Well Eds,

Further reports of Liverpool negotiating with Dortmund for Pulisic. Any truth in these reports?

Surely there is no room in the first team for him atleast for this season.

Thanks.

Dangler19

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any negotiations.}

Unless Salah is on the cards to move in the summer. It’s a matter of time imo since ed002 has said his agent been back to real.

Anyways players are players they all seem to want to move eventually be good if the club are preparing by buying in advance rather than vice versa.

2.) 28 Dec 2018 21:23:39
It only makes sense if Salah goes to real and if he does you wonder if ascencio might be available.

{Ed002's Note - Asensio is available but has already rejected one offer of being involved in a part exchange.}

3.) 28 Dec 2018 21:30:58
I know this will probably get downvoted quite a bit but I personally hope the Pulisic rumours are unfounded. The boy has potential, no doubt about it, and I suspect the owners would like to see an American involved with the club to boost the clubs image in America even more so. But, I am concerned that Pulisic's signing will close the door to young players such as Camacho and Harry Wilson.

Obviously Camacho can play right back, so he is less involved, but Harry Wilson should be given a chance in pre-season and perhaps offered a rotational role if Klopp likes what he sees. The boy has been impressive at Championship level, although I still have concerns that he plays as an individual rather than for the team, but should he not be given a chance considering his dedication and focus over the last few years. For a while everyone said Wilson was not good enough and that Woodburn would be the one to progress to the first team. Now, there positions have been reversed.

I personally would not want Pulisic unless Salah or Mane were on their way out of the club, which seems unlikely in January. Spening 30 plus million on someone who will demand regular first team football at this stage of his career when there are others areas of the pitch that could be potentially strengthened would be more ideal. Although, at this stage, why rock the boat with any changes. We have looked very good so far with the current crop of players so why not show your belief and trust in them by not acting in the transfer window and going with what we currently had.

I maybe in the minority but was just interested to hear people's thoughts, IF, this rumour turns out to be true.

4.) 28 Dec 2018 21:50:31
I agree mango id like to see Wilson get a chance next year but it seems Klopp likes most players to have a period to “settle” in so buying a replacement for Salah 5/ 6 months earlier in January makes sense for me.

That being said I see Wilson as being a good option to be rotated with mane and Salah or whoever the other winger will be next year and getting a chance to play.

5.) 28 Dec 2018 22:04:41
Lallana leaves in January and we get Pulisic.

6.) 28 Dec 2018 22:43:16
That is big news that Asensio is available Ed002. Before we even mention the transfer fee that RM would want do you know if we hold a serious interest in him and would he consider joining us?

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware but if they were to show an interest in Salah he might well be offere.}

7.) 28 Dec 2018 22:46:03
Ed can you say or not please if the swap proppsal for Asensio was from us?

{Ed002's Note - Nothing to do with Liverpool.}

8.) 28 Dec 2018 22:46:49
Thanks for the reply Ed002. As a lot of people have mentioned there are other areas in the squad that could do with backup before craming another attacking midefielder into the team.
We could offcourse stick a bid in for Digne 🤣🤣🤣. What a strike that young lad has on him!

9.) 28 Dec 2018 23:07:23
Pa that would be a lovely swap.

10.) 28 Dec 2018 22:52:04
If Salah where to leave for Real I'd much rather we went after Mbappe. With talk about PSG having to sell due to FFP and there was also talk that we tried to get him before he went to PSG from Monaco. In doing so we would lose no pace maybe even gain it on the right hand side and maybe very little in the goal threat also. The only stumbling block and I don't think we could overcome it is Mbappé wages. I think I read he is on about 300k a week. If so that is out of our reach.

11.) 28 Dec 2018 22:53:19
Good reply Mango. I agree to an extent and would not want an ‘average’ signing to block the path of a potential LFC star from the youth system. I think Pulisic is a better prospect than Wilson though on the basis that he has the raw qualities required to be in a Klopp team. Wilson is scoring spectacular goals but could he play with discipline in a Klopp team where it’s all about the team as a unit?

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see the young lads come through the ranks. But if Klopp were to spend money on Pulisic, you have to trust he sees him as the better option.

12.) 29 Dec 2018 00:01:09
I am correct in thinking that Pulisic is a Manchester United fan?

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

13.) 29 Dec 2018 00:09:41
Can’t see it myself. I reckon he’ll go to Chelsea, the German press seem to think this is already a done deal for that to happen. Love to be proven wrong though.

14.) 29 Dec 2018 00:33:12
A quick question for ED02 and apologies if I have missed this somewhere recently, but has Salah or his agent tried - again in this current season - to talk about a potentoal move to Real Madrid?

Or is this just what happened last seasom being respun again?

As always, grateful for you insight and opinions.

{Ed002's Note - Earlier in December, so yes.}

15.) 29 Dec 2018 10:58:33
If Salah goes i hope we get Mbappe! What a player!

16.) 29 Dec 2018 12:05:45
Is it possible he leaves us then Ed in the summer? Have we sought any thoughts into who might replace him or far to early I guess?

