Great result, not sure what was worse the ref or BBC coverage, didn't even show the presentation!

1.) 22 Dec 2019 10:17:35
Totally agree about the ref and BBC, both were an absolute disgrace.
Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone. Champions of the World. 🎅.

2.) 22 Dec 2019 12:35:32
The guy opposite warnock wanted flamengo to score.

Can't wait for Wednesday if Chelsea defend like this! .

1.) 11 Aug 2019 18:30:50
They will want to react, not sure what team we will go with either.
Thought Chelsea were good first half but surprised they didn’t start with Pulisic and Kante, even unfit, he is better then the rest of their midfield!

2.) 11 Aug 2019 19:13:45
chelsea did a norwich. play well but don't have the players to do it properly. lampard stupid benching his best players pulisic, giroud and kante. manu haven't really changed. they were so bad in the first half.

3.) 11 Aug 2019 19:33:23
wiseryan, maybe saving them for Wednesday?

4.) 11 Aug 2019 19:51:15
nah lampard just got cocky. His team is average so you don't really have the option of bedding players like pulisic in. He will definitly play his best team against us though as a lesson learnt. arsenal just about managed it without pepe but they were only playing newcastle. I'm sure if arsenal were playing manu first game of the season, pepe would start or risk losing like chelsea.

5.) 11 Aug 2019 20:23:36
Man Utd won 4-0 against Chelsea which is a better result than we managed against Norwich. Let's not be so arrogant and making up silly excuses. Even with some of their better players on the bench, Chelsea still got tanked and if Man Utd haven't changed then I would hate to see them if they do. It was a good result.

6.) 11 Aug 2019 21:13:17
Irish, who is saying Utd had a bad result or who is making some type of excuses? Also, who said Utd had a poorer result than we did (neither here nor there, IMO but whatever) vs Norwich? I'm not even sure what your post is even about, really. People are giving their opinions on the Chelsea v Utd game and how Chelsea will fair against us come Wed.
That's it.

Personally, I don't care what result any other team gets in the PL cos as long as LFC wins all their games and I'm definitely not arsed about what result a Utd. team that is far behind us get either. Were you expecting them not to win any games cos I wasn't? They won a game. Who cares? On to the next game.

7.) 11 Aug 2019 21:15:31
come on, chelsea were clearly the better team until the penalty. i say chelsea were like norwich because they passed the ball better and worked well as a cohesive team. manu took their chances, chelsea couldnt. we should have beaten norwich like 8 -0 and chelsea should have gotten something out of that match. instead liverpool messed around in the second half and chelsea benched their best players.

8.) 11 Aug 2019 22:24:04
It certainly wasn't a 4-0 difference in quality between United and Chelsea. The difference was defensive lapses and the fact United went from 1 nil to 3 nil in under a minute. Chelsea hit the bar twice and de gea was busy whereas United were clinical and took their chances. Wasn't much between the teams overall. Chelsea defended naively to United's counter attacks with a high line against pace of martial rashford and later on James. United were poor at closing down from the front and in midfield and had to defend regularly around their box, Chelsea lacked any potent attackers to hurt them. Nothing I saw suggests much difference to both sides from last season to worry me.

9.) 12 Aug 2019 00:39:21
I agree with your assessment, Har_red92. In addition considering how poorly Pogba played and with him losing the ball at will esp. in the first hour of the game, Chelsea simply did not have the quality to capitalize on the gabs that opened up for them. Had Utd played even Norwich with the way Pogba was losing the ball, they would have been punished severely cos that Norwich attack is just brilliant with the way they move the ball with pace, movement and pin-point passing.

10.) 12 Aug 2019 05:06:46
Redwolf yeah I think midfield still is a big issue for them. Not enough quality there for them to control games but it looks like counter attacks and getting the ball from back to front quickly will be their main threat. With an improved defence and lukaku not slowing attacks rashford and martial can play to their strenghts. Certain teams will still show up United's frailties though, wolves away next will be an interesting test for them.

{Ed002's Note - Another brain dead piece of detritus removed for good.}

1.) 27 Jan 2018 18:40:31
Just an opinion clearly your not man enough to post it.

2.) 27 Jan 2018 18:49:25
Troll.

3.) 27 Jan 2018 18:53:48
You can't put a thumb down when you don't know what the original message was, ed censoring things they don't like, that's the basis of comunisuim.

