Question for the editors. was reported Thursday that Liverpool had entered talks with Roma about signing Alisson Becker then within 24 hours was reported that they had withdrew from negotiations and were going to stick with Karius, my question is would their be any truth in that and if so would the club have given that information and if so why?

Bilverstone

{Ed001's Note - do you even need to ask if this nonsense is true?}

1.) 17 Feb 2018 08:29:48
Slow day, no LFC game for 8 more days. So the media came up with some bull to keep the clicks alive. The club responded by refuting the nonsense printed in the papers lest Roma get infuriated for no reason whatsoever. Football and media bull go hand in hand unfortunately.

2.) 17 Feb 2018 11:33:50
Is it likely they open talks then exit within 24 hours?

3.) 18 Feb 2018 06:32:41
We have to learn to take everything with a pinch of salt that is written in most of the papers.

4.) 18 Feb 2018 08:50:04
The best one was stevie just happening to mention wanyama's name then the next day the rags have us linked with him lol

Advice is forget the rags.

07 Jan 2018 09:50:09
Would RBL let Naby Kieta go if the price was right?

Same question with Lemar?

Thanks.

Bilverstone

{Ed025's Note - money talks so yes bilverstone, it would have to be massive though mate..

1.) 07 Jan 2018 11:44:42
Have they not already had enough money for keita? We already have him signed it would just be throwing money away to pay more.

2.) 07 Jan 2018 12:07:22
Or it would be paying extra to get him now, which was not the deal we agreed and therefore have paid for.

3.) 07 Jan 2018 11:39:33
Could we draft in Leslie Crowther to ensure we pay the right price?

4.) 07 Jan 2018 10:27:00
Soz ed wat we talking like an extra 20 million, were is the guy seri being linked too I noticed big Sam said u guys strengthening other areas I would like him if keita not going to happen Barcelona were after him I know he ain't coutihno but he has same sort of attributes.

{Ed025's Note - we are actually linked to seri hailstones but im not holding my breath, how much teams will pay for players is just a guessing game, i think it wont happen until summer for keita but you never know but one think is for sure your getting one hell of a player mate..

5.) 07 Jan 2018 10:36:49
We'd have to pay an extra £18m to get Keita early - at least that's what I read from a good journalist.

6.) 07 Jan 2018 10:53:38
Do you see this is what we will try to do ed?

{Ed025's Note - to be honest no KR17, the problem is that RBL dont need the money mate..

7.) 07 Jan 2018 12:48:41
Or if he will strengthen us now to ensure we are still competitive and our season doesn't come to an abrupt end. With our other targets not looking likely. Would it be worth spending an extra 10m if it was possible.

8.) 07 Jan 2018 13:11:55
Yeah he'd just say to Naby " come on down " 😉.

9.) 07 Jan 2018 13:55:54
I like seri ed he seems quite similar too keita heard he got problems with cold weather though.

{Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath over Seri if you support either of the Merseyside clubs.}

10.) 07 Jan 2018 17:31:57
Just read reports both saying we're not in for Lemar or Marez at all this month. Am I right in assuming that there won't be a replacement for the little fella?

11 Jun 2015 17:16:22
Do we have any interest in Jackson Martinez.
I've heard AC Milan and another European club are close to signing him

Bilverstone

{Ed001's Note - no.}

1.) 11 Jun 2015 18:12:00
Most rumours point to his only potential UK destination being Arsenal based on a comment he made about them (forget exactly what it was, but basically singling them out as an English team he would like to play for)

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal are certainly interested.}

iPod on shuffle today, first 3 songs 'Red' by Daniel Merryiweather, 'Red strokes'' by Garth Brooks and 'Redneck Woman' by Gretchen Wilson.
Could be a sign.

1.) 03 Jan 2019 17:18:41
As long as you don’t play anything by Blue.

Not because of omens for the game, but just because!

23 Jan 2018 19:52:19
Edds. have you heard of any new proposals by UEFA on capping transfer spend to £80 Million per season?

Bilverstone

{Ed002's Note - Don’t worry about it.

1.) 23 Jan 2018 20:38:24
Not going to happen then.

2.) 23 Jan 2018 21:05:44
Oh dear, what would the two Spanish sides say?

3.) 23 Jan 2018 22:25:23
DaveyBootle1 the way its going they might be able to buy salah's football boots with that kinda budget.

4.) 24 Jan 2018 12:36:02
Davey, they would probably say "Vete a la mierda".

23 Dec 2017 08:48:17
Question for Edd's. if Liverpool decided to upgrade their keepers who in your opinion would be a realistic good option?
I like Oblak from Athletico Madrid but would he be a viable?
Cheers.

Bilverstone

{Ed025's Note - i think you have better at the club already bilverstone in the shape of karius and ward, oblak is very good but i suspect he will a target for the big boys mate..

