Just read 28m bid for joao mario plus benteke on loan. Eds any truth.

DORSET RED

{Ed002's Note - Twitter I assume.}

1.) 06 Aug 2016 19:59:23
Can't see why we need Joao Mario?

2.) 06 Aug 2016 20:53:20
Makeshift leftback?! 😉.

3.) 06 Aug 2016 21:16:39
I think that's the last position we need to sign someone for.

Also Benteke on loan wouldn't be great either, he should be sold as JK doesn't want him. We should move away from the BR school of loaning out unwanted players - it has never worked out well for us.

4.) 06 Aug 2016 22:28:37
Joao Mario is not a left back so not needed.

07 Jun 2016 00:53:41
Ive read its chilwell and another for lb. That would mean both Moreno and Smith are off.

DORSET RED

1.) 07 Jun 2016 16:43:41
Moreno would be god to move imo. Smith should be given more time imo.

05 Apr 2016 01:01:53
Ed2 tentative links with Marlos Moreno, also saying we've scouted him heavily. he's an exceptional talent. Anything your end? I expect work permit issue but surely should get an exceptional talent one.

DORSET RED

{Ed002's Note - Santos have been negotiating with Atletico Nacional for striker Marlos Moreno but have yet to reach agreement on price. Porto has a declared interest. I am not aware of any interest from Liverpool and there is about zero chance of a work permit being granted at this time.}

1.) 05 Apr 2016 05:33:02
Am I correct in saying there's no exceptional talent visas for the UK anymore?

{Ed002's Note - Right. Only a handful were ever issued and he would not even make the ctitria for that.}

29 Mar 2016 09:11:01
So the media have set our targets as:
Gk- ter stegen or horn
Lb-hector, chilwell or Gueirerro (spelling)
Cb-sule
Cm- zielinski
Am- gotze

So that's 5 added too Matip and Grujic. Personally see it getting done if we have the money spare.

DORSET RED

1.) 29 Mar 2016 14:22:13
I saw a release clause for Ter Stegen quoted as 63m today. No way is he worth that £s or €s!

2.) 29 Mar 2016 18:40:19
Ed002 has said a few times Ter Stegen is available for €30,000,000.

3.) 29 Mar 2016 19:54:48
This deal for Ter Stegen could happen don't they owe us circa 13 million for Suarez so an offer for 7 million and he possibly could be ours hope so, if not would take Marc Bartra instead think he would make a great right back, Barcelona could possibly be forced to give us Bartra for free to finalise the deal for Suarez.

Jurgen will be right on this now that he knows Barcelona OWE us.

4.) 29 Mar 2016 20:01:15
Bartra? No thanks. Rather have Ter Stegen. Bartra isn't tall enough to cope with the premier league and from what I've seen he's not good enough either.

5.) 29 Mar 2016 20:52:49
Do Barcelona actually owe us money for the Suarez deal ed?

{Ed002's Note - Not so much owe as the last of the scheduled payments has yet to be made. The money was accounted for by the club in last year's books already.}

6.) 29 Mar 2016 22:19:29
Cheers ed.

7.) 30 Mar 2016 01:13:12
Bartra right back? Isn't he the one who was running in treacle for bale to win the copa del rey a few years back?
Would be happy with that summer, but would have to sell/ release bogdan skrtel toure ilori Allen lallana Moreno benteke and maybe Milner for it to happen. Along with balotelli markovic wisdom and Alberto. Ne mean feat getting money for some of those players!

8.) 30 Mar 2016 07:49:05
Anyone actually seen Ter Stegen play regularly for the last two seasons, or in any season for that matter? We do like to go one about buying players for vast sums who can't get games. See also Gotze.

9.) 30 Mar 2016 12:07:52
ED002 - not necessarily for this deal for Ter Stegen (if it ever happens) but does this happen? That future payments between two clubs are deferred/ transferred to another deal?

{Ed002's Note - It would be very rare, expensive from a legal perspective, would require UEFA approval and would require the club to talk to the tax authorities. What has happened in the past is that there has been intervention in cases where clubs cannot make payments - Glen Johnson being an example.}

10.) 30 Mar 2016 22:42:43
It's all academic anyway as the Telegraph are reporting that Man City may have agreed a deal with Ter Stegen. I only hope we don't end up with a second rate player like Begovic, Mandanda or Sigiru.

