Couple of rumours this morning.

1) Crystal Palace interested in Benteke. Be quite funny if this one goes through, considering Pardew labelled him 'a cheat' after the league game at Selhurst Park

2) Liverpool linked again with Neven Subotic. In my opinion, we should have signed him instead of Stephen Caulker. I just didn't get the Caulker signing at all.

One things for sure. With Toure gone, and Skrtel looking like leaving, plus the Sakho situation, a new CB should definitely be brought in, maybe even 2.

"Maybe even two"?

What, as well as Matip? What are we going to do with 3 new centre backs?

2.) 24 Jun 2016 10:31:21
Play a back 6? 4 centre backs in between Chilwell and Clyne. Put Origi, Balotelli and Benteke up front as they are all tall and just hoof it up to them. No need for a proper midfield. Just have the new signing of Toni Kroos sitting in front of the back six for his accurate forward hoofs!

3.) 24 Jun 2016 10:01:44
The Crystal Palace rumour seems to have the s** as its only source. Nuff said.

Caulker was brought in on loan.

4.) 24 Jun 2016 11:23:26
GingerLfc, didn't realize that that rag was printing the Benteke story. I realise Caulker was a loan signing, but that's my point. I'd rather we'd bought Subotic (a player Klopp knows well) rather than loan in a CB from the Championship, who is now no longer at the club, and was primarily a 'stop gap' signing.

5.) 24 Jun 2016 11:50:20
You've made my morning Adam. lmao.

6.) 24 Jun 2016 18:01:12
I don't think we need another centre back with Matip, Lovren and Sakho in the squad as senior centre backs and Square Tomato confirming that Gomez is expected to be the 4th choice.

7.) 24 Jun 2016 20:04:52
The Real AG, I think one of the Eds said Gomez would go out on loan - not that I would agree with LFC if they chose that. Subotic would be an excellent signing, but that would be an immense rotation (Subject to injuries) and I think a center back pairing consistently used is key to a strong defence.

Seen us linked a few times with Ryan Bertrand. Anything in this Ed, or is it just journalists linking us with yet another Southampton player? Are Chilwell and Amavi the only 2 LB's under consideration by Liverpool?

Dances like Sturridge

{Ed002's Note - Search and RTFP - you are just wasting my time.}

1.) 01 Jul 2016 15:56:28
Klopp wants Chilwell, and a deal will likely be struck. If not, then Amavi will be targeted. Get any other LB rumors out of your head.

25 Jun 2016 19:20:40
Ed002, you say that 'Ibe is not wanted and the club has made that clear'. Can I ask, why do you think that is? For me, he's a very good young player who I feel will improve in the coming years. Is the club's seeming willingness to sell Jordan related to off field issues? Thanks in advance.

Dances like Sturridge

{Ed002's Note - He has no future with the Klopp and is available.}

1.) 25 Jun 2016 21:00:43
But for what reason does klopp not want him ed?
Baz.

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know Baz and although he had issues in the past it is likely that KK does not see him as good enough for him.}

2.) 25 Jun 2016 23:20:14
He's a decent young player but let's not sentiment get in the way. he isn't good enough for a team that wants to challenge. He looked great whilst on loan at Derby, hence being called back early. But since then he's not impressed me guys.

3.) 26 Jun 2016 00:12:51
He was smoking that shisha pipe with Sterling wasn't he? That's what I heard anyway.

4.) 26 Jun 2016 08:12:37
Good try wth 'KK' Ed - much better than 'Klippity', which had far too many syllables to really catch on. Trouble is, there's another Liverpool related KK already.

{Ed002's Note - Keegan, I know.}

5.) 26 Jun 2016 11:19:40
Poison Ibe is just terrible. Zero end product, keeps his head down constantly and just runs into players. Get rid.

25 Jun 2016 12:31:03
If (when) Mane signs, and if the Chilwell deal actually happens, will that be our transfer business regarding incomings pretty much completed for this window, or can anyone see us looking to strengthen other areas?

Dances like Sturridge

1.) 25 Jun 2016 12:59:37
Klopp wants a Can-Dahoud midfield.

2.) 25 Jun 2016 12:59:46
Central Midfield.

3.) 25 Jun 2016 13:08:58
Definitely agree with Dwaronaboat CM Milner, Can, Hendo as a midfield doesn't work. Need somebody defensively stronger.

4.) 25 Jun 2016 13:47:57
Haven't mönchengladbach just bought a third midfielder? Pretty sure they still won't want to sell dahoud unless we do a mane and offer them way over the odds which won't happen. Although I like the look of mane, and will be moderately happy if we do sign him I think we are paying over the odds again for a player we shouldn't pay way over the odds for (like benteke, lallana for example) . Yet we won't pay over the odds for players like dahoud. I'd never want us to pay way over the odds for anyone but if your going to do it at least do it on exceptional talent.

