On a different note, how is Chamberlain playing?

1.) 11 Aug 2017 20:28:46
Bad as always. Misplaced passes, looks uninterested.

TBH. he's not doing much first half.

6.) 11 Aug 2017 20:54:47
He is playing left wing back give him a break 😂.

7.) 11 Aug 2017 21:11:52
Redwillis, is there a position he is any good in as he's not very good in centre midfield and very ordinary as a winger?

8.) 11 Aug 2017 21:54:29
Maybe that's the problem he's always in a different position. Usually he's subbed before the 90 minutes. Personally I think he is a decent player but he just always seems to be injured. Would he improve our squad? Defo.

11 Aug 2017 15:39:35
Shock, horror!

Get in the real world kids as many of you have been kidding yourself for weeks.

Forget all this "he'll give us another year" stuff, and stop being naive.

FSG are playing hard-ball now, just like Southampton and Leipzig, but remember, all players go at a price, and I expect us to receive a nice juicy transfer fee.

Anyway, what goes around comes around.

I bet the eds have some hefty poke on some of the odds that were flying about now conveniently shortened.

23 Jul 2017 20:32:00
Anyone know if Klopp had a similar track record of unethical transfer approaches in Germany, or has this been highlighted because of Liverpool football club?

Surely a leopard doesn't necessarily change its spots, but this situation could rest on a nunber of issues:

- A lack of confidence in the current set-up by the manager.

- The inability of the staff to negotiate properly

- An arrogance from the manager with a disregard to all

- A simplistic naivety from everyone involved, from top to bottom

- The fundamental egotistical issue of being not being able to accept no as an answer.

Not that it bothers me of course, but it is intriguing.

{Ed002's Note - I don't want to see this opened up. As I have explained he needs to take a different approach going forward. He is a decent manager - not "world class" but decent. He needs to concentrate on coaching and give his view on transfers and then step back.}

Literally so bored of the site at the minute. Seems it's the same posts day in day out.

2.) 23 Jul 2017 23:05:19
Ditto, Benny.

3.) 24 Jul 2017 00:55:09
Not bored of site. bored of people not using the search facility or reading others posts.

fair play eds i feel for you.

4.) 23 Jul 2017 23:32:04
Ed002, just wondering if you think Klopp is a decent but not world class manager, who in your opinion at the minute is world class? Not stating that I disagree with you but would like to know who in your opinion are the top managers out there now.

{Ed002's Note - "World Class" mangers will be consistently sucessful. Klopp has won nothing for years. He is a decent manager.}

5.) 24 Jul 2017 07:43:42
Klopp does not go to clubs sitting comfy at the top. He pick clubs like Liverpool that when he arrived were in turmoil. If Klopp went to Man city of Utd or Chelsea do you not think he would of done a lot better than 4th place last season. I don't claim to know everything about football but I can honestly see that he does not just pick clubs at there high points. He has taken Liverpool and turned them around. I'm not sure who you support ED002 but is not Liverpool is it.

{Ed002's Note - He went to Liverpool because the job he wanted at Bayern Munich was not available at the time. I am not sure how his results at Liverpool make him "World Class" - his win percentage in competitive games at Liverpool is still slightly behind Brendan Rodgers - do you think he was "World Class" as well?}

6.) 24 Jul 2017 08:52:42
Neither BR nor Klopp is world class. Klopp is however, light years ahead of BR. Win % to me, is a fake/ illogical way of comparing managers.

7.) 24 Jul 2017 10:48:34
haha win percentage is irrelevant to compare managers? that way tony pulis is a better manager than alex ferguson. get a grip managers are only defined by how many games they won.
have to ever seen the tactical changes top managers like SAF, mourinho make in 90 minutes to win a damn game of football.
its about eating your ego and doing what's right when it is required and those two managers had some big ego.
Klopp is nowhere near a top manager. His teams would never sustain success and he might get us one PL title but he his not going to make us champions years in years out. he will go to Bayern once Ancelotti hangs his boots.
I have said it from day 1 us LFC fans are too much in love with Klopp so much so all his many evident short comings are just washed away. his media friendliness has us in all sorts of troubles. The club has faced two serious charges and is potentially looking at a future transfer ban. He is a downright clown with some excellent players at his disposal
antonio conte, with a lackluste chelsea side, with marcus alonso and moses on wings, cahill and luiz in defense raced to the PL title. That for you right there is a world class manager.

8.) 24 Jul 2017 10:48:34
Add Suarez and Gerrard to LFC last year, probably win the league. If Klopp can find a couple of world class players we will win plenty. They are hard to find though. NK has that sort of potential, that's why we've pushed so hard.

