Sterling signed new 2 and half year contract

Cleggy1983

1.) 22 Jan 2015 20:34:48
Why does it matter. He has 3 years left. What is the worry ? Contracts mean nothing.
Consistency is the main concern if he get's his bumper pay check. Young prodigy in the making :)

2.) 22 Jan 2015 23:35:39
Isn't it Jordan Williams who has signed a 2 and a half years contract?

17 Jan 2015 20:39:28
Hi eds did you manage to find out if we had any interest in matt ryan

Cleggy1983

{Ed002's Note - I understand that Liverpool have had someone watch Mat Ryan at the Asian Cup. I am also aware that Brugge are very pleased with him.}

17 Jan 2015 07:42:53
Morning eds do we hold any interest in Alex song and what do you think of him as player?

Cleggy1983

{Ed002's Note - Nothing will be happening with Alex Song in January. There are two factors that will be critical in his decision about where he moves next: (a) the asking price, and (b) what other clubs are interested in him beyond WHU. It is too far off to really say at this time.}

1.) 17 Jan 2015 08:35:15
Thanks ed I have been impressed with him this year think he's a solid player

11 Jan 2015 13:20:19
Do juventus or sampdoria hold any interest in mario? And do you see him leaving this month?

Cleggy1983

{Ed002's Note - Balotelli has been offered to a number of clubs in England and in Italy but the asking price is very high. As has been explained, Liverpool would need to drop the price considerably if anyone is to bite.}

1.) 11 Jan 2015 14:13:18
Thanks ed. I do think Sturidge and mario could become a good partnership

2.) They looked positive against Tottenham. Sturridge is great on the ball and Mario does actually have an eye for goal. I'd give them until the summer.

3.) I agree mario just had no luck so far he nds a scrappy goal

4.) I agree his best game was with Sturridge and hopefully they can form a good partnership, ed how much are we asking for him ?

Hi Eds how do you think we sort are goal keeping situation and who would you like to see as are number 1.

Cleggy1983

{Ed002's Note - Karius is the player Klopp wanted and got. It has already been stated that Karius is first choice.}

01 Feb 2016 15:34:24
Does anyone else think Danny Ings could do a Jamie vardy in league next season?

Cleggy1983

1.) 01 Feb 2016 16:03:38
Your guess is as good as mine but I reckon he'll fit in well.

2.) 01 Feb 2016 18:24:16
He would have had a great season under klopp I think he would have done excellenth hard working can finish major pity.

31 Jan 2016 17:10:39
Hi eds is there any interest in this Russian winger from Madrid? Sorry not attempting to spell his name thanks.

Cleggy1983

{Ed002's Note - RTP.}

1.) 31 Jan 2016 17:21:59
I've seen some daft rumours about a loan, but other than that it's lazy paper talk. Personally I don't think he's ever kicked on and the money Madrid want is ridiculous. Personal opinion is that Markovic is a far better player.

2.) 31 Jan 2016 19:48:44
Marko ain't coming back here and frankly, can't blame him.

29 Jan 2016 20:51:10
Hi Eds except for long have we shown any interest in any players playing in the English leagues?

Cleggy1983

{Ed002's Note - Caulker.}

12 May 2015 20:37:22
Ed1 can I ask what would your ideal summer transfers be? I know your a big fan of son but any others ?

Cleggy1983

{Ed001's Note - a top class keeper, and a midfielder with real bite, Medel type, as we still need one. If we had Son too, then I still believe the academy should be looked to for cover in case of injuries.}

1.) 12 May 2015 22:18:10
Is son a out and out striker ??? Always taught he was behind the striker center forward I think we need a proper striker

{Ed001's Note - he can play all over the front and attacking midfield positions.}

2.) 13 May 2015 00:07:28
Son is deadly with either foot as well and I agree with Ed as to what we need and thank Jesus, Milner isn't coming because he is not that midfielder with bite that we need. We know what we need and with a new manager who actually knows what he is doing, we will b ok.

3.) 13 May 2015 02:11:53
Disagree on Milner, you can never have enough 100 percent men on the field. 11 men were hardly ever played in their correct position under shanks, Paisley or fagan but you could garaunteed 100 percent from all 11

4.) 13 May 2015 02:39:20
Redohio I think you will find that throughout his footballing life he has the bite you talk of maybe your to young to remember him he is a very good midfielder who is very hard to knock of the ball ,I bet you didn't want fabregas because of his wages and thought he had lost his ability what do you think now of fabregas

5.) 13 May 2015 01:48:35
Hey Ed. Could you please expand on the "midfielder with bite". You mentioned Medel but i haven't really seen him play. What would be the qualities of this type of player you are talking about. ? Cheers

{Ed001's Note - I mean like the way Coquelin and Matic are operating at Arsenal and Chelsea. They protect the back four and give the attacking players the freedom to work.}

6.) 13 May 2015 02:20:51
Always respect your opinion ed001 but you're obviously a big fan of Gary medel. I watched him in many games for cardiff as I used to live there and took them on as a second team. For me he's a decent player in that he reads the game well similar to Lucas but always looks a bit overweight and slow to respond when his usual awareness let's him down? Could rossiter and Lloyd Jones not be decent cover for Lucas next season?

{Ed001's Note - are you joking? He was the only thing keeping Cardiff within reach of avoiding relegation. He is stocky and powerful, not overweight. He never stops running. He would have also enabled us to not waste Can at centre back if we got desperate as he is a very good centre half too.}

7.) 13 May 2015 10:36:55
Ed1
I often wonder medel sanchez or vidal who'd you pick?

{Ed001's Note - they all play different roles, so it is not a case of picking between them.}

8.) 13 May 2015 14:45:16
Brock, you don`t know how old I am so you are in no position to school me on anything. Milner made his debut for Leeds in 2001/2002 season at 16 and I was 25 years old at the time so I am not as young as you claim. Anyway, your opinion is welcome BUT he is not a Medel or Matic nor Mascherano so the bite you speak of, is not there. If we want a DM, we go for players of that calibre, not Milner especially at those wages. He is a utility player who can play wide and in central midfield but is NOT a central midfielder with bite as he was slapped around vs Barca in the CL this year. I`m glad he is not coming because we have bigger needs than him and we have enuff cover there.

Ed why does someone have to leave it's a squad game and we need different options to compete plus looks like we might have European games next season so will need bigger squad.

Cleggy1983

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool have a large squad and there are limitations. You cannot simply keep adding players - they will all want to play and Liverpool do not have the money to do that in any case.}