5.) 25 Jun 2016 12:58:49
I think that will be it. No more incoming and focus would be to offload players who are not in managers plan.

6.) 25 Jun 2016 15:03:41
I think we need to get Dahoud before everyone realises that it wasn't just Xakha running it over there.

Southampton in talks to sign Redmond from Norwich, according to Sky. Preparing for life after Sadio Mane?

Dances like Sturridge

1.) 25 Jun 2016 12:28:30
i think we were after redmond ourselves at one time, i think we should buy him because he has the talent and will only get better also we should go in for him now instead of buying him off southampton in a season or 2 were his price will treble, i wonder how much southampton payed for S. Mane and how much profit they will make on him.

2.) 25 Jun 2016 12:34:38
Mbrock99 According to Wikipedia, Saints signed Mane for £11.8m, so that is a very tidy profit for them.

24 Jun 2016 10:49:39
Just on the ownership issue. There are rumours that Fenway are in talks with groups from Qatar, and most recently China. Are there any truth in these rumours? Are FSG actively looking for a buyer for the club?

I like Joe Gomez, and frankly, I'm pleased that he's in Klopp's plans.

Ed002 I presume you're talking about the farce that was the attempt to sign Clint Dempsey from Fulham, when FSG refused to pay the £5m asking price?

We've turned to Mane because we couldn't get Gotze. Mane was/ is our 2nd choice. The fee is steep, but it looks like the transfer is happening, so let's get behind the lad.

Chilwell is a young lad who has no PL experience. He will be Moreno's understudy. Why aren't we trying to sign a more experienced LB than Chilwell to actually replace Moreno?

Swishcleaner I applauded FSG's stance over Suarez and Sterling. They got fantastic deals. What annoys me is that, they robbed City, took Barcelona for a lot of cash, yet we lose out on potential signings because they don't respect other club's valuations of their (the other club's) players. Since they bought the club, their record in the transfer market is poor (bar a few exceptions), and we end up finishing 7th/ 8th every season because the players they have brought in are not good enough. Brendan Rodgers wanted us to sign Ashley Williams from Swansea. FSG refused to sanction the deal due to his age, yet went and signed Kolo Toure (who is older than Williams) instead. Rodgers made it quite clear he didn't want Balotelli. FSG signed him anyway. The season after we finished 2nd, we had an awful transfer window (Balotelli, Lambert, Lallana etc) . Complete crap. We wasted the Suarez cash on crap. They were criticised by Dnipro over Konoplyanka, they were criticised by Shakhtar over Teixiera, they were threatened by officials at Fulham, who were going to publicly expose them for the way they conducted themselves during negotiations when trying to sign Clint Dempsey, in the end having to issue an apology to stop that happening. They were quoted £5m for him, and still tried to get a further reduction. We are getting a bad reputation because of the way the owners and the people they employ have conducted themselves in transfer negotiations, and it's been happening for a long time now. It's incompetence and arrogance of the highest order.

Dances like Sturridge

{Ed001's Note - FSG do not make signings, your whole post was fantasy bull. Rodgers chose all the players signed in his time, except for Balotelli, when he left the club with no other options due to his dithering.}

Acrock I think Mane is a good signing, but if we're talking 'marquee signings', those types of player should thrive on the pressure, and would have confidence in their ability to go out and do the business. Look at Bale. He's carried Wales through the qualification rounds, and now he's doing it again in the tournament itself. Does it look like he's feeling the pressure? There's nothing wrong with marquee signings. I'd rather pay top dollar for proven quality, than take a chance on an unknown.

Considering he can't get in a piss poor West Brom team, and is a player that suits Pulis' style of play, that says a lot.

Dances like Sturridge

{Ed002's Note - You should really keep going after him - share the hate with another past, present or potential Liverpool player - it is after all the Liverpool way.}

Big Al I disagree that we don't know how to walk away. FSG walk away when it suits (Konoplyanka, Teixiera) and vastly overspend in other cases (Lallana, Benteke, Lovren. ) . They tend to either roll the dice and take a gamble, or just flat out refuse to pay the asking price and walk away. It's hard to understand why they operate the way they do. After all, they played hard ball with Arsenal over Suarez, and ripped Man City off for Sterling, yet, when another team names a price for their player, FSG try to get a reduced price, they penny pinch.

I think the criticism may stem from the fact that, other than Mane, the players we've been linked with are basically unknowns, and don't really excite.

Dances like Sturridge

{Ed002's Note - You mean they are not "marquee" signings?}
