Ed 002, I noticed you mentioned Hernanes as someone you saw as a good addition should Liverpool be interested. If we are say, looking for a goalkeeper, central midfielder and a top striker, is there any other players in those positions you think would suit us?

{Ed002's Note - Of the available goalkeepers Handanovic would be the best option but he would want to be first choice, and I don't think that is what Liverpool are looking for. Morgan Sanson would be a great addition to the midfield. I believe Mitrovic would be a good addition as a striker, but I understand that someone representing Liverpool has approached Mandzukic's agent, but as of this time, not his club.

Would be happy if we got Mandzukic, much better version of Lambert, done half decent while being on a constant pressing game at Atletico and scored plenty for Bayern Munich

2.) 23 May 2015 19:35:43
Do you believe Mignolet is good enough to be first choice?

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool cannot keep changing all of the players.}

3.) 23 May 2015 19:45:40
Don't know much about Morgan Sanson? Anyone got any info? I think the ones mentioned by Ed are achievable and would improve our starting 11. I know you don't like talking money Ed(for good reason!), but what sort of money would inter want for Hernanes?

{Ed002's Note - I really am not going to get in to money.}

Are Atletico looking to sell Mandzukic Ed do you no mate? Would he fit into our system in your opinion?

{Ed002's Note - RTFP.}

Thanks Ed, I appreciate the reply.

After Brendan came out with the quote about only adding "quality" to the squad this window, how do you feel about the signings individually? To me, Lallana is a safe bet albeit overpriced, but Lambert, as usefull as he will be is not "quality" and Can and Markovic are still very very raw. Would be great to have you opinion on this subject. Thanks Ed. P.s . Appreciate all the hard work you guys do, its great to have a site that doesn't just pander to what people want to hear.

{Ed002's Note - You should not believe everything you hear from managers. The club are looking to improve the squad and Lallana was always a firm target. Can will be seen as a long-term buy. Lambert will I suspect fill the role played by Aspas. Assuming the Markovic deal can be done, much is expected of him in the future. There remains every chance a LB will come in, a CB may arrive, and an offer has been made for Origi. Whether interest in Huntelaar is followed up or not I don't know.}

Hi Eds,
Just wondering if there has been any feedback or early whispers on how the new players and new coaching staff have been recieved ?
Thanks in advance Eds !

{Ed002's Note - The club will be looking to have a smooth transition - there will not be gossip. The goat was OK.}

I'm not convinced we need to be taking chances on our whole back room team. Getting rid of two guys with no real experience of Europe and Adding two guys with no premier league or European Cup competitions experience on the apparent say so of an fairly inexperienced and flagging manager could be a recipie for trouble. If it was one of them and a more experienced addition I would feel more confident. Fingers crossed they both prove me wrong.

I don't see how European experience makes any difference for us. We're in the Europa league to win it of course, but it's not the priority. Domestic form is the priority.
Premier league experience is over rated too. It'd be different if BR was new to the premier league, but he's had 4 seasons. He has enough premier league experience.

How much premier league experience did Wenger, Mourinho, Pellegrini, Ancellotti have before they won the league?

2.) 30 Jun 2015 07:32:15
Why is European/Premier League experience essential for an assistant manager? Why isn't he good enough just because he hasn't had that opportunity yet? The logic doesn't really make sense to me.

3.) 30 Jun 2015 07:36:48
Experience means nothing if your plan is garbage.

Mauricio Pochettino
Gary Monk
Tim Sherwood

3 managers without EPL and european cup experience (as managers) and still they have done fairly well in the epl. I would also believe that Eddie Howe will do well in the EPL.

Unfortunately I don´t know anything about O Driscoll, but it seems that Ed001 rates him, so it can´t be that bad. I´m still a bit concerned about the forced partnership between BR, Pepjin and Driscoll, but only time will tell.

You don't need premier league experience to win the league with a league superpower like city. Winning the league with Liverpool is an entirely different kettle of fish.

Are all these rumours of Liverpool being interested in Hernandez just people getting him confused with Hernanes ?

Ed001, In your opinion is Rossiter ready for a role in this team this seson or is he a year or so away yet ?

CovRed

{Ed001's Note - he is ready to be a regular sub and play in the cups, but not to start every week no.}

Ed002, Any idea why Liverpool are not involved in these "discussions" when other Clubs are ? I remember Ian Ayre making some ill judged comments over the sharing out of Premier League money a few years ago so i assumed that Liverpool were maybe chewing over some ideas over the future of football in this country. Are we just off the pace, out of the loop or just not interested ? Thanks in advance for any reply

CovRed

{Ed002's Note - It is now invitation only and Liverpool has not been invited - and in the short term will not be invited.}
