Lads straight up, what's the story with Coutinho? I have never thought that he was gona leave but a lot of rumours are flying about. Would love to hear your thoughts?

If he wants to leave then cash in whilst we can drive the price up due to there current windfall.

Buy a striker to replace.
1. Lewandowski (probably impossible)
2. Belotti (personal fave)
3. Vardy
4. Inaki Williams (match day fever)

Possibly grab another winger kieta balde or lanzini type who can operate across the front 3.

If he's happy to stay till next year then keep and make plans for next year.

2.) 06 Aug 2017 00:03:39
he won't be sold in this window. i hope. because we aren't proving too rubbish hoit at recruiting our trgets and we don't seem to have any genuine quality alternatives to our primary targets

i have feared since loverens 100k a week salary hike that he would be our starting 11 centre back this season and that our defense wouldn't relly improve. it is looking more and more likely that this will be the case.

3.) 06 Aug 2017 00:08:04
If we sold Coutinho and bought Vardy with the money i wouldn't know whether to laugh or cry.

4.) 06 Aug 2017 00:22:51
Vardy? You might as well just burn the cash.

5.) 06 Aug 2017 00:35:33
I am almost certain Coutinho will leave for Barcelona.

I am not happy about this and hope I am wrong.
Unfortunately I do not think I am wrong. He will leave.

6.) 06 Aug 2017 07:45:44
He won't leave this window, IMO. We need him and we need to keep him just like RBL stood their ground with us regarding Keita. Now if he officially asks to leave (transfer request) then so be it and even then, we should stand our ground cos he signed an extension only months ago and if he wanted to leave, he should not have signed it hence, he owes us at least one more season as we will then have time to find a replacement for him. If we just buckle and sell him now without the time to get in a suitable replacement (No, Gylfi, Lanzini, Rakitic, Rafinha, Meyer are non starters, IMO) then we will regret it, Big Time.

To all Ed's

What are there chances of rain this afternoon. Also if I buy a scratch card out of 10 what do you think the chances are of me winning are that I will win anything.

2.) 31 Jul 2017 13:51:47
What does the 'F' stand for in 'RTFP'?

Could be 'following' i suppose, but I have another word in my head. :)

{Ed025's Note - factual..

3.) 31 Jul 2017 14:15:59
read the f**king posts I always read it as.

{Ed025's Note - i think irony is lost on you gayfish..

4.) 31 Jul 2017 14:28:39
Lfc ash given scratch cards tell you the odds it wouldn't be hard to work out there's about 1 winner every 4.2 cards on average so in answer to your question 2.38 out of ten approximately, and you could easily check the weather reports that will tell you the chances of rain, if you are to use sarcasm use it right ;)

5.) 31 Jul 2017 14:32:26
Haha factual you crack me up ed 025
Up the pool.

See a lot of rumours flying around that VVD has handed in a transfer request. Any truth in this eds?

Thanks as always.

DMM1988LFC

{Ed025's Note - that is being rumoured mate but i cant confirm it at this stage..

1.) 20 Jul 2017 08:10:09
Can someone quickly summarise how this changes things pls? Can/ will FSG now officially go back in for him considering the public apology? The player ends up missing out on some financial aspect - is that right?

{Ed001's Note - he loses his 5% of the transfer fee if true.}

2.) 20 Jul 2017 08:56:52
Would Liverpool cover his 5% as part of the deal Eds?

{Ed001's Note - why would we? We pay a signing bonus and wages.}

3.) 20 Jul 2017 09:23:06
If he signs, Gomez can kiss goodbye to a place in the team, which I'll be gutted about, he deserves his chance now. Bugger VVD, look after our own. What's the point in having an academy if we do knack all with it.

4.) 20 Jul 2017 09:18:42
Ed1, why are players so greedy about that 5%? They're all on so much anyway what does it matter?

{Ed001's Note - because it is millions.}

5.) 20 Jul 2017 09:27:43
Keep gomez. get rid of klaven.

6.) 20 Jul 2017 09:45:38
Nonsense rumors imo. Once again Twitter rearing its stupid head into fooling fans and aiding betting companies. Unless some decent sources (Paul Joyce) report something, better not believe these baseless rumors. If VVd forces the move, it will be towards the end of the window when he realises he will be stuck at Saints for another season. Right now, he will probably be hoping LFC and SFC sort things out between them and an acceptable offer is put on the table. TR will be the absolute last resort.

7.) 20 Jul 2017 10:53:17
Teabag, I would think that Gomez, as a 20yo, still has a future here. Instead I would be looking at Lovren and Klavan as being at risk over the next season or two, with Gomez looking to ultimately form a partnership with VVD.

