Hi Ed’s, Long time reader. Thank you

With Marco Asensio threatening to leave if Hazard joins RM, is there a chance Liverpool May be interested? It was reported that we put a bid in last summer.

{Ed002's Note - He won’t be moving to Liverpool Boot. Sorry.}

Can’t Mbappe play as a number 6?

BTW. It’s not happening.

Don't be silly. Everyone moves back one. Mbappe up top, Nunez Am, Gakpo DM.

2.) 30 Jul 2023 07:30:44
Mirror, the original source, are clearly trying to get some money from Elon for ad revenue through click bait articles.

This can be filed under April fools joke's delivered on the wrong date. No chance of this unless he can play DM or cover the defence.

3.) 30 Jul 2023 10:10:24
surely if we get mbappe then Bacjetic will return back to CB.

4.) 30 Jul 2023 10:13:18
Did Mbappé start in the Chelsea academy? If not I wouldn’t touch him with a barge pole.

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea did actually reject Mbappe who had a trial there when he was looking to leave Bondy and join a professional club.}

5.) 30 Jul 2023 12:00:05
Ouch…… not a good decision by Chelsea as it turns out. Mbappe in the EPL would be an interesting watch.

Will Real Madrid have Bellingham Mbappe and Haaland in a couple of years time…. or will the Saudi’s scupper them?

6.) 30 Jul 2023 16:41:30
If he wears his shirt upside down.

Look what happened to Arsenal when they didn’t invest. The top players wanted to leave as the club lacked ambition.

I personally would like a couple of young top prospects rather than first teamers. But they need to be at an ability where they are pushing for a first team place.

Boot22

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool already have that in Jones and Elliott etc.. If the club cannot recruit players then the coach has to do more with the resources he has.}

1.) 11 Aug 2021 14:13:56
Would a summer of Konate, Doku and Sanches not be signing top young prospects?

2.) 11 Aug 2021 15:04:05
Sorry boot but we have started to integrate a lot of youth at the minute. You only have to look at the recent friendlies to see the likes of cain, clarkson, Gordon, Elliot, Curtis etc all get minutes with the first team. Kounate is also a youngster and Trent aswell who we all seem to forget.

Faith in Klopp and Edwards, we doing great.

3.) 11 Aug 2021 15:25:50
Yeah, but Arsenal had a tired manager on the way out. And they basically did what we did through the 90s - 00s. Still invested, but with no strategy or vision other than trying to recreate past glory.

4.) 11 Aug 2021 16:49:27
Jadon, Konate yes as it’s evident he’s got the ability to go on to be a top class defender, Sanches absolutely no as he’s injury prone and not that good, Doku no as he’s got no end product in a farmers league.

5.) 11 Aug 2021 17:49:03
Doku has been played out of position in France. They've played him as a RW when for Anderlecht and Belgium he works from the left. No whether the kid is good enough or not there's far more qualified than me at the club to decide that. Me personally I'd sooner we took the Foden route with these kids i. e keep them around for training and if they show enough actually integrate them in the 1st team squad and trust them with minutes. If they're good enough they're old enough.

6.) 11 Aug 2021 19:15:49
I still don’t understand what the OP is talking about cos the comment is a bit contradictory. None of our top players want to leave and furthermore, we are bringing the youngsters thru so again, I’m confused.

7.) 11 Aug 2021 23:09:15
Loosely translated as - SIGN SOMEBODY!

8.) 12 Aug 2021 03:01:17
Agreed that Doku is very much a speedster with little end product, just like Adama Traoré. But where he's different is that he's only 19, and therefore, can be coached and molded. We've seen countless times where players have come in and improved immensely under Klopp, regardless of the position they play.

Am I the only person who doesn’t get Curtis Jones, I don’t see what he adds to the team. I can’t think of many assists or goalscoring opportunities he brings. Defensively he offers little too.

Boot22

1.) 27 Jan 2021 10:54:28
you not alone but some will say his so young and will make mistakes and will take time.

2.) 27 Jan 2021 10:55:51
It’s like this poor recent run of form has caused everyone’s deep-seated old fears to resurface again.
We’ve gone from all fantastic to falling to bits 😂
Ok, admission time, mine is the midfield mix.
We’re not looking half as mobile and pacey, especially on the recovery.
My ideal midfield next season would be Fabinho, Henderson and AN Other (like Bissouma) .
Thiago does not get in, he’s a second half sub.
There, sorry everyone lol.

3.) 27 Jan 2021 11:08:29
When you see kids like saka, emile smith rowe, martenilli, foden, Greenwood etc jones should look at what there doing and be inspired .
It must be hard for a 19 year old too Express himself when those around him are floundering.
He has too work hard and establish himself and if he has the talent it will shine through.

4.) 27 Jan 2021 11:12:28
He's the only midfielder who dribbles forward with the ball consistently and plays the odd clever trick to beat a man or change the angle.
Most of the team are struggling at the moment so it seems unfair to pick out the youngest player and one who has shown some real promising glimpses.
He's shown more than kieta or Ox this season.

