Evening Ed, I believe Danijel Subasic may be of interest to at least one premier league club are you aware of this and do you see Liverpool being interested?
Cheers.

Chris in Tamworth

{Ed002's Note - Monaco snubbed interest in Danijel Subasic from Arsenal last summer. I am not aware of any interest in him at this time, nor any intention of him leaving Monaco.}

1.) 05 Apr 2016 05:55:27
Cheers Ed, I see more interest should he have a good tournament in the summer.

{Ed002's Note - Sure.}

30 Dec 2015 10:51:07
Morning Ed do you think Liverpool have any interest in Ricardo Rodriguez?
Would seem very much a Klopp type of full back to me and I believe we've already looked previously.

Chris in Tamworth

{Ed002's Note - No Chris and I sujspect he would be well beyond the means of Liverpool in January in any case. Wolfsburg's Ricardo Rodriguez previously attracted the attention of Chelsea, Manchester United, Inter, Fiorentina and Real Madrid. Real Madrid, fearful of a ban, may see Rodriguez as an alternative to Gaya and may look to move in January. Valencia are also interested.

Liverpool are looking elsewhere for a left back still and with Moreno, Smith, Enrique & Gomez (to return) it may well be something that will wait until the summer.}

1.) 30 Dec 2015 11:31:23
Yes I agree we aren't desperate in that position but he is top drawer so I suppose the cost would reflect that. Am I right in thinking we looked previously and could we have signed him or was it all paper talk.

09 Aug 2015 16:05:10
Afternoon Ed can I ask is there any truth in the Enrique to west brom rumours?

Chris in Tamworth

{Ed001's Note - I don't know mate, I moved apartment the other day, and yesterday was my first day back online, so I have a huge backlog of emails etc to go through to catch up on what is happening. Last I heard there was no interest from anyone, but that was a while ago now and could easily have changed.}

15 Jul 2015 20:48:07
Not Liverpool related and I hope you don't mind the question Eds but do you have any idea on the future of Breel-Donald Embolo?
Cheers

Chris in Tamworth

{Ed002's Note - Basel's Breel Embolo is a target of Spurs, Red Bull Leipzig and West Ham with Basel aware of interest from all three clubs.}

1.) 15 Jul 2015 22:26:59
Cheers Ed

2.) 16 Jul 2015 00:31:34
I'm not sure why you even post questions like this on here Ed.
Do you just pretend to imagine that it was phrased in a Liverpool relevant way? Or do you actually enjoy the challenge of a new and complicated-sounding name? I could give you one or two if you like, but, if I'm honest, they'd probably be relevant, sorry. :(

So, what's Allan Rodriguez de Souza up to this summer?

{Ed002's Note - I am sorry but Chris has been a very good, consistent and decent contributor who asked a question I happened to know the answer to.

I am sure you will find other editors to abuse elsewhere.}

3.) 16 Jul 2015 17:17:07
Chris in Tamworth was here before both the chicken and the egg ;)

13 Feb 2015 15:15:27
Afternoon Ed(s) with all the talk about defensive options for next season and in particular the thought that Ilori is an option (I would certainly have him back in) what are your thoughts on his future?
Will Liverpool bring him back and give him opportunities or do you think BR is not keen? Just value your opinion cheers

Chris in Tamworth

{Ed002's Note - The club need to talk with him and outline their plans for next season. Liverpool has taken two years out of his career so far and he should be assured that there is some future. It could, in my view, go either way.

He has no great value so it would, in a way given the financial predicament and the FFP issues, be best to keep him.}

1.) 13 Feb 2015 20:53:13
Should replace Toure in squad for next year, get some experience in the cup games and a few league games, then be the long term replacement for Skrtel the year after.

Has got it all this kid, just needs the opportunity to show it.

2.) 13 Feb 2015 21:07:40
Totally agree Elderslie well said👍

3.) 14 Feb 2015 08:48:23
Haven't seen him play this season.how Is he performing so far?

{Ed002's Note - He has been out injured. I also very much doubt he will want a third season disrupted by Liverpool.}

Afternoon all, it's been a while. Hope you're all well especially Ed's 001 and 002.

Chris in Tamworth

{Ed002's Note - It has been an age Chris - hope you are well and will be a regular again.}

1.) 03 Aug 2019 17:02:55
Alrite Chis, hope you keeping well.