{Ed002's Note - You are an embarrassing laughing stock, just like those Comunisists.}

4.) 27 Jan 2018 19:19:16
I mean if you think that the basis of 'comunisuim' is purely censorship id say Ed002 probably did you a favour in not letting you embarrass yourself.

{Ed002's Note - I understand comunisuim covers censorship and little biscuits with a decent slug of red wine AW.}

5.) 27 Jan 2018 19:32:42
I bloody love your choice of words Ed2, epic.

6.) 27 Jan 2018 20:49:57
🤣comunisists. cracking that ed2🤣.

Just a though from last night origi and sturridge worked well together could that be our plan b?

77

1.) 26 Oct 2016 18:43:00
The 4-4-2 diamond we played last night is a good plan B to have as we have used it to great success under Klopp last season. See the 6-1 thumping of the Saints for evidence.

2.) 27 Oct 2016 02:00:17
Sorry, I meant Mike Dean.

3.) 27 Oct 2016 08:39:04
Sturridge played well with Suarez, and he'll play well with Origi.
IMO, he plays better when he has another striker with him to press, move around and create space than he does as a lone striker.

4.) 27 Oct 2016 10:04:28
Agree 100% realtofel, Sturridge thrives with another striker to link play and distract/ create space for him to exploit. Sturridge and Origi upfront as a pair should definitely be a plan B for a twin striker setup and if we put Firmino in behind at no.10 it would be a killer combo.

Best wishes Martin skrtel, I know he has been slated on here and he probably should have been moved on last year but he has been a good player in the past.

If every player we sign gives as much effort, loyalty and commitment as he has fans can't ask for more.

77

{Ed041's Note - You lost me when you said Loyalty and commitment. Didn't he try and force through a move to City?

1.) 14 Jul 2016 19:21:34
Granted, but I was referring to his time on the pitch, can never accuse him of not giving 100%.

2.) 14 Jul 2016 19:29:07
Watch it Ed041, Ed001 and Ed002 tell us off for slating ex players! Lol.

3.) 14 Jul 2016 19:36:47
He spent circa 8 seasons here. Well done Martin, thankyou.

4.) 14 Jul 2016 19:41:44
When was that Ed? It's not something that rings a bell in my memory. Any more information.

{Ed041's Note - I believe it was around the time City first got there money. Ed01 will be the one to give you more detail though.

5.) 14 Jul 2016 20:04:42
It was after they got their money, end of Dalglish's first season back, I believe.

6.) 14 Jul 2016 20:06:41
It was in 2012 when BR took over. The link was all over the sports pages then. He used that as leverage to get a better deal from us when we wouldn`t budge. Unlike Skrtel, Agger had Barcelona kissing his feet n all he had to do was say yes and he was off BUT he told them no and stayed here.

7.) 14 Jul 2016 20:09:41
He gave his all on the pitch, whether good or bad. Has received unfair comments far too often imo.

8.) 14 Jul 2016 21:00:28
In fairness, he did have a habit of scoring against city and Arsenal! Although note players has scored more against Liverpool than skrtel in the past 7 seasons!

9.) 14 Jul 2016 21:03:37
Amazes me that people can doubt his commitment.

10.) 15 Jul 2016 00:24:16
I don't think people doubt his commitment, but like so many defenders these days, his ability to mark an opponent out of a game in inconsistent at best. Defending is more about positioning and concentration that any physical attributes. Shame because at his best he was very good but the standard of defending in general, especially in England has dropped massivley in recent years.

11.) 15 Jul 2016 04:15:04
he was better when he had a carragher type alongside him, when he had to do the organising himself that's when the problems started, however he did play for us for 8 seasons and scored 18 goals for us, I wish him well in turkey and thank him for his time and efforts I have to say though for a guy who looked as scary as he did, physically he was like a pussycat who got bullied by some very average forwards, its obvious that 45mins cameo against our sister club, sealed his fate, goodbye and good luck martin skrtel.

12.) 15 Jul 2016 05:25:57
Sister Club. that was a good one! Took me a moment to figure it out . lol.

Absolutely crazy, will take some seriously good management to avoid losing both and not upsetting the squad with who goes where, not to mention backroom staff, doctors physio etc.

One great season and we think we can compete with the best teams with a bunch of kids, all look good but I am a bit worried about the coming season.

More games, other teams strengthening well and fatigue with senior players I do think we need a couple of new faces to boost the squad.

Not a moan just an opinion, just hope I wrong.
