Sad that the klopp era is ending this way.
Last few weeks too many players have let him down.
I think the new manager in the summer should use the opportunity to move a few on.
Dress it up any way we like, we have let this one slip this season in a year where Man City haven’t been their best and they gave us an opportunity, we have messed it up.
People will reference the tactics being wrong but let’s be honest, tactics have got nothing to do with players being unable to make simple passes or control a football.
Somebody will have to explain to me why Diaz keeps being mentioned as being sold. He’s one of the only players who has actually tried and kept going against the adversity. Be one of the first ones I’d look to keep!
Mac Allister.
{Ed001's Note - I disagree - Klopp and his turgid tactics are the issue. Him and Lijnders have dragged a great team into mediocrity with this imbecilic inverted 'let's copy Man City' nonsense. That is the issue. And if you don't think tactics are the problem and they don't have anything to do with it, then why do we even need managers in the first place?}

It’s not Man City he’s copying Ed it’s Tony Pulis’ stoke.

No composure from out striker again. Would you agree ed that the club needs to overhaul in the summer. Endo was awful again. Nunez, salah, tsimikas, gravenberch, Robertson as well as thiao and mario need moving on.
{Ed001's Note - not really. We need to sort out the tactics and actually play to our strengths. Then we can see who needs to go.}

Totally agree Ed
If you want to see what a manager playing tactics that suit his players, just look at Everton tonight.

His tactics and team selection and positioning have been horrendous. Why play jota on the left and gakpo through the middle when gakpo played for Ajax and the Netherlands on the left wing, and jota is the best finisher we have. The game ageing Fulham showed how good gakpo is on the left wing, with jota playing as striker and scoring too. I would not play Nunez or salah again this season because we play better without them!

I agree with you Ed, been saying for weeks these tactics are shocking and don’t play to the squad’s strengths. I love Klopp for what he has done but it’s evident over the last 3 seasons that we need a different approach. I hope the new manager can set us up and use the squad to win games not give a toss about how other teams are trying to reinvent the wheel.

I think it was started by the Diaz camp. Once his father was quoted as saying his son wanted to move to Spain eventually, it is entirely understandable that fans started to turn against him.
Anyway. Diaz is not as good as Mane. My opinion. Keep or sell him, it's the new manager's decision.

Edd001 that's why I think the calm few just look forward to the new gaffer hoping we return to heavy metal football. Lot of overreaction to that performance and writing people off but i just watched and yawned the entire game at how draining we were. Salah has to move on imo but we have a very good squad with a few new hopefully top additions to come in. I'm hoping whoever comes in scraps that garbage.

I think a right back not even jumping to with an attacking player giving him a free header on goal is also a factor too Ed. can't excuse that in any way shape or form. He actually clapped his hands as Calvert-Lewis jumped.
What the F was that? I’ve no awareness to jump but I’ll put him off by clapping.
Trent wonderful going forward. Some of his passing is outrageously good. But a Liability defensively. And if truth be told, always has been.
First thing you want from a defender is the ability to defend.
{Ed001's Note - why you singling out Trent when that ball was Virgil's to win? He bottled out of every header tonight. That is the first problem. If you have Trent up against Calvert-Lewin then you are in trouble anyway. Trent was awful, but get it right, van Dijk was an absolute disgrace tonight, too busy whining and allowed himself to get bullied by an average Prem forward. The free header was just as much on him, and Szoboszlai, who allowed himself to be manhandled out of the way very easily.}

Diaz has been one of our better and consistent performers but no mane that's for sure. If he's sold it wouldn't break my heart and we should get good money for him. We can talk about Nunez scoring 20 goals but he should have 30 with the chances he's missed this season.
24 Apr 2024 22:25:26
I think it's time for a change.
24 Apr 2024 22:36:30
Szoboszlai has been useless since about November. I’d rather Elliott start but even then we need to be honest about these players. Shaqiri was a better player than Elliott and he didn’t play half as much. The tactics are crap Klopp looks like a bit of a dinosaur at the minute not able to keep up with the modern game.

Tactically with mane and bobby and salah, i've said it before, mane worked with robbo and salah with trent bobby fed them both and picked up the scraps a formidable formula with great players, mane and bobby gone, why not say ok Nunez you ain't a finnisher like mane but you can create the physical panic down the left that mane did and you will get goals and create chances, for some bizare reason he's pegged salah back by stripping trent away from him, playing trent as a roaming mid stroke right back has don fk all except expose salah as the frustrated player who left Chelsea. At no stage has Klopp thought yeah bobby and mane gone but let's try and create a similar formula with nunez left diaz central and salah right. Tonight though sounded like virgil might fancy a change.