5.) 27 Jan 2021 11:24:04
Keita and Thiago are our best midfielders technically wise just need fabinho back in cdm.

6.) 27 Jan 2021 11:46:00
Keita is a joke LFcjota, if he had 10% of Jones drive/ ambition he would probably be a regular, Jones has very quick feet, is forward thinking, can pass, the only thing he lacks is pace.

7.) 27 Jan 2021 11:50:48
Games since the start of December,
Against, score, Jones details, Shots/ on target.

Ajax 1-0 played 68 minutes scored 15/ 5
Wolves 4-0 Played all game 11/ 6
FC Midtjyland 1-1 didn't play 7/ 4
Fulham 1-1 played all game 12/ 6
Tottenham 2-1 played all game 17/ 11
Crystal palace 7-0 came on 69th minute 14/ 8
West Brom 1-1 played 83 minutes 17/ 2
Newcastle 0-0 played 68 minutes 11/ 4
Southampton game 0-1 didn't play 17/ 1
Aston Villa 4-1 played 61 minutes 29/ 13
Man utd 0-0 came on 76 minutes 17/ 3
Burnley 0-1 didn't play 27/ 6
Man utd 2-3 played all game 14/ 6

Reason for posting the games is to give the lad a break. He is young and he has played in games we have lost or not played well. But he has also missed so really poor games, Burnley for example but played in the last Utd game and we looked a lot better going forward.
Also played in the last Tottenham game where we should of won by an lot more but played well.

8.) 27 Jan 2021 16:07:44
From day one I have felt that Jones was slow. But slower players than him have scaled higher heights. And he's been given a shot at securing a place in the title holders team. So it's up to him as to how far he can go with it.

9.) 27 Jan 2021 16:37:25
Anyone one else you want to throw on the scrapheap while your at it, at least Jones tries and yes he is young so he does have time and he's a scouser so it matters to him, god didn't take you lot long to turn.

{Ed001's Note - I can't believe Jones is taking stick. There were games early this season when he was outstanding.}

10.) 27 Jan 2021 17:43:48
He’s 19 and will make mistakes and have patchy form but that’s true of all players his age. It’s not very often you see a kid of that age playing to such a high standard. He’s got to be one of the best prospects in European football right now. He’s a better player than Keita who we paid an absolute fortune for so that says it all really, I know who I would rather have in the team.

11.) 27 Jan 2021 18:45:45
I see that Jones is the new target to b dug out today. Typical.

12.) 27 Jan 2021 23:25:53
Funny the stick Jones is getting. He doesn’t score and he doesn’t get assists, he just dribbles. you’ve just described Gini.

13.) 28 Jan 2021 00:47:07
I think he looks like he's going to be a cracking player. Rested recently as he had played loads, was clearly in our best midfield and well deserved. Probably just lost some form maybe from a bit of tiredness, I don't know, he's still very young. Delighted we have him.

{Ed0666's Note - Speaks volumes that we’ve missed him when he’s not played recently.

In regards to Liverpool or Klopp illegally tapping players.

I recall Suarez and Coutinho orchestrating moves to Barcelona, same as Torres to Chelsea and even Gerrard was tempted by the interest from Chelsea.

Also, was it not also on this site where it was stated that Salah’s agent was pumping him to Real Madrid and Barcelona months after joining us.

Whether it’s legal or not it seems to be the process in a lot of cases, Liverpool and Klopp are not the only guilty party. I would also assume that the reason why clubs don’t officially complain is because they are as guilty of doing it to others.

Boot22

{Ed002's Note - None of the examples you have quoted involve tapping up. A ridiculous and ill-informed post.}

1.) 19 Aug 2020 17:50:06
Leave it alone boot. Pointless conversation.

2.) 19 Aug 2020 18:40:55
This has been done to death. Klopp has been caught tapping players up again. We have debated it. Let's move on.

3.) 19 Aug 2020 22:29:11
As I remember it, Chelsea didn’t tap Torres up, they made an offer of stupid money which was too good to reject. He put in a transfer request as it didn’t look like we were going anywhere fast given the mess that H&G and Hodgson had left behind.

20 Jul 2018 02:21:07
It looks like we’re done according to James Pearce and Dominic King.

I know we all want Fekir, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. Must not complain as this has got to be the best transfer window in my lifetime.

I’ll bow to your knowledge. The first time I ever heard about him or about Liverpool signing him was after the World Cup. I thought it was a foregone conclusion that we were signing Anelka, who by the end of the season was really settling in or so it seemed.

Instead of Anelka it was seen as a better option to buy the **** that is El Hadji Diouf because he had a good World Cup and scored a goal. Never made sense!

Coutinho, Suarez and Torres seemed to have their heads turned before an official approach. I'm not defending Klopp because he has caused issues by his actions, but he is not alone.

Best of luck. It’s a good day to get married, it’s my 1th Anniversary. That’s not going to stop me watching the game though.

Boot22

{Ed002's Note - Is it just Liverpool supporters who have 1th anniversaries?}