11.) 31 Mar 2016 17:37:56
Thanks for the reply eds - did sound a little to simplistic.

28 Mar 2016 04:03:42
Ed2 reports as of last night of our interest in Jetro Willems. Contract runs out in the summer of 2017. Could you see us move for him?

DORSET RED

{Ed002's Note - It seems unlikely.

Jetro Willems was of long-term interest to Manchester United but they opted for Shaw. Now he is looking looking to move and stalling on a new contract; Willems will probably have an offer from Manchester City but that may not make him first choice.}

1.) 28 Mar 2016 10:02:46
Be a good signing I think, sell Moreno and sign willems as replacement. Smith as backup/ rotation get him some experience because he will be top class.

{Ed002's Note - And Gomez?}

2.) 28 Mar 2016 10:38:29
Ed002 you mention gomez as a left full

Rogers played him there that's all he isn't even left footed nor a full back

Just because he played there doesn't mean a club should settle

Same with firmino as a striker he can do a job there but wouldn't go into a season considering him as one of our strikers.

{Ed002's Note - Rodgers knew, quite rightly, that Gomez could play left back and was far from ready to play centre back at this level. If Klopp only sees him as a centre back then I would suggest his career is over at Liverpool and they should let him move on.

Klopp has made it clear that he counts Firmino as a striker. Perhaps he is lying?}

3.) 28 Mar 2016 10:43:54
Gomez original position is cb, not full back.

4.) 28 Mar 2016 10:58:13
I think Firmino played AM at Hofenheim all along, Klopp use Firmino as striker as there is no other with same appreciation of space. I think once Ings fit, it will be ings and sturridge upfront.

5.) 28 Mar 2016 11:42:41
Gomez is not a left back - Right back or centre back. Think he will play right back this season, because he's better than flanagan and clyne.

6.) 28 Mar 2016 11:49:35
No harm calling him a striker this season as we needed him there but if we want 4 strikers next season I would want 4 strikers not 3 and firmino.

{Ed002's Note - So Firmino out as well then. Interesting.}

7.) 28 Mar 2016 12:03:46
If the gotze rumours are true u could see firminho as a st.

8.) 28 Mar 2016 12:15:06
Why would you not want firmino as a striker? His record is superb when playing there.

9.) 28 Mar 2016 12:25:18
Hardly said i want out now did i

Want him in his best position to benefit the team.

{Ed002's Note - So Coutrinho out then? You seem to have a very different idea from Klipperty about the players.

10.) 28 Mar 2016 12:46:33
What a load of tosh!

Firmino is a forward. Klopp said so himself. His playing style is not that of a typical 'number 9', so what?!

However, Ed002, Gomez is no left back. Right back maybe to allow him to mature before moving to centre back. Not left back.

He's no more a left back than Markovic or Ibe are!

{Ed002's Note - Gomez can play on either side and that was one of the reason Rodgers was keen on him. He was used on the left and if you think he can only play on the right then it would best to look to move him on as he is not what the club were expecting when he arrived.}

11.) 28 Mar 2016 12:49:10
Do you think Klopp sees him as a left back ed?

{Ed002's Note - He won't be looking to use him at centre back.}

12.) 28 Mar 2016 17:01:17
Gomez is a very versatile player. He is comfortable across the back. With clyne and flanno as rbs, sakho, lovren, matip and a new cb coming in he won't be playing there. Moreno and smith don't impress me at lb but Gomez did.

13.) 28 Mar 2016 20:07:18
To be fair in 2001 Carragher wasn't a first team centre back but filled in at either left or right back.

I'm sure that experience helped him when he did finally move centrally to partner Hyppia. To throw Gomez in CB now could well finish a promising career before its even started. Let him challenge the FB's for the next two to three years until he has 60/ 70 premier league games under his belt and then he'll hopefully have the know-how to take up his preferred role.

14.) 28 Mar 2016 20:31:13
Gomez is 18/ 19 and coming back from a season long injury.
Personally I don't expect him to figure much for the first team next season. He needs time to get his fitness and sharpness back. Klopp won't rush him, he's no fool.

15.) 28 Mar 2016 22:51:08
Gomez looked awesome at LB before his injury. He was ahead of Moreno and everyone was raving about what a player we have on our hands. Now he's a RB who can't play LB?

