last minute winner in the FA cup and the whole stadium rose to applaud a wonderful footballing moment despite the pain of loss. I loved watching opposing goalkeepers coming to Anfield for their first visit being totally confused as the Kop applauded him into his goal.

This attitude is in stark contrast to the bitter vitriol spouted on here by some so called fans who have NO footballing knowledge and certainly no class who think its alright to rip apart anyone from our club who they don't like, be it a player who has a bad game or even a manager who doesn't fit their profile. I can't agree with that at all, I won't support blindly and maybe glad to see certain individuals leave after they try and yes fail to live up to our standards but I will be thankful for their time and efforts and wish them luck in their future ventures (apart from when they come back to play us) and consign them to our history.

Remember even poor players or managers give us a memory and sometimes even contribute to a special moment such as Jan Kromcamp (who? ), part of the 2005/ 6 FA cup final team, he was part of the team that created the game that gave Stevie G the opportunity to score the best ever FA cup final goal. Our history is littered with players like him who might not be successful or even come close to being a true Liverpool player but they are part of our fabric and these type of players are needed to help us along on our journey regardless of their ability. So support them all as they are part of OUR team, OUR history and for me part of my life.

YNWA.

Alright eds and reds?

Most of you probably won't remember me, I was decently frequent on here a couple of years ago and have since moved to sunny california. I've been pretty inactive in my posts but I have been VERY active in my lurking the site.

I just came back to hope you are all well and to say a big thanks to the eds for all their hard work.

Ps I GOT MARRIED WOOT.

Exotiva

{Ed001's Note - congratulations mate, explains why you have been too busy. How are you finding it in California?}

1.) 14 Mar 2016 06:20:30
I love it Ed001! I'm my experience the people are a little more laid back and a little less rude than the people from my native Leicestershire. Only problem is I have to wake up at 4:30 to watch the pool : (

How have you been, sir? I've kept an eye on the site and want to say thanks for keeping it running. It really is my primary resource of LFC info now that I'm across the pond.

{Ed001's Note - good thanks mate, getting married myself in January *fingers crossed*.}

2.) 14 Mar 2016 06:37:45
Wow congrats man! I hope it goes nicely for you both! It was the best decision I made, apart from the fact that my wife is a gooner. But I'll forgive her!

I really hope it all goes well for you though Ed.

{Ed001's Note - my wife-to-be has never seen a game of footie, it is nice to just have a break and get away from it when I am with her.}

3.) 14 Mar 2016 06:43:12
Best of luck Ed001 and congratulations Ps I GOT MARRIED WOOT.

{Ed001's Note - congrats mate!}

4.) 14 Mar 2016 07:52:16
Ed001

How in the world did you find someone for your self. One of ed025's exes?

{Ed001's Note - Ed025 is so old, there are no exes of his left alive. His number was chosen as it was the same as the year he was born. 025 ADE.}

5.) 14 Mar 2016 08:01:18
So what's happening with the stag #1
Can't wait to see what your best man #2 has in store for ye. No shortage of women's clothing.

{Ed001's Note - if Ed002 organised it, the Hangover would seem like a quiet drink in a rustic pub.}

6.) 14 Mar 2016 08:10:29
Can i join the stag there's a few of us irish here we can help yee put the hangover films to shame haha 😂.

{Ed001's Note - I am beginning to think I should be the one avoiding it.....}

7.) 14 Mar 2016 08:28:00
Yeah ed001
Just the day you were born too worth ed007 as the terrible triplets.
P. s i am really running out of good returns lately.

{Ed001's Note - it is only fair to point out that Ed007 is a lot older than me! I am hurt you think I am as old as him :-(

8.) 14 Mar 2016 08:32:16
I have a feeling people in Leicestershire are quite in good mood at the moment - especially those living at Leicester and are into football.

9.) 14 Mar 2016 09:33:22
Ed001
And i am hurt that i still haven't received the wedding invitation to ascertain that your wife is real.

{Ed001's Note - sorry mate, there was no space left at the children's table for you.....}

10.) 14 Mar 2016 12:07:45
I didn't recieve mine either i shall watch weeding crashers to see what i have to do.

11.) 14 Mar 2016 12:33:51
Marriage is AWESOME. Welcome to the club, mate.

12.) 14 Mar 2016 14:24:08
Awesome? I wouldn't go that far!

{Ed001's Note - I bet your wife would go a lot further ...... if only to escape it :-P

13.) 14 Mar 2016 17:36:50
Don't be bitter lads. He made it pretty clear in the podcast that harry is the only one of us lot he wants there. Has he got back to you on that invite yet? Or has he not even bothered to listen to it yet.

{Ed001's Note - thankfully he never listens to the poddies.}

14.) 14 Mar 2016 17:39:28
I hear lourdes is a nice place for one and even at your age you wouldn't feel out of place.

I'm going for Alonso, Makelele and Essien.

Essien was just such an incredible footballer, Alonso was the Goat and Makelele essentially gave birth to a brand new position.

Rafa is a wonderful man! Had the pleasure of meeting him once, and was worried about his apparent standoffishness. I needn't have been worried. He was approachable, kind and smiling. I thoroughly enjoyed his time as a manager, the passion he showed and the way he has conducted himself off the pitch. Hope he stays in the Prem next season.
