Ed01 if you are about could I get your opinion on the recent signings of Mane and Wijnaldum?

As we are clearly overloaded in these positions already along with a bloated squad. do you think there could be any sense in it?

My thoughts about this is Klopp having had last season to look at the players thinking about more goals and being clinical in the final third with the two players mentioned along with Cout's and Firminio (Spelling) .

Has he possibly considered losing Cout's hence the rash purchase of Wijnaldum?

Or could Klopp simply be looking at what he thinks he needs to toughen up out defence so we concede less and speed up our attack on the press and counter attack with players who score more goals?

Lastly. why do L'pool not just pay the amount for Chilwell

Your thoughts on this are gratefully appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

{Ed001's Note - Mane makes sense, we needed a player like that, just have to hope he behaves. Wijnaldum only makes sense if any two of Couts, Lallana and Milner go. Otherwise it is overloading the squad again. Though I would rate him as better than Milner and Lallana, you can't just keep adding players, we need to get some out as well.}

I've read Georginio played as a deep lying midfielder and was excellent in a Netherlands international.

He's versatile, but we are all assuming he's attacking replacing those players ed. could you see it as Allen and Lucas going, leaving Can, Henderson and Grujic. With Hendersons injuries and both Can and Grujic, young with inconsistent performances and Grujic new to English football. Is Georginio a potential deep playmaker, maybe?

I can also see maybe Lallana getting little game time and sold, but in Jan. Thing is both him And Milner were more consistant then the others in our midfield. I agree those are the two over Coutinho to move on. We do know Coutinho might want to leave for CL football, so GW could cover that move as well as playing deeper replacing Allen and Lucas.

{Ed001's Note - Allen and Lucas were likely to go anyway but we also have Stewart and Branagan there that you seem to have forgotten.}

No way should we allow coutinho to leave. I'd sell the entire midfield before I sold him.

3.) 23 Jul 2016 11:10:24
Say klopp has identified upgrades on milner and lallana and can get them in now but can't move lallana or milner until jan or next summer, would ya sit with the current swuad knowing the deficiencies or just bring the players you want? I'd lean towards bringing in the players you want. We alwayd knew itd take multiple windows to get the squad right.

4.) 23 Jul 2016 11:20:21
I hope we keep lallana as I like him as a player. My opinion only. Milner, simply because of his ludicrous wages needs to go. Both are good squad players but you can't have squad players on more money than the starting 11.

5.) 23 Jul 2016 11:21:32
Likelyhood is that we have bought Wijnaldum before we sell on players so as clubs don't hold out for more knowing what money we have received for them and also to get him integrated and playing the way Klopp likes as quick as possible.

6.) 23 Jul 2016 12:34:45
No haven't forgotten either Ed. Don't see either as regular first team players that Lallana, Milner and now Georginio are. Yes hope they get game time, especially Brannagan but do see it being cups and bench. Hopefully they can dislodge, time will tell.

With the Paul Pogba to utd looking to be a done deal. can the Ed's or anyone else think of a player who has been let go on the cheap. free or from the reserves of a team that has gone on to be a great player?

Briggsy

{Ed001's Note - Matic.}

1.) 18 Jul 2016 11:36:53
Fabregas.

{Ed001's Note - he said great, not ridiculously overpriced and average.}

2.) 18 Jul 2016 11:47:20
Reus pique fabregas.

3.) 18 Jul 2016 11:50:37
Would you really describe matic as great?

{Ed001's Note - on his day he is.}

4.) 18 Jul 2016 11:52:00
Also surely most great players were let go from an Academy where they had a lot of potential but weren't great yet?

5.) 18 Jul 2016 11:52:23
I touched on it the other day, but Atletico Madrid initially let Gabi go to Getafe, and the resigned him when they realised they'd made a mistake! Although unlike Chelsea and United they signed him back for a good price of about €4m.

6.) 18 Jul 2016 12:55:25
Beardsley.

7.) 18 Jul 2016 13:39:24
I thought the OP meant players who have been let go and then re-signed by the same club that let them go.

8.) 18 Jul 2016 14:11:23
Mats Hummels was cut from Bayerns academy if memory serves me right. Maybe sold on the cheap. Turned out OK in the end.

What about Pochettino Ed01? I have read various reports. statements about his ways as a manager and the small details he looks to change etc. I know he hasn't done much as a manager as yet but what are your thoughts on him and where he could get to with time?

Briggsy

{Ed001's Note - he is a disciple of Bielsa, less mad but still a hard taskmaster. Poch can become a great, but he has to show he can make a team last a full season, rather than fade.}