What did I miss?

16.) 29 Mar 2016 07:58:19
The kid has shown his able to play at Lb, suggesting otherwise seems a bit odd. Give it a rest he is seen as Lb by the club and did well at it.

{Ed001's Note - he played a game or two well and was dropped for Moreno before his injury. He is not a lb and is not seen as one by the club. He is seen as cover at full back and centre half, if he gets back to full fitness and form, with a future yet to be decided.}

17.) 29 Mar 2016 00:59:26
And Kompany was bought as a CM and Henry as a LW and Eric Dier as a CB. All have been a success in different positions to what they were brought in for and they are just a few in a long list! As a former player it annoys me when people pigeon hole a player in to one position and think they can't play any others! Nobody is born a particular position they learn it! Gomez can learn any position because he had talent. Same with Firmino. Ed2 you are very short sighted if you can't see this.

18.) 28 Mar 2016 11:17:11
if Gomez isn't ready for CB how can he be ready for first team lb? I'm happy to see him used at either position and integrated into the team as he made some very good displays before his injury. For me I'd be happy with
Rb: flanno/ clynne
Lb: new lb/ smith/ Gomez
CB: lovren/ sakho/ matip/ new CB/ Gomez
I'd happily move the rest on if that was pissible.

Ed2 what's your thoughts on the players on loan? Do any have a future at the club come the summer? I personally don't see any staying unless Allan gets a work permit. Looking at the squad its still hugely bloated, if you include the players on loan.

DORSET RED

{Ed002's Note - Ward is the pick of them but Liverpool will need to have a plan for him next season. Assuming Mignolet and Manniger leave and Ward returns then they will still need a third pick - perhaps Fulton would work. If the club look to another add a second pick ahead of Ward then he will know his time with Liverpool is over. Allan is expected to build a decent career - but I rather doubt it will be at Liverpool in the long term given that the club remains. Flanagan is another deserving of a decision in the summer - back in to the fold of the first team or move him on.}

1.) 21 Dec 2016 17:52:13
Looks like something went missing Ed002.

I am trying to follow Allan in germany and i am really exited about his potential.

Why do you rather doubt that his long term future will be with Liverpool?

Thanks :)

Enjoy your hollidays everyone.

{Ed002's Note - He can't get a work permit, there is no place in the team for him, Klipperty if he is interested in all of these players that the fans keep telling me about is not planning to use him. He is stuck out on loan with no plan going forward.

It doesn't look too rosy for him right now.}

2.) 21 Dec 2016 18:31:58
Oh that's right, i somehow forgot that he didn't got a work permit. Fingers crossed that he somehow end up qualifying for a work permit and he'll get his chance. I think he could have a great career with us.

Appreciate it ed002. Thanks a lot yet again.

Merry cristmas and a happy new year to you eds and all users.

{Ed002's Note - Enjoy the holidays.}

05 Aug 2016 17:21:19
Ed1, your thoughts on Ojo and what he has todo too keep a first team spot.

DORSET RED

{Ed001's Note - I would say play well, but, at his age, it is better to take them out of the line up a fair bit to keep them hungry.}

1.) 05 Aug 2016 18:43:02
What would you about Dele Alli? What do you think would have happened if he were not given playing time, both for the team and himself. And even the English team?
If Ojo I good enough he should be given enough games to prove himself.

{Ed001's Note - Dele Alli still needs to be given a reason to keep improving. It is a year or two down the line you need to think with players this age. Spurs need to add a signing to fight him for his place, or risk him becoming too settled.}

Ed2 reports coming out we have agreed a fee for Samuel Bastien. Anything your end mate.

DORSET RED

1.) 31 May 2016 23:18:14
Disgrace hath become me. This young boy Sammy looks a real handful for some such oppositions although I myself believe that a certain Welshman has more potential than the Belgian

If there's one thing I've learned over the past season or so it's that Belgians do not work in this Loverpool squad especially that god awful Origi who seemingly scored a fair few goals fair play to the lad one of the better players I've seen in recent times at the club a big powerful lad strapping handsome etc

Anyhow back to the matter at hand and that is oh bloody Nora I forgot oh that's right Sammy Bastien he looks a fair talent but one that I think would certainly not be ready for the Loverpool squad for another 24-36 months. Joe meanwhile you are a beauty and a side note that poor gorilla.

