any idea what's happening with Buvac? I thought our pressing was not as good since he left but maybe just my imagination.

To be fair, I thought our press was excellent for the first 25-30 mins on Saturday. We were harrying Madrid off the park!

Then Mo got done.

Our heads dropped and our intensity also dropped significantly.

I put that down to losing Mo, not lack of Buvac.

2.) 30 May 2018 15:01:05
We did not have adequate replacement for Salah!

3.) 30 May 2018 15:10:04
And when we linked with Dembele/ Pulisic, people be like 'where's he going to play? '
FFS! It's a squad game. You need depth to compete.
Players get injured, lose form, fatigued etc.

You NEED rotational options.
Madrid brought on Bale and guess what? Imagine we could of brought on, say, Dembele/ Pulisic when Salah went off instead of who we brought on.
That was strength in depth there, something we alarmingly are lacking.

I also thought it utterly pathetic that our game and our 'heads' should inherently go at the loss of one player, albeit an important one.
Speaks to the lack of options (and maybe even variation) in our team.

Liverpool must be strong enough to withstand the loss of one player and still have a good game. Else we in trouble. Are we to readily accept that absent Firmino/ Salah our level drops 50% and adaptation is outta the question?

We NEED depth. We need variation. Can't be one-trick phonies.
The 'where's he going to play' is irritating really.
Bringing in a player as good as Mane/ Salah can only benefit the team.
Everyone be forced to push for a higher level. No resting on laurels.

If Klopp's indeed eyeing Dembouse, then he's on the right track.

Agree RBL - this idea that a top player won’t come in because we have Mane, Firmino and Salah is just wrong and part of the problem with our ability to compete at the very top level.

Coutiniho Proved he is world class today for me.

{Ed002's Note - You are clearly very easily pleased.}

1.) 01 Mar 2015 21:12:56
He is having good games if he continues at this rate he very may well be

Again, easily pleased - let me know when he makes the World XI.}

2.) 01 Mar 2015 21:40:09
The same world 11 with Luis and Di Maria in it? Hardly a recommendation in my opinion.

3.) 01 Mar 2015 21:41:15
So ed there can only be 11 world class players!!

{Ed002's Note - Unless you want a squad larger than that? You have to remember that Liverpool fans consider all of their players "world class". The reality is shifted far from fantasy football.}

Coutinho is a fantastic player. When he is on top of his game which he has been he's very special. His problem was consistency but he has been consists gently very good for 3 months except for the games against Southampton and Everton but no one can play at that level every game. He is now adding goals to his game and fantastic goals at that. It's too early to call him world class. He reminds me a lot of inesta with regards to his ball retention and vision. I think we can all agree that Iniesta is world class. If coutinho can keep up his current form then I think it's fair enough to say that he can be considered world class in two years

5.) 01 Mar 2015 21:46:45
It all depends on what you (the individual) consider to be ''world class''. It's a completely subjective term that is used in football a lot, like genius and other superlatives.

I love watching Coutinho, when he's got a pacey striker who will make the runs behind and around the defence. That's when Coutinho's passing is the danger for any defence, but his long range shooting is also reaping rewards for us, such as he showed against Bolton in the F.A Cup and against Southampton last weekend and today against Man City.

He's still only 22 years old and long may we watch him continue his rise in English football. I love the way he tracks back and works for the team, so many players are great going forward and can beat a man or two, but they don't all bust a gut to get back and chip in with the gritty work, Coutinho does both.

Let's not forget here, the most recent ''world eleven'' had David Luiz at CB. So i don't think we can always look to a showpiece tournament held once every four years to qualify what ''World Class'' actually means. But that's just me.

Couts will be WC if he works hard and keeps improving. He`s still learning the game and if he remains humble, hungry and eager to learn, he will be unstoppable.

7.) 01 Mar 2015 22:30:05
Good point lads, world 11 means sfa

8.) 01 Mar 2015 22:47:25
We don't have any world class players. We have a few who stand a chance of becoming such (Coutinho, Henderson, Can) and we have one who came within a hair's breadth (Gerrard).

9.) 01 Mar 2015 23:21:00
I think he is getting there, I love his dribbling, he goes around players effortlessly by putting so much space between him and defenders. I think technically is has world class talent. But he's still growing and learning, His shooting has come on leaps and bounds and he's become a lot more consistent. We know how good he is, but maybe got to give him 2 more years to put him as World class just to see how he develops and stays consistent. I love his defensive work rate, i posted a few weeks ago about him being CAM but has a defensive work rate!! Hendo is looking sharper each game tbh, Lallana not to bad either!

10.) 02 Mar 2015 07:20:40
Henderson doesn't have the natural ability to be world class

11.) 02 Mar 2015 09:29:52
Red Lenin, Gerrard WAS world class for a couple of seasons. Why else would you be in the running for the Ballon d'or?

12.) 02 Mar 2015 12:49:51
Im with red lenin apart from the gerrard comment.

13.) 02 Mar 2015 13:01:06
Are you my wife Ed002?
"Easily pleased"

{Ed002's Note - No but she did tell me you are easily pleased.}

Reading posts over the past few days and it goes to show how fickle fans are. Nobody seems to want Suarez to stay. How long do you think you will have to wait for another player as gifted play for Liverpool? A player one of the best 3 in the world? How long ago was it we previously had a player in the best 3 in the world.

Don't mean to jump the gun but if Manchester United win the CL does 4th CL place go to them?

Think he was at the match yesterday. We signed that 53 year old keeper to allow younger players to go on loan so who knows.

Did you notice Klopp gave it the silent treatment similar to how he handeled the PC situation before that was finalised so I'd imagine some communication between clubs about Him joining this month.