1.) 23 Dec 2017 09:26:31
I suggest Alisson Becker of Roma. Excellent reflexes and strong as well.

2.) 23 Dec 2017 09:29:56
Yeah now is the time too put trust in the other 2 keepers we still really don't know how good they are they haven't been given a decent run, klopp loves rotation so now he needs to rotate the keepers, karius seemed to also have a mistake in him, ward I don't know but seems decent, is Perrin still at Genoa ed he seems a good keeper wat do u reckon.

3.) 23 Dec 2017 09:38:48
Karius and ward can't be worse!

4.) 23 Dec 2017 09:53:11
Karius will go on to be a good GK for us in the long run if our manager gave him a chance. Unfortunately Klopp knows as much about GKs and defenders as do most of the clueless pundits.
And I don't believe a word Ed001 says about Klopp's plan to phase Migs out and slowly reintegrate Karius. Klopp intends to do this at the cost of missing out on top4? That makes him a buffoon. An even bigger buffoon than the sorry excuse of the GK guarding our goal posts.
Don't get me wrong, Im sure Klopp and MIgs are very nice human beings but miss out on top4 and both should be the first in the firing line. This is a results business and neither are helping LFC's cause at the minute.

5.) 23 Dec 2017 09:23:11
Ed025. Ward and karius better than oblak. I know your a toffee mate but surely you cannot be serious. Karius is not good enough either some people think he is the answer but he is just as shaky as migs and ward even tho he was great last season for Huddersfield has found his level. Gk has become the priority position to buy now.

{Ed025's Note - you misunderstand me IR, oblak is top quality mate i was saying that karius and ward are better than migs imo..

6.) 23 Dec 2017 10:13:55
IR89 that kind of attitude is exactly why we are stuck with Migs. People are to quick to jump on players backs before they have even been given a proper shot.

Whilst I’m not jumping on the Karius is the answer bandwagon, both and he and Ward have shown enough promise to suggest they deserve a chance and a run of games.

How you can suggest ward found his level in the championship is beyond me? Based on 1 cup game which he wasn’t really at fault for the result?

{Ed025's Note - im with you triangle..

7.) 23 Dec 2017 10:31:23
Does anyone think we can win the title with any of our 3 GKs?
I think if Karius and Ward were that much better than Migs they would have been playing regularly.
I don’t think there’s that much difference in our keepers.

{Ed025's Note - i think there is ron, an upgrade would not go amiss i grant you but surely karius and ward have to be better then migs mate..

8.) 23 Dec 2017 11:13:25
Karius bundesliga team of the year behind neur. Broke his hand last summer and looked shaky after his injury, fans jumped on his back and wanted the buffoon back in goal.
Right now if we had stuck with karius, like SAF did with a certain young prospect, we could have been reaping the rewards right now.

9.) 23 Dec 2017 11:35:31
I still don’t think Karius is good enough.

Champions league and the German league are TOTALLY different football to the premier league, that’s why he’s playing in the champions league and not premier.

People talk of De Gea and fergie sticking with him.
The flaw in that argument is Man Utd have decent goal keeping coaches who improve their keepers. We have terrible gk coaches who somehow manage to make our keepers worse!
We need a gk who is already top class, not a potential keeper who could be good if he improves. Has Migs improved even 5% since joining us? I would say “no” and that’s true about all our keepers.

10.) 23 Dec 2017 12:44:22
Triangle. How has ward shown enough promise? He has hardly played and that speaks volumes that he can't get in ahead of migs or karius. He did well in the championship but this is the best league in world football and in my opinion none of the 3 keepers we have would start in a top 8 side in this league. Everyone is living in denial if they think any of these keepers will bring us back to where we wanna be.

11.) 23 Dec 2017 12:38:09
Apologies ed025 mate. Didn't have my morning coffee. agree with you oblak is top notch.

{Ed025's Note - very good mate..

12.) 24 Dec 2017 23:18:11
I think Kasper schmichael is within our reach if we wish to pursue.

New Facebook page for LFC supporters who live in Norfolk 'Norfolk Liverpool Supporters Club' check it out, only just started so if we can get a community on their then hopefully we can help each other with tickets/ travel/ anything LFC related.

Hope Edds are ok with me sharing this.

Bilverstone

1.) 26 Aug 2017 13:03:56
Love Norfolk. Aspalls cider is easily the best in Britain! My family and i were regulars on the Broads when i was a wee lad.

Hope your page takes off fella.

{Ed002's Note - Didn't you find the Norfolk broads to be a little two rustic - built a bit like guys? California girls are still the best.}

2.) 26 Aug 2017 13:24:19
With dry humour like that Ed002, you sure you're not English? 😂 brilliant. I'm telling my dad about that later when i take my washing to my mum. He loves a good topical dad joke!