Also, as a minor point mate, he didn't come from our academy. We bought him a couple of years ago from Charlton, if memory serves? He was a promising 18yo from the Charlton academy and would've had much more exposure in our first team (cups etc) if he hadn't got injured.

I am a little frustrated with youngsters (under 22) who don't want to fight for places. Its clear our defence needs an upgrade, I completely understand not wanting to risk a 20yo as a guaranteed starter and therefore get an experienced excellent player in. Having heard the reports from Square Tomato, I don't think Joe is the sort to throw his toys out of the pram and be agitating for a permanent move if VVD comes in. Instead I would hope he sees it as a challenge and an opportunity to prove his worth.

All of our existing CBs have concerns over them - Lovren is injury and accident prone, Klavan is solid but lacking in pace and not exceptional, Matip is our best CB but injury prone. Just because we get in one exceptional (in my view) player, shouldn't mean Gomez has lost his chance. But it should mean our CB unit as a whole has got an upgrade.

8.) 20 Jul 2017 10:38:17
5% of £70 million is 3.5 million - no matter how rich you are, its hard to say no to!

9.) 20 Jul 2017 12:46:10
Southampton will be forced to sell. He wants only Liverpool! They could run down his contract which is a stupid idea! Liverpool make an offer, They take then money and sell te player who doesn't want to remain at Southampton!

10.) 20 Jul 2017 12:47:07
Not for this case but in general:

A Club and a Player talked about a transfer and agreed on Terms etc. but the owning club don't want to sell.
Cant the buying club agree with the player to hand in the request and pay him the 5% he would lose through handing in the transfer request as some kind of payment upfront?

11.) 20 Jul 2017 12:53:08
That 5% should be put into a charity every single transfer. Greed, Greed and more Greed.

12.) 20 Jul 2017 13:12:57
Klopp's 2 blunders

1. Replacing Sakho with Klavan

2. Handing Lovren a new improved contract

The youngster will beat its consequences as well the team as a whole!

13.) 20 Jul 2017 13:45:54
You surely just give your when instruction to say you want that in your signing fee. If something happens like you putting in a transfer request and losing your 5% ;)

14.) 20 Jul 2017 10:38:17

Lads, only found this site this year and really liking the information as it's here before sky sports even report it. On that note I have a few questions I'd be happy to here the answer to:

VVD - Absolutely gutted when I read that we ended interest because I think he is top quality. Id pay £60mil and not think twice. So, what are our actual chances of getting him?

Salah: Didn't pay much attention to the Italian league this year but from his stats on Whoscored, I think he would be a great addition, just look at January, that month nearly messed everything for us.

Any ft-back: don't get me wrong, I thought Milner was fantastic last year but a out an out left back makes the difference in a solid defence.

Lacazette: I know this is the most far out possibility but to have a striker who scores 20+ goals a year takes us from finishing 4th to competing for 1st.

1.) 09 Jun 2017 14:07:53
Honestly if we don't sign van dijk I'd be shocked as I think signing him for a reasonable but still exorbitant fee is the only way to clean this mess up in my opinion.

On salah complete guess work but again imo we will only not get salah if we go back an sort Brandt out so for me I think it will be one or the other.

Full back we will sign one possibly two but looking more likely to be one. numerous possibilities have been mentioned.

Laccazette I highly doubt. We signed solanke and unless sturridge and one of our other attacking players leave like firmino ings or origi I don't think any striker will be brought in.

Apart from that there's a possibility rather than a probability of a midfielder but who knows!

2.) 09 Jun 2017 16:43:19
Personally I think Salah isn't going to happen, the owners aren't prepared to do what's necessary to make it happen, Brandt won't happen as he wants absolute assurances on playing time. So if we bring in a winger it will be cheap and not very cheerful (Demerai Gray. )

VVD isn't going to happen. He's Chelsea or Man City's now as they will just make it happen without being bellends.

Lacazette won't happen either, if he doesn't go to Atletico it'll be Arsenal, simply because they're likely to qualify for Champions League football next season and we will fall short as our squad and first team aren't capable or consistent and we won't have added enough quality to the squad to compete.

As for left back, forget Mendy, we wouldn't pay £35m for a top class winger, so £40m for a left back is pie in the sky. We'll go for Robertson, low ball then and start the season with Milner since we probably couldn't even make that one happen.

I agree with if you know me. Coutinho is staying, I have no doubt.

I agree with Putneyred on VVD. Liverpool will wait to see if anyone else approaches and if not, I'd expect an offer and acceptance in late August.

As for left backs, I don't know what to expect.

I hope we get Keita, VVD and a proper LB because if we do, I genuinely believe we would have the squad to challenge on all fronts.

YNWA.
