Just seen that we have ended our interest in thomas lemar because klopp dosent think he is worth the price being demanded by monaco. Monaco rate him at 90 - 100 million where klopp sees him more like 60 million.

A sensible move in my opinion. We can't go round smashing transfer records left right and centre. £75 million for van dijk even makes me uncomfortable, so £90 million for lemar seems even more ridiculous. If the player wants to join us as badly as is implied then he will find a way to join us, a summer move may be best for him, he has to knuckle down for the second half of the season to earn a move though.

So with lemar coming out and saying he regrets that he missed out on a move to us and hopes we would go in for him in the summer. Think that could be a possibility or have we moved on.

OP, I read Lemar's comments and like Ed02 said, he did not mention "us" in anyway. In fact, he did not mention any club by name for that matter.

He just said he's working hard to keep clubs interested. Monaco will be holding out for the kind of numbers Arsenal spewed at them in desperation at the end of the summer window but in my uneducated opinion they will struggle to get the €90-100mill they are after.

What i can't get my head around is that sky sports have come out and said we are not going to try and sign lemar this window. My question is why would liverpool fc tell sky that considering he is our number one target (according to reports)
Surely that would give other clubs the advantage to make a move for him?

Unfortunately there are insiders of clubs that give information away. When it comes to Liverpool, we cannot keep anything a secret. There is a main reason as to why Chelsea and spurs has been sabotaging our transfer over the years.

no one's happy when top players leave the club but you just move on and what I've seen of lemar he looks a decent player and I think he would improve under klopp i've seen a big improvment in the OX since he joined.

Surely a new keeper to come in wouldn't replace karius and it will be migonlet moved on.
People say karius needs to do better but it is hard to do better without the run of games. So the critism is harsh.
