Do we have any interest in Jackson Martinez.
I've heard AC Milan and another European club are close to signing him

{Ed001's Note - no.}

1.) 11 Jun 2015 18:12:00
Most rumours point to his only potential UK destination being Arsenal based on a comment he made about them (forget exactly what it was, but basically singling them out as an English team he would like to play for)

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal are certainly interested.}

Tim Vickery has said we could sign Lanzini from West Ham if Coutinho goes to Barcelona, now I hope we don't sell but have always thought Lanzini looks a class player and has the ability to move to a bigger club.
What's everyone's (edds included) opinion on him?

{Ed001's Note - good player but no Couts.}

1.) 09 Aug 2017 19:02:49
Looked good on the odd occasion I saw him play.
But would Coutinho look good playing for West Ham?!
No disrespect meant towards West Ham whatsoever, just a hypothetical question.

2.) 09 Aug 2017 20:45:13
Couts was no Couts when we signed him Ed. Do you not think he could improve? It's a moot point really because I don't think we'll sign Lanzini. Unless you know something I don't Ed?

Really enjoy watching Woodburn play, looks ahead of his time.
Always composed on the ball and see's the picture in front of him before receiving the ball. Think we have some player on are hands.
Think he'll get game time this season.

1.) 19 Jul 2017 22:47:22
Agreed mate, looks a promising player especially for is age, also it doesn't get mentioned much but I actually think Kent looks a decent little player himself. Always looks to beat his man and puts in a decent ball.

2.) 20 Jul 2017 03:37:59
It's only pre season but Kent does look a good player. IMO would be good to keep around for a season and see how he does.

3.) 20 Jul 2017 08:15:16
keeping him around might not be in his best intrest, just as it is with Ward. Moreno looked a bit better I must admit.

4.) 20 Jul 2017 09:06:17
I agree with what your saying, he has real potential but I can't see him getting much game time personally, we have too many options. I hope I'm wrong of course, best thing for him (in my opinion) would be a loan to somewhere like Huddersfield for a season, impress there then come back and challenge for a place in the starting 11.

Like dilldog12 has rightly said, there's also Kent, who is looking pretty special in my eyes but it looks like he's off out on loan, I think right now for these 2 lads it's the best thing, They need game time and I fear here they won't be getting it this season. Though of course, I hope I'm dead wrong, I'd love to see them stop with us and get game time every now and then, I just can't see it 'yet'.

You think of TAA a season or two ago, I think they (Kent and Woodburn) are at that stage, looking brilliant, a lot of potential, TAA is now in the position where he can challenge for the starting 11 and steal Clynes place (one can only hope) . Best thing for TAA is for him to rotate with Milner for the RB position, Milner will help him out.

For the first time in along time, I'm excited about our youngsters, we have some real gems, I just hope we use them. Especially Ojo.

5.) 20 Jul 2017 11:31:12
Agree Bilverstone Woodburn looks excellent - great touch, always got his head up, intelligent player. This season might be too soon for him to be playing in lots of games but certainly he has a lot of potential - hopefully we can see him make the step up soon. I do wonder as well if his position will change in future - I know he operates as a winger now but with his intelligence and touch (combined with the fact he is not the fastest) perhaps an attacking midfield position might favour him more in the future?

Also think TAA is going to usurp Clyne this season - the lad has a ton of potential and already, in my opinion, offers more than Clyne going forward. The earlier he starts playing regular the quicker he will learn - hope he gets games this season.

11 Apr 2017 20:35:28
How many points we thinking will get us top 4?
Think 4 wins from 6 will do it.

1.) 11 Apr 2017 20:45:12
72 points mate. UTD and Arsenal have an uphill battle. 4 more wins.

2.) 11 Apr 2017 21:11:54
4 wins and a draw should be enough, Arsenal are in awful form and Utd have some tough fixtures and the Europa league to contend with.

3.) 11 Apr 2017 21:49:15
Beat West Brom. Then think about the next game.

4.) 11 Apr 2017 21:50:40
I just did a predictor from now till the end of the season and it came out as us finishing 3rd with 77 points ahead of Man City and Man U in that order.
We will drop points from now to the end of the season I think and I think it will be against West Brom and West Ham (we always seem to struggle against them) .

5.) 11 Apr 2017 22:04:03
I said yesterday that even 70 might be enough. I am sticking with 70 but would welcome us just blitzing the remainding games and blowing the chasing pack out the water.

6.) 11 Apr 2017 22:13:44
Palace will be a tough game. I know Sakho won't be available but you just know big Sam will set up to defend and counter at pace.