9.) 24 Jul 2017 15:55:21
I thought BR was the wrong choice start. I also don't think any manager will win PL titles with any consistency now either, the league is so competitive now. I think Klopp is a top manager at a club that does not have the financial clout of more than a few other PL club let alone European clubs. Klopps not the first manager to tap players up, and he won't be the last. Is Pochittino world class in you opnion ED002 because he is not winning things consitanly either and maybe had the best team for the last 2 seasons. I think your logic for saying Klopp is not world class is floored. Klopp is a top manager I would say as good as Pochittino. Also Conte did not walk in on an lacklustre squad, a top manager no doubt I actually tip CFC before the season started last year on the back of Conte appointment. Great squad top manager and a style that worked because a great defensive system an great players going forward. Given the same players and money to spend Klopp would of probably done the same.

{Ed002's Note - No, MP is not "world class" either.}

22 Jul 2017 15:19:45
Sturridge looks like he's got that bounce in his step back.

He seems to be moving more freely around that pitch.

1.) 22 Jul 2017 16:10:19
He seems a bit more agile than I ever remember and not sure but he looks to have "beefed up" slightly, not majorly but slightly more than usual and has a bit more strength to hold players off. Looking good for the season ahead, let’s hope he has done something about his injury proneness.

2.) 22 Jul 2017 17:11:46
Early days, bound t be out sooner or later!

3.) 22 Jul 2017 19:51:15
I don't understand why he keeps dropping into the middle! He is a poacher and should be making runs for anyone to pick him! He should be playing a lot higher and not drop into the middle!

4.) 22 Jul 2017 20:52:57
Agreed Naby, he kept coming too far back and at some point I thought he changed to a cm.
Might just be what Klopp wants from him though or he could be testing what to do with him.

We really needed mane fit because it's a mystery to see what Klopp will do with Studge and Firmino given they are both putting in great performances and IMO if things keep on improving with fitness, it'll be very hard to chose between the 2 who stars, could even see 4-1-3-2 again having both start
Mane Couts Salah
Studge bobby.

5.) 22 Jul 2017 21:28:40
He needs to work on his shooting. He's improved in every other aspect but he scuffs every shot at the moment. A couple of goals might help he looks like he's snatching at chances to me.

6.) 22 Jul 2017 23:59:07
i’ve got a feeling he has had to work on a completely new way of shooting to be honest and that’s why his shots are so bad.
In the past he would always injury himself slightly (and majorly) whenever he took a shot which he drove in with some power, guess now he’s trying to learn precision over power and finding it difficult since power worked (for the most part)

Good deal for West Brom.

At least they have a few more seasons out of Sackho.

Rinse Pulis though, but I suspect that he would be happy for a straight like for like defender.

My, how wrong the Kop was singing his name, but I suspect that arl Pulis would be happy as a like for like replacement; I would.

I suspect that the hardball played by the club may reek dividends come the closing days of the transfer window.

Now, its time to launch a Mickey Quinn bid, with our friends in Southampton and Germany.

I can't belp but think that he preps the boys with Robinsons squash, gives them a quick rub down with tbai oil, places the cones in numerical order and mumbles on the sidelines to his manager concerning the weather, leg waxing procedures, their next night out and odds of a miserable, English monopoly of Murdoch journalists and agent spinning his next club as a continuation of a betting culture which he is totally unaware of (aside from attending in stealth mode wearing a Hugo Boss hat)

Easy money but insecure job in todays climate.

Is Stoke warm?

I will trust the manager on this one.

If he was a defender, I would back us to play pass the parcel at the back like a labour club of toddlers, clinching the parcel like a ball in hesitant anticipation that the music/ whistle might just contribute to the fact that we haven't got a clue what comes next; sort of selfish.

Haven't you seen the adverts for the x factor build up?

This is what keeps us clinging on here.

The anticipation over hairy Simons comments far outweigh our transfer dilemma.

Get with the 21st century man!

Everton have set a precedent in my eyes in how to act and manipulate an inflated market.

Warning to Evertpn though is that the globalisation of the game will end in a typical thirst of success, which has burdened Liverpool regarding inflated transfer fees for many a season.

Ed 25, me mate runs many away day coaches on county road and I can see it changing love.

{Ed025's Note - i wish it was different davey but its the way of the modern world im afraid mate..

Many said that he had changed and was ready.

There must be thousands of them quotes as reference.

Utd had the luxury of Peter, then struggled and messed up thereafter, Liverpool had the half luxury of Grobbelar (excuse spelling) who set a precedent of not being able to catch a ball.

Utd struggled after Peter yet had a solid squad, Liverpool struggled in all areas and still can't replace David James.

Says it all, but even them shower can just about exist with Barthez and the lemo head etc.

Thing is, Everton want Costa, and I don't blame them for six months.

Some serious snarlers with him and Rooney, which can win you trophies, especially with both having a proven track record in the league, with bags of European experience.

If I was Koeman and many of my majority bitter yet tongue in cheek "you stopped us in Europe" friends, I reckon a short term loan of an experienced player of that quality could win them a massive European trophy this year.

Win win for me.