2.) 01 Jun 2016 07:40:11
what time did you start drinking? . Monday?

3.) 01 Jun 2016 08:45:43
Yeah but which mondsy and what year😜.

4.) 01 Jun 2016 10:59:03
Reckon love must have been down the old ship and mitre for few jars before writing this his mind could have been drawn by Picasso its so jumbled truly abstract brings a different meaning to cubism Howe Dr I must agree divock does appear a lovely young chap with real strapping shoulders. on another note this gorilla your talking about wouldn't happen to be named grodd and little psychic maestro if so than perhaps Barry's blast to the past has had some malevolent effects.

5.) 01 Jun 2016 11:19:57
I started drinking six or seven years ago and haven't been able to shake the filthy habit God knows I've tried even went to rehab for a short while but the nectar always find some way of jumping down me old throat and no the poor chap was named Harambe I believe young Queen.

6.) 01 Jun 2016 13:05:01
Oh okay thanks for clearing that up Joey boy and I hope you can overcome your demons and withstand the toxic drops of the old "nectar" as you call it and hopefully the only thing you will be getting drunk on is the joy of success when are lovely liverpool rise from the ashes like a Phoenix to the pinnacle of glory or even some glory for the england or Welsh in your case Joe lad.

7.) 01 Jun 2016 16:21:23
Origi will b in double figures next season as long as he doesn't get a ridiculous injury (15-20). imo.

22 May 2016 19:53:49
Ed1 Lloyd Jones, staying or going.

DORSET RED

{Ed001's Note - yes......

Sorry couldn't resist! I think he is going, certainly was last I heard and I am not aware of anything changing.}

1.) 22 May 2016 20:27:25
u have to wonder how sad their life is to do it mate.

2.) 22 May 2016 20:40:22
So that means jones, wisdom, toure, skrtel ans ilori all going then. that's 5cbs. Leaves us with sakho (banned) lovren, matip and gomez who is unready atm. Looks like we need 2cbs. Tah and sule for me.

3.) 22 May 2016 21:13:57
Toure isn't leaving and Lucas is reliable there. Looks like we may be targeting Sule, but Tah links seem way wide of the mark.

4.) 22 May 2016 21:14:23
I wouldn't be so sure Toure is leaving, and we also have Lucas who can cover at CB. I think only 1 more CB is needed.

5.) 22 May 2016 21:58:20
I'm sorry but Lucas is ok at CB for cup games and the likes of Bournemouth but his lack of pace, height and constant fouling will soon have everyone turn on him. Personally I'd be happy to see him go, great professional but his legs have gone and he gives away to unecessary free kicks away.

6.) 22 May 2016 22:41:17
12 months ago nobody thought Toure was good enough. And just thought I'd point out that Lucas at 5ft11 is just 1 inch shorter than Toure.

Lucas is quite good in the air anyway.

7.) 22 May 2016 22:45:26
Sorry pegleg, you couldn't be more wrong.

Lucas is again showing his versatility as an alternate for defence as well as a dcm.

The guy started with us as an AM! Not many players have that versatility, not to mention loyalty.

Still got a couple more years at least in him, albeit probably as more of a squad player now, which, btw, he's happy with, an even further indication of the loyalty of the man.

He's the closest we currently have (alongside Cafu) of our Scouse heartbeat.

8.) 23 May 2016 00:14:05
You never know SG might return as a lothar Matheus lookee- likee sweeper!

9.) 23 May 2016 02:38:41
SG will never return as a defender. Lothar was always a brilliant defender (he was assigned to mark Maradona at the 86 World Cup from memory) so it was natural for him to drop deeper as he got older. So can't compare him to SG whose defensive skills (particularly his ability to read attacks) have never been anywhere near as good as his attacking skills.

22 May 2016 09:23:26
Ed2 do you know much about Fran Tudor? Seen his name loosely linked. A rb i gather. Possibly a backup for Clyne.

Whats Wilson got to do then too get a chance. Doing great in the under 23s. Your telling me that they both wouldn't of done better than Firmino whos poor out wide, Sturridge who had another ineffective game. What message is it conveying too the youth that when the senior players can play shite for games you still won't play.