7.) 11 Apr 2017 22:56:02
Exactly as MK said, we should not be looking beyond West Brom, some people thought we were going to run away with the league in October/ November, pundits and fans. Will be a tough game, all of them will be tough. We are without key players too, so we shouldn't look beyond Sunday. let's worry about the games as they come, we should see then after where we stand. If Utd win their 2 games in hand they are level with us on points. We shouldn't count our chickens lads, bring on West Brom.

8.) 12 Apr 2017 00:14:28
I think one more point than 5th should clinch it.

9.) 12 Apr 2017 01:33:14
Just win all 6 an not worry about it.

10.) 12 Apr 2017 00:53:54
Gayle who signed for raffa is no longer with palace.
He used to run us ragged.
Thanks Raffa,

11.) 12 Apr 2017 01:12:51
Sorry Bilverstone, how's your arm? Didn't mean to snatch it off with your post ;)

12.) 12 Apr 2017 20:37:35
One game at a time, please, Thanks.

Interested to know what people's opinion on Cann is.
not sure where I think his best position is. When I've watched him play for Gerrmany U21's he uses his physical strength to boss the midfield but at premier league level this is harder to do.
Still very young and will certainly get better with the more games he plays and think Klopp will really help his game too.

1.) 18 Oct 2015 09:17:19
A kick ass B2B player.
Michel Ballack.

2.) 18 Oct 2015 10:11:31
He's still young (and like most young players) has a lot to learn but he could become an absolute star for us; no coincidence he's played in every game thus far this season.

3.) 18 Oct 2015 10:46:34
Yes I worry about his best position too. I thought Klopp might convert him into a defender like he did with Hummels.
He had a good game yesterday though.

4.) 18 Oct 2015 11:16:55
I wasn't convinced about the performance from Can.

When under pressure he flaps, but I'm sure that will improve.

Technically, more is required though under this manager but things look bright for the lad.

5.) 18 Oct 2015 20:19:13
I think Can was better when BR shoe horned him into defence the first few games then he got sloppy. i'm thinking the coaching and tactics might have been due to this. So i think he's a boss i'm MF already but will become more so over the coming months. seasons.

28 Aug 2015 17:08:39
Is it me or does Brendan Rodgers come across more cagey/serious/not happy in his interviews he has done this season.

1.) 28 Aug 2015 17:37:59
I've noticed that. I would imagine the owners have reigned him in a bit. He made himself look a bit silly at times. The real test will be after our first "big" win. If there's talk of title challenges, we'll know he's reverted to type. I am pleasantly surprised by his pragmatism this season. O Driscoll influence perhaps.

2.) 28 Aug 2015 21:35:42
I think it's just the owners or Gordon telling him to keep it shut rather than the effect of o driscoll

3.) 29 Aug 2015 01:57:48
That must be part if ghe new rules under which he now has to work. For three yrs they have warned him to keep his trap in check and he did nothing to change so now, the owners have stepped to muzzle him and long may it continue

How can a transfer be coming along nicely when Red Bull have said the player isn't for sale unless €8000000 is offered. Unless we offer that, which we haven't yet then no progress can be made.
Would that not be correct?

What's the reason we have missed out on Sessegnon?

Tony Evans who was critised for doing work for TalkSPORT made a good point about the boycott of the S*n should be just that and not everything that Newscorp own. Made a good point in my opinion.

How can you blame Mignolet for any of today's goals? Matip can't pass? What games have you been watching?

It's the first game of the season, yes diserpointing with the goals we conceded but a point away from home in first game of season ain't that bad.
3 goals scored away from home when we didn't play great and was missing several players.
Calm down and trust Klopp.

Very interesting answer.
With live streaming and IPTV readily available now, do you see the TV money start to decrease?

{Ed002's Note - Not at this time. The television money is part of a medium term PL contract that runs through the summer of 2019 and will be renegotiated within the next 9 months. In the longer term some clubs want to shut down illegal streams and control the rights themselves but they know that they will lose out on revenue. Therefore they will look to negotiate a half way house where they will get some options to stream. Both Arsenal and Liverpool have senior board members who are involved elsewhere in such a business elsewhere.}

Think it's a great appointment myself.

{Ed001's Note - why? Has he any experience or skills to fulfil the role?}

Personally think Klopp done a good job last season.
May have promised more you can't guarantee that in football.
Think he's brought the feel good factor back to the club and the fans are 100% behind him.
Can't comment to much on anything he's said reguarding transfer as know nothing of it but if true what edd002 is saying then it needs to stop.
Would be interesting to know if this is common place or not in football, I'd probably say yes, but still doesn't make it right.

{Ed002's Note - It is not common place to have done what Liverpool has done - it is far more common to see agents overstep the mark.}
