Not buying the butland stories until I hear from 002.

1.) 14 May 2018 15:43:47
I believe edd 2 is no longer interested or wanting to give information out anymore.

2.) 14 May 2018 18:04:08
We’ll have to see what WDS says about it. 😉.

24 Dec 2017 00:02:19
A lot of mentions of VVD not being good enough and dropped recently so we shouldn't sign him, anybody consider he could have had a 'sore back'?

{Ed007's Note - Southampton need to get the finger out and punt VVD - Celtic's got a 10% sell on clause so hopefully the £70 million is just a starting price.}

1.) 24 Dec 2017 09:37:23
Spot on, Ed. VVD has checked out of Saints and he has been showing it all season to the point that Pello has dropped him for good. They will punt on him in Jan and move on BUT they may not sell to us due to some bad blood, IMO. City can have him as to me, he is average and his flaws are there for all to see.

{Ed007's Note - When he was at Celtic VVD looked as if he had everything to be a top player but since durung his final season here he's been acting like a billy big bollocks without backing it up on the park. He certainly hasn't improved as much as he should have and you'd get a better CB for the kind of money being bandied about.}

A post for Ron,
pick your head up Kiddo and put your Keague tinted glasses back on.
I know you're upset about the derby and I agree with your point about never remembering us resting players for the derby. But think about it with a slightly different perspective, have we eer had a squad capable of rotation at this stage of a season. Enough of the doom and gloom.

1.) 16 Dec 2017 16:02:57
"squad capable of rotation" I think we should wait until early January before we make the call. Draws against Everton and West Brom in the last two games isn't exactly a confidence booster.

2.) 16 Dec 2017 16:03:57
We need you back firing on all four cylinders Ron.

3.) 16 Dec 2017 16:05:04
The bit that annoys me is if we played a full strength squad in the Derby, I'm sure our rested team could also bore us into a nil nil with west brom. In fact, I think they would be more likely to get a result. In a derby, everyone wants to try their best and win the game. Sometimes, in games like west broms, it's the players fighting for a chance that do best!

4.) 16 Dec 2017 16:35:33
Firmane as you say, football is not an exact science and if both lineups in both games has not proven that then, nothing will. Our rotated lineup played a lot better vs Everton than our best team played vs WBA. Nuff said!

As for Ron, put your big boy pants on and get back on that optimistic horse of yours.

5.) 16 Dec 2017 17:03:04
We have won less games than Burnley. There is little to be happy about. We need a improve a lot in all areas. Tomorrow is a massive massive game we can't aford to keep falling more points behind.

It has been a really poor first half of the season in the league. Rotation has not worked because very few players are performing at a high level. Our best 3 players this season Salah, Moreno, Gomez all didn't play last season. Where are the players that got us in the top 4? It is a must win game tomorrow, we are now 7th. I suppose for Back and BRover that is plenty good enough.

6.) 16 Dec 2017 17:11:50
you can look at this any way you want, Klopp messed up his subs V Chelsea, we drew, Klopp made 6 changes V Everton, we drew, Klopp made another 6 changes V West Brom, we drew .

7.) 16 Dec 2017 23:08:47
It doesn’t look right now but I think we have to wait till Feb to see if this rotation thing is a mistake or has helped I’m the long term. I expect us to smash Bournemouth tomorrow.

27 Nov 2017 00:42:26
Why does coutinho play on the left of a midfield 3 with Moreno lb. surely this stifles a part of both of their game as at times couts should be covering when Moreno breaks forward and obviously this isn't his game. Similarly he offers little defensively on the left where you would think extra cover would help Alberto? Surely we would see more balance with couts on the right and wiji/ can on the left?

1.) 27 Nov 2017 03:32:31
Erm no. no matter who is at lb until we have players who can defend as team we are screwed. Did u see in the first half v Chelsea when Alonso clipped a ball in to our box on left hand side and about 6 at least of our players were all pressing the ball very good. except it wasn't because Alonso just dinked it on to the right and we had no defender to be found. Liverpool have some outstanding athletic talent but I don't see much intelligence in these players. I'm no expert but off the ball they are horrendous! So for me Moreno not to blame they all are!

2.) 27 Nov 2017 12:29:55
Wijnaldum got caught with the ball about 15 yards out the opposition area when we had a good attack going, with about 4 Liverpool players around him not 1 shouted "man on" and we let a potentially good situation go, we have no voices in the team aswell.

25 Nov 2017 02:28:20
At this stage in the season given various teams positive/ negative showings so far, who do you feel will win the Champions League this year and why?
Could we win it and how far will we progress?
Who would be your dark horse for a lengthy stay in the competition this year?