2.) 03 Aug 2019 17:10:03
Almost as legendary as Blair Mayne or Ken Aguero making a comeback!

3.) 03 Aug 2019 18:42:08
Last season I had little to complain about, hence my absence. I must say I’ve missed you Ed002 you beautiful creature.

{Ed002's Note - I often think of you Chris.}

4.) 03 Aug 2019 18:49:42
Could to hear from you Chris.

{Ed001's Note - talk about a blast from the past. Nice to see you about Chris (and you too ST).}

5.) 03 Aug 2019 19:09:34
It’s nice to be back, hope you’re keeping well Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - I suppose it depends on how you define well....

How are things with you?}

6.) 03 Aug 2019 19:24:48
Welcome back Chris.
Hi ST any info from joe. Hope he’s fully recovered now mate.

7.) 03 Aug 2019 19:33:52
Ye joe is fine mate.

8.) 03 Aug 2019 19:37:43
That doesn’t sound too upbeat Ed? As for me I’m still making stairs and ticking along. I started a Cornish Rowing club (rowing as in the sport not the argument! ) in the midlands about as far from the sea as it’s possible to be so same old barmy ideas really 😂.

{Ed001's Note - I am fine mate, I was just kidding.

I would have thought rowing as in the argument would be more your thing?}

9.) 03 Aug 2019 20:48:41
Ed001, I’m a new calmer me.

{Ed001's Note - in other words you are getting old....}

10.) 03 Aug 2019 21:18:53
That’ll be it, anyway I may as well ask something that’s probably been asked a lot recently (I’ve not had chance to trawl through all the posts yet) do you see a first team signing before deadline?

11.) 03 Aug 2019 22:59:57
ST - will Joe recover from his defeat to Ox in the Hip Hop challenge in time for the season? Lol.

{Ed0333's Note - I got more questions correct than VVD, I’m a proper G fam

12.) 04 Aug 2019 07:27:21
That hip hop challenge was funny.

{Ed001's Note - to answer Chris, if there is, it will only be one, more likely to be outs now only though. Today will be a factor in whether a move is pushed or not.}

13.) 04 Aug 2019 08:09:16
In other words Klopp wants to see if he thinks we have enough cover with players who can fill or cover the forward positions, else we might well push for the winger who has been away at the AFCON and plays for OL.

Now watch Wilson and co come off the bench and have a stormer!

{Ed025's Note - dont hold your breath virgil..

14.) 04 Aug 2019 11:31:51
Lol Ed025 what about them having stormers off the bench? You never no mate.

{Ed025's Note - take it from me virgil...i do know.. :)

Smokescreens everywhere I expect a bid from us around 30 million for Sanchez on Monday.

Chris in Tamworth

1.) 12 Jan 2018 19:27:19
Knew we would find that smokescreen some point in this window!

2.) 12 Jan 2018 19:52:25
I'd love Sanchez. Unfortunately never happening.

3.) 12 Jan 2018 19:55:03
Smokescreens don't exist at this level of football as no one is in a room, plotting on how to "smokescreen" their way through a transfer.

4.) 12 Jan 2018 20:01:33
Sanchez comes across as a complete toss bag. No thanks! Let him spend is 300k a week in Manchester.

5.) 13 Jan 2018 07:27:41
Perhaps my post was a smokescreen?

6.) 13 Jan 2018 08:55:05
A wild transfer window has appeared!
Liverpool used Smokescreen!
It was not very effective.
(Hope someone gets this reference lol)

06 Jan 2018 22:15:32
Ed001, just to get away from the obvious topic of conversation for a minute can I ask who you would partner with VVD in the short and long term?

Chris in Tamworth

{Ed001's Note - short term I would say Klavan as he is the most defensively responsible. Long term Gomez.}

1.) 07 Jan 2018 08:38:37
We agree Ed, there’s a novelty! Also would you be happy with the defensive unit if we added a top keeper? I think it’s the biggest transfer we need.

{Ed001's Note - to me that's the key transfer. Ward should have been given the season on loan to Huddersfield to see if he could become the keeper we needed, but as he hasn't we have to find one somewhere else.}

29 Dec 2017 21:43:40
Sell Couts (he's going anyway) make an offer to Arsenal for Sanchez (it won't have to be huge considering they've only got January to get anything for him) and offer Sanchez a large signing on fee
Couts replacement sorted move on to a keeper.