{Ed002's Note - I fear that I have become more English-ish. I have lived on and off in England for about 18 years in total I guess now. I learned the old English language of Polari some years ago, one of my cars is an English car, one of my children was even born in England. I drink Gin and Tonic and prefer English Breakfast Tea to all other teas (we didn't really have tea where I grew up). So I am gradually coming around.}

3.) 26 Aug 2017 13:42:28
Galway girls are the best ed!

{Ed002's Note - I know that Galway is somehwere in Iremand but I have not visited.}

4.) 26 Aug 2017 13:47:19
Where you from Ed 02 if you don't mind me asking.

{Ed002's Note - Originally I spent the first few years of my life in the Seattle area but grew up in the Bay Area (San Francisco/Berkeley).}

5.) 26 Aug 2017 13:47:20
You've become so English that your ability to give irony and wit would make the Piranha brothers run for fear Ed.

{Ed002's Note - Sadly Doug and Dinsdale are long gone. Sparky misses Dinsy still: http://tinyurl.com/ycsc2e56 }

6.) 26 Aug 2017 13:45:10
Hahahaha wd002 you crack me up
Up the pool.

7.) 26 Aug 2017 13:49:51
Norfolk has the best looking broads in the UK fact!

8.) 26 Aug 2017 14:09:56
I've had a quick glance at the Norfolk supporters club page.
Not many surnames on there.

9.) 26 Aug 2017 14:23:43
I thought Rodeo clowns were like nuns, in that you're not allowed Children? 😉 sounds like you have lead quite the life Ed. I'm envious of how well travelled you are. Maybe one day!

{Ed002's Note - All rodeo clowns have children. Travel is not always what folks expect - I have seen the insides of lots of planes, rental cars, hotel rooms, hotel bars etc..}

10.) 26 Aug 2017 14:57:48
We'll I second what another poster said. When you retire i would love to read an autobiography of yours or even just a book on Football by yourself.

You are an exceedingly interesting person with vast knowledge on so many subjects. Without you this site would likely be just another fan forum (No offence intended Ed001 as it would still be the best forum 😉)

11.) 26 Aug 2017 15:33:00
😂 @ Aggerdo.

12.) 26 Aug 2017 15:36:49
I always thought ED002 would do well as one of the chasers on 'the chase'. Just imagine his deadpan delivery alongside Bradley Walsh.

13.) 26 Aug 2017 15:42:47
You can't beat getting mugged by lads on bikes where I'm from (St Johns, Huyton) .

14.) 26 Aug 2017 16:50:35
Seattle is a throw back. coached footy to young kids for half a year and even had try outs for the Seattle Sounders.

{Ed002's Note - I left the Seattle area way, way before the Seattle Sounders, the MLS and even the North American Soccer League began Jon.}

09 Aug 2017 18:04:40
Tim Vickery has said we could sign Lanzini from West Ham if Coutinho goes to Barcelona, now I hope we don't sell but have always thought Lanzini looks a class player and has the ability to move to a bigger club.
What's everyone's (edds included) opinion on him?

Bilverstone

{Ed001's Note - good player but no Couts.}

1.) 09 Aug 2017 19:02:49
Looked good on the odd occasion I saw him play.
But would Coutinho look good playing for West Ham?!
No disrespect meant towards West Ham whatsoever, just a hypothetical question.

2.) 09 Aug 2017 20:45:13
Couts was no Couts when we signed him Ed. Do you not think he could improve? It's a moot point really because I don't think we'll sign Lanzini. Unless you know something I don't Ed?

Didn't Liverpool post a record profit last season of £125M? I'm sure the Club are happy with Klopps dealings on that basis.

Bilverstone

{Ed002's Note - That money is long gone.}

Happy with what we've got. If the players Klopp wanted were not available until the Summer then players like Woodburn, Ings and Salanke should be given a chance rather than waste the cash.

How can a transfer be coming along nicely when Red Bull have said the player isn't for sale unless €8000000 is offered. Unless we offer that, which we haven't yet then no progress can be made.
Would that not be correct?

As wrong as any death threat is, I'm sure Karius won't let a small number of scum keyboard warriors on Twitter have any bearing on where he plays his football.

Anfield Road end will be the final stage of Anfield redevelopment taking capacity to 60000-61000.
Liverpool we're turning away 20,000 ticket requests before the Main Stand was done so will still comfortably sell out each week.

How can you blame Mignolet for any of today's goals? Matip can't pass? What games have you been watching?

It's the first game of the season, yes diserpointing with the goals we conceded but a point away from home in first game of season ain't that bad.
3 goals scored away from home when we didn't play great and was missing several players.
Calm down and trust Klopp.
YNWA.