{Ed002's Note - Firstly, Mbappe will not be moving to Liverpool. As far as Salah is concerned lots of things are possible, as they are with all players. Real Madrid, again, did not make the approach and there was a prior discussion with PSG in Paris. My understanding was that after being thrown out on his ear last time with a request for an absolutely unacceptable financial request and an unacceptable contract clause, there has been the realisation that if Real Madrid with their rebuilding plan of adding a central striker and two high-end forwards who can play wide, then any chance Salah has of moving there will be gone. So the approach taken, as I understand it, was a plea to not continue down that route and to consider Salah again. And that is it right now. They would of course try to include a player or two in any deal and have a whole bunch available - but right now there are no discussions with Liverpool.}

17.) 29 Dec 2018 12:51:11
Thanks Ed.

18.) 29 Dec 2018 12:51:11
Thanks Ed.

19.) 29 Dec 2018 14:30:13
Thank you so much Ed for your detailed reply mate. Also thanks for another great Sharkopod. Can’t wait for the Liverpool one. Have a good day and a great weekend. Are you watching/ attending any games over the weekend?

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome - I am not a great watcher of games and rarely go to games but I may just get a long to at least some of the Maccabi Tel Aviv - Maccabi Netanya match next week.}

Morning Eds,

Just wondering if you have heard anymore developments with regards to willian carvalho. I'm expecting this guy to be the suprise stand out player for Portugal.
Thanks

Dangler19

{Ed002's Note - There is interest in Carvalho from a number of clubs still and there have been fairly recent approaches by Monaco, Juventus, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid. Juventus and Chelsea have passed on previous interest because of the cost. Sporting would ideally like to keep him a year or two more. The asking price will likely beyond what Arsenal would want to pay. Atletico and Inter would look for a different solution financially. Jorge Mendes was in Manchester in late January to talk to the club about him and was in the UK at the end of March talking to another club about two players. Whether or not he met with Manchester United or not I don't know. At best I would think they have told him that they would like to take the player and would like to sit down with Sporting and him to see if a deal can be done - but they know the price and it is significant and there seems little room for negotiation. Liverpool looked at the player earlier in the year but I am not aware of any interest right now and the price would be far too high for the club. Monaco should not be discounted. It is understood that after the appointment of van Gaal an enquiry was made with Manchester United to establish if they were still interested in the player - and I understand that the club has said that they are.}

Hi eds,

Could you add any truth to the talk about liverpool and chelseas interest in Mahmoud Dahoud please?

1.) 18 Feb 2017 11:46:14
Back in November 2016

{Ed002's Note - I am only aware of one side having approached Borussia Mönchengladbach recently and it is not Liverpool. }.

{Ed002's Note - Right.}

2.) 18 Feb 2017 11:57:45
Yet some think it is going to be as easy as buttering bread when it comes to signing Dahoud along with mentioning random names Liverpool should sign.

Ed002 has made it clear on quite a few occasions that when it comes to transfers it is not about just paying the fee, the player, agent and selling club accepts and the player is yours. There are many, many other variables when it comes to signing players and clearly majority of fans do not understand this. Ransom names makes fans look even more (no harm intended) daft.

3.) 18 Feb 2017 14:27:33
Exactly max. I have learnt more about how transfer and the non football side of things work on this site, than the bs sly sports throw about every window. All thanks to ed02.

4.) 18 Feb 2017 20:06:34
Liverpool looked at him last summer and decide Can against signing him and went on to buy Wijnaldum.

5.) 18 Feb 2017 22:52:21
So why would Klopp go for Dahoud now if he doesn't think he was good enough last summer? It's not as if Wiji has been a flop cos clearly, he hasn't been.

6.) 19 Feb 2017 11:30:00
Nothing to do with Quality Hamilton. Borussia wouldn't want to sell both of their midfield players last summer hence we moved on to other targets. Dahoud is a quality player with brilliant range of passing. He by no means a reject.

7.) 20 Feb 2017 20:24:10
Your post is actually correct, Harry. However, I'm still unsure about Dahoud especially with Wiji already performing in that role UNLESS both will fight it out for that position ahead of Hendo.

Thanks.

Hi,
Can anybody fill me in on when liverpool train at Melwood. I am bringing my son over for the first time this week and would like him to see them leaving training on Wednesday. Will they train on Wednesday morning before the match that night?
Thanks in advance if somebody could help me.

Dangler19

1.) 02 Mar 2015 10:24:59
You can call Mellwood and they can confirm a rough time that training may finish. It's mainly a case of being there early and hanging around. I grew up in Walton and a few years ago brought my son over from aus and he was (still is) obsessed with anything lfc. He had me at Mellwood on and off for days getting autographs. Some players wouldn't stop but the best were agger and Kelly, making sure everyone got some face time.

Well lads,

Thanks for all the info and time out into the website this last while. Just wanted to know what you think of our chances of any signing anybody this window. Really think sissoko reminds me of another djimi traore and is not good enough quality over the next while. Was salah our main target or are we interested in the likes of shakiri etc.?
Thanks