Personally, I feel there looks to be good depth in the tournament this year and we could see some very exciting games throughout the knockout stages. The usual suspects look there or thereabouts in qualifying but PSG have looked scintillating so far but maybe are yet to be tested with their backs against the wall. I will still choose them at this stage.
Realistically, I feel we will reach the quarter finals and maybe the semis with our strength at home.
As for the unexpected team to progress to the latter stages that's very tough to choose, Spurs have done very well in a very tough group and if they can keep their core group fit it could be a thrilling year for their fans.

1.) 25 Nov 2017 04:01:23
Have you seen how poor and porous our midfield and defense is? I will be shocked if we get beyond the knockouts tbh. The likes of Bayern, Real, Barca, Man City will have a field day and run havoc if we draw any of those sides. Our forwards are good but not so good that they can outscore the aforementioned teams who have better defenders to back up their forward line.

2.) 25 Nov 2017 04:04:44
Seeing as my brother is a spurs fan, i expect us to meet in the last 8.

3.) 25 Nov 2017 07:07:22
Going foreward? Why not.

Defensively? Not a chance with our back four and the lack of midfield protection,

I’ll be brutally honest, I don’t see us winning too much domestically as it stands either. Winnng sides are built from the back, bit of an old cliche but in my 40 years of watching the game it’s 100% correct.

4.) 25 Nov 2017 07:08:15
Wih the exception of Gomez.

5.) 25 Nov 2017 10:07:54
For all the good work our attack does it gets undone by our keeper and defence time and time again. Our midfield does not offer enough going forward or in protection over 90 minutes. We won't win trophies if we are our own worst enemy and as it stands we are.

6.) 25 Nov 2017 10:49:31
Anything can happen in Europe so I am not ruling us out of the running cos we did make the EL final with a team much inferior to this one. I do agree that our defence is worrying and the fact that they get no protection from the midfield is even more worrying as it is on this point that we have conceded 1 goals in 4 games (all wins) before the midfield bailed on them vs Seville. I hope Can is fit to play vs Chelsea as we need him in the #6.

7.) 25 Nov 2017 13:22:46
We will get drawn against either Chelsea, Spurs, Utd or City in the first round of the knockouts.

Not a problem though we will beat them all!

8.) 25 Nov 2017 13:24:06
We didn't have the best XI players in 2005 but we proved anything can happen.
No-one will want to face LFC over 2 legs.

{Ed025's Note - yeah but what if the teams you face refuse the bribes ron?, not all teams are like milan mate.. :)

9.) 25 Nov 2017 13:44:31
You only need to look at Liverpool against Sevilla. The difference in the 2 halves to see which team might turn up. Even Liverpool's league campaign at home (really good this season) and away (average at best) . When we are on it we are some outfit but we do have our "issues" and most teams will know that. Who knows? I would like to think we could at least reach the quarters which would be an ok effort after being out of the CL for so long.

10.) 25 Nov 2017 13:47:04
Indian Buzzer
I would be happy enough to get Bayern this season. They don't seem to be firing on all cylinders this season.

11.) 25 Nov 2017 14:21:21
Judging by how Everton's season is panning out, Moshiri will be opening his chequebook very soon but not for signing new players. Don't be surprised to see referees and members of the FA committee buying expensive houses and cars in the coming months from mysterious funds. Bribes might be Everton's best hope of survival this season Ed025.

{Ed025's Note - i would have no problem if we did that buzzer its called finding a way, wimbledon took one to keep us up so maybe there are a few more out there so that we can retain our premiership status, referees are the best bet though as they are not on that much money so a if a ferrari appears on their driveway one morning im sure a dodgy penalty or an offside goal can be arranged mate..

12.) 25 Nov 2017 14:51:12
KBL, CL rules stipulate that two teams from the same country/ league cannot be drawn together in the knockout stages, I think.

So you've named all the midfielders who don't play, not sure how they are relevant as the majority are youngsters trying to establish themselves. That leaves Hendo, wiji, Milner, lallana, can and couts (who both look like leaving) that's not quite 8. so you think him signing on loan til the end of the year would require us to play 8 midfielders? Any excuse to moan these days Ron.

Do the same points you made about sess not apply to Donna? It was that just an excuse to have another moan?

Ron Keague, trashes the idea of signing sessengnon or ceballos but thinks we should be trying to sign donnarumma. ok.

Each transfer is different. Read when 002 posts. For example, Southampton have received something Iike 70m for V Dijk whereas we have received only 24m so far for Coutinho.

SGred one point I picked up on was your comment about picking more youngsters like Lingard over Wilshere, you realise these guys are born in the same year with only 10months between them. If ones not classed as a youngster neither should the other be.