Chris in Tamworth

1.) 29 Dec 2017 22:03:25
Not going to happen.

2.) 29 Dec 2017 22:03:46
I don’t mind people disagreeing with me but I’d like to ask those who do so, are you really saying you wouldn’t take Sanchez as a replacement for Coutinho?

3.) 29 Dec 2017 22:04:37
Not even similar types of played. Plus he’s shown no interest in playing for us before. We’d be better off going for Insigne or Lemar.

4.) 29 Dec 2017 22:05:48
Cobra, I’m pretty sure it won’t but I’d ask the question wouldn’t you?

5.) 29 Dec 2017 22:22:07
I wouldn’t take Sanchez as a replacement. He’s nearly 30, he hasn’t the finesse, range of passing or dead ball ability of Coutinho has refused outright to join us before and I can’t see that changing, plus he is not a like for like replacement.

6.) 29 Dec 2017 22:27:02
We all would but I think Cobra meant it's not going to happen in as far as Sanchez doesn't want to play for us and we probably can't afford him.

7.) 29 Dec 2017 22:31:19
I wanted Sanchez when Suarez left, but he will attract the big hitters in Jan and a huge amount of cash will be dangled in front of him for a pre contract agreement. I personally wouldn’t be surprised to see him at PSG.

8.) 29 Dec 2017 23:12:22
IF Sanchez wanted to play for us, which he does not, then yes I'd have him. But again he doesn't.

9.) 29 Dec 2017 23:50:20
Sell Anfield and by Messi? Silly talk.

10.) 30 Dec 2017 01:48:28
We wanted Sanchez as part of the Siaraez deal, he chose Arsenal over us. Great player but not for me now.

11.) 30 Dec 2017 04:16:06
Correct Nick-Sanchez is a great player who every manager/ fan would want, It just won’t happen.

12.) 30 Dec 2017 09:33:57
Mr dennis outlined exactly why i would not want him. Cheers mate 😆.

13.) 30 Dec 2017 09:54:46
I think Arsenal are going to let Sanchez go on a free.

14.) 30 Dec 2017 09:56:44
Salah picked chelsea over us forgive and forget Id say.

27 Dec 2017 19:21:01
Ed001 while I'm not convinced VVD is the player the press think he is I'm pleased to see we've got the deal done, my question would be who would you pair him with? I think Matip would be best until Gomez is ready. Bigger issue for me is will we sign a keeper?

Chris in Tamworth

{Ed001's Note - do you not think Matip and VVD are too similar in style?}

1.) 27 Dec 2017 19:34:06
I would prefer Lovren personally. At least Lovren tries, Matip just wanders around and avoids getting involved. Lovren, regardless of performance, always plays with his heart and gives his all. Can you say the same for Matip.

Plus, as ED001 eluded too, Matip and Lovren have a similar style, both like to bring the ball out and are classed by many as ball playing center-backs. In my opinion, Klopp brought in Van Dijk to replace Matip. Matip will now be rotational, Van Dijk a starter.

Van Dijk is an improvement on Matip, definitely, but I still have reservations about whether he is good enough to help solidify this defence. Regardless, I think Van Dijk will not be enough and, to make it fair on him, will require more reinforcements in defence, including a goalkeeper. Unfortunately, that will not be forthcoming, so Van Dijk will need to help ease our defensive problems as quickly as possible.

Best of luck to the man.

2.) 27 Dec 2017 19:37:33
One player can head it.
One player can run.
One player can speak.
The other player is getting sold in the summer.

3.) 27 Dec 2017 19:42:58
Van dijk and Gomez excites me that's the future right there rotating with matip lovren an klavan for cup games, wonder if klopp goes after a new right back to accommodate Gomez going in centre or rely on Trent a Arnold with clyne coming back, even if clyne dad would take him till next season to get properly going.

4.) 27 Dec 2017 19:54:47
I would prefer Lovren myself, Ed. VVD is just as lazy tracking back as Matip is and also, Lo ren can play RCB now as VVD played on the left (if Im not mistaken) at Saints. I have my doubts about VVD like many others BUT he's our guy now and will have my full backing.

5.) 27 Dec 2017 20:05:51
Matip is too slow.

The problem is it's an issue with morals and integrity which the game struggles with at the best of times, add to that we're talking about John Terry who has neither and it's no surprise.
